MAC
Hi,

I looked pitiful, in my first photo, but that was me in the shelter. Now I'm in a safe place and already had a bath and feel better. I was so good for that, and now I have a soft bed to snuggle into. I'm skinny and need to eat all the good stuff I'm given here so I can be as handsome as I was meant to be.

I had my "education" yesterday and did fine, and now I'm going to eat my time away until Meowmy finds me my forever home.

Ask about me but I won't be ready to go home until around the 22nd of Feb., so for now I'm going to chill out and settle in.

Purrs,

Hooki (who key)

Mac is doing fantastic. He is a very loving and affectionate cat. He has fit right into our family. I can't tell you how much we love him. He gets along with all our pets. Sammi our other cat, has accepted that he is not going anywhere. She is letting him get a little closer everyday. They do play together all the time.

Mac has been the perfect addition to our family. He has built a beautiful relationship with every person and pet in our home. He has just had a check up and his yearly vaccines. All good. He just has such a beautiful personality. My kids tease and say he is my favorite. Because I never have anything negitive to say about him. LOL

SIMON
Just settling in here at foster mom's house. I walked right in and acted like I owned it!
I'll tell her more about me as we get to know each other. I already know I must go to a home who has active cats for me to play with!

Notes from Home
Hi, all. This is Simon, checking in at the 2 year mark. I am a very happy boy. I love laps - anyone who is sitting on the sofa, the floor, the bed is fair game for me. I saw the vet yesterday for my check-up, and he raved about what a sweet, beautiful boy I am. I am still big at 15 lbs, but lost some weight from last year and I'm still working on it. I'm a busy guy though, and spend lots of time chasing my gal pal Fiona around the house. She gets a bit hissy about it sometimes, but then she'll turn around and chase me, so I know she really likes me.

I have identified all the good sunning spots in the house, have a hidden stash of de-tailed furry mice somewhere (none of the humans seem to know where.) I no longer eat out of anxiety (from my kitten days) and love my people. I don't like to get picked up - I'll mew in my tiny little voice - but I will be all over you once you put me down!

I am so happy here in Harrisburg! My family loves me and are so glad I came to stay. My pictures do not do me justice, but here are a couple just to give you an idea of how I look now.

-------

Hello to Everybody at SCRC! I'm updating you on my happy self. I am the ruler of my household. I sit on laps, I take over the beds, I sprawl on the couch and snooze in the sun. I love my boys (teenagers have comfy beds, don'cha know) and sleep on Mom's feet every night.

My annual check-up went great, and (as usual) everyone at the vet's raved about how handsome and sweet I am. Don't like that thermometer, though. I was totally calm about getting in my carrier to go, but Fiona had to kick up a big fuss and got me riled up. I don't usually meow, but I sang all the way to the vet's!

Still a big boy, but healthy. I'm a happy lug here in Harrisburg. Sure am glad I made it to Siamese Rescue as a kitten. Shout-out to Jen, who was my awesome foster mom! Make sure you check out my new close-up!

Purrs,
Simon 3/19/11

-------

Happy 4 Year Anniversary! Simon here, checking in to let you know that I continue to be happy, healthy, and thriving in Harrisburg, PA! Everyone knows I am top cat here. I was driving Miss Fiona a little crazy by wanting to chase her, so in June I got my very own kitten, Boomer.

Boomer was the runt of his litter of barn cats. His head was twisted sideways, but the dad of the family that rescued him is a chiropractor and worked on him until he was all fixed. You'd never know he had a problem. He came to live with me when he was 9 weeks old, and I spent almost 2 weeks wondering what was behind that door! Now Boomer is my buddy. We play chase and wrestle, and I have even lost a little weight from the exercise! We hang out together and I let him groom me, which is very nice.

Everybody loves me. One of my boys will be going to college in the fall - I don't know how I will feel about this, but his bed will continue to be MINE. At night, I am part of the 3 Cat Wall Box around meowmy.

Thanks to everybody at SCRC who helped me to find my way home. This is the BEST!

Simon 3/15/12

Hello Everybody! Simon here, celebrating my 8th anniversary of coming home!

I am a big, happy, snuggly bundle of Siamese love. Just had my yearly check up and got a full dental cleaning. My teeth look gorgeous! I have all my favorite lounging spots, and none of my feline siblings dare to take them without asking first. For the first time in the 4 years since Boomer came to live with me, I have discovered that it is really, really nice to cuddle with him. Mom is surprised every time she finds us together, but she's so happy for us to have found a new bond. I still bother Fiona, but even she is willing to hang out with me sometimes.

I love my home and my people. I will always be grateful to SCRC for helping me find my way home.

