Outgoing, talkative, demanding, loving, everywhere and anywhere, I'm all about being around my people, talking to them, checking everything out, and wanting to explore! Every day is a new day and I am just loving life! I'm a bit spooked by things I've never met before (small kids, vacuum cleaners); but overall I never realized there were so many cool things to do in life ! Sit on laps, climb on cat trees, stare out the windows, check out what's for dinner....) Life is GOOD and it would be even better if I could find my very own home!

Notes from Home
Rocky is a great friend. He will come to whatever room I am in. He will lay next to me and sometimes on me. He has to be in my business all the time. He gets in the sink when I am brushing my teeth or putting on makeup. He waits outside the shower for me to get done. He loves company and doesn't hesitate to get on people's laps. Very small people make him a little nervous. He happily approached a very quiet 2year old sitting on my sofa, and received lots of pets and a hug. However if the small child is very active and boisterous he will keep his distance. This is strange because grown-up noisy people don't phase him. He knows where all the sun spots are in the house at different times of the day. He is very talkative to me and my husband with that strange little squeaky voice.
Rocky has never scratched the furniture and is content with the cardboard scratch boards. He has great litter box habits. I think the counter tops are a lost cause but he does get down when I tell him.
The vet said he would get all his stripes and he has.
Rocky will go on the screen porch IF I am out there also. He has no desire to go outside. I think he is thinking "The last time I went outside they closed the door and I never got back in. I'm not taking any chances!"
I love my baby. Had to leave him overnight as went went away for the weekend. He was fine but glued himself to me when I got home.
06/23/14
Rocky runs to his safe place (under my bed) whenever the doorbell rings. He soon comes out to check out the visitors. If I have a party with a lot of people he will not come out. He is still afraid of toddlers. I have a new grandson and I am hoping when he is older Rocky will overcome his fears. He is so smart. He will sit on command. He knows when its time for his treats. He is still good about not scratching furniture. He loves to watch the birds the cat tree on the screened porch. He likes high places. He is not good about keeping his claws sheathed when he wants to touch me, so we have to clip them often. He submits to this very well. He is great company for me. Last summer I went away for a week. My sister looked in on him daily and made sure he got his treats. He seemed okay with this and was glad to see me when I got home. Oh I almost forgot. When I watch TV in the evening I put a throw over myself. If I fall asleep Rocky steals the blanket and snuggles into it on the floor. I wake up cold.:)

Rocky is getting less afraid of strangers. When the doorbell rings he heads for the bedroom as always, but now he stops in the doorway to see who it is. Sadly he is still terrified of toddlers. My 3 year old grandson loves cats and would love to be friends with Rocky.

Wait just a second! I'm working on this terrible shelter cold. Meommy is going to take me to the vet next week for a check up and some meds to get rid of this nasty thing. But when I feel better I'm going to be ready to play!!
There's are some great toys here. And there are some other kitties too. I scared the dickins out of one of them. Meommy wants to see if I like any of the girls but she said I have to get over this cold first.
I'm having dreams of sugar plums dancing in my head. And maybe a good climb right up that Christmas tree!
You better ask about me quick though because I'm so cute folks are going to be fighting over me.
I'd like to open all the gifts of new kitty toys from the Siamese Store that you've bought for me!
Purrs and chirps, Pippin

Notes from Home
Rocky was welcomed home and has been doing great! He is still young and full of mischievous energy. He is enjoying himself as he explores every single inch of the house, both high and low, inside and out. He's been sprinting into the bedroom at 60 or 70mph and launching himself onto the bed, doing a mid-air 180, and streaking back the way he came in. He loves to get into the highest, tightest areas and cause havoc and knock everything over. I think that in a former life he was a dog, because he really enjoys poking around in the kitchen garbage can, and is fascinated by the toilet. He also likes to lick my face and boy does he have a rough tongue. He gets the good, expensive stuff, but he is more interested in what the humans are having for breakfast or dinner. He is a fan of vegetables, spaghetti, and even oatmeal, although we tell him this makes him weird, he is a rebellious cat doing his thing.
Overall he's the coolest cat in our neighborhood, because I've heard that the only other cat around is at the neighbor's house. His name is Sport, only 7 months old and has been knocking things over, going through the garbage, drinking from the toilet..JEEZ what kind of cat would do THAT?!

