Notes from Home
KiKi is a joy and is very outgoing, loves to play with her brother, KoKo, and sleeps with/on us every night. All is well.
7.09.16 - KiKi continues to be a joy. At a recent vet visit, our vet was absolute enthralled with her deep blue eyes and said he had never seen eyes that color in all of his years of practice. He even asked our permission to take a picture of her. (By that time, she was frightened and her eyes were dilated and almost totally black, so I don't think his photo turned out well.) She is very affectionate with us and with her brother, KoKo, but always hides if anyone comes to our house. She eats well and weighed 9.4 at her last visit. Her fur is longer and not as dense as KoKo's. She looks roly-poly while he is long and lean! She also brings us her toys (mice, felt bow, etc.)

KAJA
I purr, I turn my head to have both sides of my chin rubbed and I like to be held. I snuggled right into the Millie Bed my foster mom had ready for me. I was a stray and recently had kittens, but I can't tell anyone what happened to them.
Update:
Life is getting better every day, oh yeah! The good treatment here has given me a real lift. I get to be a girl of leisure, play with my toys and get lots of pets and rubs. A lap to sit on! I really like other cats. I can adjust to dogs as well as long as you can give me time and they don't get too personal. Those other animals will have to let me do lots of the talking. And I do talk. And purr, purr, purr. Things are looking up in every way!

Kaja is doing very well. She is the Queen here at Mountain Bear Lodge. She is John's Office Assistant, too! Can't print anything without her help!
Kaja has been with us 4 years and we adore her! She moved in without much bother and was sleeping in the crook of John's legs on the first night we had her! Or I should say, "She had us"!
July, 2016
Kaja continues to thrive. She has had issues with bad teeth and now only has about 4 left, but,it doesn't slow her down with eating. We love her and she is just the best cat!

Notes from Home
Bosun (formerly known as Sam), or Big Boy as I like to call him, has been my buddy since he moved in. He has been my alarm clock in the morning, waking me up for breakfast by gently pawing my face and nipping my nose. He is a bottomless pit of head butts, likes to be close to your face, and loves to be held. His favorites during playtime are chasing around a soft toy and wrestling with his sister. I can't wait to learn more about him as he settles in!

GINGER
Although I am a little more reserved than Sam, I still like to play and get pets. Scratching on posts and laying in the cat tree are two of my favorite things. I will follow you around, as long as Sam is there and like to sleep with you in the bed.
What's better than having one affectionate and playful Meezer, Having Two of course!!!

Notes from Home
Zenith (formerly known as Ginger) has become more comfortable in the past two weeks. When she first arrived, she was very timid, but now she approaches me for petting. I can tell she is pure sweetness, just a little shy. Of all the toys I have given her to play with, of course her favorite is a string I cut off from one of my blinds!. She loves to romp around with her brother, but is also becoming more independent. She gently chirps when you pick her up, and has started to enjoy being cradled like a baby. I am positive that her and her brother are real siblings, because they each have one white whisker above their eyes and on their left cheeks. Also, their mannerisms are exactly the same! It's delightful to observe. I can't wait to learn more about this sweet young lady as she settles in more.

ZORRO
Zorro here - calmly posing for my MOST WANTED poster, but in a FLASH I will return to the rafters to defend my lookout from the authorities who seek to oust me. Safe behind my dashing black mask, I can see you, but you can't see me...HA HAAAH! I will only come out at night, cunning and fox-like to take nourishment from the community trough. It is then that I will speak to the commoners and learn of their imprisonment here. Some have been here for thirteen years - poor souls. But I will have a better fate - my carrier awaits!! But for now, it's back to the rafters, where I will lie in wait, carefully watching my bumbling captor with her constant chorus of 'here kitty kitty'. Oh how I delight in humiliating her.

Foster Notes for Zorro [VA11436] |
Seriously - a super nice guy. Purrs and headbutts galore, but he is very shy initially. He does like to be up high where he feels safe. With a little patience and encouragement, he's going to be a super guy. Just no kids, dogs, or aggressive and/or alpha cats in new home for now, until I get to know him better. |

Notes from Home
Zorro had a somewhat rough beginning. He was quite skittish when we got him in June 5, and things got worse when we took him to the vet two days later--he more or less lived under furniture in the room we released him in..
He seemed to be coming around by June 16, but then we left him for three weeks in an empty house. He had the run of several rooms on two floors, and people came in two to three times a day to take care of him. On our return on July 2, he was obviously distressed--I am guessing he viewed us as an intrusion--and urinated on a bed twice the first night. I had thought it would take a couple of weeks to bring him around. But now. July 5, he seems comfortable and playful and is beginning to be the nuisance any kitten should be--toilet paper is unrolled, items are knocked to the floor, and the like. He keeps to his room more than I like, but we are allowed to pet and play with him there and he purrs a lot when we pet him
Mornings and evenings, he makes a point of coming to where we are and letting us pet him as he walks by, purring andrubbing against our legs. But he lies down well out of reach, and makes no effort to sit in our laps. He still doesn't like to be picked up or held, but I have been making a point of lifting him up in his room and lifting him on a high place he likes to be. He struggled the first time and made to jump down when he got there, but I blocked him and, after thinking about it, he came around and rubbed his forehead against mine, purred, and stayed put. Now is getting used to being picked up and placed there, and no longer struggles or tries to jump off when he gets there. I'll start carrying him to other places he will like in a few days, and see if that doesn't further accustom him to be being carried. We'll have to start working on his tendency to bite toes and overuse his claws, but we hope to get another cat to teach him how not to hurt people you want to play with. For the moment, I try to wear shoes whenever I am around him

