I'm already a traveling dude. I was born in California and all my siblings found homes out there, but I was supposed to have a home here in NC. Then that home disappeared so now Siamese Rescue is helping me look for me new home. Will it be with you?

7/19/11 Newest update:
I apologize that it has taken so long for me to respond (but hopefully you viewed that as a good sign!). He is great! He has so much character, personality and a great demeanor. I am a lucky Meezer owner. Lastly, i swear he is half siamese and half bear, he is huge!!! But I think that makes him that much more of a character. Thanks again for all your help!

Here are some of the latest pics. As you can see he loves to sit up on the tv stand and watch the "Cleveland Show"! He also likes to fall asleep with the remote next to him on the couch.

He is such a character. He is HUGE. I'm used to Siamese cats rationing themselves with their food but I got to watch out with this guy! He is mostly just long and large overall, he isn't overweight. I haven't weighed him since his initial visit to the vet when he was a kitten. All my visitors adore him (even the men!). He really is a cool cat.

Overall he has long fur (not as long as a Himalayan). His fur over this shoulders and hips (i guess that is what they are called) is very soft, almost down-like type of fur. He has little fur sprouts on the bottom of all four paws.

He is spoiled, not only by me but everybody he meets.
We'd like to give you an update on both Atticus and Athena. They are both doing fantastic, and are definitely best friends. After adopting Athena, they quickly became "in sync" as we like to say, having taken on many of the same mannerisms. Both are very healthy and go to the vet on schedule. I've attached a picture of them both in our bed.

Foster Notes

Want a kittie that likes to play? I love to play! Everything is a toy to me, and I love chasing little balls and all those crochet toys that are all over here. And I've learned that you can even play with other cats - I didn't know that! Foster mom says I have quite the sense of humor. And I love people too - I purr and purr, and really like to be with you. I'm not a lap cat, but I am definately one who likes to hang out with you, and follow you around. I use my litter box, I use the cat tree to sharpen my claws, and I've got a healty appetite. I don't like aggressive cats who'll chase me, but I am starting to like the nice ones who live here. I'll keep you entertained for hours, so ask about me, and take me home!

I'm spayed, microchipped, up to date on my vaccines, healthy - hey, I'm all ready to go home, so ask about me!

We still call her Miya but she still doesn't answer to it. Miya is doing very well healthwise. She had her teeth cleaned and one tooth extracted last month. She seems much happier now. I think her tooth was bothering her as it was one of those reabsorbing situations. She still does not like to be picked up and doesn't respond to her name but she does seem to like petting more and she is more willing to play with a feather toy. She usually goes in for the kill.
She tolerates Kumar but would probably be just as happy as an only cat. If Kumar squawks when getting stepped on which happens occasionally because he is always winding around our feet Miya attacks the dog. She is a fierce Mama cat.
She likes all the pet beds we have around the house and especially likes the cat condo in the window. She is not afraid of people and will lie comfortably in the middle of the living room if we have company. We had a dog visiting for 2 weeks recently. After an initial wariness she didn't seem to mind.
Last year she ate and threw up part of an Easter Lilly so we took her to the vet as I had no idea they were poisonous. She survived the rather expensive treatment and was fine.
She is a beautiful cat. I only wish she was more cuddly. Not sure I ever submitted this from a past submission.

Sorry this is confusing. I am adding new info on Miya here. She just had her teeth cleaned and did very well with only 1 extraction. She is more interactive now that Kumar is gone. Seems to enjoy being petted more and you can usually find her in the same room where we are. She has a funny habit of sitting on the chair behind my husband and grooming his hair. Only his hair, no one else. She loves the Siamese Rescue doughnut beds (as does the Pug). and spend time moving to different ones when not in her wicker chair at the kitchen table. When we are sleeping she hangs out under the bed and greets us on the chest at the foot of the bed when we wake up. She is a low maintenance cat who gets friendlier with each passing year. Just don't try to carry her around. I will try to remember to submit a photo.