22JUN16 - Rocky has been living life to the fullest and is enjoying himself. He is still a rambunctious young man and continues to sprint around the house and has found a dear love of balloons. He seriously cannot get enough of them. He is showing us his moves as he boxes the string and he then goes parading around the house with the balloon firmly gripped in his mouth. He is so PROUD to have the skills to conquer such a devious floating...thing with a string. We have a high ceiling in the living room and if somehow he loses the balloon and it floats to the top, out of his reach, he becomes very agitated and stares at the balloon and complains until I retrieve it with two broom handles taped together. I have to hide the balloon in the closet in order to get his attention away from it. So he just LOVES birthdays, Valentine's Day, even Father's Day..because he usually gets a balloon to play with!
We have been feeding him a grain free dry food, usually Wellness or comparable. No 9 Lives or Meow Mix for this guy. I had a much-loved Blue Russian cat named Davy when I was growing up, and he died from kidney failure, which I'm sure was a result of the 9 Lives he ate everyday. Rocky is eating about a third of a can of wet food around 7 every evening. He prefers his wet food VERY wet, as a stew more than a pate, so I add quite a lot of water and he laps it all up. He was really digging the Solistic brand wet food with all the chunks and shreds of actual meat, but lately he just wants soupy lumpy pate. So we give him what he wants. He's more of a fish connoisseur than a chicken or turkey fan. He definitely prefers a fish-based dry food..this we find out after we bought a big bag of chicken recipe. Oops. Yeah he's definitely not chowing down on this as much but he's eating well nonetheless. He's at about 9 pounds now. Still very athletic and agile. He just had a visit to the vet for his leukemia shot so he's up to date in the medical department. He's really well behaved at the vet, and they are truly surprised at how he just allows them to position him and do their work. He's a pretty laid back dude. He also doesn't put up much resistance to an occasional bath either. He's fairly quiet during that ordeal and he does rake my arm a little or hook my shirt and try to climb out after 10 minutes or so, but overall he should be commended for his stoic bravery and the trust he places in his humans.
Rocky has been asking me about his foster mom Carol and wants her to know that he is forever grateful for her taking care of him when he had that nasty cold way back when, and for allowing Chris and Dandan to live with him in Port Republic. He's a member of the family and yes he's a spoiled cat. He has his own ginormous cat tree that is his personal territory and he does not tolerate any human encroachment of the top platform. I have indeed been swatted in the head as I walk past at night in the dark without knowing he's even up there. He's got fast hands and he's living up to his namesake. Rocky!

SUNY
I'm a little reserved at first, but with a soft touch and gentle hand, I warm right up. Young and healthy, I need to see the vet this week and will be ready to go the third week of June. A quieter home with a loving female cat, or as the only cat; either would work. I'm a slightly crosseyed very gentle souled kitty looking for my furever family.

Notes from Home
June 2016: Can it be five years already!? Suny is still as wonderful, sweet and loving as ever. He had his yearly check up in May and is in great health, but we see some plague on his teeth so it may be time to get those polished. Suny's canines are rather long and the veterinarian remarked on how he has kept these so nicely!

He is a remarkable kittie and we love him dearly. Thank you!
-Cathay and Mike

June, 2012: This amazing cat has been with me for a year now! He's such a great companion to my little dog Sophie. The updated photo shows them sleeping in the bed under my desk in my home office.

Suny is playful, warm and loving, and no trouble at all. He seems to appreciate life, just like me, and reminds me to enjoy and relish the moments. He follows me around the house and flops down in a way that always brings a smile to me. While sleeping, he often rolls over on his back, and when awake and loving he often likes his tummy rubbed. His favorite toy is anything with feathers, although Sophie gets excited about this too. I end up throwing fetch with her with one hand while wiggling the feathery toy for Suny with the other. It's quite a nightly dance!

I can't thank you enough for Suny. I love him dearly!

We've had Suny here for two weeks, and yet, it feels like he's been here forever. The first night, he settled right in and slept with me and my little dog Sophie as if he knew his place. His purring and appreciative slinky body rubs against my hand, head, legs and arms are like a pouring out of how affectionate he is.

Suny never seemed to need much time to adjust. We began adapting him to his new home by keeping him in the master bedroom, with a cat tower by the 2nd story window and a 'igloo type' of cat box in the bathroom. He explored every nook and cranny right away, every item from top to bottom. Then he looked at me and seemed to let me know the closet was next.

