July 20, 2016

Hi to all the wonderful people at Siamese Cat Rescue.

Just wanted to finally give you a quick update on Oliver.
Wow, I cannot believe its been a year since we got Ollie. Ollie is doing fantastic. Here is a pic with him and his buddy Oscar. They are waiting for dad to give them treats. How can you say no to that?

Ollie LOVES LOVES LOVES his toys, especially his stuffed ball and mice toys. He spends endless hours batting them down the stairs, then picking them up and doing it all over again. He loves to play fetch when I'm on my computer.

Ollie is such a GREAT cat. He is so easy going. He is best buds with Minnie and they spend the EARLY morning hours chasing each other around our bedroom and office. When he's done he loves to come up on the bed and face butt me and Barry. We call it being Ollied, and then he curls up with us for a nice nap.

Ollie has been kind of hit or miss in my studio, though he does love playing with my wire. He occasionally helps me make fairy wings. I'm hoping to make a pair for him because he is such an angel.

Been crazy busy but hope to get back to crafting for Siamese Rescue. You guys do such great work.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Best regards, Diane

Hi to all the wonderful folks at Siamese Cat Rescue. I just want to drop a quick note to let you all know how Oliver (Jack R.) is doing. To sum it up - great. I don't think we've ever had such a friendly cat. He had a long journey home and was really wiped out as a result. We isolated him in my dining room that has a glass door so he could see out. This is located next to our office and master bedroom suite. He first decided to camp out on top of my china cabinet so we decided to just let him relax and settle in. It took a couple of days but he then started to show some of his great friendly personality. He met the other feline friends through the glass door at first because we have a problem child (Minnie - a three year old tabby who was abused) and were not sure how she would react. We introduced Oliver to our old guy Oscar first because he is mellow and the same temperament as Oliver. The first introduction was Oliver head butting Oscar and following him all around the room. I don't think Oscar quite knew what to make of Oliver, no cat has ever done that to him. So no growling, hissing, or anything, everything went great so we kept them together for several hours. At the end of the week we let Oliver explore some of the house, he followed me around the first floor and pretty much checked out every nook and cranny. With him being more relaxed we finally introduced him to Minnie. My husband and I held our breaths and crossed our fingers, much to our amazement, not a single growl, hiss or more importantly attack. With that introduction there was no need for Oliver to be isolated in the dining room anymore and he is now king of the bed. He loves to run around at top speed chasing and tumbling with Minnie. They are all pretty relaxed and all sleep on the bed together, Oliver even cuddles up to me and my husband and sleeps with us. He is such a great cat and I love him to pieces. Ollie's next adventure, and my fingers crossed, is to my studio to see if he will become my new studio cat. I hope to bring him down with me over the weekend.

Best regards, Diane

GUMMY BEAR
I arrived at the shelter in a box of candy! My mama is Abba-Zaba and while she is shy...I am opinionated! Whether you want it or not :) I was in shelter foster for the past month so I could finish nursing. I do not want to be alone so I need a feline friend---at least ONE.

I am wishing for a forever family of 15- 20 years of loving, close, in your face and underfoot companionship. I am the noisy one. I like to squeal when foster mama picks me up even though I like it.

Purrs,

Gummy Bear

We have officially change the kitty's name to "Tipper".....or long form Tipper Gore Furryousrex aka T-Rex. The neighborhood kids helped with that, and it matches her kitty crazy level!

PASHA
A very shy gal who is cat oriented but not so much with people, I have quite a bit of learning to do. I must go with a buddy cat who loves other cats that I can snuggle with. Quiet smaller home and lots of time and patience.

Notes from Home
Well Pasha is quite a chatter box. I have had a couple of dinner parties and both she and Dillinger have been up front and center stage mingling with everyone. Granted she is elusive when someone wants to pet her, but she does go up to people and inspect them and then sits in the room surveying her guests.

