All I want is to love and be loved.

I've had quite a tough time for the last several months. I was SO sick, but my first rescuer would not let me give up. I finally recovered enough to come to foster mom's house and now I'm ready to look for my furrever home. I'm totally into my person and not playing much YET. Still in isolation so not sure about other kitties, but I think I will be fine with a nice laid back male kitty as long as I get the love and attention I crave.

06/14/16

I've been out and about with all the resident kitties and dogs and I'm doing great! I'm a perfect little lady in all my habits and friendly, but not too forward with all. I think I would like a little quieter home and I also want to stay withing 3 - 4 hours of my current location. I really don't like traveling a whole lot. I like to play a bit, I like to have little conversations and I'll let you know when I need some loving and pets. I'm starting to climb into bed with Meowmy an snuggle up for part of the night. :) She LOVES that!

Due to the severity of my upper respiratory infection and all the meds I was given I have quite a snorkly snuffly condition. My wonderful vet has prescribed a medicine that should take care of it, but I may always have the snuffles. I have to take the medicine for a month so I can't go home until the end of July.

You can still ask about me and get on my list if you are willing to wait for me to come home.

Purrs and headbutts,

Dixie

I can't believe it has been a month! Dixie feels like she has been with us forever, she has fit right in to our house and our family!

She is doing great, she has the run of the house (it is all hers....) and has become another member of the family. She follows us around the house wherever we go.

She does continue to snarffle, she is on steroids now and we are going to try some other supplements but she is a little picky with the tastes.

We couldn't be happier with her!

Notes from Home
11/14/14 - Magnus is really growing and now seems about 3/4 of the size of Xena. He gets along with her very well, always approaches her with a submissive posture until he sees what type of mood she's in. They play chase quite a bit.

Xena seems to really approve of Magnus, he's a perfectly behaved gentleman - or so she thinks. She was sitting on the side table next to my chair getting petted, her tail was hanging off the edge. She kept turning around and hissing over the edge of the table as someone kept grabbing her. She'd look and never see anyone, then turn back to getting petted. This kept going on over and over until she was extremely annoyed. I wouldn't even touch her because it would set her off. Snarf was in the kitchen having a snack while this was occurring. He wandered into the living room and she spotted him and gave a very evil hiss. Stopped him in his tracks, he looked around very puzzled, then took another step. She hissed again. No mistaking her intent. He turned around and left. After a minute I saw Magnus sneak out from under the table and go behind the sofa to exit the room. He's a clever boy and has found having a 'little brother' comes with the benefit of blaming everything on Snarf :) This isn't the only time Xena has taken Snarf to task for something Magnus has done.

11-26-14 - The boys had their first kill this morning. They were playing with something and I thought they'd torn a bit off one of the throw rugs. I took it away because figured eating fabric wasn't good for them. Picked it up and it was soft and silky, was thinking I wonder if they got this off one of their toys because it doesn't look like a rug. Got it into the light - it was a small snake! This of course begs the questions where did they get it? And more importantly are there more? Yes it's an old house and I expect mice, but snakes??? I believe Magnus was responsible for the capture and dispatch, he was still looking for it 15 minutes later when I left for work. Snarf had moved on to other toys.

6/18/15 - Well Magnus is a year old now and has turned into quite the hunter, well as much of a hunter as being an indoor cat allows. Baby snake, mice, and a full grown snake! Where he found a full grown snake in the house is a bit of a disturbing question, almost as disturbing as the fact he brought it over to play with around my feet. When you realize that the long brown thing going over your foot is not actually a cat's tail you tend to leave your chair in a hurry! And by full grown I mean approximately 2 foot long and an inch in diameter at the widest point. With Magnus' help the snake was herded into a box and, much to Magnus' disappointment, taken outside.

Now that warmer weather is here he enjoys sitting in the open window (has a screen on it) and watching the outdoor life, birds and bunnies. Of course he's pretty smart and quickly realized that after he hears the screen door he can see me out there so that must be the gateway to the birds and bunnies. So now I have to watch when I go in and out, he's not terrible or really trying to escape, he just wants to investigate.

He does have luxating patellas, they aren't bad enough to need surgery (thankfully since I wouldn't want to try and keep him quiet for the recovery) and don't seem to bother him too much, if they pop out they usually pop right back in within a step or two. Controlling his weight is also important to not put too much strain on his legs, he doesn't like that. His motto is 'you never have too much food!' The dry food that is out for them to snack on is measured and when it's gone it's gone, no more. Also it's a low calorie option. Their wet food (breakfast and dinner) is mixed with water to make it seem like more and he doesn't get treats when ever he asks. Just once a day. The treats are actually oral care cat food, Xena was getting a few pieces a day for her teeth so now everyone gets a couple pieces a day. He's quite active and runs, wrestles, and plays quite a lot but he's an 'easy keeper' and gains easily.

