Dear Dad,
I'm sorry you are incarcerated (did I spell that right?) but right now we are too.
I keep trying to make a run for it but this foster lady puts me back into my room.
The eats are good, litterbox clean - so it's not all that bad.
Brother Andy and I will be fine, you needn't worry about us.
This foster person says it won't take long for us to find a forever home.
I'm keeping an eye on Andy (VA8285) to make sure he behaves himself.
Can't say I'll talk to ya again Dad. Time for us to be mov'in on.

I'm a gorgeous young lynxpoint boy who found myself homeless, but safe. The rescue angels took me and my brother Andy (VA8285) in to find us new forever homes. We want to stay together. We're a ready-made duo who will keep you on your toes.
I got the looks, Andy got the brains. I think Andy will agree, won't you Andy?

Andy is also a bit more reserved than myself. He has class whereas I have the ability to make you chuckle. You see we are a purrfect pair (odd couple). I like dry food, Andy likes wet. I don't cover my business, Andy does. I sleep on my back, Andy sleeps on his belly.
Night and day, Ying and Yang - but together forever.

2/2015 3 years? No way! My bro' and I are havin' a good time - See our new photos!!

2/7/2011 Hi Guys! Suki here. They tell me that I'm a Jersey Boy now. This Jersey place is pretty good - lots of stairs (my bro and I like to stomp up and down and up again) and lots of feathers! I have my very own feather and when anybody comes near it, I make myself big and poofy and I grrrroooowl so nobody can take MY feather away from me! Oh! And there is a great big thing for climbing! (ed: cat tree) My bro and I can fly up this climbing thing very very fast!

There are two girl cats here and the orange one with lots of fur might be OK, but that little one with the big teeth isn't very friendly. Doesn't bother me too much - when she looks at me like that and gets all poofy, I just walk away very slowly so she doesn't get too mad. My bro likes to chase her. I think that makes her really mad.

The people here are ok too. They like it a lot when I rub myself on them and purr. Thanks SCRC volunteers! My bro and I are very happy in this Jersey place.

7/5/2012: Greetings, SCRC from The Underfoot Boys of New Jersey! Just a quick note to let you folks know how awesome they are.

The Boys arrived in NJ at the end of January, just about 5 months ago. Suki and Tako have no fear of anything, requiring the 2-legged residents of the house to tread very carefully - oncoming feet just get looked at like they're beings from another planet. They have a definite preference for men over women: the poor handyman that attempted to repair some windows a few weeks back found himself closely supervised, his tools thoroughly inspected, and his trousers coated in lovely white fur by the time he was done. They put a smile on my face every morning.

Suki is a gentle soul who wants no drama and goes out of his way to avoid conflict with the girls. He chirps and trills when trying to herd the humans into the family room where his toys live, but isn't too vocal otherwise. The only thing that Suki likes more than a mid-morning snooze in the middle of the bed or killing his favorite feather toy is food. Any kind of food at all. To the extent that he managed to gain a whole pound between the time he came home and the end of May! So as of two weeks ago, our entire Thundering Herd of Felines is on short rations. Suki is a veritable vaccuum cleaner and has now taken to scouring the kitchen floor, nose down, looking for crumbs somebody might have overlooked. His silly crossed eyes start looking hopeful several hours before dinnertime.

Suki is also being watched closely for likely membership in the Bad Teeth Club. He saw the vet a couple of months ago for the worst bad breath imaginable and we found a pretty amazing tartar buildup for a guy his age in addition to some very sore-looking gums. We gave him a course of antibiotics to see if that might improve things and two weeks later, his halitosis was much much improved, indicating that he probably had some infection going on in there. A dental was done at that point and the vet was very happy to find nothing loose or otherwise in bad shape. Just to be on the safe side, he is now on a 6-month schedule for regular dental checkups.

