Notes from Home
1/10/16 Cary is running and playing throughout the house. His toys are also throughout the house. Cary started with the sparkly wand and the plastic doughnut as his favorite toys and is now playing with the little mice and other toys. Great recommendation from Kay to mix the dry food (Hills hairball/kitten mix) and adding warm water to the Fancy Feast food. The gift bag was a very nice surprise. He sleeps on and under the bed so far. I guess those are his safe sleeping areas. On 12/31/15 we took him to the vet where he was very calm. Health great - normal temperature, no worms, no fleas and no ear mites. His next appt is 1/28/16 for some shots. He still is skittish. A sudden noise or movement he gets nervous and may run under the bed. When sitting or lying down he does sit and lay next to you for petting and sometimes sleeping. He also walks next to your feet and when awake he is always watching us. The only negative of Cary is that his hisses when you walk toward him. He stands up and takes a few step backs, turns around and may hiss again. Then he runs under the bed. Once in the room, he approaches you normally. We are very happy with Cary.

We renamed Squiggy to Max. We waited a long time for him because he was really sick. Foster mom Michelle took very good care of him. He is doing great! Eating, drinking and using the litter box like a good boy! He is in isolation to make the transition as easy as possible. He loves to play and is full of energy but once he is played out he likes to cuddle. He has an awesome purr!! We are so excited to have him as part of our family. Thank you volunteers to make this possible!!

Notes from Home
Deegan is doing excellent! He is adjusting well to his new forever home. He gets lots of love and attention, no one can resist his blue eyes! He loves to play and be around the family. He is eating and drinking well and is scheduled with a vet checkup next week.
Nov 16, 2015
Deegan is doing wonderful. He loves mid afternoon cuddles and follows me around like a puppy! He loves to play with his toys, especially his feather wand. At dinner time when he hears me open his can food he comes running and jumps on the counter. I usually have to carry him and his bowl to the floor! He is just wonderful!
NOV 24, 2015
Deegan is happy as can be! He can be a little mischievous too, like unraveling the toilet paper roll and knocking over my plants lol. He loves to play in paper bags. I found that out after grocery shopping and had a few bags on the floor, next thing I knew he was inside them. He loves to help when I'm making the bed. He makes sure the sheets and blankets are to his liking! And if I'm doing laundry, he makes sure Im doing it right! He is a great supervisor. The kids really enjoy playing with him, he is quite fun to watch. My females no longer hiss at him, they all get along well.
Jan 5, 2016
Deegan had a wonderful Christmas! We took him on vacation with us to MA, I didn't want to leave him home alone for 8 days. He had a great time playing with my sister's kitty's! He was a very good boy and did not attack the Christmas tree, I was actually really surprised because I thought he would play with the ornaments. He has gained a few pounds and is looking healthy! On the cold days he cuddles with me under the blankets. We just love him!!