SHANDY
Okay, so here we go! It's time for me to find a furever home. I'm almost over my kitty cold and am still packing on the pounds (alright, so maybe it's only ounces) so that I can get big and strong enough for my surgery then I can go home. My name is Old English for rambunctious ... no worries there my Foster Meowm named me appropriately. I'm quite the exuberant, playful, leg climbing, little lady. I'm also very vocal and I love to snuggle too but not for long as there is much too much for a kitten to do to spend time snuggling you know. So let's see who's first in line ...
Mews,
Shandy

Notes from Home
I hope my previous email has reached you regarding Shandy. She is a big, healthy cat, who loves her child, Bella. Bella is my Blue pt. that we purchased shortly after adopting Shandy. Shandy has adopted her. The only problem is fleas, after 5 years this is a first. For two cats that do not leavethe house, it baffled me.
Cheryl
Shandy is quite well as you will se when I submit her picture. She and her "sister" Bella, another siamese, are happy together. Shandy like to mother Bella. There is a stray black cat that I have been feeding and would like to bring in. I beleive someone left her. I also beleive she was an indoor cat and has been spayed. I feel that Shandy will accept her, since when they see each other in the glass thru the storm door, there is no hissing.
What to do? Also anq recommendation on how to keep them off the kitchen table.
Thank you

Notes from Home
Hello and Happy New Year! It is indeed Isadora's and my 6 month anniversary! My intentions to update you and upload some photos of Izzie before now have been overtaken by much activity in our work and family concerns. These events in no way have altered my dedication to Isadora and her care. In fact it has brought her needs to the forefront and made our bond even stronger. She recently had a health concern which took us through some changes from emergency to her regular vet and finally the greatest blessing is to have found a new and most capable veternary hospital and a new veternarian. They call Isadora a queen! My sweet, beautiful feline companion is loved by all who meet her. Even those who claim no cat enthusiasm! Izzie is and will remain my purrfect feline companion! She is now resting on her cat tree watching cat TV through the livingroom bay window as she is accustomed to doing each morning after breakfast. We have had our 20 minute playime with feathers, strings, and mousies just prior to breakfast. She still finds new places to hide and rest and occupy in the house. Izzie uses her paw everyday to be in touch with us and everyone and ask for strokes and attention! Izzie is truly a delightful girl and she's my girl! I love her dearly, she is family! Izzie rocks with love!
Hi there all affiliated with the Va. Siamese Rescue! Siri & Karen, It is July 4, 2015 and one joyfilled year since Charles and I took that early morning drive to Locust Dale Va. to meet and bring home our pretty Isadora! It has been an amazing year and also a difficult year as my husband was diagnosed with cancer New Years Day and I was diagnosed in late January with severe osteoarthritis in my hips and will recieve a hip replacement on August 20th. Enough about the humans. Izzie has been loving and a sweet, sweet joy. She makes us laugh, she askes for love and strokes with her paw, head bumps, and little meows. Sometime she meows with no sound just an open mouth! How sweet is that? We call her Isadora as well as Izzie and other various and affectionate feline nicknames such as pretty girl, sweet girl or sweetie one! She continues to makes friends of everyone who comes to our home, but most of all Charles is her boyfriend! She seeks him out numerous times daily for his lap and love, lots of love. She makes him chuckle and laugh which warms my heart! She curls up for naps with him and he naps at least once a day. This is good medicine for Charles!!! Izzie is excellent medicine for Charles!!! She doesn't much sit on my lap, but will sleep on my legs in bed at night or if I catch the occasional afternoon nap. She likes to sleep under the covers too. There is no real predictable schedule of activities with her save eating and sleeping. She chooses when and where these events occur for her. She requires breakfast, dinner, treats and play with me. Karen, you were so right about Isadora being a perfect fit! She is a blessing for us! Sweet, have I said that yet?, gentle, independent, fun, funny, beautiful, loves peacock feathers! a lady, a princess, THE QUEEN! We love her dearly and I am pretty sure she knows it. She knows that this is her forever home. We have all vetted each other and shared many experiences together. Isadora, Charles and Bernadette! We are family!