Foster Notes

Well, here I am at a new foster house. My first foster took great care of me. I was really sick. So many Siamese Rescue people care about me so much. I love these folks. So I'm over my cold but now I have to get spayed. Meom says it will be the best thing for me. I know I'll be okay because she loves me very much.
I do like to play, I'm just a big kitten myself. Well I feel very young anyway. The food here is so good. I'm feeling stronger everyday. I'm so anxious to find my furever home when I am finished with my veterinary appointment.
Do you have a friend for me to play with? I think I like other kitties. Meom will let you know.
Meom says that you should press the 'How to Adopt' button to find out about me.
I can't wait to meet you! You can show me the new fluffy bed you have for me to sleep in!
Thanks for looking at me. I want to sit on your lap and purr, purr, purr!
Notes from Home
01-Feb-2015: Jessie is doing very well and has gotten comfortable in her home. She's very sweet and always wants to be where we are. The only person she still nips is my husband (although he's her favorite person) because he sometimes doesn't pick up on her body language. Jessie had her annual exam, all is well except she gained a little weight. I scaled back the amount of food the cats are getting and started measuring it instead of just eyeballing the amount. I don't know if she has lost any but I'm pretty sure she hasn't gained more. Jessie is really low maintenance - no bad habits and not overly demanding. She just wants her head rubbed and her meals on time and she's a happy girl.

26-Nov-2013: Jessie has fit into the household pretty well. One of the resident cats still chases her every now and then. It seems like he just wants to play with her but she does not appreciate it and hisses at him. She doesn't seem interested in the other cats and mostly ignores them. She still nips at us for no reason - no reason from our point of view; I'm sure she would say differently :). I can watch her and anticipate when she's going to nip and prevent it but she's definitely not a cat you can just mindlessly pet while you're watching TV. She's not aggressive and the nipping isn't hard or leaving a mark - just weird behavior. She's very friendly and is always wherever the family is (in one the pics, she's sleeping on my mom who is visiting for the weekend). She's quiet and pretty low maintenance; easy to care for. She seems to really like my husband and he's her first choice when she's looking for some pets.

14-Oct-2013: Jessie had her vet visit today; she is up to 7.9 lbs and the vet thinks that is a perfect weight for her. She was also introduced to the resident kitties today. They were together for about an hour or so without incident. I played with the boys with a wand toy and she jumped in to play every now and then. I gave all the cats treats and they all ate them together. :) She is still occasionally doing the nipping thing. I can usually watch her and anticipate when she's going to nip and stop petting her before it happens. Other than that, she’s a great little girl; very sweet and loving and enjoys her play time.

Notes from Home
01-Feb-2015: Finnigan is doing well and is a very loved member of the household. He is always into or on top of whatever we're doing. Aside from us having to move him off of games or get him out of the pile of laundry (see pictures), he is a perfect boy; no bad habits and nothing to complain about. Finnigan went for his annual exam a couple of months ago and the only issue is that he had put on a little weight, not too much but the vet recommended he not get any bigger. My daughter still adores him and he is very tolerant of being carried around and hugged and kissed. He is a wonderful boy!

26-Nov-2013: Finnigan is such an awesome boy! He has become my daughters favorite cat and he is often snuggled up with her under a blanket on the couch. He is very playful and likes to play by himself, with the other cats, and with interactive toys. Integration was a little rough at first. He was a bit of a bully to one of the resident kitties but he has backed off and those 2 play together sometimes now (they're both on the cat tree in the picture). As I type this, they're sleeping about 6 inches from each other on the couch. Finnigan is exactly what we were looking for when we submitted our application to Siamese Rescue. :)

14-Oct-2013: Finnigan is doing very well. He is very loving and playful. He purrs pretty much non-stop. He received his final worming on Saturday and received his last dose of ointment for his yeast infection today (infection seems to be gone, I will give his ears a good cleaning tomorrow). I am currently working on integrating Jessie with the resident cats and as she progresses, I will start introducing Finnigan to everyone (so far, they have only played with each other under the door). Finnigan plays a little rough with us so I’m hoping he won’t be too rough for the other kitties. The pictures I uploaded are of him looking out the window into the woods – lots of wildlife for him to see and the other is him playing with a toy – he LOVES to play. He’s such a great boy! 