Notes from Home
It's been almost a week since Apollo and Daphne have been home! They are both doing GREAT and totally thriving! Both babies are eating wet and solid food, drinking lots of water, and using the litter boxes both #1 & 2 perfectly. They are so energetic, loving and playful.
Apollo cracks us up! He does a very silly move where he turns sideways, arches his back, puffs up and runs sideways like a crab toward Daphne or Sake during play. We looked it up and everything said it's him trying to instigate play and look bigger and more intimidating! It's very funny. He is a total clown with an adorable and silly personality. We expected him to be shy or timid but he is absolutely fearless! He is already getting bigger and so strong. He already climbs to the top of their kitty tree tower and loves sleeping in the sunlight and looking out in to the backyard at the trees and the occasional bunny. He loves the tower of tracks toy we bought for them and is super fast when chasing the kitty laser toy or mice.
While he's very energetic, he's also the most loving right now as far as warming up and being trusting toward us. He purrs as soon as he sees us in the morning and will run right up to us for pets and then lays down and shows us his belly to rub. He doesn't like being picked up, but loves to lay on and next to you for attention. Lots of tail twirling and playing. At night he lays by or on our feet in the living room and sleeps until we put them in " their room" for the night. He also seems to enjoy laying on the carpet next to Jon while he plays classical guitar. :) He's a total lover boy! Sweet and silly. Wants to be friends with Sake, but Sake is still not so sure about him yet! I think its a masculine/alpha cat thing. Sake is already coming downstairs more and more and spending time with them. He plays "tag" with them and has really enjoyed all of the new toys. Overall, it's been a great first week!
Update 9/18/15:
Apollo and his sister Daphne have been with us for one month today! It's hard to believe!
Apollo is doing great, and has become SO loving and affectionate! He is a total doll, and loves to cuddle and always be right under your feet no matter what you're doing. He has a silly and playful personality and has even become snuggle buddies with his big brother Sake! The first week Apollo and Daphne were here I would have never imagined them getting along so well with Sake, but now the three of them play for hours and then relax and clean each other before snuggling in one of their many beds around the house :) Apollo was a bit curious and naughty and got in to Sakes grown up cat food last week even though it was up on the shelf, and that gave him a tummy ache for a few days :( But he seems to be doing much better now. They are both going to go see Dr. Melivilu at our vets office for another check up on October first. :)
He's definitely grown a ton and I think he will possibly end up being bigger than Sake. He and Daphne play and wrestle and run up and down the stairs and all around the house every day. Apollo and Daphne seem to really like music! They are the first kitties i've ever had that actually spend time with me in my studio while I practice the flute, and they love to hang out downstairs on the rug with Jonathan while he plays guitar. Apollos orange points are starting to deepen and show a little bit of orange on his face now too. His nickname is Pinky because of his pink nose and feet :)
It's been a complete joy getting to know Apollo this past month and we are thrilled he is a part of our family! He seems so happy and settled already and that makes our hearts happy too. :) I will attach new pictures!
Update: November 29 - 2015
It is only fitting to give a quick update after Thanksgiving as we are SO thankful for Apollo and his sister Daphne! Apollo has grown so big and strong and is the biggest kitty in the house now. He is an absolute LOVE BUG and always wants to be in your lap and snuggling as much as possible. Apollo continues to be playful and goofy, gets along great with his sister and big brother Sake and is an absolute joy to have. He is definitely our lover boy! I will attach a new picture of our handsome boy. :)
Update: January 4, 2016
Apollo is the SWEETEST cat in the world. He becomes more and more snuggly every day. He is definitely happiest when he's in your lap being pet and talked to. Falls right asleep like a little baby in your arms. Extremely playful and curious. Very attached to his human mommy. Loves the piano! Truly the sweetest cat we've ever encountered. The vets love him so much because he is just so friendly and loving. He has grown so big and strong already. Gentle giant! Will post new pictures! :)