After that, he explored the hall and my office. It all went swimmingly. I kept Sophie in my arms so she could see Suny and not overwhelm him, but they both indicated a time when they wanted to formally meet, and this could not have gone better.

As the days progressed, they have moved from sleeping on each side of me to one side, and now to sharing Sophie's day bed under my office desk when I am working. They play tag with each other and respect each other's food and space. The only thing I have to watch is Sophie's attraction to Suny's feathery toy...I have had to replace that one already. Sophie has a basket of toys but when I am playing with Suny and this toy, it's a bit much for the little dog! I end up holding her and we trade times playing (fetch with Sophie and scramble attack the feathery toy with Suny)! It is getting better.

Suny immediately knew where the food, water and cat box were and had no problems. He wants to follow us outside to the garden when I go out to weed and water, but he's learning that his domain is this home. And that he, my prince of a cat, makes this place even more of a warm home than ever.

He is wonderful, loving, angelic and delightful. He has fit right in! Thank you Siri, Andrea and all who assist with the adoption process.

Notes from Home
Spike is my first Siamese Rescue foster failure. He just crawled up on me and won my heart immediately. He is fitting in like he has always been here, so I'm sure it was meant to be.

Spike gets along with all of the pets. Our old cats, Mr. Precious and Trouble, have made it clear not to bother them too much and he is usually respectful. Our 6 year old, Oreo, is showing him the ropes - and all bad habits, such as sleeping on the diningroom table! He is also Spike's playmate and they have begun racing around the house together. Lady, our dog, who has been raised with foster kittens, has been very tolerant. Spike likes to attack her tail and hind legs and Lady perks up, but doesn't take any action. They try to play together, but Spike has a little growing to do before that works very well.

Spike has had the full 24/7 run of the house for 4 days now and is doing great. He follows me around much of the time and comes when I either call him (Spike Spike the little Tyke) or make kissy sounds. He isn't overly adventurous and hasn't gotten into too much - yet. At night, he sleeps on our bed, purring, and wanting snuggles. He has been excellent at night, although I'm waiting for that to change!

He had his first vet visit yesterday and received many ooh's and aah's at the vet's office. Besides occasional sneezing, he is doing great.

I'm thrilled to have this sweet little guy, so full of personality, become a part of our family. I absolutely adore Spike!

FRUITTI
Hi, I'm Fruitti. I'm here with my sister, Tutti, and love to play and snuggle with her. Meowmy isn't sure yet if we need to stay together, but I will definitely need a playmate to go home to.

Are you looking for a cutie like me? If so, ask about me and maybe I can come live with you.

Purrs,

dear fans,

june 2016:
MOOKIE (formerly known as Fruitti) came to us in December 2015 and is now a 10-month old beauty queen. just a tiny squirt when she transferred from her foster mom Jeanne to her God parents in Virginia and still a little squirt when we got her home.
full of life and the sweetest kitten in the world, she met and very quickly -- if not immediately (bragging a bit here...) bonded with her brother Panda (formerly Peeta, adopted in 2012), the most handsome showshoe siamese you've ever seen, also the sweetest boy ever. as you can see from the pictures, they're quite a pair. grateful to siamese rescue for matching us up with this little angel, as we lost Panda's "real" sister Katniss last year unexpectedly due to cancer, and were heartbroken. Mookie and Panda both happy and healthy. everyone they meet asks, WHERE DID YOU GET THESE CATS??? love and good health to everyone, jill, jeff, mookie and panda

TREVOR
I've never met a stranger and Foster Meowmy says I'm into everything! Not sure why she says that because I run around the house at top speed.

Have met a Greyhound woofer that I liked and there are many other kitties here that are teaching me a thing or two. I think they call it manners!!!!

Notes from Home
Wow, hard to believe that we picked up this sweet little mess one year ago today. Seems like he has been here all along. His best friend is the dog, poor Fio never eats alone, Trevor is always there to help. In fact Trevor likes to help everyone eat. He is an endless ball of energy. He is the greeting committee, always meets us at the door. Likes to make sure that his daddy is "in there" by poking his nose in my husbands face while he is trying to sleep! He really is a very good boy, gets along well with everything and everyone.

