I love attention, and will follow you around to help you with anything you are doing. I also love the company of other cats, as long as they are not alpha types who bully. I am still a young guy and love to play! I even let the dog follow me around.

SIMBA
I'm a cat's cat. Love other kitties and am really looking for a play buddy! Humans are okay too, but only if you play by my rules. I'll let you know if I want any attention. I'll come and pat you on the arm or leg to get some. But don't move too quickly or I am out of there. So if you have a lonely kitty that needs someone to play with, then ask about me. Oh and I like to talk too!

Simba is doing well. He strikes me as the kid that has had a hard time making friends. He's a sweet heart with me and is not afraid of me. Although definitely doesn't like sudden movements. I've also learned not to yell his name when I call him, because I scared him half to death calling him when he was lurking in the shadows and I thought he was upstairs. He still walks into every room very slowly like something bad is going to happen. I think he was overwhelmed with have 3 new brothers and he gets very defensive and hissy when they try to sniff him. Which apparently is bad cat etiquette, at least according to his brothers. Right now Zeddicus is really the only one Simba is comfortable with and they're in the picture. Simba will race around with Zeddicus, which both of them love to do. Sam seems annoyed that Simba won't run around with him and is jealous of him. He mostly tolerates Simba, and give him a slap every once and a while. Frodo (my Meezer) and Simba are frienemies. It's like the both want to be friends but aren't sure how. They follow each other around the house and eventually will end up howling at each other. I'm hoping they will eventually work it out. I've been playing a lot with Simba and hoping that increases his confidence. He has an appointment scheduled for next week to see the vet. He's not itchy, but has some little bump/scabs under is fur. Hopefully I'll be able to get him into his carrier. :)

Notes from Home
Sam, my husband and I are one big happy family. Sam's relaxing into her surroundings and feeling more secure. Her curiosity is increasing along with her desire for more food. She runs and plays with her favorite furry mice and loves to sleep in the sun and my lap as much as possible. She's a talker, but it's a soft purr more than a meow. We love having her with us, she's a perfect fit. We're lucky to have found such a sweet girl. Thanks Siamese Rescue Center!

July 1, 2010. It's been six months of living with my sweet little girl, Sam. She's an amazinglly happy cat. We spend alot of time together, we play with a new mouse-on-a-wire toy that she loves more than the furry mice. I think she would love to have more play time and when the time is right I'll find her a doggie friend to wrestle with. I'll keep you all posted.

August 23, 2012. Sam made a big move this year. She's now a resident of Bronxville, New York and is quite happily adjusting to her new home. Another big change came one year ago this month, Sam acquired a sister, her name is Zoey and she's a red mini dachshund. Sam took her time getting to know Zoey, but they've finally bonded. I haven't seen them sleeping together, but I'm hopeful that someday (now that they will feel a real winter) they will want to cuddle. I can't wait for that day. ; )

November 4, 2015. We've moved again and now living in Des Moines, Iowa. Little did Sam know that she was a going to see so many places. We drove from NY in August 2014, Sam traveled well, staying mostly in her soft kennel, but occasionally wandering out to find an even darker place to hide. What a good sport she has been with all the moves. She quickly took a liking to her new home and found favorite windows and doors to look out. I do think she missed laying in the window sills at the last house. She loved the wind blowing through her hair, the tweeting birds and the interesting smells in the air. That was the closest thing to the great outdoors for her. We found a great vet here in Urbandale, Dr. Doubek and her amazing staff. Every vet Sam has had loves her sweet disposition, she's always such a good girl in the office. In June, I noticed Sam was pooping outside of her litter box. I called Dr. Doubek for help and she suggested a few things. I tried them all without much success. Then in August Sam began throwing up daily, so I took her to see the Dr. She did blood work and found that she was having kidney problems, so we started a new food and gave her anti-acid to help her upset stomach. She improved for a short time, but began to act very unusual and panicky in the house. She stopped all of her normal behavior and seemed out of sorts. Again I took her to Dr. Doubek. Sadly on September 1, Dr. Doubek felt a tumor in Sam's abdominal area. I left the vet's office in tears. Sam rapidly loss weight, but continued to eat small amounts and drink water. I've been watching her go though good and bad days, but I'm so terribly sad to say the time has come. She's suffering and her quality of life has diminished. I cry for her daily and don't want to be without her, but I don't want her to suffer any longer. She has given me almost seven wonderful years. I will miss her company, her chirps, her sweet face and perpetually waving tail so very much. I love you and will never forget you Samantha. I'm so sorry for this sad news. Perhaps when the time is right, I will again help another sweet meezer in need.

