CAPTAIN P
Hi! I'm Pete. Are you looking for a sweet, lovable guy? I like to talk a little. I get to drooling when you pet me because I just love attention so much! I'm good in my litter box. I like to eat canned food. Oh, and did I mention that I LOVE attention?
My foster Meom is still getting to know me, not sure yet if I like the other cats. But I've been with another cat so she thinks I like the other guys.
Stay tuned for more updates from my meommy!

Captain just had his vet visit today and got sent home with a clean bill of health! The high pollen count was seen in stool and his right ear was a little moist. Going to keep an eye on that and maybe get some kind of filter for a little bit. He's been adjusting rather well! Yesterday, he decided it wasn't that scary having both Cathy and myself in the room and came out for 2 times the pets. He's getting super curious about whats outside the door, so he'll be more than ready to see the rest of the house and integrate with Tarra. No reaction from switching beds with Tarra, sniffed and laid in it. He's eating very well, and drinking too! Steady litter visits, looking good there. See attached photo for happy paws :D

VERA (FKA ARUBA)
I am the first cat on the first page for a very good reason - because I am PICKY about my forever Maw or Paw! I'm not interested in a kitten, too many wild shenanigans. Not interested in a geezer either, I've got many years ahead of me and want to share all of them with one person. Male or female is fine, I don't mind, I like both. Color is not important, but personality is key. Must be intelligent, witty, patient and kind; love lap sitting, playing, good food and soft music. Panic Mouse included. Adoption Scholarship offered by friends of SR!

Update: Vera (VA3015) went to Cat Heaven in February 2019. We spent more than 14 years of contentment together. She didn't like many people, but she was perfect for me. Loud Meezer voice, strong purr, talkative, and intelligent. She excelled at lap-sitting and sleeping on my head at night. She congratulated herself for appearing in the 2016 calendar, suitable for her diva personality.

My gratitude to Siamese Rescue for giving Vera another chance is immeasurable and much outweighs my sadness at losing her. I am honored and thankful that I was able to be her "fur-ever" person. xo

ERASMO
Hello! I am so glad to be in Siamese Rescue, I am getting a new start in life, including learning how to walk and jump again since I now have had my leg amputated and now I can be free of the cumbersome limb. I am outgoing and loving, the whole package if I do say so myself.

Love & Purrs,

Matty

Notes from Home
May 7, 2019: Erasmo has now been with us for four glorious years! He is something else. He loves to sleep either with our son or on someone's pillow above their head and purr at top volume. He has become a very fluffy boy since he has moved in with us and has a gorgeous coat and tail. He gets around beautifully with three legs and zips around the house at top speed. For anyone who has any doubts about a three-legged cat, Erasmo is definitely a success story. We adore him and are so glad he is part of our family!

March 16, 2017: Happy Two Year Anniversary to Erasmo! He is doing fabulous. He is absolutely gorgeous and has a thick beautiful coat. He loves his human brother and sleeps on his pillow every night. We adore home!!

March 16, 2016: Erasmo is a a wonderful part of our family. He is definitely a quirky cat but he is very smart and loves looking out the window chirping at birds. He is very bonded to our son and runs and crashes into him while he is playing on the floor. He has turned into an absolutely gorgeous cat. He has much longer fur than when he arrived and a beautiful fluffy tail! He purrs and loves to be held like a baby. I call him Kramer because he runs into a room like him and has that same crazed look on his face. We love him dearly and are so glad he is part of our family!!

September 14, 2015: Wow! It has been 6 months since this crazy cat entered our lives. Erasmo is a terrific cat. He is nuttier than a fruitcake but he has been an amazing companion for our autistic son. They are two peas in a pod and love each other. He has become a gorgeous cat with the must thick luxurious coat. He gets into all sorts of mischief and begs to go into the sun room to look at the birds and squirrels. We love him so much and enjoy is silly quirky ways.