She sleeps on the bed against my legs or between them while Dillinger is asleep next to my head. She makes her ventures during the day to nestle in next to Dillinger when he is napping (photos included). I am able to pet her while she eats most of the times and if she is napping or sitting I can approach her slowly and she allows me to pet her for a good amount of time before I sense she has had enough.

Pasha and Dillinger get closer and closer each day; they have been chasing each other playfully around and doing a nose-to-nose greeting often.

She is never under the bed unless it is advantageous to her sneaking up on Dillinger, and has been surprisingly social with most anyone that comes to the apt.

ASIA
WHEW!!!!!

The last few days have been really rough! Wanna know what happened? Well, let me tell you....

First I ended up at the public shelter and nobody came to get me:(

Then when foster mom got me I was full of fleas and dirt - I felt awful! Foster mom gave me what she called the super spa treatment - cleansing and conditioning bath, fluff dry, mani/pedi..... I felt a little better but I was still sad:(

Next I went on a hunger strike next. Foster mom tried to make me eat but I was not having it so she had to give me fluids and medicine to help me.

Well, I finally started eating but then I got..... ladies don't usually talk about these things but..... well, constipation!!!

Finally, now everything is working the way it should:) I am eating, drinking, and using my litter box like a lady. My fur is soft and silky and I have lots of energy. I feel pretty good:)

I am a young, sweet, affectionate, petite, loving, talkative, gorgeous seal girl and I am looking for my forever home.

If you think it might be with you, just ask about me, Angelina!

It is July 19th, 2016. It's the 5th year anniversary of Asia's adoption. She remains the love of our lives! She remains the peace maker among our 3 cats. She is a gentle soul. She loves having her ears scratched behind her ears, and sitting with us while watching TV, or socializing. She is a bit over weight. However, we're working on getting her weight down to a healthy level. Asia is very smart girl. I taught her how to retrieve my eye glasses on command, and I was able to capture it on video. We feel very blessed to have Asia as part of our family. Her brother "Fushu," whom we adopted from the Siamese rescue a few weeks after Asia, is also doing very well. The two of them get along fine with our queen Bee Sasha, who has been with us for 15 years or so. Jennifer Griffin

SUKI
Sweet little girl, shy at first with humans, and great with other felines. I'm healthy, playful, and social (on my own terms). I'm looking for a quiet home with a Siamese-experienced adopter who is willing to work with me on building a trusting relationship and reap the rewards which will be plenty. I'm ready to go home today, so what are you waiting for?
Purrs,
Susie

Notes from Home
To everyone involved in getting Susie (now affectionately called Suki) to us. She has settled in beautifully and is quite the social butterfly.. She overcomes her shyness very quickly and comes out to visit with anyone who comes into the office where she lives at present. She isn't the least bit shy about requesting attention, and has shown interest in meeting the other cats in the household. She will see our vet Monday or Tuesday, and if all is well, we will let her visit with them one at a time. This seems to be a match made in heaven! Thank you so much!

Our beautiful Suki has been with us two weeks today, and this is a match made in heaven. Our other cats seem to have accepted her readily and there have been no major confrontations. Suki has the run of the house now, and has selected a few hiding places in which to take a nice long nap. She has seen the vet and is in excellent health. She will have her teeth scaled in about six months. I love her sweet affection, and her unselfconscious demands for attention when she desires it.

Suki has now been with us six months, and we can't begin to imagine life without her. She is sweet, friendly, and affectionate, but all the other cats know she will not put up with any nonsense. She continues to be healthy, happy and well adjusted.Having a Siamese in the house is as rewarding as I hoped it would be. All the quirky Meezer traits are what makes Siamese kitties the most fascinating on earth. I wish I could adopt them all! Hope to have some pictures to download soon. Again, thank you to everyone at Siamese Rescue. Our experience with the adoption was incredible, and we have repeatedly recommended the Center to friends and family.

