Just arrived in foster care so foster mom is still learning about me. So far she knows that I love being petted and brushed and playing with a catnip fish.

More as I settle in.

Daisy is amazing! Ok, so really she's a total wacko, but she's also amazing because of this. She is a huge personality and absolutely, positively could not be a better fit for our home. Her favorite things include chasing toy mice, watching the birds and hogging the bed. She still HATES being held, but is getting better (I'm able to hold her for upwards of two minutes!) We bought her a cat tower because she's terribly spoiled, and she loves laying on her back at the very top and being the world's biggest ham. We thank you guys for the amazing work you do every day. We absolutely cannot imagine what life would be like without all eight solid pounds of her!

FARINA
Just arrived and discovered to have a heart murmur that needs to be checked out before I can be adopted. I am sweet and cuddly and a little timid until I get to know you. Ok with other cats but best with laid back male. Not too active home life is best, too.

Farina (fka Apple) settled in well and is an active, playful, affectionate kitty. She doesn't like being picked up yet, especially when I have to give her yucky medicine (for coccidia). She is learning to talk and occasionally a meow comes out. She has a long lean body and is a good jumper. What a beautiful cat Farina is!

COOPER
Hi, guys! I'm a good 'ol street boy, and I sure am happy about my chow and this cushy room I get to stay in. And that human seems pretty nice, too. I can't help myself but purr when she pets me. I lived with a bunch of other cats outside, but I was too nice and friendly to go back with them, so I got to come into rescue. Whatcha think? It's not very often you discover royalty living on the street! And I've decided that I would just like to have all your attention, but I promise I will be enough! Check out how loving and playful I am on my videos! I even know how to jump into your arms to be held!

Notes from Home
Was just rememded that we have had "Cooper" for 6 months now. Seems like he has always been with us. We have all settled into a routine and it didn't take him too long to get us trained. Our biggest disagreement these days is over what he will have for dinner. He prefers canned food but he only gets canned every other day at dinner time. He complains and walks away from his bowl but eventually realizes his complaints are falling on deft ears, so he eats the dry food.

He loves to play with his mice, "meeses" I call them He chases them when I throw them down the hall and digss them out of the tissue box where they sleep while we are not playing. He even goes on the hunt for them when I ask "were are your meeses? I often hear their bells after all has settled down for the night.

His favorite passtime, besides napping, is watching the birds, squirrels and bunnies from his perch in the sunroom window. So far the only thing he hasn't learned to tolerate is that pesky litter box. It insists on making a loud nose and attacking about 10 minutes after he has done his business. He usually waits, croutched near by for the first sound and then he hisses and swipes at it with his paw. I always get a huge chuckle out of his attempts to tame this strange looking contraption.

Cooper appears to healthy, happy, and always ready for lap time. We chuddle in the evenings. Don't know if he is trying to mimic me during the night but that boy can snore. He usually sleeps on the pillow and often strokes my hair in the very early morning (learned that means it's time for breakfast though). I think he has decided to keep us around to cater to him for now.

LIZZY
Outgoing, friendly and loving, I ADORE people. I don't have any cat or dog experience (yet) but stand by while I get to meet everyone here. I am on a special food for crystals so keep that in mind if you have another cat. I want to play, I want to love, and I want to be loved! I would do best with a low stress home, however, so no busy body crazy life type things!

Friday - March 25, 2016:

Lizzy (FKA: Pumba Sugar) has been with us for just over two years now. She is an absolute love, who makes her desires known even though she is not much of a talker. We have had no episodes of urinary health issues since she has been with us and she continues to eat the special diet as a precaution.

Lizzy's favorite activities include chirping at the birds in the feeder just outside of the bay window in the living room (we call this her "kitty tv") and playing a version of tag/hide and seek every night before bed. She is very interactive and loves to snuggle in the evening before bed time. We still can't get her to drink from a bowl or bubbling fountain, but she happily drinks from the toilet or running sink, so I make sure that there are no chemicals in the toilets and that she has an opportunity to drink from the bathroom faucet on a regular basis. She loves to let the water trickle over her head and down her back as she is drinking.

