Hi Kathi--
It 's hard the believe that two years have passed since we adopted Banks. He is doing beautifully! He is very playful and loves the game of fetch every morning. Every night he sleeps with me snuggled behind my legs. During the day Banks enjoys our screened in porch where he watches the birds at our feeders. Banks and his fur sister Russia have learned to get along nicely. He's been a joyful addition to our family! Thanks for all you do for the homeless kitties.

JUNE CARTER
I'm June Carter, and I'm trying to keep on the sunny side, although that's been a little hard to do lately. My companion and I were taken from our owner, who was too sick to take care of us, too sick even to say what our names were. Then we went off to a shelter, but there our luck changed. Lots of good people worked to get us out and bring us to Virginia via Meezer Express (what a wonderful group of folks!). We are a bonded pair of lapcats, and we must stay together (the circle can't be broken). And yes, we are singers. Johnny sings bass, I sing tenor. We went to vet today and impressed one and all with our gorgeous good looks, our sparkling teeth and overall good health, and of course our high-decibel singing. We need to be the only animal companions in a quiet home with folks who have time to spend with us. I'm a little more shy than Johnny, but will warm up to you right away.

KARA
Just arrived from a home with 35 other cats, so having a little quiet time during my isolation period is not a bad thing! I get to see Dr. Reinhold this week and then I'll be ready to go, I'm so far very wonderful and loving so expect good things in small packages (at 6 pounds.....) Congrats Pam in VA!

Notes from Home
Trisy (Kara) was a wonderful cat, started out pretty shy and never really warmed up to other people - she did show the husband attention and he learned how wonderful a cat can be.

she played fetch (i'd never seen this in a cat before) and loved to play with my christmas ribbons.

She came down with some kind of cancer (per the neurologist), lost sight in one eye, wasn't eating etc. and I had to let her go to a better place. : (

MISO
Very loving boy looking for a lap and someone to love. Playful, sweet and very people oriented.
Notes from Home
Miso has integrated relatively smoothly into his furrever home. He's playful, cuddly, and likes to groom Diala, his big "sister". While the two of them fight occasionally and roll around on the floor, they later will cuddle up near each other or chase each other around the house. They are both doing very well and seem very happy, often sitting next to each other on the window sill to watch the birds and squirrels. Miso is either hard-headed or slow, but he sure does like to scavenge for food on our plates and if he gets a hold of something, he'll drag it away into a corner and growl at any passersby. But otherwise, he's pretty good and likes to wake us up at 5:30 am with a paw to the face:)

10/21/14- While Miso and Diala rumble every now and then (the latest squirmish resulted in a slightly bloody ear for Miso), they find time to cuddle still! They are fat and happy and make us laugh every day with their very distinct personalities.

COLLEEN
If you're looking for a great balance between independence and loving, playing and snuggling, seriousness and humor, then I'm your gal. I'd like to be the one and only and I promise to keep you entertained with my silly antics, my playful nature, and my good spirits, but when it's time for settling down and getting some pets, I'm all about that too!

This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5
This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

Notes from Home
David. Miss Colleen is a hoot. She loves to play and run, run, run up and down the stairs and through the hallways. Her favorite toys are a feathered bird on a string, laser pointer and a tiny chirping parrot. She likes the venison food, has perfect litter box habits, she only scratches on her scratching posts and boxes. She is neat and clean. She gets along well with mom and everyone that comes to visit. She is a love to be around and we believe she loves us too. We are keeping her name since she was used to it when she came to us. She seemed to like her name and we felt it suits her. She has 4 different cat beds. The one she came with and three from the previous kitty that passed. She uses all of them without preference and she even slept with mom one night. We all feel lucky to have her as part of our lives. Debbie.

Sabrina has been such a blessing and I am so glad we found each other! She has adjusted so well! She is very payful and loves to fetch. I bought her Cat-Nip Bubbles...she loves them! She is so much fun and so sweet too. She will visit me in my lap when watching TV and she slept with me last night. She follows me room to room and we carry on converstaions----I swear she understands everything I am saying to her. She loves to sit in the window and get some sun. I have just melted and she is doing great, being loved and is feeling amazingly comfortable in her new forever home! Thanks to everyone at Meezer Express and to her Foster, Jasmine. I know all the TLC Jasmine gave Sabrina helped her do so well in my home and her transition!

COCO
I'll admit it - I am not purrfect. Sure I look like a confident guy but deep down I'm not very secure. Yeah I don't accept change well, but once I'm secure I settle down.
Okay so I'm a bit hand shy, I'm a tad bit of a recluse. But hey I lived with the same family for 8 years when the landlord said "he's gotta go" and found myself in a shelter. That's enough to scare any guy.
One thing I am is loyal. I adore sitting on the arm of the sofa and gazing at Foster M. I especially enjoy laying by the woodstove vent (I'm in New Hampsha....in the winter. Gotta love those woodstove vents).
I'll stick by you if you stick by me. Isn't that what it's all about? My other family didn't stick by me. I hope my new family will.