A little taken aback as I've been bounced around a lot in my short few years, I'm hoping to find a place I can stay this time! I'm going to need someone with patience, for while I'm friendly, interactive and playful, I'm also suspicious, defensive and scared. So I'd like to go into a home,be given a little time, and trust me, I'm going to be come a real lover! I might do alright with another cat, but she needs to be a strong lady as far as personality goes, outgoing and confident!

This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

Zapp is very happy in the new home. He has a lot of energy and loves to play. When it is time to sleep he comes to our bed and sleeps on the pillow between us. This brings warm and cozy feelings.

Endora has a new name! We are calling her Moomin and we are both madly inlove with her!
She is still a little bit shy and likes to hide under the couch whenever there's too much going on in the house, but at the same time she is the most snuggly and cuddly little kitty who sleeps on our feet at night ( or sometimes Nathan's head, ha!). She has become very playful and likes to run amok at night, chasing shadows or imaginary friends or whatever it is she sees.
We took Moomin to the vet on Sunday for her checkup and everything looked great except her ears that were full of gunky black wax. But the vet cleaned her ears and she got some ear drops, so hopefully that will clear up soon. Her armpit also seems to be healing but we got some drops to put on that as well to help it heal. We are going back to the vet in 2 weeks to check on her ears and armpit, so I will keep you posted.
And I'm sure you know this already but she is absolutely gorgeous!!

I am done with iso and met most of the other fosters except for the ones who don't want me to meet them :( I love all the other kitties and want to play. I talk a lot and am very loving. Foster mom thinks I have some allergies going on so that is not resolved yet but we are working on it. I love toys and I love food so I am on a limited access intake. Don't need a diet but foster mom says I don't want to go there - geez - I'd love to go there :)

Notes from Home
I don't think Bojangles needed any adjustment period to his new home. From the moment he came out of his carrier he did nothing but purr. His nickname, other than Bo, is "BIg Love". Really, such a nice temperment and always wanting to be noticed. He has a typical Meezer voice that makes me wonder if there are extra small children in the house. He also uses it to get your attention, which is all of the time! He likes to rough and tumble with his new friend, Napper Tandy, and although she holds her own at 3 lbs lighter, he is very good about not getting too rough with her. Bojangles is a hoot in the bed! If he is not trying to kill your feet and legs under the blankets, he is snoring up a storm. I did not know cats could sleep so deeply. This guy also has a voracious appetite. By the way he cries in the kitchen you would think we starve him, but his rounding physigue tells otherwise. If you are having a meal, he thinks he needs to join you. And I thought kids were hard to keep fed!

12/2/11 Beware the cat that climbs the inside of the Cmas tree!!!!

12/19/11 Bo's little wheeze has all but disappeared. The vet thought it could just be a really late resolving cold. He is fit as a fiddle now, not that it ever bothered him. Still snores at night though! Typical Bo fashion he already dug his Cmas present out from under the tree. It was unfair of me to cover it in catnip and wrap it in tissue just begging to be discovered! It is actually a dog toy that is shaped like a flat ferret, with no stuffing, but fuzzy fur and little squeekers in the head and tail. Bo, has loved it up something good already. He played with it all afternoon yesterday and continues to drag it around the house. It was brought to our bed this morning - nice and soggy from all the attention.

1/28/2012 Mom says I am demanding, but I know she loves to hear me talk. I don't like it when she lounges in the bed too long on weekends, so I give her butt a bite. Sometimes she still does not get the hint and I have to rub my wet nose all over her face to get her attention. I am the King of the castle, but my minion Napper Tandy sometimes give me a run for the money. I steal some of her food though, so I guess we are even. I love it here, but am getting curious about what is outside that front door. Whenever I make a break for it, someone drags me back inside - it is a good thing as one day I almost ran into the rain.

11/19/14 Bojangles is trying to pack on the weight for the cold winters out here in So. CA. He is becoming quite the actor when it comes to behaving as if he was not fed just five minutes prior. I wasn't born yesterday! Still as sociable as ever, but is becoming even more lovable, but still not into lap sitting. Part of the reason is he really likes to spread out when he lounges on his back. I have never seen a more relaxed cat. Flat ferret is still his best friend and you know you are in good with Bo when he delivers ferret to your door or has ferret waiting for you eagerly when you arrive home in the evening. Bo still has his testosterone rages though and likes to take it out on little Napper Tandy. Luckily she is quick and nimble and won't put up with this attitudes.