Lizzy has been a wonderful addition to our family, and I think it may be time for her to have a friend/companion to keep her company when I'm at work. I'm reactivating my adoption paperwork and plan to discerningly look for somebody who I think will be just the right fit.

*****

Thursday - February 20, 2014:

We waited to provide an update until we took Lizzy for her first check-up, which happened on Tuesday evening. The vet said that she is very healthy, and has gained a few ounces since coming home, but is still well within her "healthy weight" range. She continues on the Urinary Tract specific diet to ensure that she stays healthy.

Lizzy has been home with us for just over two weeks now, and has become "Queen of the Castle" in that brief amount of time. The household revolves around her schedule and we humans have adjusted all of our routines to accommodate her...our son has even given up his favorite seat in the living room because Lizzy has claimed it as her own!

We open the front bay window blinds every morning so that she can sit in the morning sun and enjoy watching the birds throughout the day (we have a wild bird feeder just outside of the window). When she isn't sitting in her chair or in the window, you can find her sitting amongst the plants (see her photo) playing jungle cat.

She head butts our son every morning to wake him shortly after the sun is up, and runs to greet us at the door each evening when we return from work. Her favorite toy is a hedgehog stuffed with catnip, which she bats around the house regularly.

She is a joy and we adore her.

VALENTINE
I am feeling much better, no sneezes or anything. Now I am eating and catching up. New pictures will follow soon. I had to get a bath and be all handsome. I am a sweetheart with all the headbutts I can give. I love to be petted and scritched too. My purr is loud and strong and ready to turn on at any minute. I have been talking to the other cats under the door and we think we can get along but foster mom will update you on that very soon. Thanks, Keebo

Notes from Home
UPDATE: Thanks so much for the reminder about Valentine - it's so hard to believe it's been nine years already.

Valentine is doing so well. We just moved to a new house in the English countryside, and he spends hours sitting on windowsills watching the birds. He is also really closely bonded with our Tonk girl, Petra. In between beating each other up, they snuggle and groom together all the time.

Healthwise, he's doing ok for an older boy. He had to have a few teeth out last year, as he developed a disease in the enamel. However, he recovered well and is now eating a lot better. He's also developed an issue with hair falling out near his tail, which our vet just doesn't understand at all. We've tested for mites, etc., and we just can't find an answer. Since it doesn't bother him, we've decided not to keep poking him about (since that bothers him a lot more!) and just keep an eye out. If you've ever heard of this before, I'd love any advice!

Other than that, he has become quite bossy and demanding in his old age. When I go into the kitchen in the morning to make tea, I hear him yelling at me from the living room where he's sitting on the couch waiting to be petted. If my husband's at home, he's even more demanding as he loves his daddy.

Overall, though, he's just a lovely, loving cat, and we adore him. I've attached some photos of him, some by himself and some with Petra. He's the big, slightly darker cat.
Thanks again for everything you do.

UPDATE: Just received the note that we've had Valentine for eight years now. Time is flying by with him, and we love him more every day. He's a lovely, affectionate and happy cat, who is - as time goes on - becoming a lot more demanding and even a bit bossy!! He now plumps himself down in between my husband and I, and I'm always the one who has to move off my spot on the couch. Hmmm. He's a daddy's boy, most definitely. He loves his Tonk sister, Petra, and is just a wonderful, beautiful cat with the sweetest (albeit slightly bossy) nature. I've added a few more pics of him and Petra. We still rave about Siamese Rescue and what a wonderful programme this is. Just wish we had an offshoot of you in the UK.

We just realised it's been six years since we brought Valentine home, so thought it would be a good time to send in an update. Our shy, timid little boy who hid in cupboards and under blankets and had turned grey from stress is now a beautiful big bruiser, who chats all the time, rolls around on the floor, and loves being carried by his daddy. He comes out when strangers are over and has been known to stretch out on the floor and relax when my family comes to visit. He's also made the move to the UK and is now a British Siamese cat :) Don't worry - we used the new quarantine rules, so he was able to do his quarantine at home with us and didn't feel a thing.