He has his one year check up at the vet tomorrow with his brother Bodi just to make sure he is as health as he appears.

6 months has gone by so fast hard to believe that this little devil has been with us for 6 months. He has settled in extremely well. His favorite four legged friend is our 144 pound dog. Trevor is chased by the dog then he chases the dog. He is great with our two other cats as well.

He loves playing with our Granddaughter and very gentle with her. He has learned that curling up in his daddy's lap is a good thing and demands that my husband sit down so that he can get in his lap. He likes to play chase with me. He has gained a bit more weight than I would have liked for him to but trying to keep him out of the food is difficult. He loves what ever we are eating and is a bit rude but eventually listens.

Christmas has presented a bit of a challenge for all three cats, even the 18 year old cat has been taking the ornaments off the tree. Trevor knocked the tree over on Saturday then rolled over looking at me very innocently like "I didn't do anything wrong, I'm a good boy!". Fortunately it is only a 3 foot tree and no expensive ornaments on it.

A few months back my brother and his wife cam to visit and brought their dog. Trevor loved their dog, had a blast playing with him. The dog was not so sure about Trevor and decided that it was best to sit with his mommy and daddy and let the cat come sit with them.

He really is a very sweet boy, cannot image not having him. He does provide many hours of entertainment, loves to play with his cube and all of the toys in the cube.

Again, thank you for rescuing this little boy he really does not have any bad habits, great about only scratching the posts that we have for the cats and the cat tree. Littler box is never an issue until I scoop it out, he is always there to help (no help at all, but definitely makes me laugh!).

Well it has been a little over 3 weeks since Trevor came to his forever home. He has settled in quite nicely. He went to the vet yesterday, a very quick visit. He is doing very well has gained a few pounds! He loves everyone, even met my 2 year old granddaughter and loved her....followed her all over the house. He plays with our Mastiff and the other two cats. He likes to lay on the floor in the evening next to the dog.

We do have to watch open beers, glasses of wine or any thing with liquor in it as he will help him self to it. He quickly respects the work No! He is such a joy!

Hello everybody. Update on MR O'Rian (as we call him). Mr O'Rian has adapted very well, as he has the run of the house and no one to bother him. He is a very good eater and has very good litter box habits. He is very patient and obedient. He's not a lap sitter but is affectionate. Likes his pets and belly rubs and asks for them often. He is a happy and healthy cat. Likes to sleep on the bed with me and has his ways of waking me up so he can eat. We understand each other well. His favorite pastime is watching the birds and sleeping. He does play somewhat. He's getting used to all the sounds and noise in his new environment. His fears have subsided although he is afraid of spiders. He saw one on his way to the litter box and is now very leery with each step. I have to sprinkle peppermint to keep them away. I would say he is doing extremely well. He is a good companion. All is well.

MARIE
Is anybody reading this?
Picasso meezer here - she of various points like seal and flame all mixed up and splattered about my body.
I do have lovely baby blues though!!!
I'm teaching foster Mary a new trick (she's so trainable I love it!). She gives me ear and chin scritches and when she stops I meow so she starts up again. I'll do it over and over and over; she comes back and back and back. It's great fun.
I am very shy though. I'll take a bit to warm up and I do scatter quite quickly when approached on foot (you on foot, me on paws).
I'm going to be a real sweetheart when I learn to trust again though.
just cause I'm the odd duckling doesn't mean I don't want a loving home though - just going to need a patient adopter who won't give up on me.

Marie went to the vets today she checked out very healthy. She is doing great lost another 1/2 pound my vet was not to concerned with her weight. Told me to keep up with the amount iam giving her and see if she looses more weight next check up. She is much more relaxed come out of room sometimes. I spend time with her in the room one on one. She likes that. She is a real beauty very nice cat. We love her so much
Thank you all for a nice addition to our family Mike and Eva
Hello,
Got your 1 year anniversary e-mail I went to the vets and got clean bill of health. I only weigh 13 and 1/2 pounds now I feel much better with all that weight gone. I love my forever home I sleep on the bed with mom and dad and the dog every night. I even come out and watch tv with them sometimes. I still don't like to be touched but when I need something I talk loud and my mommy always seems to know what I need. I tell them I love them and they laugh. They give me my space from the dog when I need it she is sometimes a little to hyper me. Iam doing real good. Thanks for checking on me.