Kesey continues to be a mama's boy with all of his affection and attention. We now play Fetch every day, which is great exercise for my slightly chubby boy. Both he and Jada have taken to sleeping on the bed with me at night, and they are always right there to wake me when my alarm goes off. He is the best about drinking water and the first to seek treats and their special canned food at night.

JADA
My name is Jada Marie and my brother Mekisiq and I are looking for our perfect family. We've been with foster mom for just over a week and it has been a busy one. We had a spa treatment and then a dental and I was spayed! Foster mom says I am a bit of a project since I am a little unsure about people but I am a very sweet and gentle girl. I love to play and will allow petting once I trust you, I'm just not as snuggly as Mekisiq can be and need someone who wants to work with me on that. Mekisiq and I want to stay together so please keep in mind we are a package deal!

It's been six months, and my little Jada has come such a long way! Instead of hiding under the bed most of the day/evening, she is more out and about. She is also seeking my affection far more than ever, including bringing me her toys and jumping up for snuggles. She lets me hold her and pet her, especially in the mornings. I am so proud of her!

FRANKIE
Hi, I'm Frankie!
My new Meom says I'm such a good boy. My owner passed away and I was taken to a shelter to be put to sleep. Well I'm not sure what that means; I like to sleep but I also like my people company to pet me and rub my chin.
I had an eye infection at the shelter but that's better now. My Meom says she's going to take some better pictures of me so check back to see them soon.
I know you're looking at all those little Flame Point Whipper-Snappers on this site but if you ask about me I promise I won't be making all that noise at night like those crazy kids! Don't get me wrong, I like to bat things around too and play with feather wands.
So hit that 'ask about me' button and Meom will tell you what she knows about me.
Chirps, Frankie

Notes from Home
Frankie is doing quite well in his new home. He spent a week in isolation and since then he has pretty much had the run of the place. I think he would like to be friends with my other cat, Molly, but so far she is having no part of it. She is still hissing & growling at him, but he just ignores her. He is a good eater with most foods, but is turning up his nose at pate foods. So far he has not jumped up in my lap - but I am taking things slow with him. Purrs a lot when he is petted. He has an appointment tomorrow with the vet, but I don't have any real "issues" to discuss - other than the fact he is still pulling hair from his back. He is a beautiful cat - and we are enjoying him!!

Here we are - - 6 months after bringing Frankie home. Frankie has been a wonderful addition to our home. He is really a good cat. He is very loving (however so far he is not a lap cat) and wants a lot of attention. He especially LOVES being brushed - - almost as much as eating - - (well probably not!) His litter box habits are excellent. He never has an accident. He and Molly are even tolerating each other - - they both sleep on our bed at opposite ends during the day. I might add that he spends a good part of his day and night napping. He does let us know he is ready to eat at 5:30 every morning. I did discover that Frankie does not like thunderstorms. He runs in our pantry and hides behind the garbage can. He has pretty much stopped pulling hair from his back. I think that must have been a nervous condition. We want to thank everyone involved for making this a smooth transition for Frankie as well as us. All the volunteers do such a wonderful job. I wanted to send a special "thanks" to Carol - Frankie's foster mother. She put up with all my e-mails and dumb questions and was always there to help in any way she could.

