KATO
Soulmate potential cat looking for a one on one very deep tight relationship. I'm way smarter than most blues (sorry guys and gals) and very very affectionate when I think you might be my person. I tolerate other cats but my preference really is to be the only one, hence why only cat is checked. I would like lots of together time with someone who loves to snuggle, talk, and share the world together.

Notes from Home
Greetings, friends!
Kato has settled into our home wonderfully well and we are loving every minute with him. He wants nothing more that to be either on or as near as possible to one or both of us, but he isn't over bearing about it. He has scratched only on his scratching pad which is great since we had some furniture reupholstered. He loves a bit of catnip on his cardboard scratcher now and then. I have to be careful how much because he's quite sensitive to it. He loves to play "under cover", especially when I change the sheets. At first, he trailed off on his eating and we had to experiment with some different foods till we found the right ones. Now he loves the dry Science Diet for sensitive skin and a bit of Fancy Feast morning and night. Our vet suggested the dry that he eats since he does scratch some in his temporal areas which she says is typical of cats with herpes. His eyes are doing better since we're using 500mg. of L-Lysine twice a day in treat form. He loves them and eats his food much better if we don't use the capsule on it. He simply has the most precious, loving personality and is a real purr-meister! He made his first trip to the coast and did very well down there. He was pretty noisy in the car the first half of the trip coming and going, but we think that he will become accustomed to it. We are so very happy with our choice and we think that Kato is a pretty contented guy here with us. I wish we had pictures; he looks great.

Six-month update for Kato: We love this cat and feel that he has adjusted well to our home and routines. He is still a "lap cat", especially with Vicki. He is extremely affectionate with both of us and still purrs a lot. I am somewhat concerned that he doesn,t get enough exercise because he isn't much interested in toys, but he does run up and down the stairs almost daily at some times. He has had a few health problems which have resolved, and all is well now. About August first Kato had a small, but enlarging, malignant mast cell tumor removed from his left upper chest. Not long after this he developed a "hot spot" (area of moist dermatitis) on the back of his neck. The surgery healed very well, but the hot spot was really a challenge. He still has some right eye drainage and continues to be on the L-Lysine. Kato is very talkative and intelligent, and often does silly things, which we love. He is, however, very shy with most strangers and with our grandchildren, unfortunately. He is primarily attached to us and does really like our neighbor who cares for him if we must be away, which isn't often at all. He's not especially fond of car riding to the coast but does very well while we're there. If you have any suggestions for easing the car rides, we would welcome them. His appetitie is great and he has no litterbox or furniture scratching problems. We are thoroughly enjoying him!

Greetings from Kato and his adoring mom and dad!
Kato has been a dear, wonderful addition to our home, and we can hardly imagine that he's been here for 2 years now. He is in good health and just had his annu8al check-up and vaccines. He is such an affectionate guy who loves trailing after us and getting in the middle of whatever we're doing, usually accompanied by lots of "chatting". He enjoys sitting atop his cat tree in front of a long bedroom window, but his favorite place is between our lower legs when we stretch out to read. He regularly patrols for visiting felines and is getting a little less dramatic when he spots one on our deck or porch. He still loves going downstairs to the "talking scale" with Tim morning and night, and usually joins me on my lap when we watch TV. He zips under the bed when strangers come, but can usually be persuaded to come out unless the visitor is some sort of service man. He loves our neighbor who looks after him on the rare occasions that we leave him over night. He's doing much better in the car on our way to the beach and back and seems to like being there. We feel very blessed to have been able to adopt such a sweet, funny and loving creature. He still has a drippy eye from the herpes, and we still give him his L-Lysine every day. Best wishes to all of you at the Rescue Center!

Three-year update: Kato continues to be our sweet, loving, funny pet. To our distress, we learned on March 28 that he has lymphoma. Before I continue, We want you to know that he is doing very well so far. We took him to have his claws trimmed and his weight check revealed a 2-pound weight loss. He was due for his annual check-up in 2 weeks, so our vet went ahead with it that day. She called the next day to tell us that he had an abnormal liver function test and elevated lymphocytes. She checked a blood slide the next morning and saw some blast cells. On Monday we took him to an internal medicine specialist who again took blood and also did a liver biopsy. the liver biopsy was diagnostic for the lymphoma. After much discussion, we opted to put him on Prednisolone every evening (not metabolized in the liver like Prednisone is). Soon thereafter, his Herpes flared into an upper respiratory condition and I began giving him his L-Lysine by crushing a half-tab morning and night, mixing it with a little water, and squirting it into his mouth with a little syringe. He cleared up quite quickly. We are feeding him high-quality cat food and he is eating very well. In fact, the steroid makes him very hungry, and not over-feeding is a challenge. We are going to continue to take the best care of him that we can and love him every day that he is with us. He has brought us a lot of joy, and I think that we have done the same for him. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Vicki and Tim Sellner

