IZZE
8 months old and four pounds, how is it possible? Well grow up outside where you were ever so hopeful someone would scoop you up and take you home and love you, and it just didn't happen until one day, finally, it did! Well, the shelter anyway, not home, but it's a start! I have some learning to do (watch my video and laugh!) but I'll figure it out, I'm a smart, but small, cookie, er gumdrop!

Notes from Home
2/26/14 It has been just about a month since we brought our new Izze home. We figured it would be a long process due to she was approx 8 months and found outdoors. She hadn't had human contact or ever seen a toy. She would barely let us hold her for 10 seconds. Each week, we got more holding time and we are probably up to a minute or more. Well to our surprise within 2 weeks she was snoozing in our bed at night, playing with toys, and starting to play fetch with her favorite toy ball. At 3 weeks one Sunday afternoon, she walked up my lap to my face and kissed me on the lips and took not one but two naps on my lap! What a wonderful feeling of accomplishment, love and trust! IShe now greets us at the door instead of running away. We are so proud of Izze and fall more in love with her everyday.

It is 3/7/13 Izze has brought us so much joy. She has decided since she is a member of the family now, she insist sitting on the third barstool at the breakfast bar. We just showed her pictures of our new males snowshoe Tucker to join our family later this month. We will update with that introduction later.

3/12/14 Miss Izze has been walking on the counter tops. Dad made a nice big ham sandwich for lunch and while he was busy making his drink, Izze decided that looked like something I would like too. She took a nice piece of ham, jumped on the floor and enjoyed it? Now we need eyes on both sides of our head. Daddy gets up very early for work and now we secure all foods in his lunch box under lock and key :)

3/23/14 Very exciting day at Izze's home! Today is the day we bring home her new kitten brother Tucker! We will be getting on the road in two hours to meet outside Richmond Va. We have Tucker's room setup butI, Izze doesn't seem interested at this point. Foster mom Kathy in N. Carolina has given us great info as though we were right there on Tucker's daily progress. More info on the reunion later. Wish us luck:)

4/1/14. Izze is doing well w/ her new brother Tucker. We introduced them Sunday after a week of isolation. She had this low growl sound every time he came around. Tucker didn't care, he looked at her as though to say "do you have something stuck in your throat". She has even become more lovable and has become more of a lap kitty. They are so cute together.

4/6/14. Izze seems to really enjoy her new brother Tucker. They enjoy chasing each other and playing hide and seek. She also loves that he doesn't eat as much as she so she can finish his wet food which is her favorite. She has learned a lot from Tucker like being more affectionate and crawling up on our lap for pets :)

4/17/14. Izze has turned the corner. We are so proud of her! Her new brother Tucker has really taught her many things. She is giving head butts, tries to crawl up my leg, loves being held. She lets her new brother wash her face and clean her ears. She will sit and cry if she can't find him until he comes to her rescue to make sure she is alright. Love her!!

4/30/14. Izze is doing great. Aunt Siri you wouldn't think I am the same meezer. She is so sweet and such the princess. She loves her brother Tucker. They have their own vocab when they can't find each other. Izze is reaching out with head butts for affection which is new in the last couple weeks. Love our sweet Izze girl😽

5/18/14 Happy First Birthday my beautiful Izze💞 She is so quiet, sweet and chubby! She loooooves to eat anything! We only give her wet/ dry kitty food with only exception is a bite of Dads eggs in the morning. She loves to clean up any remaining wet food her brother Tucker leaves in his bowl. She loves to always be by our side, following us all around the house. Her brother has taught her a lot and they are BEST friends. You have come a long way baby! So happy for u!!

7/20/14. Izze always still continues to amazes us. Her confidence shows more and more. Izze is the queen of this house, just don't let her know it's really meowme! She still has a raging appetite and would eat all day if allowed. Her tutu is a little snug in the hips. I will need to speak to Aunt Siri at kennel duty this weekend about diet:) We are coming up on 6 months she we brought her home. Hard to believe she was quite the project cat. Her little brother has taught her a lot and they are the best of friends..

SHADOW
I am a congenial, playful kind of guy. Just wait until my photo shoot so you can see how handsome and energetic I am. Oh, and I like to snuggle to!