EVIE
Hi there! My name is Sophie and foster Meowm says I am a sweetie. I had kittens weaned from me May 12th so my spa treatment felt so good, that I purred the whole time. Sure is good to get some attention again. I have shown meowm that I am a real lady by using my litter pan . I also love to sit on her lap and let her brush me while I purr to tell her "please don't stop, it feels sooooo good! Meowm says I am could be a "tortie flame" because my points have orange in them but the rest of me is so creamy.
I got a great report from the vet on May 16th. She said that though I'm a little thin, I'm healthy! I should be ready to go to a forever home by the 2nd week of June. Meowmy says I have to wait till my milk dries up before the nice doctor can give me my "education".
Check out my pictures and maybe you'll decide that I am that special kitty you're looking for! I sure would love a forever home all of my own. I don't think I'd mind other cats, a nice dog or even children, as long as they wouldn't hurt me.

Update: 5/23. Well I met the dog and head butted her! She liked me too and gave me a sloppy dog kiss. Hump!! Had to give myself a bath!

I've been moved up to a nice sunny room all of my own now, and am enjoying just laying in the sunbeam. The only thing that could be better than this is a home all of my own with sun shinning into every room. Is that yours? If you want a no-issue, cutie like me, please tell foster meowmy.

Purrin for ya,
Sophie

Notes from Home
6/17/16: Evie is a wonderful old lady. She has some arthritis, but nothing too troublesome. In fact, she surprised us by greeting us from the top of the fridge this morning. She can still jump a good 5-6 feet off the ground. Evie will be having some dental work done later this summer. Otherwise her health is great. Can't imagine life without her!

6/19/15: Evie is about to be a big sister again! We're expecting a baby girl (our second child) in August. Evie is as happy and healthy as can be. She's the sweetest kitty and still shares our bed every night. We love her more now than ever.

6/20/14: Evie now lives in beautiful Centennial, CO. She and Sneakers love slipping into the backyard (when we're all out in it) to chase grasshoppers! Evie sometimes isn't so sure about her newest "brother", Odin (my son--now almost 2 years old), when he gets to running around, but they're great friends when he's sitting still. She gives him kisses. :) Evie is the biggest love bug and is a favorite with all who meet her. No one can resist her purr!

6/17/10: It's hard to believe it's been 4 years since I adopted Evie. Time sure does fly! Evie is as healthy as can be and continues to be one of the loves of my life! She and Sneakers spend their time playing, grooming one another, and watching the birds who are nesting on the fire escape right outside our window. I really can't imagine life without them! I'm going to upload a picture of Evie in her new bed. Boy, does she love that thing. I originally only bought one bed, foolishly thinking that Sneakers wouldn't want one of his own. As you can see from the picture, I was very wrong! I had to go back to the pet store to buy him his own the very next day!

Happy Anniversary to Evie and me! We've had another great year together. She really is one of the best cats I've ever had. She curls up on my chest every evening, purring nonstop, keeping me company while I read a book. She and my other cat, Sneakers, are the best of friends and love playing, eating, sleeping, and bird watching. We just moved to a new apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, right across the street from Central Park, so the birds are plentiful! There's nothing cuter than watching Evie 'chatter' at the birds sitting on the fire escape.

Evie had her check up last month so she's UTD on her vaccinations. She's maintained her weight at a healthy 10 lbs, but the vet said again that we don't want her gaining any more. She and Sneakers eat Wellness indoor cat food and are quite active, but she's still as round as round can be!

I'm currently fostering a dog from the NYCACC and Evie just LOVES her. Then again, Evie loves everyone (and everyone loves Evie)!

I'm uploading a picture of Evie hiding out in the closet. My coat had fallen off the hangar and she thought it made a great bed!

Thank you again for everything!

OK so it took me 24 hours before I showed my loving side! I'm at foster Mummy's through no fault of my own, just hard times, you know how that can be.

Now I'm a love machine, YES, honest I am! I drooled on foster Mummy last night because of all the loving we had going on.

If you want a beautiful, purring, biscuit making, follower that gently chats to you, then put your paw on the Ask About Me button. However, you have to have lots of time to give me because I'm a people kitty.