It's been almost a week since Apollo and Daphne have been home! They are both doing GREAT and totally thriving! Both babies are eating wet and solid food, drinking lots of water, and using the litter boxes both #1 & 2 perfectly. They are so energetic, loving and playful.
Daphne is absolutely stunning! She has really blossomed the last few days since coming home. She was quiet and very observant the first day or two, but now Sake and Apollo have trouble keeping up with her! She loves to climb and run up and down the stairs and sit up high in the kitty tree tower. She absolutely loves playing with peacock feathers and all of the toys! She has started warming up to us a lot more the last two days. She will come up to us and twirl her tail around us, and when we are on the floor with her she gives us little head but "hugs" and purrs loudly.
Daphne LOVES SAKE. The first day that Sake finally ventured downstairs to meet them, she ran right up to him to say hello! He is so much bigger than her yet he was the one scared! She kept on him and within 10 minutes they were playing a goofy tag game. Jonathan and I were so surprised at how quickly Sake took to her. It's been a joy to see him interact so sweetly with them so soon. He seems to have already "accepted" Daphne and the two of them seem to get along very well. She follows him around like a little puppy to the point where he gets a little annoyed! It's adorable. I do not worry about him and Apollo. I think he's just less intimidated by little Daphne. :)
Daphne doesn't seem to mind being picked up or held. Loves her scratch post and is very happy being around us and her brothers! Beautiful little girl!
Update 9/18/15
Daphne and her brother Apollo have been with us one month today!!
Daphne started out a little on the shy and independent side, but now she is the first one to greet us when we come home! She's our little morning girl, when we get out of bed to start the day she's right at our feet and follows us around downstairs while we make coffee and will lay on my feet or on the windowsill of my room while i'm getting ready for work or school. Her brothers are more lazy and like to stay in bed longer! :)
Daphne is so beautiful and sweet. She has this little chirpy sound she makes when she purrs that is adorable. She is often the instigator with Sake and Apollo for playtime and even though she's the smallest, she holds her own during wrestling! She loves to sprawl out and stretch her body while she lays down and almost looks like she's smiling when she falls asleep. Her little face is just so sweet. We love her so much already! I will attach recent pictures :)
Update: November 29- 2015
Daphne has changed so much in the past few months! When I say change, I mean she has gone from being a completely independent little girl who didn't want any any hands on her, to hopping in our laps and following us around the house everywhere we go. She is an absolute joy and SO funny. Daphne is our little clown in the house. She is the smallest, but runs the fastest, plays the hardest, and really gives her brothers a run for their money! She's not shy at all. Daphne is very healthy and beautiful. Her color points are darkening a lot and her cream and buff colors are becoming a deeper gray/lilac hue. She has what our vet described as tortie points developing on her face and little white rings on the furr around her eyes. She is also getting stripey on the legs! She's absolutely gorgeous! Daphne has a favorite toy now which is a fluffy little blue ball that she proudly carries around the house and sits on if she thinks another cat is going to try to take it from her. We couldn't be happier with our little princess and her brother Apollo! :) I will attach recent photos
Update: January 5, 2016
Happy New Year! Daphne and Apollo enjoyed their first holiday season with us and their big brother Sake. Daphne is wonderful. Her points continue to darken, her face is almost entirely grey now. She is beautiful and silly, loved the christmas tree! ( a little TOO much at times.. ha! ) She is such a goofy little girl, and obsessed with towels now, too. Give her a big fluffy kitty bed and she won't go near it, but a towel? All over it! I will post some new pictures. :)

SAMMY
I am beautiful, I am sweet, and frankly, my dear, I don't know why on earth I'm up here on Page 1!
I don't like other kitties - I guess that must be the problem. But surely someone is looking for just one kitty.
How about asking about me? If you have a quiet home, I'm sure we'd be great together!

Sammy

Notes from Home
1/9/14 - Ryan: Sammy has been home with us for four days now and she's starting to feel at home! She's sleeping on our bed, eating well, using her litter box, and playing with toys. She's even starting to explore the house a little bit. We are so happy that we found Sammy!!!
1/31/14 - Ryan: We took Sammy to the Vet on January 18th and it was a little traumatic. Going back into her carrier for the first time since we got her home definitely scared her and for the next few days she did a lot of hiding. But now we're making progress again! Sammy is getting more comfortable with the different parts of the house and she's a little talkative from time to time. Hard to believe that she's only been with us for four weeks!
3/20/14 - Ryan: Sammy has become much more comfortable and her personality seems to be showing more every day. Now that spring is coming she's spending a lot of time watching birds and rabbits in the window. She has started spending a lot of time downstairs and although still doesn't come in to sit with us when we watch TV, she likes sitting on the coach in the other room while we're downstairs. We celebrated her 4th birthday a few weeks ago and treated her to some deluxe cat food, a new toy, and a nice play space that allows her to sit in the window as well.
1/5/16 - Ryan: I can't believe we've only had Sammy for two years. It seems like she has been a part of our lives forever. She's such a good cat and we love her so much. Thank you Siamese Rescue for helping us find our baby cat! New pictures uploaded as well.

