LARRY
Hi there, I'm Larry. I'm a lover and want all the attention for myself, so I need to be your only love. I have great litter box habits, love to lap sit, and meowmy said I have a beautiful coat.

So if you're looking for just one furkid, maybe I'm your man!

Purrs,

Larry

Notes from Home
Hello,

Thank you for all the help rescuing Mylo (renamed Larry to Mylo). He is doing great, he settled right in very quickly and easily. Started to eat very well after a night or 2. He loves bird watching and playing with his toys (the peacock feather is his fav). He is a very well behaved cat and everyone loves him. He is the perfect fit for my home.

KENSI
I was in the program two years ago and got adopted by the most wonderful Meowmy, but I'm afraid I outlived her and now I need a new home of my own. I'm very friendly, very devoted, very affectionate; will sleep in the bed with you, am a dry food eater only, love to snuggle, prefer quieter over busy, am the tiniest bit shy at first but very quickly get over that. I'm a 9 pound tortie with very little in the way of tortitude, just sweet, oh yeah, and cross eyed! (a bit dog frightened).

Notes from Home
Kensi will be here almost two months soon, and she is just PRECIOUS. She and our resident rescue cat get along famously, and she's slept in bed with me since day one.

There is no sweeter feeling than the weight of her as she settles behind my knees when I go to sleep at night, or the phantom paw-brushes on my ankle when I walk by.

There's no sweeter sight than to see her ROCKET out of the bedroom to greet me at the door when I get home.

She's a feisty little angel, and I adore her.

5/16/16 - Today is Kensi's six-year "adoptiversary" and she's just as sweet and playful and cuddly as she was the day I brought her home! People can't believe that she's nine years old and still as playful as a kitten. I can't thank Siri and the SCRC enough for bringing us together.

We moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia Beach two years ago and she loves that our new apartment has STAIRS. She races me up every time I head to bed :) She warms up quickly to new female visitors and all my friends just love her. I have two lovely friends who cat-sit for me when I have to be away and she adores them both.

Her favorite toys are still the cheap mice that rattle, my hair ties, and the canvas catnip-stuffed banana. And we have a feather toy that she'll turn herself inside-out for whenever I bring it out of the closet. It's so fun to see her play. It makes ME forget how old she is when she's that active! She's such a sweet girl and I just love her more every day.

MAGGIE
I came in to rescue as a 1 pound 12 ounce kitten, and was quickly adopted and grew up into the lovely lady you now see. But the little boy in the house developed something called "asthma" and while I don't understand what that is, I know it meant that I had to come back to rescue. But I have been well-loved and well-cared for the past two years. I bond strongly with my human, and prefer a quieter home. I was living with my black feline "sister" who has found another home too. I am still hiding under the bed - but I now allow foster mom to pet me and love on me - and I roll and purr for those pets. I chirp at her too. But I'm not ready to leave the safety of under the bed. If you have the patience for a lovely lady who's scared of noises and commotion, then ask about me. Foster mom thinks I am almost ready for a photo session, and she is working on that!

Notes from Home
Maggie has come a very long way in the first year. When we met her at her foster mom's home she wouldn't come out from under the bed. We decided to adopt her and give her the quiet home she deserved. She spend a while hiding under her bed in her room. She came out of her shell and would approach for pets but didn't like to be picked up. The first trip to the vet was quite a challenge.
Fast forward one year later. Now Maggie follows me around the house and has started to lay on my lap. She's still not fond of being held but I do pick her up so that she gets used to it. (Mostly so I can get her in the pet taxi when she needs to go to the vet). On Mother's Day she blessed me with jumping up on my lap (with the other two Meezers). She now lays on my lap and makes biscuits.
I'm so glad we adopted her. Even though I wanted a cat that would love me, in her own time she is showing that.

BEA
Boy was that shelter scary. It took me a couple days to get over it. Even when I was so scared and not eating I wanted lots of pets. And don't think you will get away without giving them to me. I saw a handsome older gent this morning and gave him a tiny little hiss just to let him know I wasn't easy. I have lived with other cats, but I really want one to win me over.

I like to roll on my back and make biscuits.

Bea is doing well in her new home! We have been bonding a lot over the past few months, and learning one another's quirks. She loves bathtubs, chin rubs, wet food snacks, and watching the bees outside windows.

MEKO
I was left outside with a bunch of wild, uncivilized cats. Can you imagine that? The nice folks who feed that bunch recognized that I needed a home and so here I am ready to tell you about myself.

I am an easy going guy who just wants to be loved and to love you right back. I haven't been here long but I've already given kisses and had a turn on everyone's lap. Get the toys ready and flex your petting hands. I'm ready to meet my new family.

Notes from Home
Hard to believe it's been 2 years already since Meko made his way to our home. We adopted Meko after losing our beloved Siamese, Sushi, a month before he would have been 12. And while they couldn't be more different, Meko is loved very much. Meko is a stocky, healthy, mostly Siamese who loves to drink from the faucet, let me rephrase that, meows to drink from the faucet and thinking his own personal fountain would be the answer, the faucet is still his drink of choice. Unfortunately, we could not create an amicable relationship between Meko and our other cat in the house, so we play a lot of musical bedrooms, free to roam the house, taking turns scenario. Meko sleeps on the bed, loves to be kissed, and is a loving, funny guy, who requires two litter boxes to keep him happy and "on target." We love Meko very much.