Notes from Home
Nearly 7 years ago I adopted Coco, an adult Siamese who was terrified of pretty much everything and would never allow anyone to hold him in their arms. We gave Coco a good life- healthy food, daily exercise, and a quiet home. Earlier this year however, Coco's kidney's started failing, and compounded with his age and other issues there was no hope of recovery. On September 16th we drove Coco around the neighborhood. He really enjoyed that, especially since he couldn't get around much anymore and hadn't had the energy to hop up to the house windows in months. After the sunset drive we brought him to Melrose Animal Clinic, where Dr. Low gave him a very peaceful sendoff in our arms- arms he had eventually learned to long for.

MR. BOOTS
Well you are crazy not to adopt me! Now that I have settled in, here's what I like: To lay on my back with my paws in the air and have you rub my tummy. To grab that catnip pillow by the corner and throw it hard across the room, then rumble over to try to catch it before it lands. To carry the furry mice around (I really like the blue ones) in my mouth. And to sit in your lap and be adored as the big adorable guy that I am!

I am all ready to go and I have my bags packed, with catnip pillow and blue furry mouse included. Just waiting for my ride home, are you coming?

Mr. Boots is doing pretty well. We still call him Mr. Boots or Booter. He has had a slow start. My girl Balinese has joined ISIS and she has not warmed up to him yet. She still is hissing. She even claimed his scratcher. But, Boots is ignoring her. I am kinda shocked by Sissy's behavior. But, Boots reclaimed his scratcher and coming out from hiding. He jumps up on moms bed and gets love. A couple of times this week, I found him sleeping in my bed. When he saw me he jumped down. He is welcome to sleep with mom anytime. He has decided he likes SIssy's food better than his..So he gets two kinds. All his habits are good. We have moved his litter box downstairs with the others. No accidents. He is a night owl. I hear him playing with his toys late at night. He snores too. He still does his back foot chin thing. I'm going to video tape it. It is so funny. We love him. Its gonna take time for him to fully trust us. He is easily spooked with loud noises and my mini terrorist. However, I think in time, Boots will be fine..Shanei

JOSIE
Video coming soon!

Josie is a BEAUTIFULLY marked seal snowshoe gal looking for a new home. She is a two years old and at 7.5 lbs is fully grown. Josie was given up by owners who could no longer care for her but who clearly loved her enough to make sure she was safely placed.. Josie is friendly, loves to be petted, purrs up a storm and loves to play with toys.

In isolation right now so not sure about other cats or dog friendliness but for as far as people....she loves them!

Stay tuned for updates~

Josie says Meer-aw! She is currently busy watching birds from the window ledge. She is a healthy girl - now 9lbs of cuteness. She is quite the social butterfly and very chatty. We refer to her as Meeowzers, She insists on chin rubs and brushing. We adore her - so much so that we got her a drinking fountain type water bow. She prefers to drink from the bathroom faucets and will beg incessantly if ignored - the new water bowl seems to satisfy her for now......
Her favorite blanket is the Steeler fleece! She talks to us all the time. She has tried very hard to train us to open the basement door because apparently the cat door is not her preferred entrance/exit. She is quite the personality and everyone who meets her instantly loves her!
We are truly grateful to all the volunteers at Siamese Cat rescue for such a good match and forever home.

6 month update;
Well.....Josie (or pretty paws - she has several nicknames) is doing quite well. Currently her favorite new toys are a paper bag and cardboard box and foil ball. Who needs expensive cat toys.....LOL! She is very vocal most mornings at 7 am....about her food dish regardless if it's empty or not. She has been a cuddle bug since the weather is cooler. She loves the fleece blankets. She is very nosy...which is good because she caught a mouse! She brought it upstairs to show us and let it go to chase it....around the dining room and living room. We had to catch and remove it....ick. But we were very proud of her! She has been a great addition to our home. She is chatty and makes her presence known and must know were we are in the house...she is too much fun! She greets us at the door - unless she napping :)
We love her dearly!

CINNAMON
**NEW PICS** Foster mom says that if you don't hurry up and adopt me, that she'll have to keep me herself, and she doesn't want 7 cats. But I say, 7 is the perfect number. Last night she told me that she wasn't going to get any sleep at all if I didn't stop purring. I give her little eye kisses in the middle of the night just so she knows that I am so very happy to have a nice warm place to stay. I feel so much better now than the day I arrived. No meezer yeowl here, but I do talk a lot.

Notes from Home
Cinnamon is the friendliest cat ever, whether to a repairman in the house or at the vet! He is purring so loudly right now (on the back of the couch behind my head) that I can barely hear anything else. He still has a sneezing and hacking issue, but we’ve just learned to live with it. His favorite toys are balls that he chases down the hall, and the red laser dot that he chases in circles around the kitchen floor.
