Simba is doing great! He's settling in so well. I had a couple of dear friends come over for dinner to meet him (Sue & Jeff) and he inserted himself between them on the couch and let them give him belly rubs! He was such a sweetie and had no anxiety at all. Obviously he's had good interactions with people and has learned to trust. He's so loving and is eating and playing with his catnip toys. Such a joy to have! I'll try to upload some pictures later this week.

Thanks to all who helped get Simba to me. He's a wonderful kitty, I love him to pieces!

Simba has been settling in nicely. He is a wonderful cat, so loving, so easy-going, so gentle. He's doing great, loving his Millie beds and his new companion, Bizzy, who joined our household on March 30th. They are best buds. We're working on the weight loss program! Having an energetic housemate helps! I feel so lucky to have found a beautiful kitty in Simba. Just love him and am enjoying him so much.

It's been a month since Simba joined my family and it's like he's been here forever! He continues to be a lovey boy, very social, enjoying life. He's lost a little bit of weight and we continue to work on that! His coat has gotten really shiny and softer. He doesn't like to have his toe nails cut, however.....but he's good about using his scratching post and pad. Just a joy. Love him more each day!

5/5/14--Simba has been on a diet and he's lost a couple of pounds. His coat is absolutely gorgeous, so shiny and no more dandruff. Will send pics as soon as I can download them. He is such a loving boy and we're one big happy family!

3/31/15 Celebrating one year anniversary! Simba is wonderful! We had a scare a few months ago where Simba was coughing. Took him to the Tufts Animal Hopsital and they did a complete workup. He was on antibiotics and prednisone. I also switched his dry food (he was having both wet and dry food) and with the treatment and new food routine, he's completely recovered! He's been back to the vet for follow up and all is well. He's the best cat and I absolutely love him. So happy to have found him!

3/25/16: Simba, Izzy and I just celebrated the 2nd anniversary of "got you" day! We are just livin the dream with this guy. Simba is the best cat and continues to enjoy his forever home with us. Just love, love, love him and am so grateful to have the pleasure of his kitty company in our home. I'm happy to report that SImba has been in great health --no issues. He HATES having his claws trimmed, so we visit the local groomer who has a special touch. He continues to be a cat nip junkie so I regularly indulge him and keep the vacuum cleaner handy since the toys are ripped to shreds in minutes. Looking forward to many more happy years together!!

3/25/17: Year number 3 of total joy with Simba! On a scale of 1-10 he's an 11! He's healthy and a total love bug. Absolutely the sweetest guy ever. I feel so lucky to have him.

Gorgeous, fluffy seal point girl. She's a little shy at first, but warms up very quickly. She's extremely playful, but has started showing a snuggly side full of purrs. Would pair well with her brother, Henry.

Check out my new video and new pics!

More pics coming soon - Miss Belle is a big ol' ham and makes a wonderful model!

“ Spring has Sprung! The Grass is riz… I wonder where the birdies is?”
Here it is Spring and it was the end of winter when Psipsina (aka Belle) arrived to us. It has been a journey! And it’s about time for an update J
For this cat-mom who never had cats before I wasn’t quite prepared for the complexity of kitten behavior that can occur. I’d pictured idyllic scenes of Psipsina and Saponetta (aka Anderson) playing together and cuddling down for naps together <3…. Little was I prepared for the hissing, barking, slinking, roughhousing, not-eating, and not using the litter box milieu that was the result of introducing a new kitten into the scene.
We are now at a pretty decent point with both kittens being mostly ok with one another and occasionally even being super affectionate with each other. Both are using their litter boxes correctly again J I still have to really coax Saponetta to eat and come out of the corners and be his personable little self that I know is hiding inside of him and both kittens are still a bit skittish and nervy. When they are with us individually they are both full of purring, play and affection, but when the other cat is around they are guarded and wary even when we’re with them.
I’ve grown to love them both and their crazy little personalities. I’m convinced they’ll just keep adapting to each other and as long as I have patience and continue to shower them with affection I’m hoping they’ll being to feel safe and comfortable even with the other one around.
I didn’t know Psipsina personally before she arrived so I don’t know if she’s exhibiting any personality changes, but she is a little fireball :D Anything with feathers or strings just makes her day, and if she’s picked up and pet she literally melts into a purring puddle of fur and licks <3
Saponett has had a bit of a personality change since Psipsina came around – he’s become more subdued, let spontaneous in his purring and more stand-offish with Zeno and I. His carefree side is beginning to surface more and more in spurts and flickers. I make a point to really draw him in in every way I know and, with the few nice warm Spring days we’ve had, I can see that the good weather with more opportunity to hang out in the 3-season room bird and squirrel watching is going to be a tremendous solace to him.
So the saga is still unfolding, but it’s unfolding in the right direction for sure. Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement as we get to enjoy these little kittens and seek to help them enjoy their furry little lives as much as possible too.
A picture is work a thousand words – so I thought I’d send a picture or two to sum up Psipis and Saponett’s personalities ;)