9/22/15 - Good news! Magnus went for his annual checkup a couple weeks ago and they said his luxating patella issue has improved. They still pop out some, but not as much. My vet said they don't do the surgery themselves, they refer to a specialist, and she said the way he is now the specialist wouldn't even consider surgery. He is starting on Cosquin to try an minimize any arthritis in the future. She said his weight is good at 9.9 pounds, I'm sure he was hoping she'd say he was under weight and I had to feed him more ;) that's not happening.

He's developed into quite the sly, cheeky, boy. He likes to poke and tease, the bigger the reaction the better he likes it. Like a 5 year old boy teasing his older sister.

As the weather has gotten warmer he's added moths to his list of hunting prey. The only problem is if they get away from them they fly up to the ceiling. Then Snarf tears up the nearest path, cat tree, cupboard, exposed beam, etc., and plucks them off the ceiling. This utterly annoys Magnus, he went to all that work of stalking and catching the moth only to have Snarf steal it away - just because Snarf can climb! Alas that is Magnus' shortcoming, he can't climb very well. Run, jump, wrestle, burrow, stalk, etc., all good. Climbing not so much, and Snarf is a climber extraordinaire, definitely in the top 1% of his class. Sometimes things are a little unbalanced, Magnus doesn't let it get him down though. He usually can find an alternate route to get to where ever Snarf is, if he really can't figure out a way to follow him he just finds something else to do. There were some baby bunnies in the flower bed outside the living room window this summer. If the window was open he could sit in it and lean against the screen and watch the babies, that provided hours of enjoyment. I often wondered if those little bunnies ever got a creepy feeling like someone was spying on them :)

9/13/2016 - Hard to believe it's been 2 years! Magnus just had his annual checkup, everything is fine and the vet kept saying how handsome he was and how beautiful his coat was. She didn't even worry about his weight, which was ah-hum 11 lbs. He doesn't miss any meals. One little quirk has shown up - he loves, absolutely loves, fabric. This makes changing the bed a bit challenging because sheets are the best. I try to pick a time when he's napping and be very quiet, doesn't matter, I turn around and there is Magnus grabbing the sheets. He gathers as much as he can in his arms and just wads it all up and lays in the middle. As you can imagine this behavior isn't the best for sheets and I've had to continuously patch them. Finally this past weekend the patching no longer was enough and the bottom sheet had to be replaced. The tattered remnant of what used to be a sheet was folded and placed in Magnus' bed. He was so happy, his bed now has sheets! So now Magnus is sleeping on Cool Comfort 100% Cotton Sateen and I'm sleeping on $11 200 count something from Walmart. At least the cat is happy, isn't that what is important :)

TIA
Sweet girl, very affectionate! So much so, it's difficult to get pictures.

Tia has been out of isolation for a while and has settled in amongst the 4 resident Siamese and the other foster as well as the puppy.

Very nice, calm, mellow kitty who enjoys being petted and loved. Sleeps at the bottom of the bed and shares the bed with two torties!

Tia is doing just wonderful! She is so perfect. I could not imagine life without her. She is one lazy girl. Her days consist of sleeping, talking, eating and more sleep. She has her spot on my wife where she sleeps every night. She only drinks from the sink and will wait patiently until you turn it on for her. She's a huge part of our family and we are so so so glad we have her!!!!

ADA BYRON
Your Christmas Goose? What Goose? I didn't see the goose, really! What did it look like?
Healthy girl with Giant appetite needs loving home with large fridge. If you'd like to adopt the Safeway, consider me and I'll Bloom in your home. I won't leave any Food Lion around, that's for sure!

Ada is doing great! All the food jokes on here can just be disregarded because she is, after much hard work, at her perfect weight of 13 pounds, and is not obsessed with food anymore. She needed to be on a special diet because she had a medical issue where she was not absorbing carbs correctly (and so always felt hungry). So, can the fat jokes from now on! (And anyone making them should feel guilty; she could not help it). She is friendly and snuggly, and extremely smart. She's an integral part of my family and home.

PRINCESS
Hi there,

Meowmy said she named me Princess because I'm as beautiful as an Disney Princess and just as sweet.

I love to be held and cuddled, and love to play, though I'm gentle when I do. She thinks there may be Ragdoll in my blood lines because I'm so sweet.

If you love a cat with slightly longer hair, then I'm your gal! Ask about me and maybe your wish will come true!

Purrs,
Princess

Super loving boy. I get along with everyone - even d-o-g-s. I am a mellow boy and my favorite activity is chill-laxing. If you are looking for a snuggle buddy who is super mellow then I am your boy.