SHILOH
Need a loving, long and tall man for your house? One that likes to sit on laps, give hugs, and even chat with you? How about one that still plays with toys like a kitten? And being handsome sure doesn't hurt either, does it? I am a very affectionate cat, and love to sit on your lap. I talk a lot, so if you need someone to talk to then I might be the one - I will carry on a conversation with you, and if you won't talk to me then I'll talk to my toys.
Foster mom says I'm a gem of a cat and she doesn't understand why I'm not already taken. I eat what you give me, I am neat in the litter box! I've had dental work and bloodwork done, and Im a healthy guy for my age. I'm no kitten but I'm not an old guy either. So click that ask about me button, and we'll see if we're a match.

Notes from Home
While Shiloh was eating and drinking like a champ, and came out to nuzzle me a few hours after a very chatty ride home, he hadn't used his litter-box yet. No oops-es either so we were perplexed. I am pleased to say that shortly after Nancy's follow-up call, he hopped in and did his business! I suppose he was tired of hearing the election night coverage. ;-)
He's taken less than a day to completely warm up to me and is a lovely older gentleman! Aside from being the perfect "Teddy Meezer" at bedtime, he has an added bonus I didn't even expect. With his penchant for kneading, he gives excellent Meez-sages!
Thank you again, to all the volunteers that made it possible for me to bring this older gentleman into my life!!
*******************************************************************************************************************************
Shiloh's become the perfect companion and has taken quite nicely to his new kingdom. The look of amazement when he acclimated enough to get run of the house was so worth it. The drinking fountain, "mouse on a track" and the cat tree made quite an impression on him.
****************************************************************************************************************
I have been remiss on these updates, having instead shared our lives on facebook and sharing the Meezer love with friends and family! He travels with me when I visit my family on Long Island, since my niece and nephew adore him. He's even won over my mom, who is normally NOT a cat person, and is a perfect little gentleman.
We have even converted the households of a few of our friends into Meezer havens, and they have adopted masked temple guardians of their own. I know of at least half a dozen lucky Meezers throughout New York and New England that have found their forever homes after people have met mine.
In the time that I have had Shiloh in my life, I have adopted a little sister, Poppy [VA9779] and she has taken her duties as princess of the realm very seriously. They get along swimmingly and she travels alongside him, allowing my niece and nephew to count up all of her toes again and again. As is typical, it's the little one that is really in charge.
We have relocated as a family to a larger home in the Hudson Valley of New York, where they get full time love from me, as I can do most of my work from my home office. They also get to enjoy watching the birds go about their business and the turning leaves outside the living room window.
Sadly, autumn has come in more than one way for my handsome old man. Just this week, I noticed a bump on his jaw and a bit of blood in his food. Seeing as he has had dental issues in the past, I brought him in for what I expected would be treatment of an abscess and a crummy tooth (since he still as a few teeth left). That is when we got the devastating news: it wasn't a tooth, but rather a tumor. Worse still, because of its location, it is inoperable, and even if they could operate, the vet explained as gently as she could, the prognosis wasn't good at all.
Things were cleaned as best they could be, and the brave little man was given antibiotics and a steroid injection, and we are to follow up in a week to see how things progress and discuss the best options of treatment for his quality of life. This means good-bye is near- nearer than I had expected when I had adopted him, but I couldn't think of these years without my handsome little prince.
I am still in shock, but he's as brave and affectionate as ever. He is eating his mushy food like a champ and is for the most part his usual self, though a bit more low-key and quiet. He's been with me through so much, coming into my life after the loss of a long-term relationship and a cross country relocation. He has been my constant companion through some of the most difficult times of my life, and has seen me through to happiness on the other side. Can I do any less than return the favor in his own time of need?
I wish I could take this from him- I would do so in a heartbeat if it were in my power, but I will have to be content with making the rest of his days as good as they can so he can cross over safe, happy and loved.
*****************************************
01/04/16
This morning, I said good bye to my constant companion for four years. Shiloh was an awesome cat, a real charmer and a ladies man until the end. The past few months have been rough- oral squamous cell carcinoma is a terrible diagnosis, but he was as comfortable and spoiled as he could be for as long as possible, even getting to hold court on Christmas day with his favorite kids.
Rest well, happy, healthy, and whole one more, and may there be no shortage of sun puddles to bask in and arms to love on.