Notes from Home
It has been a busy fall for us as the weather has turned cold and we are trying to put our gardens to bed. Shadow seems to enjoy the cooler house. He has two speeds; very fast and nap He plays hard and he sleeps hard. Does not want to cuddle except on his own terms. Shadow and our other cat thinks that 4:00 am is a fine time for everybody to get up and start the day.

His eye infection has cleared up; it took pretty strong medicine. He eats well and has put on weight. He is a solid cat and looks like there is some English Bull Dog in him. He has visited the vet several times with his eye infection. The vet has said that he is a good looking cat and except for the infection he was a healthy cat.

We are very happy that he is a member of the family.

STEVIE RAY
Dennis the Menace here. Well, foster mom says Im not really a menace just a curious, adventurous young fellow. She says that must be what landed me at the shelter. They said I was a stray she thinks I must have gotten too interested in something and wandered off. I sure was happy to see her and to check out my new digs. Im not feeling quite so adventurous right now, as Ive caught a cold during my travels. Ill be better in no time, though, and ready to explore and play with you. PS: We dont know yet if I really want to live with a dog named Ruff or not. More later on that. Congrats Donna in NC!

Stevie Ray (formerly Dennis) is a gorgeous, happy boy. He grew up with 2 dogs and after they passed away, he and I missed them very much. I adopted a cat (Rosie) for Stevie and later, inherited by Mother's cat, Bootsie. So now Stevie lives with 2 feline sisters. He is a sweet natured, laid back guy--a true joy, with 4 white feet and powder blue eyes. He is very special!

MYNG SU LEE
Hi, I'm Tallulah!

I'm here with my brother T-Bone and boy are we glad to be out of the woods! Ticks and fleas and dogs oh my! We're getting the royal treatment here in Southern Virginia and the landlady is fattening us up on wonderful vittles. Please ask about us a pair, or, if you have us in mind as a playmate for a kitty you already have..well..that'll work too!

Ta ta for now!.

Tallulah
Notes from Home
8/13/10 Myng had her follow-up appointment at Vet's today. She traveled very well in the car. She had her Rabies vaccine, and received a very good review with her check up.Plus to offers to take her home. After 31/2 weeks she now weighs 4.16lbs. Her brother is now bigger then her and starting to get back at her. She is the queen of her new home and no one seems to mind being her servant.
7/17/13 Myng is now 3 years old. She is 7.5 lbs. She is beautiful with her long blue and cream fur with a huge tail that stands up and curls forward when she runs. She is very patient with her brother who's a bit of a bully. Don't worry she can hold her own! She is more of a talker then Chang and demands attention but, on her terms only!. She is an amazing jumper and loves to chase her shadow up the wall. Her favorite snack is some fresh catnip leaves.
7/17/14 Today Myng is with us 4 years. She had her check up last month and her claws cut for the first time in a year! She hates having them cut. She has started purring more and licking mom's arm when she's happy. She is much more calm and relaxed and even comes out to visit guests now.

CHANG HUN LEE
Hi there!

I'm T-Bone. Hoping to grow into my name in the coming weeks, but right now I'm more of a petite filet... I'm the smallest of my siblings Tullulah, Bleu and Lelani, and I also like to think that I'm the more dignified and demure. So far I haven't succumbed to rolling in my food or pooping in my bed, which seems to be their favorite pastime.

Mommy says that you should know that I am a very fair-haired lynxie and may not be as distinctive in appearance as some other kitties. My points are very light grey, with more distinctive lynx spots starting to appear on my mask. I say you should know that I won't roll in your food or poop in your bed... I mean... let's have some priorities here.

I'd sort of like to go home with my sister Tallulah if you're looking for a pair. If not, then please keep in mind that I'd like another furry to play with. I need that.

Notes from Home
7/17/13 I can't believe it's already been 3 years. My children have grown so big and beautiful. Chang was the runt of the liter and is now 15.5 lbs! He is sweet, gives kisses and is always at the door when I come home. He plays hard, eats well and sleeps like a child(you can't wake him). It's the perfect time to clip his claws. He has the littlest meow for such a large boy, but he lets you know when he wants something. He loves to shut doors!
7/17/14 Today is our four year anniversary. He saw Dr. Bell last month for his check up and all is good. He is still growing @ 16.1 pounds, but he runs and plays hard. He loves fresh cat nip and chasing his sister around the house.