11/30/2015 Bo could have been a cowboy with the way he swaggers around the house. he definitely rules his roost and wants his humans to know it. I think he has personality confusion with wanted to be a dog the way he follows us around. He really would like to play with Napper more, but he is too rough and gets rages, so Napper won't tolerate his antics. On his last visit to the vet he was complimented on his clean teeth (who knew by that breath!) and his beautiful coat. He is very fluffy these days.

I really want a playmate to play with! And foster meowm says that will come with my forever home, and although I have asked for a boy, I might get a girl. Doesn't matter to me - I just want company!

I do like people to - I like to purr, and snuggle, and help make sure the toilet is working and the shower has drained. Foster meowm thinks I have a slight obsession with water, but I'm just curious.

If you have a new furry sugar daddy for me (any age is fine) and a shower that needs inspecting, you better email foster meowm quick - I'm ready to come home!

Napper Tandy is settling in nicely. She is a real sweetheart, but has a wiley streak that makes her a good playmate for her new friend Bojangles. She likes to come to you to cuddle if you are sitting quietly or even sleeping, the rest of the time she is built for action. I have never seen a cat move so quickly. In the first week we already went through a feather toy. She would drag it around the house and hide it so Bojangles could not play with it. Her first meeting with her new friend Bojangles went very smoothly, in fact, at first she could not be bothered with him since there was so much to explore. Now the two of them are like a herd of elephants chasing through the house. They love to run and tumble and catch one another unaware with sneak attacks. They play hard, but always fair.

12/19/11 Napper is on her third feather toy. There is no mercy! She is a very clever kitty. Often observing the scene from a secret spot, revealing herself only on her own terms. Be aware, she knows exactly what is going on. She is super stealthy too, you never know nor hear her when she attacks or sneaks right up next to you i n the bed. She is like the wind. She and Bo will now groom one another, although it is often Bo holding her down so he can lick her head. That said, when she is sleepy she just lets him lick away until she is a sad soggy mess much like Bo's tpy ferret.

1/28/12 I am getting along quite nicely at my new home. I have grown, but am still a string bean. I don't mind when my brother eats my food right out from under me. It means Mom lets me get on the sink to have a private meal. i am good at levitating and can get a good three feet off the ground in a single pounce. I have destroyed yet another feather toy. This time i ripped it right off the stick and left the little jingley bell behind. That will show them who is boss!

11/19/2014 Napper T is still just a sweet little thing although she has now topped 8 lbs. No match for her 13 lbs friend Bo. Still as stealthy and playful as ever. She likes to find quiet spots around the house for her naps and has recently taken to sleeping in open bureau drawers full of clothes. She still is not very vociferous unless it is time to visit the Vet for a checkup, then she is noisier than a pack of cats.

11/30/2015 Napper continues to be a sweet little girl. She and Bo are not a close of friends as we had hoped, but much of that is due to Bo's testosterone rages. Don't have any idea why Bo should ever feel threatened by this little girl, but he seems to need to assert his dominance at least once daily. Little T still flies through the air when she plays and likes to nap at the top of the cat tree. Now that the weather is finally cooling she likes a good cuddle at night to keep her bones warm.

We are so happy with Miss Pad Kee Meow. Our Interviewer did an excellent job matching us up with the perfect cat. PKM is a bundle of love. She loves all her toys her wonderful foster Mom sent her home with..the mice are her favorite!

Miss Pad Kee Meow used the litter box on her first night. Eats all her food wet or dry. Excepted the harness on her first full day with us. She doesn't mind dogs, she's a great fly catcher and she loves to be loved on. She's adjusting to life on the road wonderfully!