November 1, 2015 was Frankie's one year anniversary with us. What a character he is!! We just love him! He has certainly become a welcome addition to our home. He has given us a couple of scares when we could not find him. He is a master at finding a very small place to take a nap. He is a pretty big cat, but he squeezes into the smallest areas. He has been to the vet for a checkup and received a clean bill of health. He and his step-sister Molly are getting along pretty well. They like to scrap a little, but nothing serious - - it's more like a game. One think about Frankie is that he never misses a meal!! He is a bit of a pest anytime I am in the kitchen. I guess he thinks when anyone is in the kitchen they should feed him. His favorite time of the day is his brushing. Next favorite thing to do is sleep!! He is still does not like strangers coming into the house and usually he hides until they are gone. I wonder if he thinks he might have to move again?? All in all he just a delight and we are so happy we adopted him. Again I must mention how much we appreciate the help we received from his foster mother Carol and the Adoption Center as well. You all do a wonderful job. Also, I would encourage anyone to adopt an older cat. It has really worked out well for us.

Notes from Home
11/1/2015

I don't know what it is about my sweet Ruthie that makes me love her so much, but just the thought of her makes my heart happy. She is not the same little girl that she was just a year ago and the transformation has been astonishing and wonderful to watch.

This summer I went on vacation for about five days and she and her brother Vinnie were well taken care of with twice daily visits by my wonderful pet sitters. Evidently, Ruthie missed me while I was gone and has been my shadow ever since. Never a big cuddler except at night, Ruthie is never far from my side and spends every evening snuggled on the couch with me. Her Meezer voice, once used sparingly and quietly, has grown in epic proportions and now directs me to her every need. Turn on the faucet at 3 a.m., you say Ruthie? No problem, your wish is my command.

I'm so thankful for this transformation and am enjoying it while it lasts. Now, if we could only get past the fear of letting me cut her nails so I wouldn't have to stage a sneak attack every fourth weekend and scoop her up and stuff her in her crate for a trip to the vet to let the professionals take care of it. Oh well, you can't have everything!

10/30/2014
Three years with sweet little Ruthie. My heart just melts when I see her and now that she has found her little squeaky voice, sometimes I think it will downright explode from love.

Ruthie still isn’t much of a cuddler. She won’t sit on your lap or even next to you on the couchmuch, but she has decided that the bed is a great place to cuddle with mom every once in a while. And if there’s time for an afternoon nap, she’s right there ready to keep you warm. Ruthie is pretty even tempered until it’s time for a nail trim. She still won’t let me do it so once a month I have to trick her into letting me pick her up and stuff her in her cat carrier for a trip to the vet. I get loving reports from the vet techs, like “Hey, we were on the last paw before she tried to kill us this time.”

Ruthie and her brother Vinnie both love to spend time watching the birds in the bird bath outside the window. That’s their favorite pastime.

Ruthie really changes so much as she gets older and it’s such a great adventure. She is one special cat.

(10/31/13)
It seems like it’s been much longer than just two years ago that Ruthie and her brother Vinnie came to liv1e with me!

Princess Ruthie already knew she was the prettiest and best cat ever even before she appeared in the 2014 Siamese Cat 4Rescue calendar. Now she just prances around wearing her invisible tiara and expects both Vinnie and me to swoon whenever she walks by, which of course we do.

Ruthie has really come out of her shell in the last six months. Never much of a talker before, she now has plenty to say and her little voice makes me laugh and smile every time I hear it. It’s more of a chirp than a meow and it is adorable. She has also seemed to decide that I am hers during the past couple of months and spends much more time cuddled next to me on the couch in the evenings. She even spends most nights sleeping near me for at least a little while now.

I love this little girl more than I could ever have imagined and I am so happy to share my home and my life with her.

(10/12)
Ruthie surprises me daily. She and her brother Vinnie have a great time playing together with all of their new toys and are so fun to watch. She is still timid in certain situations, but it has been a pleasure to watch her come out of her shell. She is quite a little princess and I can't wait to watch her grow up.

Ruthie has turned out to be the princess I knew she would be and, in fact, has asked for a tiara for Christmas. She is just the sweetest, most beautiful girl and I am so happy she is a part of my life.