We've had a few moments with Valentine where he can still break our hearts. The memory of being in a shelter has stayed with him - he absolutely hates change of any kind and has a fear of being abandoned again. We have a brilliant house-sitter who comes to the house when we travel so he can stay in his familiar surroundings and knows we're coming back. He has gotten a lot better since we moved overseas, as we had to fly him in a crate and I really think he thought he was being given up again. When he realised we were still there at the other end he just seemed to grow in confidence that we were actually going to stick around, and he's come on leaps and bounds since then. Last year we lost our other Siamese cat, Emily, who he worshipped. For a while we were scared we were going to lose him too, as he stopped eating, his hair fell out, and he just seemed to lose any sense of joy. However, following a few therapy sessions with his daddy, which consisted of him lying on my husband's chest for three hours at a time without moving, and the arrival of our new Tonk, Petra, he perked up and is now back to his old self.

He has bonded incredibly well with Petra, and the two spend many happy hours racing around the house like a herd of elephants and snuggling up on the couch together, in between the occasional fight when he gets tired of her jumping on him!. He still doesn't understand her craving to play fetch - just looks at her in bemusement as she flies around after bits of paper - but he loves his cat dancer and banana, and can play for hours with those. He sleeps with us when he's cold, loves lying in front of the fire, and I can't go to work in the morning without his daily five minutes of 'making biscuits'.

Valentine is the light of our lives. We love him to bits, and he has returned that love five-fold. We're so grateful to Siamese Rescue and to our interviewer, Kathy, and his foster mom, Jane, for selecting us as V's new parents. Hope you enjoy the pictures of him and Petra.

Tara

I'm a talkative, healthy outgoing curious female seal. I don't have the diva qualities, but I will probably rule the household. I'd be fine with a loving outgoing male friend. I'm curious and independent, smart and chatty, determined and loving. And I purr like there is no end in sight.

Notes from Home
Hey Lila here with an update. I’ve been busy the last 3 weeks training our new beans. NO – I do NOT like closed blinds covering the windows all night! So Meomy and I came to a compromise. She put a nice kitty condo in front of a window in the bedroom and leaves the blind up just enough for me to peek out any time I want. And I only rarely (well only sometimes) have to burrow under the other blinds to check out the other windows!

I came home with another Meezer friend, Chester (formerly Ceddar). I helped him remember how to play. We now take turns when out beans are powering the toys, but sometimes I just barrel right into him if he’s taking too long! I also explore EVERYWHERE (my middle name is Magellan for a reason) and then tell Chester all about what I’ve found. Chester is always running off with the toys – so I run right behind him and try to catch them. I’ve taught him how “chase and tear” around the whole house too! (I simply cannot imagine why my former family said I didn’t get along with other kitties.) I adore having a furry brother to share all this fun!

I love sleeping on the bed right between Meomy and Dad! (Or under the quilt when it’s cold.) And they both are well trained now to give my cuddles whenever I make even a tiny squeak. And when M and D aren’t available, there are lots of choices of sunny spots where I can snooze. I especially like one where the window is open a bit so I can sniff the breezes.

We met the nice new vet last week. She declared me BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT! What else would she say?! I’m just a huge love bug with silky fur that needs loving – a LOT!

Huge THANKS to Siri and Nancy for finding me and Chester a perfect forever family.

Lila Magellan =^,,^=

PS –My Happy Tail is always straight up and slightly curled forward! I’m such a positive girl 

Hello – Lila again. WOW! I’ve been HOME for over a year. And it’s been great. Chester and I have so many spots to snooze. My fav in the morning is the top of the cat tree in front of the bedroom window. Once the sun comes up, I’m there watching what’s going on outside. And when the sun actually gets to me, I’m SUNBATHING! No sunscreen required! The only problem is that when I go downstairs with Paw for my breakfast treat, Chester takes over my spot …. Unless he’s so comfy next to Meom that he never notices! YES!