Foster Notes for Columbo [VA10912] |
Super playful, fun and smart! Columbo does have a cloudy right eye that will probably remain that way. We don't know if he was born that way, or if it is the result of a respiratory infection he had before coming into rescue - but that's the way it is. |

Notes from Home
Meeeooowy Christmas everyone! I just got to experience my first Christmas! Boy, that was a blast! Not that I already didn't have a ton of toys and things to play with and was spoiled to begin with, but wow! This Santa Claws guys is great! He brought me a ton of stuff! And we got a real tree in our living room!! I loved hanging out underneath it! I did't climb it, and left the stuff on it alone for the most part.
I'm a whopping 7 months old now! And I'm a big boy! My daddy says I look like a billy goat because my belly sticks out on the sides. I'm still pretty active, and I love to play with my birdie toys. I love the ones that make noise!! I love to snuggle with my mommy too. I am such a big snuggle bug! I still think I'm tiny, and can easily fit on her chest below her chin, she doesn't think so though... I get along with my older "brother" for the most part. I try to be good and snuggle in for a nap with him, but I can only lay there for a bout two-three minutes before I have to play with him. He just wants to sleep, not me though. He gets mad me and leaves. I try to be good. It never works out so good for me... I got a new kitty city and man, I love that thing!! I claw at the posts, and love to climb and play all over it! We also got a new porcelain water fountain pagoda so we also have fresh filtered water to drink, super yum! I like to wash my paws, then walk around the tile floor, that way my humans can easily find me, because I know they can't see as good as me, so I have to leave them a trail. Speaking of seeing. My eye has never gotten better. The doctors have checked me out, and I even went to an animal eye specialist. They said not much could really be done. but that's ok, I'm indoor only, and my bad eye doesn't hinder me. I'm just the pretty blue eye boy. I feel I got pretty lucky with my family. They shower me tons of love, snuggles, kisses, and ear munchies! Me and daddy like to play chase and "get daddy", where he runs away from me and hides, and I chase him and get his leg! I'm always a good boy, I never claw him though!! So, I am doing really good! I am a really happy little boy, who still loves to play a lot, I like to run around super fast, and growl when I do. I have a great home, a great family, and I am doing great!! I hope you all have a great new year!

TINK
I am just about over my shelter sniffles. I felt pretty bad for awhile but now that I feel better I am showing my sweet side. I have very dark points but I am a young cat. I have light blue eyes and I like to give you sweet looks. Not sure how cuddly I will be but I like lots of pets.
UPDATE:PLEASE READ. Well foster mom has been looking at other cats and has decided I look more Burmese. I seem to also have a lot of the personality of the Burmese breed.. I am doing very well now, have my appetite, and loving life. I had my vet exam everything looked good. No issues found. Foster mom is about to put up some video of me playing.

Notes from Home
Tink is doing fantastic here in Orlando, and we are so glad she's here. She integrated wonderfully, still loves her feather toys, and is still a little puzzling to her big brother Link. But he's glad to have her too. Pictures coming on the next visit!
One year with Tink and she's doing better than ever. We've encountered some significant fastidiousness with the condition of her letterbox, but have adjusted accordingly. I don't think she'll ever be a true lap cat or carry cat, but she's become bonded to mom enough to regularly snuggle on my chest. She is the most fiercely vigilant cat I have ever had with a regular routine of watching for "yard intruders" from every window in the house possible.