DILLINGER
7/7/09 - UPDATE UPDATE READ ALL ABOUT IT!
I'm not a girl after all! I'm a really nice guy!!!! Foster Mom took me in for my exam today and boy was she surprised! It's amazing I'm still so sweet because I was walking around with a 22 caliber bullet under my right front leg but the doctor took it out. Foster mom still has it if you don't believe me! I also limp on my back right leg. Know why? It was broken by another gun shot wound but it was a long time ago and it's all healed but it healed a little crooked so that's why I limp. It doesn't hurt or keep me down or anything like that. It just makes me more charming. So, if you weren't asking about me because you thought I was a girl, ask about me now if you're looking for a really great guy!

7/3/09 I just arrived after being sprung from a few days in the shelter. I was wandering around the streets and got busted. My past is a mystery to everyone but my future is bright! Even though foster mom doesn't know much about me she does know that I'm a really nice laid back gal. I took my bath and nail trimming like a champ. Check back for more updates as foster mom and dad get to know me but please feel free to ask about me and get on my list and foster mom will keep you updated with all the news about me.

Notes from Home
Dillinger lost his playmate Carina (previously Calypso) in May 2015. It took him 5 months before he would go to the window area where they both slept and looked out the window after she passed away. I wanted to see how he would do without her before determining whether he would like another playmate. He is very affectionate (always has been). He takes advantage of me by manipulating more food when he wants it as to when a logical schedule would allow. He loves to play with his squishy sparkly balls and wand toy. He is such a love bug that it is difficult to wake up for work because that would mean I would have to separate from his arms around my neck and his face on my cheek. He likes to be wherever I am and prompts me if I am not giving him 100% of my attention (he is so right!) If not with me he likes to have a sight line of me in the apt. He has always been a little soldier/sentry. In the evenings and mornings he would usually do his paces through the hallway like he was checking the area out before all of us emerged from the bedroom or bathroom.

Joey is now DILLINGER and he is such a sweetheart! He loves spooning...as I do with him. Carina sleeps in between my legs under the covers and as long as she is unawre of his presence on the bed, he will nest himself next to my head and chest. If Carina comes up for air from under the covers and discovers him, he will quickly get down and she will assume the sentry position on the bed.

They take turns chasing each other and yesterday Carina was roosting on the bathtub ledge between the shower curtain and liner. Dillinger got on his hind legs as best he could and forcefully shoved her shadow with his front paws. She flew into the tub. She was physically fine and when I looked in the tub, she had an expression that said, "What the h*** was that sh** about?!" Dillinger has amazingly strong arms...I suspect from when he was healing from his gunshot wound, he was using his upper body and arms entirely.

October 2009 - Carina is now allowing Dilinger to sleep on the bed at nights! Of course, there are conditions - my body has to serve as an island between them (Carina to my left, Dillinger to my right) and only Carina is allowed under the covers with me...unless we can sneak him under the covers after she has drifted off to sleep.

I was cooking late Friday night for a dinner party and was pleased and surprised to find them both lying at my feet in the kitchen playfully flittering their paws together...needless to say the little spats crop up every now and then, but it does get better and better between them every day.

I see them in my bay window when I come home at night with Dillinger sometimes trying to hide part of himself behind the curtain - as if I won't see him. I can now even have them both each together on teh kitchen floor instead of having Carina eat on the counter.

July 2013 Update:

Carina and Dillinger their friendliness to each other. Carina more often goes to Dillinger and tucks in under his paws and awaits him licking her head and ears. She accepts his bear hugs and occasionally when it si far too much together time, Carina and Dilinger will give each other slaps and move on.

A coupl e of years ago Carina required the remainder of her teeth to be removed. What an improvement it made to her disposition.

Dillinger has always been a practical guy and loves breaking down boxes and shredding newspapers recently. The newspaper shredding happens when he feels he needs to be fed again (usually within a coupl e of hours from a previous feeding). At times I think Carian and Dillinger are working together - if they are not getting what they want immediately and there is nothing for Dilinger to shred on the floor or within his reach, Carina accommodates him by knocking over my mail from a higher table in ordetr fo rhism to have something to shred.

Dillinger is like a soldier (I suspect from his on the street days). In the mornings, he likes to patrol the apt - wlaking back and forth, keeping an eye on where me and Carina Jr. are with the usual lying in doorways that afford him full view of the majority of the apt. The chasing he and Carina do has improved his agility despite his weight gain (of which I am trying to reduce). He hops up on coffee table he wasn't savy doing so in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if he does push ups while I am work.