We're having a wonderful time together visiting friends and family across the USA. More adventures to come: ShellOnWheels.net

Hi everyone, I just have to brag about myself. I am a laid back boy and get along with all the critters here. I have met everyone and there has been no hisses or other problems. I must have been with wolfers and kitties before. I am loving and affectionate and made myself right at home on the bed with the foster folks last night. I am looking for my forever home and I hope it comes soon. Yours truly, Emmett Congrats Bonnie in MD!

Emmett ruled our home with a gentle paw for almost 12 years. He was such a blessing to our family. We lost him to kidney failure on 12 June 2015, but we are so grateful for the time we had with him – and thankful to the Siamese Rescue for allowing Emmett to become a member of our family.

Okay, so the truth is in the pudding. And I am just one heck of a pudding.

At first, I can be a little wary, a little nervous, a little defensive. Watch my videos though to see how fast I progress.

What I can guarantee you is that if you get past that first week, and if you and I work to bond, you are going to get one of THE nicest, THE most intelligent, THE most lovable, THE most devoted, THE most opinionated, THE most fantastic, Siamese partners you could ever ask for.

WOW is all Aunt Siri can say. It is SO worth it.

11/24/12 Adoption Day (Noelle+Opale=Nopale)
Against all odds I am writing this email with the girl sleeping on me...go figure!
We made it home safely. There were a few complaints along route 66 and then again on 270. I sang Noel, Noel along the way and she seemed to enjoy my voice. Lots of eye contact through the holes of the carrier.

Once in my den-which is going to be her suite- she smelled and explored pacing herself around the room with plenty of talk and sounds full of emotion. I left her alone while she did her reconnaissance and came back some time later. Tried to keep a low profile, wrapped myself in a soft blanket and laid on the couch to read her records-and observe her behavior. She came twice to smell me, first time sniffing around my head, second time it was my feet. Then, she came back and checked the blanket out. Eventually she sat on my belly and stated grooming herself. I stayed as relaxed as possible and still. She completed her task, then yawned and fell asleep. She did this twice so far.

Totally unexpected behavior as far as i am concerned.

Moreover i was able to reach for the phone and snap a few shots of her! And now i am maneuvering with an email. Interesting to say the least!? It speaks volumes about the work the VA Siamese Rescue does to assist these meezers adapt.

Will remain cautious and methodical with her during this transition time. SCD

11/25/12 First Day (Nopale -Opale= Noel)
Blessed Sunday! Litterbox activity and food intake happened. She slept on the blanket on the couch. She is now sitting next to me as you can see in the picture.
She was willing to play with the wand last night. A real kicker yesterday was her reaction to her own image on a large mirror i have in the den. As soon as she walked around the room she saw this cat image on the mirror and became fearful. She did not want to come even close but was very curious about this new situation her adopter put her in. Darn! There is another cat in this place!

I sat next to the mirror and made eye contact with her through the mirrored image, then i tapped with my fingers on the mirror just to show her this was not what she suspected. You could tell something clicked in her brain. After a few tries she came around behind me (outside the angle of reflection) and then-yes, she did it! She stretched her neck peeped onto the mirror, made eye contact with me, looked at her own image and tapped on the mirror herself. She has to have some smarts to do this.

I think i will call her Noel since she's in for a "new beginning".

The one thing i abstain myself from doing is reaching out to her with my hands. I will re-introduce this movement later on as she becomes used to my ways with her and develops trust.
Learning curve for both of us! SCD

11/26/12 Second Day "This is starting to look a lot like home"...
Noel is progressing nicely. I am establishing a number of routines during my visits with her and she seems to enjoy every single one. She loves to chase and play with the feather wand, then when she gets tired i dig in her goody bag and pick up her brush. I let her smell it first and after a couple of times i have come realize that she likes to be brushed, she also likes to brush on her own. Once in a while every time i brush her i stroke her gently with my hand. She sniffs it and is ok with my touch. Then it's the crispies, oh my she goes crazy over those treats! Finally, it is time to relax. I walk to the couch, stretch my legs, place a pillow under my head and read, answer emails, or do crossword puzzles while i wait for her to come by.

She walks several times around the couch "talking" and "cooing" until she stops and stares at me. You can tell something is cooking! Then she climbs on the couch and sits on me purring loud until she falls asleep.