Foster Notes

Hi! My name is Pogue. I'm a bottle baby from the local shelter and this weekend I was separated from my littermates for the first time. I haven't skipped a beat though! I love my foster mommy and I want to be with her ALL the time. I try really hard to get along with these other fosters but they've got baggage. Geesh... all I want to do is play and I get grumbled at, swat at, and then they steal my food. All I need is some fun playmates and a loving momma and I'll be the happiest boy ever.
Notes from Home
Pogue was renamed Martin Francis ( Marty) in honor of two saints that are patron saints of animals, St Martin De Porres of South America and Saint Francis of Assisi. He is a wonderful, happy, little boy who is loving and is a non-stop purr machine.
1/20/2014: Meowmy is going to write my updates soon. She wants to first write thank you very much to Siamese Cat rescue, Director Siri, foster Mom Heida( Meowmy had made an inquiry from her before adopting me), especially foster Mommy Belinda for taking such good care of me before I was adopted, Peggy, Meowmy's interviewer, the transport co-ordinators, Meezer express drivers Susan, Shirley, Leslie, Glenda, Jo. Thanks to " Aunt Marilyn" for being part of my journey home. Thanks to everyone else, that I didn't mention by name, if I inadvertantly forgotten anyone. Marty is doing extremely well, a very joyful little boy, healthy, and very happy to have brothers and sisters! More soon!! Thanks everyone!!

My passions are my wand toy, catnip toys, sitting on the sofa with my human and sleeping on the bed at night. If you are looking for a laid back cat to follow you around the house I am your cat. My litter box habits are purrrrfect. I have a soft quiet voice and purr. I am especially fond of receiving pets when I am eating. I would do best in a home without small children or with another laid back cat.

Notes from Home
I don't have any good pictures of Sophie right now because every time I get the camera, she comes to rub all over it!! I am so fortunate to be guardian of such a sweet girl. Thanks to her foster dad (Reid), she transitioned very well. Her confidence is growing every day and I think she's learned that she "owns" me ;) Her favorite place to sleep is in front of my patio doors, unless it's cold and cloudy. On those days, she naps in her bed in my walk-in closet. At night, she either sleeps in bed with me or in her Millie bed, which is on the floor next to my bed. Playtime and treats are VERY important to her! Our normal routine is for me to get up and dutifully follow her to the kitchen so I can watch her eat. This seems to be a big deal to her, although I have no idea why! Then I'm allowed to have breakfast, while she sits by her toys and waits for playtime. She has 4 favorites: her wand toy with the fabric strip, her banana, a small gray mouse, and a wand toy with a pink and yellow caterpillar. She tries to bite the head and wings off the caterpillar when she plays with it and it's hysterical to watch. We usually play until she's tired, then she naps for a while. Mid-morning is treat time and if I'm not on time, she will follow me until I remember. She loves Temptations and also the soft Blue Buffalo (all flavors). She rarely runs and hides now, unless something really unusual occurs. When I first brought her home, she would hide if I put on my coat, or came home - really she hid about any time I started to do anything. Now when I come home, she comes to greet me and check out anything I may have brought home. Sophie is so quiet; she rarely meows, but she's very expressive. She knows just how to sit in front of me with her ears up and a look of expectation on her face. Of course, then I say "show me what you want" and she's off to get me to do her bidding :) I love it!!! She is definitely a lap cat. The only time she fusses is when I try to move her off my lap. She gets all settled in and after a while (a long while - like over an hour!) if I try to move her, she will growl. It makes me laugh and it's just adorable. I will pet her and say "Sophie, I have to get up" over and over, and after a few minutes she'll usually get up, although grudgingly. Her FH has been pretty stable. I have noticed that big weather changes (mostly warm to cold) will make her congested. It lasts from a couple of hours to less than a day. I've talked with her doctors and they've told me the same things that I've read online - there really isn't anything to do except for her supplement. It just hurts me to hear her when she's congested because I can't make it better. I ordered some eye wipes from DrsFosterSmith to clean her eyes. Those seem to be softer and less irritating than tissues and her eyes do need to be cleaned at least once a day. She's still a little iffy with hands, but I've been working with her on that and she's much, much better. When I first got her, if she was on my lap and I moved my hand for any reason, she would try to give me a swat or act like she wanted to nip. I didn't react; I just held my hand steady beside her. A couple of times I got a little nip (no big deal to me) and I didn't flinch, etc. but just held steady. That progressed to a reaction of "maybe I should swat - no - I'll rub her hand - no - not sure what I should do" . Now, if I start to scratch her head or under her chin and she doesn't want me to , she gets her paw and pushes my hand away! AND a couple of times I've received a very fast little lick on the side of my hand. That was a huge deal to me! I was thrilled, to say the least. I'm also working on picking her up. When she first came home, she could be picked up, but would struggle and tense up. I have very, very slowly been picking her up, giving her a brief, light hug, then putting her down and immediately started playing with her. My big "woo hoo" moment came a couple of days ago. I picked her up, held her for a short time ( less than 30 secs), and when I put her down - before I could get her wand toy - she immediately rolled on her back in front of me!! So, I think I'm making strides in making her feeling secure. She follows me from room to room and lays on the floor beside me; she checks out absolutely everything and rubs on it so I know that it belongs to her, and now pretty much rules the house. In my opinion, that's how it should be, so it suits us both! I'm so glad she's accepted me and seems to feel secure here with me. I love her so much and I'm so happy we ended up together!