As Carina is leaner and more agile than he, he can get seemingly jealous if he feels she is getting more food than he does. They will be going for their annual vet visit (shots, etc) in about a week. I will need to prepare early in order to get them in their carriers (Dillinger more so). He is something of a stratgegist who is always wise to my tactics (including somet pictures).

(Apologies...I had submitted the following update at the top of all the comments - was doing it from iPad and it was difficult to scroll down so I wanted to include properly— I noticed it shows Number of Cats 0 in the Application Progress. I still have 1 cat (Dillinger; the 2nd cat I had, Carina passed away last year) Dillinger lost his playmate Carina (previously Calypso) in May 2015. STATLER
How 'bout an armload of lovin'?

Hi- George here, but meown really calls me " 'Tater "..... I may be a bit on the hefty side, but then you don't have to worry about me pulling your drapes down like some of those wiry types! I'm not one of those intense meezers who is going to wake you up at 4 a.m. with questions about the meaning of life. I'll be too busy keeping your toes warm!

I give lots of head butts, and come when called! I will greet you with my funny creaky meow, and let you know how my day has been. My litterbox habits are impeccable, and I'm not a picky eater :^) . I love a warm cuddle on your bed and head scritches. Want a cat to man the sofa with you while you watch TV? That's me! I'll snuggle in your lap and gaze up at you with my HUGE blue eyes. I had a home once, but my meown got a new kitty and I got sent back.. so now I'm at foster meowms, hoping you'll PICK ME(!). I get along great with foster meowm's other cats; I'll respectfully touch noses with the top girlie, and the boysie and I romp for hours around the house. We all sleep own meown's bed together at night. I'd be okay as only, too, because I'm definitely a "people" cat. I follow foster meowm everywhere she goes like a d*g! I've already had my first slumber party with little Beans! How about a gentle, low-maintenance meezer-boy to keep you warm on a cold winter's night? Pick me!

Love, 'Tater
(oops! I mean "George"!)

Statler's doing pretty well for a 16 year old! His favorite active time is still between 3am and 5am, running up and down the stairs and meowing by my head. And he adjusted very well a couple years ago to a new dog.

CARINA
Can I help you? Yes, I am regally gorgeous, yes, I am descended from royalty, yes, I am highly intelligent, and yes, I am a superb Meezer. Being a bit on the nozzle-nose side, I do have my dental issues, and will need some additional dental work over the next few years, but for now it's all taken care of and I'm looking for a home that needs someone to supervise everything under the roof! Notes from Home
Carina (previous Calypso) passed away in May 2015 due to stomach cancer. She and Dillinger (previously Joey) became very close despite her alpha, princess ways. She would be chased by Dillinger knowing she old out run and jump him as he has a limo because of his shattered femur. He gave her a run for her money though...and if he caught her, she would would be humbled by her shame. She would always go to him to curl up and he would put his arm or leg around her adn groom her until she had enough or until they fell asleep together. She was a wedgie and I knew her dental issues, She had her teeth removed a couple of year after I adopted her, but it certainly didn't effect her adversely. She was much happier and healthier without them and Dillinger was tender with her during her recovery from the teeth removal.

Calypso became CARINA (I realize it is a bit vain). She is doing well and has integrated well with Dillinger, but of course still thinks she is far better. A stool sample discovered a parasite, but she (and DILLINGER) will be done with the antibiotics soon. I have a dental rinse for her, as well. (See Dillinger's entry for a funny story about them from yesterday).

I will be sending out Announcements to family & friends (much like a Baby Announcement) that extols the virtures of CARINA and DILLINGER. I will be sending one to Siamese Rescue, as well. I will upload pictures from home tonight because my work computer is blocking my upload

2/26/2016- Jasper (AKA Yule)- is settling in nicely! After isolation, he met my orange tabby "Sunny". She growled and hissed, but Jasper didn't argue...he is curious about her, but he knows she doesn't want to play! His former habit of pulling his hair out from a flea infestation has followed him. I hope over time, he will stop this obsession. Otherwise, his appetite is strong and we are bonding well! He is a sweet and gently soul...also very smart! I found he can open cabinet doors if he really wants to get in. I look forward to spending my time with him....Thank you Siamese Rescue for helping him find his way home!!

Yes, I am actually this cute. Foster mom says you can't get any cuter than me. And I'm sweet as well, and just love to be held. I am here playing with the other kitten here (Jessie) and it's fun. I love toys, I love my food, and I love to be loved and get pets! Get ready to ask about me, as foster mom says I'm just a splendid little guy!