It has been one year since we brought Suki home, and we are still in love. She is sweet and all Siamese. She still follows Jack, our orange tabby around like she is his little sister. She sleeps right under his chin. Her health remains great-she will be seeing the vet again Friday for her annual check-up. Suki brings great joy to our household just as I knew she would. A house is not a home without a Siamese.

ARWEN
Arwen was found as a stray with another kitten, Phoenix. They are possibly littermates, but definitely best friends. Arwen is a high spirited kitten who is active and has just enough tortitude to get into lots of trouble. She and Phoenix are best friends and need to stay together. More info, photos, and videos soon!

Arwen can be a trouble maker but she is a funny trouble maker. She LOVES to play and I believe she has two moods or personalities. She has her sweet lovey side where she will lick your face and purr in your ear while you're trying to sleep haha! And then she has her playful side and I believe they are completely seperate. When she's playful, you better watch out! I love her both her personalities because they go so well together. This morning i was walking out of the bathroom and she pounced on me! She loves to chase her tail and run around the house and down the hallway. She loves to cuddle with my husband, too. He absolutely adores them both. Thank you Siamese Rescue for pairing us with such great cats!

July 18th, 2016: I love my Arwen! She is crazy playful all the time but can be the best snuggler at the same time. Her personality is so adorable and i just love to watch her play. We have times on the weekends where we snuggle and watch TV. She loves my husband to death. I couldn't have had a better match than Arwen and Phoenix. <3

PHOENIX
Phoenix was found as a stray with another cat, possibly littermate, Arwen. He takes a little time to warm up and must check things out thoroughly, but then he becomes a big teddy bear :) He adores his little sister, Arwen, so they need to stay together. More info, photos, and videos soon!

Phoenix is a sweet doll. He and Arwen absolutely love each other. Phoenix loves our attention and loves giving us head butts. He's affectionate all the time! He absolutely loves my husband and his lap! Phoenix likes to run up and down the hallway with his buddy Arwen and they both get called to bed each night. He likes to wake us up in the mornings with his sweet head butts and purrs. He really was meant for us and our home. We will love him forever :)

Feb 27th: phoenix waits for me each evening as I'm pulling into the drive because he knows it's supper time. He purrs and gives me loves all the time and loves to play with Arwen. He has really settled in nicely to our routines.

July 18th: Phoenix has grown up! He's full of snuggles and purrs more than ever and has really settled in nicely. He is the first one to wake me up in the morning and loves to attack our feet when he's playful. I love him to death

DELLA
I was in a shelter for a few weeks and finally got sprung, and have been here for a month. I had a kitty cold and meowmy took care of me and now I'm ready for my forever home.

I've been out in the room with the other fosters and though I'd rather they stay away from me, I don't mind them, as long as they keep their distance. I'd be happiest as your one and only though, so if you want a nice companion, with good litter box habits and a good appetite, maybe you'll pick me? I'd sure love to have my own person for Christmas!

Purrs,
Alexis

Notes from Home
Della has settled in without any problems. We really love her and she appears to like us and her home. She basically owns the house. She sleeps between us at night. She loves to sit in front of the fireplace, likes playing and likes running up and down the stairs especially if someone is chasing her; she likes to chase her toys on a stick also. She allows visitors to pick her up. She absolutely loves to be petted. I have uploaded a few pictures.

Dear Foster Mom Jeanne,
I am sitting on Mom’s lap while I dictate this note to you. I have now been in my forever home for a little over one year.
This past summer, I spent my days on the screened in back porch. I got to watch birds, people and leaves blow on the trees. See the picture attached.
Over the summer, our niece came with her family. She had two little girls, 7 and 4 years old. These were the first little children I have seen since coming to my forever home. I walked right over to them with my tail up so that they could pet me. They were lots of fun and very nice to me but I must admit that after 3 days, I was glad the house was quiet again, just two retired folks and me.
Mom and Dad moved my Millie bed into their bedroom for the winter. I sleep in it all day; I did not sleep in it during the summer. At night I play downstairs, knock pens off the kitchen table, and sleep on my special fleece blanket between Mom & Dad. They pick me up and pet me often, and I like to climb into a lap during the day for one of my naps. During these winter days, I love to sit in the sun on Mom & Dad’s bed.
I am really glad to be here, and Mom and Dad are glad too. Thank you for all that you did for me, Foster Mom Jeanne.
Love Della.