April 17, 2015: Erasmo is fully integrated into our family. He is sweeter than we could have imagined. He loves his human brother and sleeps in his room with him. Erasmo and Shrimpycat are still trying to work things about but they are slowly getting there. 99% of the time, they are fine but once in a while, they talk at each other and let each other know what's what. He is extremely playful and loves to bat around his ball. He loves to watch birds out the window . Whenever someone comes to the door, he readily greets them with a meow and the expectation that they will pick him up. Because he had all of his rear leg and part of his pelvis removed, he as an interesting way of running. He almost uses the back leg like a paddle and pushes himself along. He almost reminds me of a beaver. It does not slow him down at all. We love him so much. He is a fabulous family cat: social, talkative, playful, loving, and sweet. He definitely has a frisky side and is pretty silly. He has taken over Sven's FB page: https://www.facebook.com/svenvikingcat?ref=aymt_homepage_panel

I feel that I should write in all caps because ERASMO IS SO SWEET AND AWESOME!!! He is settling in well in the guestroom and is eating, drinking, etc. He loves to snuggle and seems to purr nonstop. If one of us tries to leave the room, he attempts to trip us so that we stay with him. With three legs, he still likes to play with toys. He jumps on the bed with ease and gets around fine. He is not fully coordinated when he tries to move quickly but he is figuring it out. We love him so much already!

Simba has become quite comfortable in his new home. He and his sister Aggie have started playing together as of today. He is such a lover and a big part of our family.

I've attached a picture of Aggie as well, which was taken on a day that she wasn't too sure about the new guy.

Happy Meowloween!

Simba passed away on April 10, 2019 due to complications from his asthma. We have never been so heartbroken at the loss of a fur baby as this one. We would love to find another one that looked and acted just like he did.

Notes from Home
April 28, 2018
After a very long journey (7.5 hour)...Willow Nina arrived at her forever home in Westbury, NY. She was a trooper the entire time. Willow was a happy to be in her safe room, where she used the litter box and explored. She ate, drank and played. She never hid or withdrew albeit she was on guard at times and rightly so. We bonded immediately, I allowed her time to rest and relax -which she did in her new Millie bed. Thank you to everyone involved in her rescue, for the amazing goody bag and all the support during our journey. I will slowly introduce Willow to my 14 year old Seal, Lily over the next few days.
So happy to have Willow home and settling in!!!

May 2, 2018
Willow continues to gain confidence and become more comfortable. When I am home- Willow is out of the safe room to explore and play. Lily is trying to engage but Willow is still unsure and hisses and swipes at Lily. Lily will hiss back but walks away....I continue to share out the pads with each ones scent. Willow is eating, using litter box, playing and affectionate. She does not like to be hugged/petted or picked up when on her side.... learning about her daily.

May 3 2018
Greetings-
Willow has a little polyp in her nose that is inflamed so that’s why she is horse and has a little snort. Vet gave her a long lasting antibiotic to make sure there is no upper respiratory issue. It may just be allergies.
I will just watch her for 14 days and hope it settles down. She weighs 7.2 pounds and is in great health otherwise. Vet feels she is younger than 9 months- more like 6-7 months and two of her top incisors have come in.
Willow is still in her safe room while I am at work but out the rest of the evening and overnight.

She is adjusting nicely and slowly gaining confidence. She and Lily have touched noses- Lily is very sweet to her-but she still has her guard up... last night she took a stance to Lily and started to swipe and went into attack mode. Lily left immediately without incident. Willow has some issues with trust with other cats that we need to work on carefully and patiently. Albeit she is affectionate and very, very silly. Love her!
Thanks all-

May 7,2018
Busy weekend and Willow went with the flow. She was sweet and calm when she met my niece Holly (8) and played with her gently. Lily has been sitting and waiting for Willow to come to her and they touched noses again with no hissing. Willows allergies are better she is snorting less often and her meow is back. She continues to eat, sleep, play and use the litter box normally. She is comfortable in her new home and she finds a cozy place to sleep or look out the window in every room. Today is the first day she will have free run of the house while I am at school....I have no concerns at all.
It has been 7 full days and it is like she has always been here!

May 9 2018- Day 10
Willow is back in her safe room while I am at school. I felt it best for Lily to not be stressed by Willow without me there. Lily wants to play with her but without the swiping. Willow is catching on and we all played for about 30 minutes straight the last few nights with no hissing or swiping. Then they both slept near one another without incident. I need to keep repeating this pattern for another few days until it is rote. Willow is a really sweet girl she is affectionate to me all the time and loves her Wellness wet food.... Willow and Lily are a positive work in progress with patience and TLC we will all prevail.