3/23/14 Our sweet lovable Tucker finally arrived today! He is everything and more that foster mom Kathy said. Kathy you are awesome at what you do! You can tell how much love, care and confidence you gave our Tucker as he entered your home. He sends you hugs and kisses. Not a peep out of him on the way home. He purrs very loud but, we haven't heard a meow yet. He loves belly rubs and to be held like a baby. He ate and litter boxed within 2 hrs of being in his new home. Sooooooooo sweet :)

4/1/14. Tucker is out!! Couldn't wait to have him join our family! He is the sweetest little boy I have ever met. He is sooooo laid back, comfortable, easy to please. He is eating the same food, litter boxing well, using scratch post. The only thing he doesn't do well is let his new parents sleep!! He stands on top of us, wants to play and kisses.at 230, 330, and 430 am!! More later :)

4/6/14. Love Bug, that's my middle name! Tucker is doing great. It is as though he has always been here. He is so quite and has a tiny little meow. He is such a good brother letting Izze think she is the queen :) He is the most laid back, sweet cat I have met. Nights are getting a little better only waking my mom & dad up once a night. We are trying to teach him the alarm goes off at 450am! He loves to play chase with Izze. He has his first vet check up Monday.

4/17/14 We refer to sweet Tucker as our new infant! He has his days and night mixed up :) He loves to sleep. Sometimes we have a hard time finding his secret napping places. He decides his attack whether at 2 or 4am!! He kicks the covers, meows, kisses, purrs you name it. Well infants grow out of it right? He and Izze get along so great . Everything we could have ask for. I caught Tucker licking Izze's face and ears. Couldn't ask for more. Just love him!

4/30/14 We have had Tucker just over a month. He is one sweet, funny, loveable, energetic little meezer! He is a great little brother to Izze. Night time has gotten much better. He has learned to just lay quietly next to us in bed. He loves to play, play, play. He lays on his back all four paws up. Quite the funny guy. He has brought many laughs and love to our family😻

5/18/14. I am Mr love bug! I am so sweet but, boy I am full of kitten. I have never seen anything with more energy than Mr Tucker. He has gotten so big and loves to eat. He is very long and lean. He burns all his calories every hour on the hour. The two funny things he does is, he likes to stand in the litter box while you clean it and he lays on his back between my husband and I during the night. He stills has his nights of let's play sleep tomorrow! Him and his sister are BEST friends! We couldn't have picked a better playmate. We love you Tucker💙

7/21/14. Mr energy I am. I love to beat Dad up the steps. Even though he gets a head start I still make it first. Tucker is the sweetest boy. He shows a lot of affection, purrs very loudly and we have probably only heard him meow 3 times since we've had him. He's still not a big eater at this point. He loves his toys and the feather wand. Tucker can jump about 3-4 ft in the air after it. Thank you Tucker for taking care of your sister and teaching her to be a loveable kitty like yourself!

8/13/14. Our sweet little furry boy is 1 yr old today! He has brought much joy to our home. He is a stinker, gets into everything, chews on wood like a puppy, you name it. But even with all that he is so sweet and loving and as an old soul. He follows us in and out every room. Happy Birthday Tucker, enjoy your new window seat. Check out the picture of him enjoying it. XO

3/5/15. Our love bug Tucker has been such a saving grace since we lost our first adopted kitty Izze over a month ago. He has followed us around like a puppy. He has been sad with lots of meows. A new sister came quickly into our family and we are all delighted! He met her for the first time today and Lexi ( our new family member) walked right up to him like she was giving him a kiss. He sits at the door patiently waiting for the door to open. He always loves her tasty kitten food. Tucker is so amazing. He makes us laugh constantly xo love him...

3/9/15. Sweetie Tucker is putting on weight. He has falling in love with his new sisters kitten food. Since she hides so much, he is taking advantage of a "food" situation.