I’m happy, healthy, and WAY too inquisitive and smart! In the past year, I’ve learned how to open even MORE cupboard and closet doors. Well – it does come in useful when I sneak into the closet. TG Meom and Paw have learned NOT to totally latch the closet doors. I still love toys with feathers and bells! YES – I am a little bit of a diva – but only with toys. I require and GET interesting play time – like when Paw or Meom put pillows on the family room floor and my feather/bell toy dances under those pillows………. YIPPEE! For ME! I always find the toy! I also help Meom get dressed every morning by playing with my feather/bell toy in the little nylon kitty house in the bedroom. Meom can hide the toy in the house and I attack it. Or she can put it outside and I have to attack it there too. Just doing my JOB to help her start her day right!

I too survived the grand kids and pugs. The pugs I just ignored and RAN out the other door when they tried to get too friendly. TG M & P have food and water upstairs for us, so I can just stay away when those nasty dogs are downstairs. When they go to bed, Chester and I RULE the house again. The grandkids are really OK. They pet us nicely, offer treats, and play with us. They seem to know the rules – this is OUR house!

As Chester told you, we have split up responsibilities for “security” of the house. I take care of watching all of the outside things. I start early morning, as soon as the sun comes up, but keeping track of all activities on the front side of the house. I monitor cars on the street, garbage and recycling trucks, and those dang birds in the holly trees right outside my window. In the late morning and afternoon, I track all squirrels and birds out back on the deck and feeders. When Meom gets home, I move upstairs to her sewing room to keep track of those same birds and squirrels! It’s HARD WORK, but I love my family so I don’t mind.

I’m trying to learn NOT to get on the table and counter, but I just CAN’T help myself sometimes. I just need to run and jump – right onto the counter and then the top of the frig and onto the top of the cabinets! Meom yells “DOWN” and I know I should. But what it a Meezer girl to do when I need to UP! Meom always gives me loving when I come down. So I think we understand each other.

And have I told you how much I love all the tummy rubs I get? Well – let’s just say I’m probably the MOST spoiled seal girl EVER! Paw and Meom understand perfectly what makes me purr and indulge me all the time! So, Siri and Nancy – THANKS AGAIN for sending me and Chester to our forever home! We love you and just wish that all the kitties in your care could find a great forever home too!

Lila Magellan =^..^=

Hi - It's Lila!

I can't believe it's been 3 years since we arrived at our Forever Home. Seems like FOREVER!

Let's just say that this is a wonderful life! My favorite time of day is when Paw sits down on the sofa in the family room and I can stretch out next to him. He rubs my tummy and I PURRRRRR! Next best is when we all go up to bed and I curl up between Paw's and Meowmy's pillows - well I sort of put my head up on the edge of Meowmy's pillow. She shares nicer than Paw.

I'm still investigating and exploring the house. My family isn't always happy when I bang the bathroom cupboard doors in the middle of the night... they have baby locks on them now! And I wish they wouldn't have so much stuff in that kitchen cupboard - I have a really hard time squeezing into the back. Do they really need all this cereal and chips and crackers? I till you - it's a challenge sometimes!

But I have lovely windows where I can sun bathe and sniff the breezes when the weather is warm, so it's all OK. Even if my pesky little brother Chester INSISTS on cleaning my ears!

Tell all the Meezers that are waiting to just keep the faith. Their forever home and family are just waiting for them too!

Lila Magellan =^^=

CHESTER BENNINGTON CAM
Couldn't decide if my name was Big Red or Cheddar, but since I've done nothing but smile with pleasure since I got here, we opted for a cheesey name. Probably fine anywhere and everywhere, but my favorite place would be your place!

Notes from Home
Hey Peeps! Just wanted to let you know how I'm doing after 3 glorious weeks at my new home. JUST FINE! Even better than FINE!