YVES ST. YOGI
I'm just starting to find my voice. I am fine with other cats but am independent as well. I'm not that experienced with people and will purr if you find me, but don't seek you out. I panic when restrained. I need a quiet home with patience and time, smaller spaces better than larger.

Notes from Home
After a rough start, Yves St. Yogi is doing beautifully!!! He and Chanel St.-Tropez, his older sister, have bonded; they cuddle and play together. He has recently started sitting in my lap, at least for a few minutes. YsY enjoys his "wet food" (he favors chicken), catnip-flavored "Greenies" treats, catnip, watching birds and squirrels in the yard from the screen door, and his toys. He loves spending time is his floor-to-ceiling condo, especially on the top floor. When he first arrived I was afraid he couldn't jump, but he's actually an amazing jumper--especially in pursuit of one of his toys. He loves to run, especially in pursuit of Chanel (which has been great for her, as she's getting back in shape). YsY is such a sweet and loving boy. I am blessed to have him in my life.

Notes from Home
5/14 Luna has become such a part of our family, I can't believe it's been already (or only) 2 years. She still follows me around like my little shadow around the house, always close by, flopping down at my feet to get pets, looking at me and meowing as if to say "yeah, you know what" wherever I stand. And of course, being a well-trained cat meowmy, I do oblige. She's won the heart of my husband, who will religiously spend time every morning and every evening zoom-grooming her in the bathroom (that's the spot she picked for it, no idea why, but who am I to argue with a Siamese!
When we or our now 7-yr old son have friends over to visit, she always comes to see who she may be able to convince to pet her. While she can still get skittish with sudden movements of anyone, she doesn't run off but just goes a little bit and comes back and is happy to be around her people to ask for (well, demand) more petting.
At night she still happily sleeps either on my pillow, or next to me.

Betsy, now Luna Pearl, is doing great. I have attached some recent photos. She is becoming more and more chatty, always around us and demanding our attention. She is just what we were hoping for and more. She is goofy, goes crazy playing with her Octopus, and is so so sweet. She and our son are growing closer each day, and she follows me around like a little shadow when I'm at home. The other night my husband woke up to see us holding hands while we were sleeping (or would it be holding paws?), too bad he didn't get a picture.

10/21/14: Luna is doing great. She has become a real part of our family. I know Siamese are chatty, but Luna is in a different league. She has the biggest vocabulary of any meezer I've known (and we've had 6 in our family). It makes conversations certainly interesting. I have uploaded some pictures - she still really likes to hold hands, which is so sweet. At night, she either sleeps by my side or draped around my head. It took some getting used to, especially since her purr is so loud, but it's really sweet :-). At night after I go to bed, she will go downstairs to either stare down my husband or yell at him until he comes to bed too. When I bring my son to bed, she always joins us for storytime as well. So you see, she has a job to do, to make sure everyone gets tucked in safely! She is eating well, using her litterbox faithfully and the vet even noticed her having gained a little weight. Her fur is super soft now. We give her some probiotic, enzyme and some kind of fiber supplements since she has a little loose stool sometimes and that seems to help. She does sound a bit congested sometimes, has some kind of post-nasal drip and does some crazy hacking sounds. Our vet believes it's from a poorly (or not) treated URI a while back just a chronic thing, but it doesn't seem to bother her. I tried some saline drops in her nose, but she really hated that so we are for now just watching it to see whether it gets better.

QUEEN
If you like your cats strong like your coffee, you will love me! I am your "wild child," a world class 4 year old Blue Point beauty, with an indomitable personality. I am an alpha female, and I want to be your baby.

I will ROCK YOUR BONES with purrs when I lay on you in the morning. And in the evening. And when you nap.
I love to play, and I thrive on attention.

You''ll b e speaking Siamese when I am around, and I prefer it, unless it's "baby talk." My vocal range is huge and includes "chirps" when I am happy.

Please dear family, forever family, please come for me. I am waiting for you.

Adopted Queen last Feb. 14, Valentine's Day .She is a sweet and beautiful little girl with a strong
personality. She is adopting very well to her new environment. She is now more relaxed and is comfortable with both of us. She likes to sit on us and give us a kiss occasionally, at her own convenience of course!!

Her name is now MITSOU.

Thanks to Kate, her foster mom, who took such good care of her and all the other
volunteers involved.

PASSION
Hello....hello? Anyone out there? Come on, who doesn't want to bring home the best little lap cat in the world? I'm super super sweet. I will follow you everywhere, occasionally talking to you with my tiny little meow. But what I love most is for you to sit down and invite me on your lap. I will purr and snuggle and sleep there for hours. I would be ok with another cat or a calmer dog, but what I most want is for you to hold me in your lap and give me lots of love. That's not too hard, right? So go ahead and ask about me. Purrs.

Sophie has settled in over these 7 months. She loves her "sister", Curi, and tolerates her "brother" dog, Riley. She has lost a lot of her skittishness but can still be wary with loud noises. Sophie has also become the "alpha" in our house, even though she is the newest pet addition to the family. And she's the most vocal, constantly chattering to me. She is definitely a lap cat and loves snuggling.

Notes from Home
Simon and I are doing well, even though it has been a little over two weeks, he is feeling right at home. He sleeps with me every night, and sits in my lap most of the evening. We are still experimenting with wet food varieties, but he doesn't seem to turn away from anything. He has a slight ear infection, but the Vet gave me drops. He hates when I apply the medicine but gets over the treatment quickly. He is not using the clawing post given to me and it kind of bothering me with his clawing. I will try to work on a solution for this.