Ruthie is much smaller than her brother Vinnie and is much quieter as well. Every once in a while she’ll throw out a meow and it always makes me laugh because it’s so dainty and cute. She’s independent, but affectionate on her terms. She is wary of strangers, but getting more and more brave. Ruthie is not a lap cat, but is always nearby. Vinnie is a bit of a bully and every once in a while she will decide that she has had enough and turns the tables on him. She isn’t afraid of anything and runs to the windows during storms to check things out. She and Vinnie both do that.

We recently moved and once we got to the new house and the commotion was over, she handled it like a champ. She loves all the space in the new house and the wide window sills. For some reason she has decided that sleeping at the foot of the bed is the place to be at night now, which she never did at the old place. She does turn into a crazed maniac when it’s time to clip her claws, so I finally gave up and now she gets loaded into the carrier for a trip to the vet when she starts to become Ruthie Scissorhands. She HATES the vet and we have to take the carrier apart to get to her (after I have to spend an hour outsmarting her just to get her in the carrier in the first place), but she hasn’t figured out that if she would just let me clip them it could all be avoided. Maybe someday.

I absolutely love Ruthie to death. She just makes my heart melt.

Notes from Home
11/1/2014

Not much has changed with Vinnie in the past year. He still wins for best cuddler, especially in the mornings on weekends. I have no choice but to stay in bed far longer than I should and cuddle with my boy.

The time change last night was fun. Vince (and sister Ruth) didn't really understand that 4:15 a.m. is not an acceptable time to get up and have breakfast. 5:15 a.m. is also not an acceptable time, but I can't seem to convince them of that either and they trained me early on to meet or exceed all of their needs.

Vinnie enjoys watching the butterflies and birds that frequent our backyard in between his naps and his favorite thing to do is sleep in front of the fireplace once the colder weather sets in.

Vinnie is a wonderful boy and I am glad he allows me to be a part of his life.

10/30/2014
Three years! It’s already been three years I’ve spent constantly vacuuming up giant chunks of hair from my two very non fur-challenged kids? Wow.

Vinnie remains a hot mess, but his award as Best Cat Cuddler of all Cats Ever helps us get through the evenings where he runs around house making noises like he’s possessed by the cat devil and hurling himself at windows. He’s a sweet boy though he does still like to bully his sister a bit. That seems to be better as he gets older. He’s also become a bit friendlier to strangers but don’t ring the doorbell because that means he’ll take off running for his spot in his box under the bed. Something about a doorbell, even if it’s on TV, scares him to death. Thankfully, in the past year he has figured out that if he lets me trim his nails, he doesn’t have to go to the vet every month so that’s been a nice change.

His sister Ruthie and I love him very much despite his craziness. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

10/31/13
What is there to say about Vinnie? He’s a crazy, crazy snowshoe with a big voice, giant blue eyes and even bigger hair. He has always been the cuddliest of the two that adopted me two years ago and does a fantastic job keeping me warm on cold nights.

Vinnie can still be a bit of a bully and likes to pick fights with his sister, Ruthie, but now and again the tables will turn and I will turn my head to see Ruthie in hot pursuit and Vinnie running for his life. I always tell him that karma is a you know what! He’s the one that sees ghosts and chases things that aren’t there and is still a very early riser, usually waking me up for breakfast and a play session by 5:30 a.m. I can't wait to see what happens when we change the clocks next weekend. He will spend hours in front of the oven or refrigerator if he thinks there might be a toy stuck underneath and loves to watch the birds and squirrels out the window. Vinnie is by far the strangest cat I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with, but I wouldn’t trade his cuddles and fishy kisses for the world.

(10/12)
Vinnie is quite a character. He and sister Ruthie have so much energy! It has been fun to watch him transition to his new home. He is constantly making me laugh.

Vinnie, Vinnie…what a mess. Vinnie is a big needy boy who wants and demands attention at all times. He is very jealous of his sister Ruthie if I have the nerve to love on her without including him. Good thing I have two good petting hands.