I got to come home with a new Meezer friend, Lila (formerly Shou). She and I now have free run of most of the house and we LOVE IT! There are toys upstairs and downstairs - and we can even move them around as we want. I did bring a toy onto the bed this morning about 3 am and Meomy wasn't too happy about me pouncing on her feet and legs - but she didn't yell at me! She just let me play and then scritched my head. You have remember that I didn't much like toys when I was at the Siamese Rescue Center. Now I'm just a big PLAYBOY!

We have lots of windows to look out - well, I mostly like to snooze in the sun. These beans of ours have provided us nice cushy, soft spots in front of windows. Of course at night, I prefer sleep on the bed - right next to one of my beans. And they roll over or move a hand, I'm right there to let them know I could use a scritch or 5.

We met the nice new vet last week. She declared me HANDSOME and PERFECT! How's bout that? And that's just the way I feel with my new family!

Huge Thanks to Siri and Nancy for finding me a perfect forever family.

Chester (formerly Cheddar) =^..^=

Hey It's Chester Bennington Cam! I cannot believe I've been in my forever home for a little over a year. But it seems like forever! Lila and I sure got lucky when we came here. We have comfy beds, chairs, and sofas for snoozing. There are even pillows on some - and I've become the "Prince and the Pea", cuz I love to be on a quilt, on a pillow, on a bed or sofa! Hey - why NOT! The food is great and treats appear regularly. Toys are all around, and sometimes I have a hard time deciding - paper ball (fav when Meom and Paw aren't home or are working), plush toy or laser toy!

I'm just a happy, healthy, friendly guy! I've gained a little weight, had no tummy or eye problems (thanks to my lysine treats and grain-free food), and come out of my shell. When guests come to visit, I check them out for about 5 mins and then turn on my charm! They ALWAYS love me and tell me how handsome and sweet I am. The kids (grands) and pugs (danged dogs) were here at Christmas, but we survived quite nicely. The kids were very nice and petted and played with us. The pugs…. well, let’s just say, that when they got between me and stairs – I sent one of them SPINNING! Just ran right into/over him! They live with Balinese, but this is MY house!

I'm learning that when Meom and Paw clip my nails, they aren't actually trying to cut off my toes! That has been a big step in trust for me. I have not had to go see the nice vet since I had my 1st visit about year ago, but will be going again soon. Don't like the car, but guess it's for my own good.

My major responsibilities here are: keep track of where all my peeps are in the house. I follow Meom around and position myself outside her sewing room and office so I can protect her. I also supervise all bathroom activities! This is VERY important, even if it means getting up during the night to make sure Meom is OK. Lila and I have split up the responsibilities - she keeps track of things outside and I take care of inside security! We both monitor kitchen activities in case there is some turkey that falls into a bowl for us.

Hey Siri and Nancy – THANKS AGAIN for sending us to our forever home! We love you and just wish that all the kitties in your care could find a great forever home too!

Chester Bennington Cam =^..^=

Hi Siri and Nancy, It's Chester Bennington Cam.

Today is CHESTER and LILA DAY! Can't believe it's been 3 years since we arrived here at our forever home. Seems like it has been forever. I've totally forgotten about my "before" life.

My Mewomy and Paw had a visitor this last week. I made sure she felt welcomed by sleeping on the bed with her (on a precious kitty quilt) and following her around. But she left today, so guess I'll have to share the bed with Lila tonight.

But this afternoon was warm and sunny and Lila and I got to sunbathe in the window in the breakfast room. Fortunately, we have a little bench there - and can enjoy sniffing the breezes.

Meowmy is a quilter and I LOVE to snooze on quilts. She even made me 2 that sit right next to her desk, so she can just reach down and scratch my chin while she works. It doesn't get better than this!!

Please tell all those Meezers that are waiting that their forever home is out there - to NOT GIVE UP HOPE! It will happen and it's WONDERFUL!!

Chester =^^=

WILMA
Neat..........Sweet...............Petite............ With just a hint of tortatude thrown in!