May 12, 2018
Willow and Lily are bonding nicely...I took the advice of Sheri and Debi and slowed down the process and now they play tag and fetch (sort of) eat and rest together....if I am gone for over 4 hours I still separate them...but when they meet again they touch noses and there is no longer any hissing. Love this little girl Willow and I am so proud of my old gal Lily for making room in her gentle heart for Willow.

May 15, 2018
Everyone is doing very well. Willow is right at home and her guard is completely down. She is a pleasure and a love-I am so happy to have her. She is much kinder to Lily, as Lily has always been kind to her....so she is learning from her elder. Thank you all again....I absolutely love her.

May/25/18
We finally got to the bottom of Willows hoarse meow and the mucus in her throat....she has seasonal asthma from the tree pollen. She had an Albuterol treatment and a steroid injection after an x-ray and it cleared up. She was mouth breathing a little on Sunday so I took her to the ER and after treatment she was better. Her meow is high pitched and mellow but much stronger and there is no hoarseness.
She goes back on Tuesday for a follow up. She was actually acting normal...but the panting (albeit it was only a few times) is a sign of distress so off we went.
She and Lily are getting along pretty well....Willow can still be "play" aggressive but Lily just backs away. She continues to eat, play use the litter box normally and seems right at home. She has her favorite spots in the house and continues to be super affectionate and hilarious. Love her!!

5/30/18
So it has been one month since Willow came home....she has been an absolute delight. Last night at her asthma check up the Vet almost stole her from me....every single person that works at the Vets office came to see her. She was the star of the day at the Vet. The Vet told me I was very lucky to have rescued and adopted such a precious cat and I just smiled and agreed. Willows spring induced asthma is under control and will only need medication if her symptoms get worse. She also had an additional stool test just to rule out any parasites in her intestines....even tho she was previously treated at foster with Debbi. Willow is very smart, brave and such a love muffin....you can not help but fall in love with her at first sight.

UPDATE-Stool clear no parasites...Meow is back...the snort comes more from her throat and it is the way she communicates and purrs….she has many expressive sounds that I am getting used too….so I will just rest easy and enjoy her!!

7/06/18
Willow continues to develop into a most loving, smart and silly girl. She is full of personality and cuteness. We just love her!

7/30/18
We are beginning the process of finding Willow a young brother...Willow is right at home and loves to play and wrestle...she is just 1 and still full of kitten power. Willow is here 3 months now and ready to accept a little brother. Lily (15) is kind and loving but will only tolerate playing and wrestling so much. I am off the month of August and looking forward to finding the right little/young guy.
Lily passed away 8/16/18-heart broken....Willow and I are simply heartbroken.
3/5/19 Willow has a new sister...Daphne. Both are doing wonderfully.....they play, eat, sleep together, Both are on a limited diet with a probiotic, which helps Willow with her allergies and Daphne with her sensitive stomach!

May 2 2019....
Willow has been home for a year and she has been a wonderful girl. It has taken her sometime to adapt to all the changes....the loss of our beloved Lily and the addition of Daphne and Cooper. Willow and Daphne are bonded now and we are working on Cooper. I had a thought that I will run by you.....Willow was pregnant at 7 months and the kittens were aborted during her spray....do you think she may need extra time with Cooper because he is a male? She was not as hissy when meeting either female. She has not been with Cooper yet, only has seen him from a distance and I have shared his scent/blanket with her. She has not changed her attitude towards me or Daphne and all her other behaviors are fine. I think you will probably tell me some cats just take longer than others. I will continue to be patient with my girl....and I am sure it will all work out...it is only 5 days....(Daphne is good with Cooper and Willow)

After re-reading all my notes....it is just going to take Willow time to adjust.....she does the best she can and I will continue to give her love and special attention.

Notes from Home
So it has been a week since we brought Tippy home to her new house. We were originally thinking that it was going to take a few weeks for her to come out of her shell but she was interacting on the second day. She stayed in her carrier for the first day and explored her play area on the first day. On the second day, she came out more and was walking around. That evening, we were watching TV and she kept meowing in protest as she wanted to be with us. I opened the area and she joined us in the living room after exploring some of the other areas. She then laid down and rubbed against the carpet.

