AMINAH
"A-MEEEE-nah."

Isn't that a LOVELY name for a LOVELY lady like me?

Of course, now that she knows me better, Meowm calls me "Bunny,", because I'm "such a lap bunny, " she says.

I am just SO thrilled to be living in the Simsbury Siamese Spa instead of that.... prison? It was loud and scary, and I was there for a whole MONTH (!) before the nice ladies with the big smiles whisked me away to safety.

Why, you might ask, should you invite the lovely Aminah to share your home? Wouldn't you love a lap-snuggling, head-butting, cuddle monster? My very first night with Meowm I spent snuggled on her chest keeping her warm and cozy. Why hide when there is a warm Bean to snurffle? (Yes, that's a word- snurffle.) I'm not a mouthy one; I keep my voice low and gentle like a civilized lady should. It may be a tiny voice, but it's unmistakeably MEEZER! I'm not shy with Beans at all. I have not met a lap I didn't want to hop right up into and snuggle in. You can hold me close to you like a doll if you'd like to. My, um, personal habits, shall we say, are immaculate. I'm a little tiny thing, light as a feather, so I won't give you indigestion if I hop into your lap after dinner. My coat is shiny, soft, and smooth as silk. Yummy! How can you possibly resist me?

It does appear that I have a little ear issue that might make me more prone to ear infections. Well, no one's perfect, and just maybe YOU might be the person who doesn't mind looking after me a little more carefully if you'd like the extra extra sweet cuddliness I have to offer.

Kisses, and waiting to hear from you-

Your Darling Aminah

Notes from Home
Nine years on, Aminah is just as sweet as the day I brought her home. She has some arthritis now, and her kidney problems are starting to become more serious. She has a small tumor in her ear that she had surgery for. So far, it's growing so slowly that it isn't much of a problem.

Even with all of her troubles, Aminah still comes to sit next to me whenever I watch TV, so I know she's still enjoying life (even if much of it is spent sleeping on the sofa.

When I go away, my Mom takes care of her. She has become Aminah's biggest fan, next to myself of course.

I'm very happy to have adopted her. She makes every day a little better.

NIKKO
My daddy had to go into a nursing home and I couldn't go with him so I am looking for a new family. Do you think I can become part of your family?

Notes from Home
Nikko is settling in great! He was getting to know us within hours of getting home. He chirps a bunch whenever we get home and has adorable conversations with us. He has turned out to be quite the bed buddy and even tolerates being picked up. He loves his scratchers and figuring out new toys like his slow feeder. He is an absolutely adorable gentleman.

We moved closer into the city and Nikko is loving his new home! He runs up to us whenever we get home and chats with us until we pick him up or sit down for snuggles. He is a very snuggly kitty and loves to use pillows like a person!

LUCY
I am little overwhelmed right now. I lost my home because of a domestic violence situation. But I know my Mommy loved because she got me to safety before she got out. I want a nice safe home and someone to love me. (Partial scholarship from someone outside the transport area to help her get a home soon!)

Notes from Home
Lucy is the sweetest cat. It is amazing that after 2 years with us, we still see changes in her. She recently discovered her tail. What a hoot watching her try to catch it. Also before, if we walked by where she was sitting she would run away. Now she just sits and watches. We had a health issue with her back in April. Took her to the vets and she had a bladder infection. Meds took care of it quickly, but it really freaked us out. While we were at the Drs the vet told us she was getting too heavy and could become diabetic. We had been feeding her dried food as we had been told when we got her she would not eat wet. Food. Vet strongly suggested switching her to wet food. She loves it and it has taken a pound or two off of her. It has made her coat shine and feel so much silkier. She still runs and hides if strangers come over, but after a bit she comes out to investigate. I have one friend that she loves to have visit. She is so much better socially. She is doing great and we love her dearly.

DUFFY
Duffy was found on the streets as a stray cat wearing a collar. He came to Siamese Rescue looking like he just came off the streets. He has an upper respiratory infection, poor coat condition, needs to gain weight, and just isn't feeling all that great. His worries are over because he is now getting the royal treatment, including a warm bed, lots of love, and treatment for his ailments. Despite his time on the streets, this boy is as sweet and affectionate as they come. He is the ultimate lap cat! All he needs now is a forever lap to nap on. Click to ask about this sweet boy.

New pics and video coming soon.

Kathy / Michelle,

Thank you for checking on Duffy. He is doing well 1 month in. He has a pretty blue collar with a bell now. He is such a speed demon, it helps us know where our white shadow is. Duffy has lots of nicknames - Duffaroo because he's a hopper, Duffster, The Duff, Doorway Duffy since he likes being in the action if we're between rooms. He's eating well and likes cheese. Will keep you posted. Karen & Norm

ALEXIS
Oh, here I am available for youuuu! I'm a sweet, petite tortie girl, and I have some torti-tude, so we think it would be best if I could be your only female. I'm still learning about this good life. One thing I do know is that when I decide I want to snuggle, I love it! There were people visiting foster mom this weekend, and I'm shy at first but then I show up for some loving. Oh, and I love to sleep on the bed with you (and other kitties and even the dog).