I'm 10 months old and looking for a forever home. Happy little kids that make lots of noise scare me, so maybe a home with slightly older children? I did have a friend that woffed, but Meowmy said she wants to be sure I like her dog, too, before saying I won't hurt your doggie if you have one. I'll let you know how that goes when the time comes for me to meet Duchess!

Well, she met Duchess this morning and did great! (3/3). You can see her reaction on her video dated 3/3.

So for now, if you'd like a nice little tortie like me, and enjoy a little "sass" thrown in once in a while, ask about me and maybe that can happen.

Purrs and a little hiss too,
Wilma

Notes from Home
Wilma and I just passed our 2 year anniversary together! Yay! And it hasn't been without challenges, that's for sure. Right now, we're still trying to resolve the aggression/bitting that is ongoing. At her annual physical last month, we decided to try her on Gabapentin to see if it might help her. We believe her to have hyperesthesia…so all in all, we are trucking along. I'm not sure the medication is working, but it's not hurting. maybe a 25% improvement? She can be quite loving….she gets in my lap, wants love, etc. but I have to be EXTREMELY careful to not give her too much because then she'll turn on me. Wilma is very social - she loves hanging out with my house guests, although some of them are petrified of her. This works beautifully for those who can "wear out their welcome;)
Wilma has lost a pound + since her last annual physical which is great, because she was getting a little chunky. She still continues to have a VORACIOUS appetite! All in all, we are doing okay…………...

Well, it's been THREE YEARS since I've adopted Wilma. It has been a ride for sure!!!!!!!!!! I just took her to the vet last week for her checkup. Wilma continues to be aggressive and bites me regularly.......So we are going to take her off the Gabapentin and put her on Prozac to see if this will help her anxiety/aggressive behavior.. She's put on weight since her last annual checkup so I'm going to try to reduce her intake........if only I could do the same.
It's true what they say about torties: "Tortitude for sure!!!!!!!"

DELILAH
My new foster Meom is just getting to know me. This kitty motel seems pretty nice though. There are other kitties here who seem to really like it. The food is good. I waited to eat until the night came so nobody could see me. I'm just a little scared right now. It's nice and warm and cozy in my playpen.
I'm having a little trouble with my one eye. The veterinarian says it's an old injury and will be with me the rest of my life.
But I love my people attention, pets and belly rubs! Can I sleep in bed with you?
I'm not sure I like these other kitties though. I might just have to have all the attention for myself.
Mew, mew!!

Notes from Home
10 Days:

After a week of sniffing each other out through the door - Samson and Delilah met and it couldn't have gone better!! They started playing almost immediately. Sam is the best big brother. He has always lived with a kitty brother/sister - and I think hes a bit lonely since we lost Molly.

She adores Sam - monkey see - monkey do. If he's doing it - she wants to do it to.

I couldn't have gotten a better sister for Sam. Delilah is happy, chirpy, and loves to give me Eskimo kisses - just too cute.

Her "bed" of choice - despite lots of fluffy alternatives - is the bathroom sink. She doesn't even care if it's wet - silly monkey.

Here is a picture of the two of them. Thanks again to all the people who helped take care of her and get her to her forever home :)

One Month:

My how time flies!! Everyone here is going GREAT! Samson and Delilah have bonded beautifully. She ADORES him so much. She is so full of energy - fortunately my apartment has plenty of room to run - which she does - a LOT :)
Sam can play rough - but she gives it back in spades and then comes back for more. He is also a good teacher - her kitty manners are not all there as she was a feral. Sam gently puts her in her place and she is learning.
The vet thought she was doing really well. She thinks the eye might be a birth defect versus and injury. Good news is she can see something - her pupil reacted to light and the vet could see in. They applauded the use of L-Lycine (thanks Carol).
She eats and uses the boxes well. She is gaining weight and getting longer/thinner.
Overall she is happy, healthy and getting used to her forever home.
Enjoy the new pics!

We lost Delilah's brother Sam today - enlarged heart - fluid in lungs and abdomen. The at home euthanasia vet was very nice - he went so peacefully... My heart is broken it seems beyond all hope....
Please keep an eye out on a sweet laid back male....