I am happy to report that Boston is doing very well! He enjoys exploring his new home and playing with his toys. My other cat, Patches, watches him with amusement and often joins in. Boston is a
good and loving boy!

Boston is such a love!!! He has trained us well! His daily routine includes watching the turkeys and other wild life from the windows, having us turn on the bathroom faucet so that he may have a fresh drink of water (why drink from a bowl), follows me from room to room so that we can play and he can have extra hugs and pats. He has really bonded well with Patches and they will cuddle together. He has also become quite the lap cat and sleeps with us every night. He has brought us so much joy over the past year and I am sure he will continue to so in the future!

I am proving to be a super lover. I lay on foster mom to sleep and I am right there for all the pets I can get. I am playful but not too rough. I had my little surgery and exam so now all I have to do is find my forever home. If you know anyone looking for a snuggle bunny will you tell them to ask about me? They won't be sorry.

Notes from Home
Jace is a big, beautiful boy. He is a sweet, shy, happy affectionate cat. He is doing very well despite the fact that my daughter and her two DOGS have been sharing the house for the past few months while her husband is stationed overseas. We have the cat zone and the dog zone. Despite the fact that nobody is aggressive, we don't want to take chances and feel it's better for all the furry people involved to have their own quiet space. The three cats and I love my daughter, but will be happy when the "yucky dogs" go home.
Since the dogs have come to visit, the cats have formed a much closer bond with each other, especially Jace and my female Abby. The other female Siamese is still a bit of a haughty princess, but that's just her!
Jace (and all other pets) is current on all his vet visits. They xrayed him for a tummy problem he had a while ago and discovered he has one deformed kidney. It doesn't appear to affect him in any adverse way so we just figure that's how he was born. We monitor his blood at checkups and leave him to his chubby self.
All in all things are fine in Jace's world. They'll improve when the dogs leave in January!
I love my boy.

LEXI
Have you been watching the Olympics? I have and I love to watch my name sake Misty May. Isn't she fantastic?????? Well, so am I. I can "dig" in my "sand"box with the best of them. My ball handling skills are super (Mama Katie will soon get a video of that), but I prefer "jingle balls" and "crinkle balls" to volleyballs - they would "set me up" for a "wipeout". I haven't figured out how to "spike" yet, but Mama Katie said something about my fur - does she mean she might "spike it"? Oh, please, ask about me quick before Mama Katie goes any more crazy with these silly word games. I am as beautiful as my Misty with dark "hair" and a beautiful smile. I love everyone and everything I meet, so I am an easy girl to get to know just like my Misty namesake. PLEASE before the Olympic spirit has died down, ask about me and let me show you how wonderful I am. I could be your Gold Medal Girl. Purrs, headbutts and kisses, Misty

Notes from Home
September 2012
Lexi is a fabulous kitty. She has a huge personality and we adore her.

She is thriving in her new home and is doing lots of purring. Her vet appt went well. She is 11.5 pounds now and vet says perfect weight. She did well traveling to and from vet - just a few complaints probably wondering what was happening to her now. I reassured her she would be back home soon. The vet and staff fell in love with her. Dr Skidmore is super impressed with Siamese Rescue.

The integration of Lexi with existing cat, Neko, has been slow. Neko chases Lexi until she hides under a bed. Still some hissing from her and groaning from him. He is very jealous, so he's getting lots of extra attention. I'm surprised at him since we have had another cat in the house and he has behaved just fine. So, we're taking it slow with little visits several times per day and if things escalate, it's back to isolating them apart. Isolation means Lexi is secured in her safe rooms and Neko gets free roam or Neko gets to sit on the screened porch while Lexi gets full roam.

This morning Lexi was introduced to the pet stroller and was able to safely explore new parts of the house on the main floor. Up to now she has come down the stairs, but regards the main floor as uncharted and unsafe (it's a big house to take in so we're taking it slowly). She is very curious and sat quietly on her stroll around. She'd have whimpered if distressed and she wasn't at all. Most curious to see the kitchen where many sounds she has heard come from. Wherever I went, I strolled her along. I know once Neko settles down and Lexi has full roam, she is going to be a follower. She doesn't want to miss anything - such a typical Siamese baby.

So, the good news is Lexi is thriving and is a very loved member of the family. The bad news is Neko is being a butthead and, like many males, is acting stubborn!!!

4 year anniversary. Everything is going great. Healthy, happy and hysterically fun cat. We adore her, as does everyone else. Most social cat we have ever had. So grateful to have this precious little diva girl. She loves everyone and still loves to play - big highlight being her laser light and her salmon pate. Wakes me up during the night just for some loving and purring. Happy 4th Anniversary to our Lexi, her partner Neko, and all her friends and family. We love you Lexi Girl!