7/25/16-Alexis has adjusted wonderfully to our family. She loves to play with her toys, but also enjoys a good lap to lay in. She had a vet check-up on 7/22/16 and got a report of being a healthy girl. She loves both wet food and dry food and is not finicky at all. Overall, she is a dream addition to our family.

BETSY
Sweet and lovable, that's me. I have the prettiest blue eyes and the softest fluffy coat. I might have beautiful long hair when I grow up. Ill be ready to go home in about a month. More information soon.

Notes from Home
Betsy is doing great, in fact she has claimed alpha cat status over the other 2 cats which includes a 20 Lb plus male cat. She is a joy and wakes me up each morning with her purring. If that doesn't wake me, then a soft tap on the nose does. I saw a article recently that says if you own a cat then the first thing you see each morning is a cat who loves you. She waits by the door looking out the window watching for me to come home. Sometimes she jumps down quickly pretending that she wasn't watching for me but I know she was. She weighs about 8.5 pounds and loves Fancy Feast broths.

MANNY
Oh My GOSH. Really? Beautiful, sophisticated, needy, loving, adoring wedgie boy. And here I am returned to the Rescue. Someone's in for a real treat!!!

People are my favorite. I need a no smoking low stress home as I have a tendency towards asthma. Other than that, I'm good. Full work up done in advance of my going home so you'll know everything about me! Beautiful soft coat, very Siamese, very loving and affectionate, immediately well adjusted. And one crumpled ear (not seen in this picture) which gives me character. And I REALLY want some cat buddies. I LOVE other cats.

So, in summary: follow you everywhere, talk, love, and be very Siamese. That's ME! But yes, I am on the delicate side, so I need lots of personal catering and adoration!

Notes from Home
July 2016. Manny is riding out our heat wave sitting in front of the oscillating fan and sipping water with ice in his bowl. He loves to lick ice. He's also discovered whipped cream cheese.

He truly is the most adorable affectionate cat ever. Thanks so much for putting us together.

Brenda and Manny

Manny remains The Perfect Cat. He's so well-mannered, sweet, and loving that I'm happy to have him. He loves his head rubs and gets them at least 3 times/day. He is interested in knowing where I am, but doesn't stick like velcro now that he knows I'm not going to leave him.

During our 2-week winter freeze, Manny was happy to sit on the radiator and watch the snow pile up on the balcony. He's always on the look-out for cardinals who drop by every day.

Manny eats well, has meticulous litter box habits, and has decided he prefers ice in his water glass. He did a taste test - drinking from his solo cup w/o ice and mine w/ice and decided he prefers ice.
I think he's a little deaf, but other than that he is perfect.

Manny remains The Perfect Cat. He is adorable, curious, and loves to be by my side 24/7. He even sleeps deep under the covers with his paws wrapped around my ankles - like manacles!

He is so beautifully behaved. He seems used to going to the vet. He walks in the exam room, jumps up on the table, and awaits the doc. He sits up straight and listens so attentively that the vet starts talking to him instead of me. Even the vet remarked on his silky fur, excellent teeth, and beautiful manners.

Manny is very friendly. He greets everyone who comes to visit. We went on a weekend trip w/a friend and he was very happy and outgoing.

He's gained 2 lbs since his arrival, but that's well within his weight range. He eats on a schedule and always has a bedtime snack at 9.

The best thing is he seems happiest just being wherever I am. He is truly a lovable lap cat who does absolutely everything perfectly and never complains.

He is the perfect match for me!!!!
2/14/16
Manny is celebrating our 1st anniversary in style. He had 2 helpings of breakfast, drank his water with ice cubes (he LOVES ice cubes), and is now taking a bath sitting on the warm radiator on top of his two favorite blankets. He has a vet appointment this week.

Manny is The Perfect Cat and soooooooooooooo loving. He'll wake up from a nap and gaze up at me and he often sits next to me with his paw resting on my arm.

He follows me everywhere so it's hard to get a photo. If I get up to get the camera, he's up, too! (I don't have a camera on my phone.) I'll keep trying.
We can't thank you enough for Valentine's Day matchmaking between us.

Brenda and Manny

BERNADETTE ("BERNIE")
Hi! I'm Kathi!

My person died and the family dumped me at a shelter stating they didn't want me. Thankfully a lady meowmy works with was there and called meowmy right away. She came and got me and told me Siamese Cat rescue would take care of me and find me a forever home. So here I am.

The family who dumped me said I'm good with other cats, kids, and dogs, but meowmy will make sure of that before finding me a new home.

If you think you'd like to give a home to a slightly cross eyed gal like me, just ask about me and maybe I can be your new furkid!

Purrs,

Kathi

Bernadette (AKA Bernie) has settled in nicely. She doesn't believe any door should be closed & enjoys exploring for new nap spots in the house. Likes to nap under dining room table, so we put a bed there for her. Photo attached of Bernie relaxing at nap time on her favorite fuzzy blanket-which matches her eyes!

PETEY
Shot at with bb's, achy an creaky, arthritic and puny, but oh so loving. I will be on cosequin and some pain management meds for whatever time I have left, but am hoping someone will love me, because I sure will love you.