June 28, 2014
We are 3 months from Kato's diagnosis of lymphoma, and we're so happy to let you know that he continues to do well. He's eating well and, though maybe sleeping a bit more, he's following his usual pattern of activities. Tim is convinced that God and good care can cure him. We really love him and are praying that he will be with us for a long time. We'll keep you updated.

Greetings from Kato and his favorite humans, Tim and Vicki,
We are very, very happy to tell you that has now been in remission from his lymphoma since,
March
, 2014. His April physical showed greatly improved lab results (liver enzymes down from 400+ to normal). He is super affectionate, mostly always beginning our time together with pats and kisses before snuggling down between our lower legs, much preferring this to lap sitting. He also loves to wash us, which can get a bit uncomfortable. He loves our screened porch in the early morning and evening. We call it "outside".He's eating Science Diet prescription dry Geriatric Diet food and drinks lots of water from his ceramic fountain and the shower floor when he can. I will g-mail a picture or 2 from my iPhone. We hope he's with us for a long time to come.

August22,2016: It is with great sadness that we tell you that our dear Kato succumbed to his lymphoma on Tuesday, August 16. We are very thankful that he was only really ill for 2 days before we had to have him euthanized. He was a dear and wonderfully affectionate cat whom we loved so very much for the 5 years he spent with us. He fit beautifully into our home and hearts, and we will always be grateful for his presence in our lives. Tim and Vicki Sellner.

CHANDLER
CHOCOLATE, ANYONE???

Well, my best friend in the world just left for her forever home. She's getting a swell home but I'm lonely! Won't you come and rescue me?

Foster Mom kept saying I was so shy. Fooled her! Chrissy's adopters were over and I was the life of the party! Chased a mylar ball over the room, let them pet me, purred, and everything. Foster Mom says I just keep surprising her. I sleep in the bed with her and Foster Pa and two other kitties and a little dawgy now. I just blended in with the household practically as soon as I got out of that isolation room. Even the grumpy old man cat thinks I'm okay.

I'm feeling about 1000% better now (had a tough time with that shelter cold) and I'm ready to get my forever home, too. So, why don't you click on that "Ask about me" button and Foster Mom will tell you what a great cat I am.

CHOCOLATE I AM, AND ... WHO CAN RESIST CHOCOLATE?

Love,

Chandler

PS I look old in my pictures but I'm just a young thing. When I got sick my fur turned gray but it won't be long and I'll be totally beautiful again! I'm so sweet my Foster Mom can just hardly stand it!

I am so sorry to give you this news. Chandler passed away on March 4th.
There is always one that touches your heart from the very beginning. He was my special love; I still cry myself to sleep missing him.

Thank you so much for bringing him into our lives. Please know the work all of you do is truly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Chris Devens

SANSA
Hi there! My name is Heike, and I'm named for the nice lady at animal control who made sure Siamese Rescue would come to get me! I come from a house with wayyyyy too many kitties, and I have to tell you, I am LOVING a big room to myself!! Nobody shoving me out of the way for my food, no long lines at the litter box, nobody taking the best bed for themselves, and no flea-bitten roommates sharing their cooties. ick! This is Heaven I tell ya! I am just a little nervous, so an adopter with lots of patience and love to share will make me so happy. I'm not sure how I feel about being 'one of many' again, now that I know how nice it is to be the center of attention. But I'll consider it.... for you.

Notes from Home
Sansa has adjusted quite well to her forever home. She is also enjoying her new roomie, Quincy! I am very happy with how the two of them are getting along. It seems like they are enjoying each others company and are having fun running throughout the house playing chase. She is sleeping well, eating VERY well, drinking plenty of water and using her litter box like a natural. We took her to the vet a week after she arrived and the doctor saw that she had fleas. Ugh! So now both Sansa and Quincy are being treated once a month with Revolution. After her stool sample culture came back we were disappointed again because the culture showed a parasite. So now I have to give her medicine orally for 10 days. Ugh! The doctor also noticed two pink spots on her left ear, took a fur sample, did a culture on it and Ugh! it came back positive for ringworm. So now I'm treating her for that as well. Poor little kitty! But even with all of her ailments, she is still a very happy little girl.