LANNA
Sweet as sweet can be. My only requirement is that you have a lap for me to curl up in. I just love to be held and have the deepest purr.

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
It has been 1 month since adopting Lanna. She is now called Layla. Close enough name, but I kept saying layla instead of lanna, so it stuck! She is quite a southern belle!
Amber boy and her get along just fine. Amber is the calm older brother , orange tabby. He watches out for her, and tries to show her the ropes for the house, and she tends to follow his lead. They share the cat tree, but layla tries to move Amber out of his top seat, he either decides to stay and push her back to the lower level, or just move and curl up under the curtain...which she prefers to eventually lay next to him by the curtain. They run and play up and down the hallway and steps! Layla holds her own to what appears rough play by larger Amber , and sometimes she approaches him and jumps on his back for a play attack!
Her favorite toy is a squeaky mouse on a string that hangs off a door, but quickly she breaks it away, carrying that mouse all over the place, making all kinds of talking noises to show us her prey. I have to hide it a night, otherwise I wake up at 1 am to her chatter about this squeaky mouse! She is talking a lot more, and makes quite a fuss over feeding time . amber has learned how to sit quietly before getting his food dish, and just last weekend Layla sat on command and waited for her dish! Both cats at the same time, yeah!
She has seen the faucet running water for the first time, it scared her, just like the shower. Still too little to jump up on the cabinets , thank goodness, little thing!
Now that I found this page for updates, will add on as I see fit.
Thank you all for your help in bringing little lady Princess Layla to my home!
Will send a picture soon
Vicki
Addendum:
Layla is a ball of energy, and she chats about whatever is on her mind. . She is not too much of a lap cat now, too interested in exploring or finding something to play with. Granted, she likes to be held and carried around ( while she is checking things out at her new height in my arms) . Is calm about being held, but, she lasts all of 2 minutes in my lap, purring the whole time, but she is off my lap to play with something. It took her a few weeks to figure out when my car pulls into the garage, but as of 1 week ago, she is now the first one to the door to greet me , talking ! I always take time to greet each cat one by one, holding then and petting them hello! Layla is chatting and purring, Amber is purring (he doesn't talk much)
Poor Amber - he is a calm cat, and does a great job in tolerating Layla's energy. She rubs against him a lot, meowing, and he turns his head to avoid her constant tail flicking his face. His tail is also fair game for her to play with. Amber takes the toilet paper off the roll, and then pushes it under the door to Layla, who pulls it from under the door to distribute it all over the room. What a system!
Layla tends to follow me around more in the last week, instead of following Amber, who is more independent.
Bedtime, once I turn off the TV and say "goodnight " Amber goes to his usual place on the bed next to me. Due to layla wanting to play while he wants to sleep, he will move to a chair next to the bed. Layla will then calm down, and go to sleep in the cat tree downstairs, but sometime during the early morning, make her way to the bedroom, where the 2 of them start the roughhousing , bunny kicking, hide n seek and attack, chasing each other all over the place. Amber is twice as big as Layla, so I feel sorry for her when he gets a little rough, his weight must be heavy for her...and I hear her give a little cry..but she is fast, and runs under the bed for a time out. Then she runs out and initiates an attack on Amber, and she chases him.
Funny, in the morning, Amber does not want Layla on the bed, and will "guard" the bed. All is ok once we head down the steps for breakfast. So, mornings are quite active around here.
Wonder is she will will grow any more. She has gotten a little larger than when I got her 1 month ago.
Vicki

BETTY
Just arrived today and all foster meowm and the teen bean can say about me is Wow, your beautiful! *Blush* Since those two are so caught up in looks I guess I'll have to be the one to tell you a little about myself.
I'm a little girl and very friendly. I love to be held and cuddled close. I also like to talk quite a bit. Now don't worry, I'm not loud or obnoxious or anything like that, I just have a lot to talk about. I have lived with another cat before, foster meowm and I think that I'd probably like to do that again.
Foster meowm tells me tomorrow I get to spend the day at the kitty spa getting all prettied up and then I'm having some glamour shots taken. Check back soon and tell me what you think about them.
Until then, purrs Betty
Update 6/30/05: I'm not really much of a lap cat but I always want to be right with you. Sleeping close to your side in bed, sitting close to you while your sitting, following alongside of you as you go about your way and if your doing anything and I mean anything, I'm always more than willing to "help" you with it :o)

Betty is doing wonderful! She is a chatty little cat and tries to rule the roost here. She even likes to sit on my lap now.