Notes from Home
When I was going into Luna’s room this afternoon with a fresh bowl of water and plate with a dab of wet food on it, she made her escape. By the time I put down the bowl and plate, she had dashed into my bedroom and came face to face with Morwenna (my resident seal point). They touched noses, Morwenna hissed a bit and Luna fluffed up her tail but didn’t hiss. Morwenna then turned around and went to one side of the room, and Luna ran into another corner of the room. I picked Luna up and brought her back to her room, where she proceeded to immediately eat her wet food as though she didn’t have a care in the world. I think Morwenna was more perturbed than Luna was!
I will have to make sure their next meeting has more adult supervision.

6/21/2012 - Luna here. I went to the vet today. It was not too bad - no shots, just an examination. But I was glad to get home! That other cat kept crying at the door of my room, so meowmy put up a baby gate between us so we could check each other out. No problem there - we didn't even hiss at each other. I was more interested in getting out of the room to explore and she was more interested in getting in to see what was going on. Meowmy let me out and I had a good time checking out my new digs.

6/22/2012 - Luna here again. I was allowed out of my iso room and am settling in nicely. Meowmy and I had a nice nap in her bed - I do love to snuggle! That other cat is still not 100% sure of me, but I think she finally realized I am not going anywhere, so she had better make the best of it.

6/30/2012 - Luna here. Hard to believe I've only been here two weeks. I'm quite settled in. I think that other cat has realized I'm here to stay. She is trying to play with me but I'm not quite sure yet. But we get along fine. We both sleep in the bed with meowmy - in fact, last night we both slept on the same pillow (we're quite spoiled!).

7/28/2012 - Luna here. Nothing much to report, just checking in since it's been a while. Everything is good. I like to tease the other cat Morwenna by pouncing on her when she least expects it. I am getting rather brave, if I do say so myself! Check out my new pics. Meowmy has been trying to get some of us two cats together, but it's hard 'cause we're always on the go. It's like herding cats! (tee-hee).

12/22/2012 - Luna here. How time flies when you're having fun! It has been just over six months and I have settled in like I have always been here. Life is good. Just wanted to wish everyone a Meowy Christmas and a Happy New Purr (OK, that one was a stretch). Check out my recent pictures. I like to plop down on top of that other cat Morwenna 'cause she's always in the best, most snuggly spot.

6/19/2013 - Luna here on my one year anniversary. Goodness, has it been a year already? I still remember that seemingly endless 12 hour car ride it took to get here, but it was worth it. Everything is good except for some minor health issues. I went to the vet at the end of April to update my rabies and distemper "jabs." Unfortunately I had a reaction to the distemper shot and had a swollen lump on my shoulder that took quite a while to go away, but I'm all better now. I also have to have a dental and they will probably have to remove some teeth - I am not looking forward to that! Oh, well, you can just call me Snaggle Puss. That's all I have to say for now - TTFN!

12/20/2013 "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth..." Well, I finally had my dental and GOOD NEWS! The vet didn't have to pull any teeth - she said the roots looked just bee-yoo-tee-ful in the x-rays, so no extractions were required. I am a happy girl. So I have nice clean choppers for Christmas. Life is good!

9/19/2014 It's been a while, so I thought it was time for an update. That other cat Morwenna has been very sick the past few months, but is doing much better. However, being the sensitive thing that I am, I was so stressed out about the whole thing that I got a nasty urinary tract infection and it took a while to clear up (finally after two courses of antibiotics). Meowmy was more worried about me than the other cat! We are both doing fine now. Keep your fingers crossed that things remain calm and stress-free from now on.

6/17/2016 Luna here - has it been almost two years since I wrote an update? Shame on me! I had my teeth cleaned on 6/6. I didn't have to have any teeth pulled, but had one premolar where the root had basically dissolved (due to resorptive disease) so they had to do a crown amputation to remove the top. Now that the bad tooth is gone, maybe I will let meowmy brush my teeth. They do look nice and clean now! I also had a sebaceous cyst removed near the base of my tail. That had a big inch long incision with seven stitches - I looked like a Frankenstein cat (meowmy said it was like sleeping with a porcupine, 'cause the ends of the stitches kept poking her). I went back to the vet today and had the stitches removed. Traumatized twice in less than two weeks! Hopefully things will be calm from now on. Other than that I am doing well. That's about it for now.