9/22/15-We've had Sansa now for a month! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I am bringing in a fecal sample today to her vet to make sure the bacteria in her belly has been cleared up by her medicine. The pink marks on her ears have gone away and fresh new fur has taken it's place. I have not seen any fleas or flea dust since we brought her to the vet back in August. We've given her one treatment of Revolution back in early September, so a second dose will be given on October 1st.
Overall she is doing wonderfully, even though she had all of these ailments. She's a trooper and loves playing with Quincy. She has been great exercise for him and he is so cute with her. They chase each other up and down and all around the house. They now both sleep with us at night and during the day they'll typically sleep on the couch but typically stay about 6 inches away from each other. I do predict the winter will bring them closer :) She has been a wonderful addition to our house and as a buddy to Quincy!

2/23/2016
I can't believe 6 months have gone by since Sansa first came into our home! She is a doll!! The sweetest little kitty ever and she has transformed our first cat Quincy into becoming a much more affectionate cat! She has a great appetite and loves to talk and tweet all of the time. She sleeps in a little cozy bed right next to us for most of the night and then every morning she walks onto our bed and slips under the covers to cuddle. She is so cute! She has never gotten tired of her fleece tie toys. She has about 4 of them in the house that she plays with everyday and whenever we come home she has gathered them all up and put them on our bed. Usually she puts two on my side and two on my husbands. She's hilarious! She loves sitting on our laps while we're at the computer, on the couch or going to the bathroom! hahaha she cracks me up! She gained a little bit of weight from 6.6 to about 7.4lbs. It's a perfect weight for her. She's slim and trim and very active.

8-22-16
It's been a fantastic year with Sansa! Her humans love her and her kitty buddy Quincy LOVES her company, playfulness and activity. She loves being around us as much as possible and if she's not near us we can hear her chirping away looking for us! We think she got that from her pal Quincy. Neither of them like to be alone for very long which is why I think having her was a great addition for Quincy! The two of them are like two peas in a pod. They love playing, running around and even playing tag! They're a hoot! She's such a sweet little girl and the minute we walk into a room with her in it, she starts her purr motor on high! She loves her forever home :)

HIMMIE
Hi there! I'm Himmie, and I'm not exactly sure what is happening in my life. I know that my mama is no longer here, and I spent some time in my home alone with just my auntie coming to feed me, and now I'm with a strange lady in a strange place.

It isn't too bad here, though I don't know what's up with this cage, but the bed is super comfortable and there is always food and lots of petting when I want it. I've lived with dogs before, but I'm not too sure about all these other cats yet. Meowmy said I also need to see the doctor and have some blood work so she can see what my state of health is. She said I look wonderful, but this is just to double check.

What I'd really like is to have a real home of my own again with someone to love me like my mama did before she died.

Maybe that is you?

Himmie

Notes from Home
I have had Himmie 1 month today and he is a wonderful loving cat. He has settled into his new home without any problems. He meets me at the door when I come home and rubs on me until I pick him up. He has been to the vet and had his teeth cleaned. One tooth was extracted because of a cavity and it did not slow it down on his eating. The staff at the vet's office fell in love with him . I make a point of playing with him every day for 15 minutes or so. For an old guy he certainly can tear through the house when he gets on a running jag. He is a real sweetheart!

LILLY
Wow....what changes I've had to go through! I had a home, one home, for all of my 2 years, I was Queen of my castle. Then one day, my owner put me in the dreaded cat carrier, took me to the vet, said something about "foreclosure" and left me there! I didn't get a chance to say goodbye!
But now everyone is telling me that the worst is over, and that my new forever family is waiting for me right now...is that true?
I sure do hope so, because I really want a loving family of my own again....forever this time. I am an elegant, neat, dainty, and right now, a little bit scared Diva who is as classic as they come. You can just picture me with the ancient Egyptians, ruling over the land with them. You won't find a more classic Siamese than me...and I've young too! Heck, I'm really just a kitten still, with my creamy pale coat, sleek lines and dark points. Not to mention my big, blue blue eyes!
I'm sweet and loyal, and waiting for you! So ask about me....you know you want to!