Lover boy alert!

I am the sweetest, snuggliest, cuddliest, kissiest cat and Foster Lady said somebody better adopt me before she does! Easy going, laid back friendly boy that will likely get along with anyone and anything.

Purrs and face-kisses,

I tried to send a couple pictures but this site told me the cat I requested could not be found. I will try to figure it out. Thanks. Flynn is a wonderful cat.

My foster mom just took a lot of new pictures. Check them out. She's trying to help everyone see the wonderful cat that she sees.

I am super friendly and love to purr and give head butts. My foster mom says I get a 9.5 out of 10 on the friendly scale. I also like to eat and play. I'm a very laidback lover with stunning bright blue eyes that look incredible with my flame coloring.

I was a stray and rather thin. Now I'm making up for lost time and am up to 9 pounds -- a healthy weight for me. (Because I was not neutered until I was an adult, I developed a wide face and am a bigger male -- but NO litter box issues.) And I love having a warm, safe place. Even better, I get lots of attention and have someone to lavish with affection.

I spend the day with the resident cats now. We get along just fine, but I'm more interested in my foster mom than the other cats. I met my foster mom's sister. Even though she was a stranger, I lavished her with affection. I am people-oriented.

As much as I like my foster mom and foster home, I'd like a forever home and forever family even more. Please ask about me.

Notes from Home
1/29/15: Sinatra is (sort of) famous! I am on the production team of The Windy City Burlesque Festival, and this year we are selling "Cats explain burlesque" calendars to fundraise for the festival. Sinatra is the glitter kitty! You can see all the images on Buzzfeed here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ashleyv4c2a927e0/cats-explain-burlesque-1ahc0

3/10/14: Very nearly our three-year Cativersary! He's still a joy to share my life with (except at 6 am when he's jumping on my head repeatedly until I get up to feed him). It doesn't feel like 3 years, that's for sure.

3/12/13: Happy two-year Cativersary! Woke up to kitty snuggles this morning (but I wake up to them pretty much every morning. If it's not snuggles, it's stepping on my organs repeatedly, trying to subtly wake me for breakfast.)

3/12/12: Happy one year Cativersary! Guess who gets treats and a new catnip mouse today?

10/16/11: "Grandma" bought kitty a new scratch post. Now when I come home and he excitedly tries to shred my bedposts, I get to say "no, you know where you're supposed to do that", and he looks at me, and scratches the scratchpost instead. Smart little bugger.

9/28/11: It has apparently been six months already, and I have no idea where the time has gone. Sinatra is still stalwartly claiming that he's not a lap-cat, despite the fact that he will lean on me, or sprawl over my ankles given the slightest opportunity. He has picked up the unfortunate habit of scratching the bejeezus out of my bedposts, but we're working on that.

6/10 I have had my wonderful kitty for almost three months now, and he has finally settled in completely. As friendly as he was in the beginning, he is now even more so, and less skittish around strangers now that he knows they aren't taking him anywhere. He sleeps on my knees every night and wakes me up at the crack of insanity to be fed, often by stealing my glasses or batting at something expensive (how do they KNOW?) We've had some issues with recurring UTI's, but that seems to have cleared up, at least for now.
He is a chatty, wonderful kitty, and holds conversations with me when I come home from work. More soon...

3/28: Sinatra has been home with me for a little over two weeks now. He's been a sweetheart, and very well behaved the whole time. He has figured out how to open my closet door, and will just open it because he feels like it. He is very insistent when it comes to food, and I do have to lock him out of the kitchen when I'm cooking, to avoid him trying to headbutt sharp objects/eat my food/investigate hot pans. Otherwise, he's been a very good boy.