Vinnie is a lover and has recently decided that my lap is the place to be if I am sitting on the couch. He’s the first lap cat I have ever had, so that has been a fun new development. He is the greeter of the family and sees complete strangers as potential people that will adore him. Vinnie has the biggest mouth I have ever heard and a huge vocabulary of different sounds. I never know what he is talking about and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t either. Prior to the move we made about a month and a half ago, Vinnie would be up at 5am every day demanding breakfast. Since the move he has backed off that a bit. He also sleeps on the bed now, managing to take up half of it by stretching out his 11 pound body to the max.

Vince was scared during the move and did not like the commotion. So much so, that on the day prior to the move, but after our belongings had been loaded into the truck, he freaked out and tried to jump over me as I was lying on the floor and gave me an honest to goodness black eye when he evidently misjudged the height of my face and hit my cheek bone with tornado force. It took almost a month for it to heal and everyone enjoyed the “My cat body slammed me” story.

Vinnie has more hair than I have ever seen on a cat, but he is beautiful. He’s a bully and is relentless some nights chasing his sister Ruthie around the house before it turns into a kitty brawl, usually at 2 a.m. I do think most days that he’s certifiably insane, but I love him very much nonetheless.

ISABELLA
My foster meowm keeps saying "too much cuteness one one small package to describe"! I think that pretty much describes how she feels about me!

I am a little gal & need to put on a few pounds before I can have some sort of "procedure" done. I'm not sure what that all means, but I know that I can go to my forever home in a month or so!

In the meantime, I'm just going to enjoy relaxing & I'll get to meet some othere kittens in the next room sometime during the week of June 8th. Until then, I'm just going to enjoy being pampered & start telling my foster meowm about my likes and dislikes! So far, not much seems to be on the dislike list!

I look forward to meeting you at that "click" button!
Purrs,
Isabella

Isabella is a beautiful, active kitten. Last week, she was hiding more than usual and her right eye was inflamed and winky. Raj's eye was inflamed too. Our veterinarian saw both of them right away and diagnosed them as having a chlamydia infection. Isabella had a fever of 106 at her dr visit. Veterinarian gave them each a shot and sent them home with oral amoxicillin and an opthalmic ointment. Isabella became more active the next day and was back to normal. Oral and opthalmic dosing will continue twice a day for each cat until Saturday.

Aside from the sickness, Isabella is very playful, she and Raj tumble and wrestle all day long. They are growing, eating and filling their litter boxes faithfully. the perfect pets.

Oct 30, 2015 Isabella is beautiful, healthy and well behaved. she is actually more skittish than she was when she first came home. we're working on that with her. She loves her chow and her boyfriend, Raj; the 2 of them play and nap the day away. what a sweetie pie.

RAJ
Yes...I'm another little fella my foster meowm felt my name should come from The Big Bang Theory since I arrived on Memorial Day Weekend!

Am I not adorable?? I'm all alone in my playpen & watch my other friends in the next playpen, as I've had a little cold that I'm almost over, but until I'm finished with my meds, I need to stay by myself. Don't you feel for me?? Poor lonely little me...I'm Raj & I'm not going to disappoint, as I'm a sweet kitten, however, I do have a tiny attitude! I'm setting my preferences from the git go with my foster meowm, but I think she likes me cause I gave her a kiss!!

Since I'm so small, it will be several weeks before I can come home. I hope you have a friend for me, as I'll need a friend to keep me company unless you're home all the time!

Purrs,
Raj

Notes from Home
Raj is healthy, growing like a weed and seems to be happy. He is becoming the more affectionate of the pair. While he still enjoys playing with Isabella, he will now climb up onto our laps for pets and purrs, which makes us Very Happy.

We couldn't love this beauty boy more.

October 30, 2015 Raj is wonderful - a lovey playful beauty with cashmere-soft fur. We couldn't be happier with him. He is healthy and weighs in at 8 pounds this morning. His coloring hasn't changed much; he's still snowy-white with blue striped points. He seems to enjoy his cat paradise.