Notes from Home
Well finally I found this place! I think Tori is smater than me. Well it has been about 2 and a half weeks we have been together and an interesting time it has been. Tori is the most demanding Siamese I have ever come across. She is a little miss that knows her mind. Right now she has bulled her way onto my lap and is watching me type.

We have bonded very well, but the dog is another story. They are both trying to be "top dog". I am very suprised the Shadow (the dog) does not back down and neither does she. He wants to play and SHE wants nothing to do with playing with him. She loves to play and chases her mouse and string shaker or whatever it is called, day and night. I do hope that sometime they will at least tolerate each other. Every other cat and dog we have had together the "cat" has always been the boss. So it will be a match of wills that is going to go on, any guesses who will win?

She has not had her vet appointment yet as everything and everybody lost their power due to "tropical storm Irene" We will be going next Wednesday. I found that she loves to play and shred plastic bags so I am working on changing the things we store stuff in, I am voting for RUBBER boxes. Well just a little adjustment, at least she doesn't eat sweaters or blankets or anything made from wool or acrilyc, like my last meezer, but they will have to go into packing crates, Ha Ha!

Well pictures will be coming soon as my ipod touch does not have a very good camera, need the real deal that needs to be charged. Well all from here. Thank you all who helped make this match possible everyone was great and so responsive and caring. Meow from Claudette and Tori

It's benn a long time 4 years. Tori is now Lily and she is a terrorist. She is by far the funniest, talkative and brashest Siamese we have ever had. She developed kidney disease several years ago but with her special foods and frequent checkups she does pretty well. We've had several crisis but with home fluids, antibiotics and appetite stimulants we have brought her through. She is lots of fun and is a real joy to have. She is a little Daddy's girl that's the first time in his life that a cat takes to him. He's the dog person. As for the dog they ignore each other though sometimes she will go and rub up against him and he's dumbfounded. All in all we are doing great! So long from here. Lily says night too 😻🙋

Lily is still doing ok and is being a brat, but she is loved to death. She had a sad time this year as her Paw passed away last month. She has a new friend though, Paws daughter Connie is staying for awhile and grandson Liam is here which she loves. Lily still has kidney disease but only had one bout this past year so hopefully she stats healthy. She still has her Shadow which she loves very much but can terrorize every once in a while. Out house is more quiet now, but she makes us all happy. Lily is right here now laying next to me wondering what I am doing. She wishes everyone happy summer and a fun fall. Love from Lily and Mom 😻🙋

HEAVY T
Hi everyone,

I started out life with an owner, but then for some reason he moved and left me to fend for myself. Thank goodness there were a pair of rescue angles who came to my aide, fed me, and called Siamese Rescue. They said they would have kept me, but their existing cat kept beating me up and they wanted the best for me, so here I am.

Next stop, forever home. Maybe yours?

THE DOCTOR
I like to wrestle with Merlot my foster buddy. She thinks that just cause she's a girl I'll cut her some slack. Not happening! So if you got a buddy I could wrestle with or if you are looking for a pair, then ask about me and even Merlot. Cause she's alright for a girl.

Urchin, now known as "The Doctor," has fit in very well at home. He and the resident cat are buddies and spend way too much time people-watching out the windows. :)

Update: August 2016:
My vet says that the Doctor is the ideal cat. He is a good weight (11 lbs) and is very gentle for exams and nail trimmings. He LOVES watching birds at the window feeder and playing with fresh catnip from the garden.

We have changed Lody's name to Peanut, which she responds to very well. Peanut has gained alot of confidence and seems comfortable in our home now. She is getting along with both of our other cats, and is very playful. She is really starting to relax and is realizing that this is her forever home.

December 2013: Peanut is totally comfortable in our home now - very sweet and energetic, loves to cuddle and be loved on, but also is ready to play at any time. She gets along great with our 2 male cats, and is just a cool kitty.

August 2014: Peanut has been a part of our family for 1 year now! She is doing fantastic - she is comfortable and confident, playful, loving, and has the cutest meow!

August 2015: Two years! Peanut is just a joy, and so loving! Enjoys naps in the sunshine, watching birds out the windows, sitting and sleeping in our laps, and just being with us and our two other cats. Very successful adoption!

August 2016: Three years and Peanut is doing wonderful. She is totally confident in her forever home, gets along well with our two male cats, loves to nap in the sunshine, play, and snuggle with her humans. Very loving and fun kitty!