Delilah so misses Sam - she now turns to me as her "big cat companion" - which means playing in the middle of the night - she brings toys into the bed for me to throw at 2am!
I know she is lonely alone during the day while I'm at work by the amazing greeting I get each day (like she hasn't seen me in weeks!).
We are both anxiously awaiting the adoption of Marsh!! Crossing fingers and saying a prayer to the transport gods.

Delilah is back to her frisky, loveable self.
She has decided an new fun game would be to jump on my shoulders - from the floor! She does not always "stick" the landing :)
She had her annual vet appointment and came thru in flying colors - she is getting so long and beautiful.
The vet and I discussed her experience with Marsh. She suggested a kitten. Younger, smaller and male. So I'm on the hunt for a new baby.

Delilah and I just celebrated one year together - my how times fly and situations change. Going from a big brother she adored - to losing him - to gaining one who wasn't too keen to be friends... A lot for a young lady!
She passed her vet visit with flying colors!
We are waiting anxiously for more suitable mates to be listed.

WILLY WONKA
Ever heard the expression "It takes a village..............."? Well in my case it's true!

I was left abandoned and found by a group feeding feral cats. I was in terrible shape and smelled so bad the rescuer didn't want to bring me in her house, until I was cleaned up some. A request was sent out on Face Book to get help to pay my vet bills to see what was wrong with me and the "village" stepped up to help, raising what was needed at the time. They had allergy testing done, and found out all the things I'm allergic too. The good news is that if I live the rest of my life indoors and am fed anything on the long list of accepted foods, I should be fine.

Now the next step in my journey is Siamese Cat Rescue, to continue where Barn Cat Buddies left off. I think I'm one lucky boy to be given a 2nd chance to live the rest of my life in a warm home with someone who'll love me.

Meowmy will explain more after I'm here a while and get checked over by the vet, for the next steps in my recovery.

Purrs and head butts,

Sushi II

Notes from Home
It's amazing how things work out. Two days after I got Shiloh's [VA8552] diagnosis of terminal cancer, this little man came into the rescue program, and now on Poppy's [VA9779] second anniversary of coming home, this little man came up to the Hudson Valley to share a forever home with her!

He's eating and drinking well, and has already checked out the privy and found it to his satisfaction!, He's already sniffing at the door, eager to explore the rest of the house and meet his sister. Amazingly, there has been no growling, hissing, or kitty drama from anyone. Just curious scratching and soft meows.

2/10/16

It's been an exciting couple of days. Mr. Wonka is smarter than the average cat and staged a jailbreak from his sequestering on the first night! Still, it couldn't have gone any better, as I found the two of them curled up, as content as can be, when I walked into my office the next morning.

So much for a gradual introduction.

Since then, they've both taken to accompanying my while I work, and (since I unfortunately came down with a nasty cold since bringing Willy home) taking turns providing me with Meezer therapy.

3/20/16

It's been over a month and things have been great! Mr. Wonka is quite a charmer and zips around the house with far more energy than I've come to expect in a ten-year-old cat. Geezer, indeed... Ha!

He's also charmed my little seal-point princess, Poppy, and they occasionally talk with each other while supervising me in my office. They've even been caught... giving each other nose sniffs and kisses!

His coat is getting softer by the day and he has put on some more weight. The poor little man was quite bony from his ordeal before coming into rescue, but the vet says that he should settle in to be around an 8 pound cat.

Willy never ceases to be amazed by the turn of events that brought him here and seems so happy. He has a big forever home that he gets to share with a sweet little Meezer princess, no shortage of toys to play with and plenty of fish to watch in their (covered!) aquariums, no shortage of good food and clean water whenever he wants, a Meowmy who works from home and has made room on her desk for Millie beds so he can supervise in comfort, and two- count them- TWO forever people to snuggle up with at night!

Enclosed are some pictures of the little guy in his new home! Thank you again for all the hard work you do helping these wonderful cats find their forever homes!