Just a quick update. We moved from Northern VA to Western PA in May of 2016. I really like my new house. It has big windows and we have a bird feeder that has lots of visitors for me to watch. We also have window sills that I can sit on and watch the birds and rabbits. It is cooler here, so we open the windows for fresh air. I love the smells. I am in good health, we went to visit a new vet shortly after moving. I love my forever home with Mom and Dad.

I have a new address, phone number and email address. How do we change that information with you? New email is " teresaw1902@gmail.com "

Deisel has been doing great! He really fits well with our family. He loves attention and he gets lots of it! Our home has plenty of windows that he lays in and he also thinks he owns my bed at night. He sleeps right in the middle all stretched out! It didn't take him long to settle in. We just love this guy.

2 year update 7/16/2016 :
Diesel is doing great. He has become our sons buddy. He still plops down in the middle of the bed or couch as if to say "I'm the owner of this spot" and lays around the window sills watching birds and squirrels run around outside. He has found a way to sneak out the door several times, usually when someone who isn't familiar with his antics dosen't pull the door shut behind them. He never gets far before he realizes he dosen't know where to go or what to do out there. We couldn't ask for a more loveable fur ball. We are currently in the process of relocating to Wilmington NC and making arrangements with the Vet to get his records updated and some useful tips on making the 12 hour drive with him. More updates to come...

GRACIE ANN
I have found my forever home. I have grown into a beautiful healthy kitten.

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
July 24 Gracie Anne will be 4 months old this week and Georgie was 2 yrs old on June 20. Both of my Meezers are from Foster Jane in FL and after being together only only a week, these two cats became friends and playmates. They are both Snowshoes and are beautiful with great personalities. Wecome home, Gracie!
Even my 11 yr old calico has decided that Gracie can keep Georgie busy and then Macchi can have some rest.

September 15, 2013
Gracie Anne has been home for almost 2 months now. She has gone from 3lb 13oz when she arrived to
5lb 4oz today. She is still slim but has grown filled out and is as cute as can be. She is quite an athlete and loves to jump and do flips trying to capture the tiny mouse on her favorite Cat Catch wand toy. Barb loves how she is so interactive and a little love bug who likes to get under the covers and snuggle. She and Georgie are good friends and sometimes bug Macchi who would rather be left alone.

July 16, 2014
It's already one year since I brought Gracie home. Today she weights 7 lb 14oz and is a lively, playful and affectionate little girl. She and Georgie are bonded and have fun playing together and sometimes sleeping together but don't seem to prefer that. I've enjoyed how interactive and alert she is as she doesn't miss a trick and is quite a jumper and even turns flips with wand feather toys. My older calico, Maccheroni (13), is sometimes the target of their stalking and she doesn't appreciate that kind of attention.

August 15, 2014
I friend was visiting yesterday and got a really nice picture of Gracie. Want to add it as an update.

July 16, 2016
Thank you, Kathy, for the notice about Gracie Anne's third anniversary with me. She is happy and healthy (had her vet visit last month) and is such a very smart and special kitty. She is playful like her mom was and has a loonng attention span for whatever she is interested in. She can entertain herself but also comes to me and demands that I play with her especially in the evenings. I am usually happy to oblige but even if I'm tired, I give in as she's so cute and I love that she wants to play. Georgie Boy is still her best friend although they have had some fights but end up back as BFFs. All three kitties are still thriving on a balanced homemade diet and have very healthy coats and are the right weight. Gracie is a JOY!