3/12: Brought Sinatra home today. He has staked out the top of my microwave, and doesn't want to give up such prime real-estate. He is, however, extremely friendly, and has let me sit and pet him all afternoon, purring like there's a little V-8 under his hood.

I'm Ivy, named after the rescue angel who saved me and called Siamese Rescue. I'm a bit under the weather right now, but do like my food, take my medicine, and know how to use my litter box.

The only thing I won't do right now is sit still long enough for meowmy to take some photo's of me, so the photo's she got don't show just how cute I really am.
You can also see my red eyes in some of them from my kitty cold, but that doesn't stop me from eating or playing.

It will be a few weeks yet until I ready to go home, but you can ask about me now.

Notes from Home
Hi Everyone,
I've had Phoebe (AKA Ivy), for just over a month now and wanted to let you know that she is doing wonderfully!! She's very healthy, eats well (very), has grown to 4.5lbs as of last week, and is a very loving, happy and playful little girl. She is also getting along fabulously with my other 2 cats. My female cat Etta, has taken on the role of Mama cat. She grooms Phoebe, sleeps near her, constantly checks on her and enjoys playing with her. Phoebe is also very talkative, loves to snuggle, can purr non-stop for over 90 minutes, and is such a delight to have around. She follows me around constantly and is a bundle of energy. Her creamy white fur on her body is starting to darken and she is getting very long. What joy she brings to my house!! I'm so happy and grateful to have adopted her. Thank you foster Mom for taking such good care of her when she was so sick, you saved a beautiful, precious little girl!!
Lily and Phoebe

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to update you on Phoebe. I can't believe it's been little over a year since I brought her into my home from Virginia. She has been nothing but a delight and a purrfect little girl in my household--I'm so happy and blessed to have found her. Phoebe is very healthy, growing quickly (7lbs last weight) and is getting her "big coat" colors on. What a loving, playful, and entertaining bundle of fur she is! She still gets along well with my other 2 kitties and I think they have finally gotten used to her vocalizing opinions. Thank you again Siamese Rescue for all you do, and I hope you have a happy and healthy New Year, filled with Lots of happy adoptions!

Well I am taking matters into my own hands and my typing may not be good but my message is. This is the way this is done. You look at me and see how handsome I am.
Then you ask foster mom so she can tell you what a wonderful cat I am. Then you talk to her on the phone and I will talk to you too sometimes. Then I go on pending and I come live with you. Now isn't that a great idea? If you think so too then follow the instructions above and make me a happy cat. Kasey

Almost two months inside where it's warm, lots of food and love. Poppa Peter put up a bird feeder outside just so I could watch the birdies!

While I'm still a bit of a shy boy, (Meowm Trish calls me the Turtle kitten-boy), today I discovered what fun it is to play with Dee Dee, the tiny kitten-girl who is also a foster meezerette here at the Italian B&B for Wayward Siamese. We romped around the family room much to Meown Trish's delight. She's so proud that I'm out and about with my tail up exploring. I like to play with the big orange silicon ball that's in my condo - it lights up!

I do speak up when it's time for meals, and use my litter box like the good kitten I am. Late at night, Meown can hear me playing with my toys. And do I love fresh cooked chicken and baked fish- YUM!

Do you have a young girl kitty to be my best friend?

Your boy Ernie

(note from Foster Meown Trish: Ernie is a bit under-socialized from living outside for nearly 6 months - His new family will need to very very patient and let him develop his social skills on his terms - he's making progress each day - his littermates are love bugs, so I think Ernie will be too, just on his own schedule! )

Ernie was a withdrawn, scared little fellow, missing his best friend, little DeeDee. I slowly gained his trust by keeping him in his "safe"room, where he could survey the world from up on a perch in the towel closet. After a few days of feeding him favorite foods off my fingers, he let me pet and stroke him, rolling over and purring. I then allowed him to roam in the living room, and kept him from finding hiding places by putting his favorite sleeping Tee-Pee in the LR. Unfortunately, we had a vet appointment, I had to scruff him to get him to get into the carrier. He was good at the vet and deemed healthy, but we lost some of the trust-relationship that was so hard to achieve.
Ernie has evolved day by day... he has blossomed into a cuddler, a completely relaxed boy, who initially required time and patience and some trust gaining interventions using his favorite feather-toy to stroke him, then working my hand in instead of the feather! We still have a way to go, but he and Taylor are sleeping on my bed the last two nights. Ernie also attacks my Boston fern, which I in effect have given to him. More to come....Abi. See Utube video of Ernie and Taylor on their first night at "mau4meezers"