Foster Notes

Notes from Home
Can Henry (previously Owen) possibly have lived with us for six months? It seems both too short a period (hasn't he always been underfoot?) and too long (because he's still such a baby). In the first month or two, he was polite but cautious, as if he assumed that we were just another way station en route to somewhere else. (No doubt he was also missing Jackie, his wonderful foster mother.) Right from the start, however, some things were clear: that he has a mind of his own; that he has a capacity for trouble; that he is the best pillow snuggler ever, and that he loves kisses. He is also the first cat I've had who, when you reach down to stroke him, stretches his head up to meet your hand.

The only member of the household who is not rapturous about Henry is 11 year old dilute tortoiseshell Sophie, who doesn't appreciate that ambushes are a glorious form of entertainment. I spend a lot of time apologizing to her, and Henry has learned to dive under the furniture at first sight of the spray bottle. We'll just call this a work in progress. The pace of ambushes has slackened considerably and after all, it's only been six months!

HENRY
I was born in a backyard to a gentleman's cat and I didn't get much human interaction in the beginning. But boy, I'm making up for that now! Meowmy says I'm sweet, cuddly and so loving. I flop to get belly rubs and snuggle right up under her chin. I purr and purr and make lots and lots of biscuits. I may need a little time and patience to adjust in my furever home, but I will be so worth it.

Of course, I am energetic and playful. Afters all, I am a KITTEN and a BOY!!! I MUST have a like minded kitten or cat in my future home. A gentle, but playful girl would probably be best.

Purrs,

Henri

It has been over six months since Henry came home and things are fantastic. He is a big boy now, weighing in at 11.5 lbs! Henry is a gentle soul and loves to snuggle with Mom and Dad. He would love to snuggle with his sister, Zoey, as well but she still won't let him. However, they do play together and enjoy being close to their humans. Henry still has a lot of energy and loves to run around and play with all of his toys. He is very vocal, too! If there ever was a perfect cat, Henry is it!

It has been one month since Henry came home and we couldn't be happier! Henry is the sweetest, most affectionate cat I have ever met. He is very vocal and playful, and is very well behaved. He is very brave when people come to visit and often warms up to them relatively quickly. He is very eager to play with his new sister Zoey, and she is slowly warming up to him. He has a very healthy appetite and is growing into a big boy! He is such a joy and we are so grateful to SCRC for making his adoption possible. He was the perfect fit for our family.

Henry shares an Instagram account with his sister @zoey_cannoli_stromboli where we post lots of pictures and updates!

Look at what a big boy I am already...or really, I'm a "little man" as mom likes to call me. I like to sit up on the couch like my people and watch the game!! I am a lover boy and a chow hound all rolled into one. Mom thought I might be a talker, but now I just trill all the time. Except that I HAVE learned to say "wand" because I just can't get enough of that toy and make sure my people know it every day! I love all and I know how to work an adoring look. Even my slightly grumpy sister gets a few kisses when she is sleeping ;-) I make her chase me and wrestle too, even though she might rather be sleeping. But she can't help herself and has to get in on the action when the wand comes out! When the action is done, I LOVE to cuddle and I am sooooo mellow and easy going. I just want to be near my people wherever they are...and a few snacks 'n' toys of course!

WETZEL
Hi it's me Wetzel! I was out living on the streets got picked up and landed in a gold mine. I just got here but once I get settled I will you know more about how fabulous I am.

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
1 month - Wetzel is settling right in. He loves to have his whiskers rubbed, and will hold my hand in his paws to rub his face all over my fingers. He's such a sweetie! He's a roller and will just flop down and rollover whether it's on the hardwood floor or the carpet. He talks a little when he wants attention or is looking for his sister, Savilla. He loves playing with his sister and the rest of us in the family.

6 months - Wetzel is doing well. He had some skin issues when we first got him and we had to put him on a prescription diet for a couple months to see if it was a food allergy. He was on an antibiotic and steroid for the sores on his body that he would lick obsessively. The medicine helped and the dermatologist found that he didn't have a food allergy, so we are keeping an eye on environmental factors that could be affecting him. Wetzel still has outbreaks of his skin condition, but it hasn't gotten as bad as it was when we first got him. He's a good eater and very playful. He's our talker and lets us know when he's hungry or wants to play. He's such a sweetie and loves attention from everyone.

1 year - Wetzel is doing great! He still has some sort of skin condition due to allergies, but nothing as bad as when we first got him. He went for his annual checkup at the vets and is healthy and happy. He loves playing with his stuffed animals and the belts from our robes. He also loves people's feet and will hold them to rub his face all over your toes. :-) He's a sweetie just like his sister, Savilla.

2 year - Wetzel is doing great! He is happy and healthy. We've found that he really likes to eat cooked broccoli and other vegetables. He has become really good with letting me clip his nails. We are happy to have him as a part of our family.