3/16/15. Tucker is happy to have a new friend. No more crying as is was so upset with the loss of his first sister. Playing hide and seek and running around, sounds like a bowling alley upstairs!! Sweet boy :)

Foster Notes

Bon Scott here ready for my new family. While I was named for a "hard rocker", I am just the opposite in every way. I'm easy going, very sweet, purr all the time, make lots of biscuits on my bed, cuddle and love with my foster family and like other cats, too. Think "soft rock" and that's me. When I'm "in the mood", I do rip and run like a kitten, but you can pick me up and I immediately "soften up" and turn into that "soft rocker" right there in your arms. Please ask foster mama, Katie, about me.

A stray dumped outside when they didn't want me (maybe I was in the family way); I'm now cleaned up and ready to go. A little spooked at things but quickly settling in, I talk in a squeaky little voice and make good eye contact. Check out my videos for more information!
Notes from Home
Sibby has been with us about six months now and we can't believe what an amazing and beautiful cat we've adopted! She overcame her early shyness and is a very sweet, cuddly cat that sleeps at our feet and splits her time between our laps in the evening. For the first few months, she was really anxious about food and sat by her food bowl for hours every day and cried every time we came into the kitchen, but we did a few rounds of feliway diffusers and she has completely let go of that behavior. Now, she just meows right before mealtime to let us know she is hungry, that's it. She's really playful, sweet, gentle, and snuggly. We adore her, and are so grateful that we are her companions! Thank you Siamese Cat Rescue!

Very sweet, mild mannered guy. Loves to be petted, brushed and massaged. Has always been an only cat and would prefer to stay that way. A little bit of a lap kitty but would probably prefer to lay next to you on the couch.

Dusty acts like he has always been a part of our family. He even plays with Josie (our other cat) and sleeps on my bed at night. He follows me around the house so I don't get lonely and greets everyone who comes in our house. He is loving and always comes up to be petted. He has won the hearts of my whole family!

3-22-17: Dusty is officially a lap cat--if there is a lap available, he finds it! Thanks again for helping Dusty find us. He is eating well and has no interest in going outside but likes watching the birds and chipmunks. I can't believe it's almost time for his annual vet visit.

A little overwhelmed, but I'll warm up soon, as I was already taken in by a wonderful Good Sam who took great care of me, told Aunt Siri all about me, and is anxious to see me get a good home! If you like the dark handsome seal males, then you're going to like me. Stay tuned as I settle in !
Notes from Home
Bacardi has been such an amazing addition to the household! He absolutely loves people, and loves to play. He's a totally different cat than when I met him. He has tons of energy, so we try to keep him active to use it up. He isn't afraid of many new things, he's more curious than scared. He's actually extremely smart, probably too smart for his own good. He learned I take my phone with me to work, and so early on he sat on it so I couldn't leave, or at least had to pet him some more.
My girlfriend made him a tower, and he loves to play and lounge on it. He also lays down really weird, I've never seen a cat lounge on his belly like the Sphinx. (See photo) His voice came out too, he's such a talker when I come home from work.
His vet checkups have been great, and the vet said his gums shouldn't get worse. They're about the same if not slightly better than before, but she thinks they'll be like that for a while. I tested out the stuff you add to their water to help breath and gum disease. The vet said he was perfectly healthy boy, and he's balancing at 11lbs. He still gets his lysine and fortiflora too, just to keep up with his system.
Thank you again, for anyone and everyone involved with rescuing my buddy, Bacardi!

03/22/17 Update:
Bacardi's 3 year anniversary of adoption! He's still a ball of energy and demands his playtime. The last visit to the vet was just the same, healthy handsome man. I'm taking him to a new vet soon, and it's teeth cleaning time. We are still working on his energy levels with my wife's cat, who is and older, daintier, lady. Some new pictures have been tossed in there. Thank you again everyone, for the great addition to the family!

HI! I'm Gus. I've been under the weather but Meowmy fixed me up and I'm feeling better now. She says I'm a sweet fella and handsome, too!

Want a little boy like me? I need a girl kitten to play with (or a young adult would b ok, too). So if I wouldn't be an only furkid in your home, then ask about me and maybe I can come live my life with you.

Gus is my little shadow anywhere I am when I am home he is right behind me! He is always the first one in bed and very very talkative if he's not getting the attention he wants! His big sister is a big cuddle also but there's a reason for me having 2 hands he's one jealous little fireball! He's perfectly trained never had an accident never scratched funaturs. When it comes to play time he's always involved. There's not one fluff ball toy that is safe! His favorite toy is thus pink fluff ball which apparently is always a danger. That toy is very hardy he spends hours and hours a day throwing it around and tossing it under furniture and trying his best to retrieve it then crying when he realized he's gotten a belly and can't slide under the tv stand anymore.