Three weeks later Ernie has grown, is a sleek muscular strong "teenager". He is very energetic, I need to play with him and his sister to diffuse some of their energy. He has taken to bullying Taylor, who is about half his size. She can stand up for herself, but sometimes I am afraid she'll be traumatized by it. Generally, they play together very well and share their food without territorial battles. (see Taylor's update)

Ernie and I are best buddies now. Its already been 6 months! With me he is so gentle and loving. He never gets enough playtime. Taylor, his sister is smaller and slightly younger and she tends to barge into Ernie's playtime and overtake everything. I try to keep Ernie feeling special by playing with him while Taylor is busy sleeping (or other things). Ernie dominates the food bowl and has a great appetite. Both kitties love to play in water, and I bought them a Drinkwell fountain for Ernie's birthday. You'll see from the pics that Ernie's eyes are vivid blue. My biggest problem is I want to show him off, and share him with friends. He has such severe stranger anxiety that very few friends have even seen him. He runs and hides under the bed. I really except Ernie as is....and he has come so far with me over the past 6 months that I'm hoping over time, this too shall pass.

This is the 1 Year anniversary of the day my boy came to me. We got to be best buddies and he shadows me everywhere except when he wants to get some daytime catnaps. He curls up on the fluffy down quilt every night, he actually sinks down into it so he's nice and warm. He still is shy with strangers but has come to trust some of my friends and my Dad the operative word is speak softly, no scary fast moves and Play, Play, Play! Ernie is not the kind of guy that can be bought with a good meal!
As for his playmate and sister Taylor.....the two of them are incorrigible! They chase each other around at night when I get home (want to play and eat) and wake me like good alarm clocks at 5AM every morning. Even on Sunday. They are evenly matched now in weight, although Ernie is a bigger cat. That means Taylor is too fat!
Ernie is very healthy, sleek and gorgeous. His back fur had darkened to a tawny-taupe color. his points and mask are nearly coal black, although he is technically "sable". I love him sooooo much and thank and bless the day he came to me.

It is the 2 yr anniv of Ernie arriving into my life and heart. His eyes are deep blue against his stunning, shiny black-seal pint mask. His last check up was excellent......no more tooth extractions needed. (During the fist year, E developed severe gingivitis and required all his molars to be extracted.) He eats quite well, and for a male cat prefers wet food over dry although does snack on Taylor's kibble. Ernie's favorite toy is the laser wand. I am carefully to keep it out of his eyes. He likes Da Bird and a wire wand toy that has sparkly Mylar and feathers. Some newer pictures.

Today Ernie is 3 yrs old. He is beautiful, sleek with a tawny back and dark sable points. His underside is a light buff/white with the black midline stripe. Eyes are deep blue. He is a one person cat and showers me with affection but gives all my friends a scared cold shoulder. I think we share a mutual admiration and I love to play with him. he even cuddles, which is very unusual for a feral cat. We have an affection seeking competition going on between Ernie and Taylor (my other rescue). In general they sleep together and play, but sometimes the play gets rough and one or the other will stalk their prey. At least they take turns. I am so fortunate to have Ernie. There is never a dull moment...Happy Bithday Dear Boy!
1/28/15- Its been 3 years with Ernie now.....My boy has become a loyal, faithful companion, so uniquely himself and a one-person-cat. He loves dogs but is so shy of other people. Ernie's antics keep me laughing and he loves to eat. I had his molars removed during his second year of life due to bone loss around his teeth, and that has not changed his eating habits. I am careful that he doesn't get large chunky food but he manages most everything else. He is sneaky and I have to keep him away from chocolate ice cream which is bad for him. He is a great companion for my little Taylor who teases him by playing coy. She sometimes has to fend off amorous advances (odd because they are both neutered). My Ernie and Taylor make my family complete. Thank all of you at the Siamese Rescue for bring Ernie to me, and a special appreciation to Trish Manfredi and Peter Kuck on this 3rd year anniversary!