She allowed me to pet her with my fingers around the muzzle combing her whiskers outward. Every time i paused i placed my hands still right in front of her and she sniffed and then licked as if grooming.

She is feeling more comfortable and less hypervigilant in her new home. This is a good start. SCD

12/1/12 First Week "Greetings from Maryland y'all!"
Noel likes to explore...Turns out she's been very curious about what's in the closet, so, she worked those sliding doors from the right and from the left until she opened them and was able to get in. She managed to climb two storage boxes full with Christmas ornaments, sit and watch around from her newly discovered perch. I had to smile, she's a lot of fun!

Noel earned a new label next to "not with kids under 5", "playful cat", "not with other pets let alone female cats"...She is a "LAP CAT"!!!!
Oh, yeah...This feisty girl with such bad reputation in NY, PA, and VA is now doing some damage control by showing me that she can also be a LAP CAT. At this point: I'm speachless! SCD

Change in schedule: I'm going back to work today. Spent some quality time with Noel early in the day and came back around 5pm. She welcomed me with plenty of excitement, rubbing, cooing, talking, purring, etc. She played tirelessly with the feather wand, in fact, "we played"...I trotted around the couch with the wand as if it were a teasing bird and she chased it. I stopped, she began stalking. I moved, she continued chasing. Natural instincts at its best! SCD

Noel passed a number of adjustment tests with colors during the past two weeks. She transitioned smoothly from the rescue to my house; from Siri to me; from vacation schedule to work schedule; I had company and I introduced her to them-hands off please-and it all worked just fine! This girl is a PRO. SCD

Merry Christmas, Kathi! Merry Christmas Siri! Noel turned out to be a lovely cat! No kidding! She loves to play catch, she also gets all fired up with the feather wand when i wave it circling it at high speed kind of like a bird would do. We play these action games for a good number of minutes every day. She actually asks for it by making eye contact and pawing the feathers herself! What a delightful cat she is. After releasing some energy, she is in the mood for some lap time, literally.
Once in a while she lets me pick her up, embrace, kiss and release. We are still working on this one. She learned the sequence and actually waits for the kiss every time. I respect her comfort levels and she seems to respond to the strategy very nicely.
Merry Christmas! Noel is home!

1/2/13 Noel passed the "we have company" test
I have to admit that she was very curious about my comings and goings around the house in preparation for my parties on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. But so was I, what if my little companion did not have a good reaction to this parade of family and friends? Having to put up with unfamiliar scents, voices, and noices may just cause a major setback to what has been very nice progress so far.

2/14/13 What a playful and obedient cat I got!
Time goes by and now I have a better understanding of why Noel had so many toys in her "travel suitcase". She loves to play with me and also when she is by herself. So far and only a couple of times, I noticed that the old biting habit resurfaced. My take is that she does it when she becomes "overexcited", there is a certain level of tolerance she has and she'll let me know. I follow Siri's advise of changing the tone of my voice to say "no" and indicate that "that's not cool". And for the most part I'd say that she stops and pays attention to the changing mood. I use this same tactic and carry it on further when I do not want her to enter another room: I command: "stop" and then "sit" and- maybe she learned this before- to my dismay SHE OBEYS. What? A cat? A Siamese cat that obeys? Believe me: it works every time!

4/24/13 Spring has sprung!
Oh, Yeah! I am not the only one that loves to sit on the porch and enjoy the first warm days of spring. I've got company! If the day is sunny and I am around we are TWO on the porch enjoying a sunny afternoon, the soft breeze and the oh-so-lovely scents of nature. My pal "the queen" loves to hear the birds calling in the woods behind my backyard and a couple of butterflies drawn by the flowers blooming on my deck amuse her in playful duettes. Lazy afternoons anyone?
My little Noel is like good wine, getting better and better over time. At this point she is like an extension of myself. Really. I had family visiting with me this year and she was so well adjusted, she behaved like a lady at all times. No signs of growing older either...She is as athletic and playful as when I adopted her 3 years ago. Beautiful work you do at the VA Siamese Rescue! Keep it up.