I need a large bed (I'll bring it with me), a close by large litterbox, and my food and water. I can't move around much as my joints are no good in front elbows and back hocks, but I can sure purr up a storm, I use the box, and I eat like a champ. I have good bloodwork, so just need a little sunshine. There will be no jumping for me, no stairs, but that's okay, I would be forever happy if you had a small sunny place I could just hang out in.

Notes from Home
Petey is doing great! He has a great appetite and uses his litter box. He's a bit of a slob with his food and litter, but he's so sweet it's hard to be upset with him. And that voice! He is not shy about expressing his opinion. He is not afraid of people at all. We have had several visitors and he is content to be the center of attention and get lots of ear scratches and loving.
He and my other cat, Rosanna get along fine. Mostly they just ignore each other :-)
We had a visit with the vet on Monday and she fell in love with him, too.

Well Petey had a rough week, but he seems to be on the mend now. We still don't know what was wrong with him, bur he is eating again and has he voice back. I've been trying to give him fluids, which he hates, so one of us is mad and the other one is all scratched up. Oh well, I'm just trying to do what is best for the old man. :-)

Petey has gained back all of his lost weight and is doing great. He meows extremely loudly when he wants food or attention or just to remind me he is in the house.
He didn't get on the bed at all when he first arrived, he acted like he was scared to be there if I put him up there. Maybe his previous human didn't allow him on the furniture, but I keep encouraging him to sleep with me. He still isn't comfortable enough to stay more than a few minutes but I'm working on him. 11/4/15

Petey is so sweet! I just love him! He seems to be very happy here, loves to snuggle on the couch with me. He has a big appetite, eating several cans of cat food every day. He cracks me up when he gets a drink of water, he puts his paws on the edge of the fountain.
When he first came home, he would not get on the bed and acted fearful when I would put him up there. I think he was not allowed on the bed in his previous home. Anyway, I kept putting him up there and loving on him so he would know it was OK. Now he gets up there on his own and cuddles up next to me, it makes me happy to see him warm and comfortable. He and my other cat are not best buddies, but they do live peacefully together. 1/23/16
d Petey and I have had a wonderful first year. He is so unbelievable sweet! His heath is not the best, several illnesses at the same time, but the vet and I are taking good care of him. He is very vocal and isn't shy about telling me when he wants food or attention. He and my other cat have finally decided to be friends and I find them sleeping together on my quite often. 7/20/16

July 20, 2016

Hi to all the wonderful people at Siamese Cat Rescue.

Just wanted to finally give you a quick update on Oliver.
Wow, I cannot believe its been a year since we got Ollie. Ollie is doing fantastic. Here is a pic with him and his buddy Oscar. They are waiting for dad to give them treats. How can you say no to that?

Ollie LOVES LOVES LOVES his toys, especially his stuffed ball and mice toys. He spends endless hours batting them down the stairs, then picking them up and doing it all over again. He loves to play fetch when I'm on my computer.

Ollie is such a GREAT cat. He is so easy going. He is best buds with Minnie and they spend the EARLY morning hours chasing each other around our bedroom and office. When he's done he loves to come up on the bed and face butt me and Barry. We call it being Ollied, and then he curls up with us for a nice nap.

Ollie has been kind of hit or miss in my studio, though he does love playing with my wire. He occasionally helps me make fairy wings. I'm hoping to make a pair for him because he is such an angel.

Been crazy busy but hope to get back to crafting for Siamese Rescue. You guys do such great work.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Best regards, Diane

Hi to all the wonderful folks at Siamese Cat Rescue. I just want to drop a quick note to let you all know how Oliver (Jack R.) is doing. To sum it up - great. I don't think we've ever had such a friendly cat. He had a long journey home and was really wiped out as a result. We isolated him in my dining room that has a glass door so he could see out. This is located next to our office and master bedroom suite. He first decided to camp out on top of my china cabinet so we decided to just let him relax and settle in. It took a couple of days but he then started to show some of his great friendly personality. He met the other feline friends through the glass door at first because we have a problem child (Minnie - a three year old tabby who was abused) and were not sure how she would react. We introduced Oliver to our old guy Oscar first because he is mellow and the same temperament as Oliver. The first introduction was Oliver head butting Oscar and following him all around the room. I don't think Oscar quite knew what to make of Oliver, no cat has ever done that to him. So no growling, hissing, or anything, everything went great so we kept them together for several hours. At the end of the week we let Oliver explore some of the house, he followed me around the first floor and pretty much checked out every nook and cranny. With him being more relaxed we finally introduced him to Minnie. My husband and I held our breaths and crossed our fingers, much to our amazement, not a single growl, hiss or more importantly attack. With that introduction there was no need for Oliver to be isolated in the dining room anymore and he is now king of the bed. He loves to run around at top speed chasing and tumbling with Minnie. They are all pretty relaxed and all sleep on the bed together, Oliver even cuddles up to me and my husband and sleeps with us. He is such a great cat and I love him to pieces. Ollie's next adventure, and my fingers crossed, is to my studio to see if he will become my new studio cat. I hope to bring him down with me over the weekend.

Best regards, Diane