Notes from Home
Jewel's First Anniversary with us.

Jewel has settled in like she owns the place, and us! We are her devoted servants and she is quick to let us know in no uncertain terms via LOUD meowing if we have displeased our benevolent Queen.

She spends time sleeping in her millie bed (complete with pet heating pad) on the couch, a recliner near the sunroom window, and a two-tiered basket in the library beside the bay window.

She enjoys the extensive nature programming on the sunroom window channel (birds and deer), the french door channel (more birds and the cat next door), and the bay window channel which hosts the late night moth show.

Our resident red-shouldered hawk saw Jewel basking in the sun on the hassock in the sunroom and tried to attack her through the window. I heard a loud Bonk! one afternoon and saw the hawk sitting on the deck railing outside the window shaking his head back and forth. Jewel, oblivious to the excitement, continued to sleep in the sun.

Jewel has her established routines. She loves to have her belly rubbed and will stretch out on her back and lift her front paws in the air as if to hug us when one of us approaches her. She is quite talkative and demands attention. My husband likes to play games on the computer and Jewel will hop up and sit in front of the monitor forcing him to pay attention to her.

Jewel's Seventh Anniversary! Where has the time gone?
Jewel is an old lady now at almost 19. She has a few health issues; arthritis in her knees and she had a staph infection which caused her belly fur to fall out. That was treated successfully with antibiotics. She was also diagnosed with diabetes. I did some research and decided to switch her diet from kibble to a high quality canned cat food and the diabetes went into remission within 9 days! So, no insulin for Jewel but I have to keep an eye on her blood sugar. She is going deaf and can no longer distinguish where sounds come from although she can hear loud sounds. She divides her time between her basket in the bay window and sleeping on her fuzzy blanket on my bed. In the winter she has a heated cat bed which she loves. Lately, she has begun to roll off the bed in her sleep. Not sure how to prevent that. She can no longer jump onto the bed or into her basket so I have steps for both locations. She's not spoiled. Nah. Her litter box habits have slipped and she now likes to pee on the bathroom floor. We have reached a truce with the help of puppy pads. She continues to be a delightful companion and we have snuggle time every day. Love my kitty!

Can't believe Jewel and I have been together for 8 years! My, how time flies. Jewel, who will turn 20 in May, has begun the long slow decline in health common to cats with renal disease. She is down to 9.5 lbs in spite of my attempts to fatten her up and her hindquarters are thin. Her arthritis has progressed and she is stiff. I have her on gabapentin for that and it has helped quite a bit and she is moving around easier. She takes amlodipine for high blood pressure and also gets glucosamine treats daily. Tried the powdered cosequin on her food but it made her vomit every time so I gave up on that. She sees the vet pretty frequently these days. She has idiopathic cystitis and her urine is bloody but no bacterial infection recently. She pees on the puppy pads around the litter box which works well. I have given her a lower litter box which is easier for her to climb in and out of. She loves to pee down the vent in the bathroom so that is now covered with a puppy pad too. She sleeps a lot more now and sometimes she is hard to wake up if I need to move her. She still loves to help me make up the bed and has quite the temper if I move her.

My 21 year old niece moved in with me last May and Jewel loves Lauren to death. She follows her around the house and we have a routine in the evenings where we both lie down on my bed to pet Jewel and she is in heaven being spoiled by two servants at the same time. Now that Lauren lives with me Jewel will actually eat her food normally when I am out of town although she still misses me. Lauren often sits on my bed to do her college homework in order to keep Jewel company. Jewel lives pretty much exclusively in her heated millie bed on my bed now. She gets up to eat, drink and use the litter and to do "paw patrol" around the house in the evenings.

Jewel learned how to push the button on my alarm clock to turn on the music and summon me from another room when she wanted attention. The first time it happened I thought it was accidental but then she did it quickly two times in a row and it was clear she knew exactly what she was doing, the little stinker! So, I now have a clear plastic box covering my alarm clock and Her Majesty is NOT pleased! She spent quite a few evenings clawing at the box in fits of temper until she gave up.

I don't know how much time Jewel has left but she continues to be a delightful companion and Lauren and I spoil her rotten.