Betty has become quite the little social kitty! She greets everyone who comes in and is still a chatty girl. She now lets me pick her up and has become quite the lap sitter too.

She is also a kleptomaniac, squirreling away anything small she can find. Thank goodness I know her hiding places so I can find my stuff. lol

DEANDRA
Wowza - they don't make them any better than this... what a super sweet girl! Loves to lay in laps and gives sweet head butts... a real lover of a girl.

Notes from Home
We knew it was going to be a great match, when on the ride home from picking Deandra up, she was curled up in the front of her carrier to be as close to us as possible. When we got her home, she went right to explore her new home and her new family. She is really happy, cuddling and purring all the time. She's a super sweet cat and we couldn't be happier to have her in our family.

A little over a month later, and we couldn't imagine life without our little girl. She's the sweetest and still loves cuddling and giving head butts. Now that's she's a little more comfortable, she's super playful. She seems right at home, following us from room to room. She's such a great addition to our family!

Deandra's been with us a year now, and it feels like she's been here forever. She's taken up bird watching, sunbathing, and power napping as hobbies, and she's excellent at both! But her favorite thing to do is definitely cuddling. We're all healthy and happy.

7/16/13 I want to thank every one who had a hand in bringing Serge to me. It was a 13 hour trip for him and he arrived full of good humor. I feel like he has been here forever. He talks, so I am looking forward to our political discussions. What an amazing organization. Watching the meezer express at work was awesome. Serge thinks that his new home in Virginia is going to be ok...S
1/13/14 Serge is now known as sache aka Versace aka fursace. He is a terrific. I do think he is a tonkanese. Half Burmese half siamese. He's probably much older than 8 however. I think he was depressed when he first got here, I know he had a lot of losses. Do you know what his real name was? Anyhow he is doing just great now. He charms everyone with his sweet, loving nature. He relates to men and loves scrambled eggs. He has definitely chosen me...he really does't like other cats invading his space. I don't do computers well, but i will try to be more communicative in the future. Thank you for getting sache to me...it is a very happy match. Susan
7/13/14 Please forgive my lack of communication I have a terrible time with computers. Serge, now known as satchi, is not doing well. He is the most adorable kitty and very much loved, but he is in renal failure. Only 25 per cent of his kidneys are working. He started really losing weight about a month ago. I tried lots of deferent foods to no Avail. I am going to inject fluids starting today. Satchi has been very happy here. He is so vocally expressive that I forget he is a cat. I love him dearly and so we are going day by day. I will really miss our long conversations. Say a prayer for him. His only bad habit? He will sometimes bite my toe! Susan

BRIE
FAMILY CAT, FAMILY CAT, FAMILY CAT

There was a big party today and I bribed one of the kids to let me out. I loved all the people, kitty kisses everywhere. I even played in the wrapping paper with the big cat who lives here. I did some exploring, but I found foster mum everytime she called me. I don't think I have ever purred so much.

I am finally over the shelter cold, but I haven't figured out what that little thing following me is all about. I keep trying to attack it and make it leave me alone. Sometimes I hurt it and we need to make it heal over again. I don't know where my lovely long tail went, but this little stub can't be mine.

Everybody thinks it was funny that I like to start conversations with a "hiss, hiss, growl", but I'm so tiny, I need to make you think I'm fierce.

I am a little bit over a year old, so I probably won't get much bigger. Foster mum thinks I will look really good when I reach 6-7 pounds.

We will need a couple more days to assess how she is doing post-surgery for the removal of most of her tail (a very long story and a remaining 2" bobtail), and she still has some sneezes.

El brillo de mis ojos
(English: The Brightness of My Eyes) But you won't need a translating dictionary to work with Brillo, she is as bright as her eyes.

Brillo is a beautiful little girl who will reward you with all her love and kisses.
Notes from Home
Brie is doing great.. She is constantly entertaining us with her robust energy. She is a great bug hunter, so we have no issues with bugs in the house. She loves her play tunnel as you can see in the picture, and she makes our older cat Chia get his exercise if he likes it or not. We have had no issues with her at all from the get go. Brie is a great addition to our family.