I bought three different kitty hideaway beds and she hasn’t used any of them. I tried using catnip but she doesn’t seem to respond to it. I tried spraying it on several things and she could care less. I figured that it might be the brand and got a couple of different types but she hasn’t responded to any of them either. She likes to sleep on the top perch of HER cat tree when nobody is home. It is brand new and only has her scent on it so she loves it. Tippy has recently started sleeping at the end of the bed and cuddling with us when we go to bed.

As far as food and water, she likes the Blue Buffalo dry food but wet food is a little bit trickier. She likes her wet food like a soup. She is not very fond of chunks, flakes or strips. A nice watery pate and she will gobble it up. Tippy wasn’t drinking a lot of water either and one day when we were doing dishes and cleaning the kitchen, the faucet was left on a trickle and she got underneath it and drank like a fish. Since she only likers running water, we bought a CatIt fountain and will see if she likes it.

Tippy is fickle with wand toys. She plays with some and swats at them but it doesn’t really hold her interest. I had a really thick lace from a duffel bag and she went nutz over it. She loves a thick lace, a thin rope and lasers. When you get them out, she starts chittering and booty shaking before attacking them. Tippy is really active late at night which is perfect as I am usually home at midnight from work and we play then. Tippy cuddles a lot now and doesn’t hide anymore however this weekend will be the test as my daughters are staying the weekend. This will be the first time other people are in the house.

I took Tippy for her vet visit to meet the doctor. She was an absolute champ. No growling, hissing, hiding or anything else. The vet was VERY impressed and stated that she was one of the best, if not The Best, kitties that she has examined. We are scheduled for the one year checkup barring any issues throughout the year.

5-1-17 So my daughters came over for the weekend and I was anticipating Tippy would be hidden the whole weekend......wrong!! Friday was adjustment day and when I came home in Saturday, Tippy was at the end of the recliner at my daughters feet stretched out lol. She likes kids that are 12ish and older. The CatIt fountain came in and a HUGE HIT. I have a 2 minute of her drinking from it lol.

10-03-17 Tippy has flourished and is a wonderful kitty. So her favorite toys are the small furry worms and the furry snakes with a small bell in them. when she hears the bell she comes a running. She also loves lickable wet food. She will eat some food that has chunks but a lot of it is wasted. I have blended it and she loves it. She also loves the Milly Bed in the window as her favorite bed and favorite spot.

Yesterday (10-2-17) she had some yellow crusties in the sclera of her left eye. It was wiped off and no problems. When we arrived back home this morning, Tippy greeted us at the door but she had her left eye closed and kept messing with it. We immediately brought her to the doctor and she has a superficial ulcer on her Cornea which was most likely from dust or something. Her nictitating membrane also had inflammation and a small scratch to it from her messing with it. Nothing serious according to the Dr but we have some antibiotic that we are giving her and have a checkup on Friday. Tippy is a FAVORITE at the doctors office. She is always so calm and patient with the exams. The doctor put drops in and even had to pull the nictitating membrane away to check behind it and Tippy didn't growl or even flinch. What a great kitty.

Just wanted to send an update, We went back to the Kitty Doc for a followup and we caught the ulcer way in the beginning stages and she healed perfectly with the antibiotic. The ulcer is gone but the nick on her nictitating membrane (third eyelid) will be permanent. No problems though, it gives her character =).

4/5/2018 - Tippy had recently went to the vet and had her yearly checkup. She is doing great. The vets office always loves seeing her as she is so soft with a beautiful coat. They even take her around to see the other folks. As far as home updates, Tippy has a romp cube that she loves. She runs and plays inside of it constantly. We bought it almost 6 months ago and she didn’t really show any interest and then BOOM, now it is her favorite toy. We also bought some Kitty grass. She loves to do little chomps on it but really enjoys it. Any of the fresh grass works. She is still not fond of the Catnip plants though. Her other favorite toy remains to be the fuzzy worms and regular sting. She likes the occasional blended lickable wetfood but could take it or leave it. We have maintained a healthy weight and she is still doing great.

4-19-2017 – We have moved into a new house. We cleared out all the furniture out of the old house and set it up in the new house before brining Tippy there. This made her nervous. She was very vocal and when we were at the old house she would stay very close. She came to the new house and wandered around to get her bearings but all the smells were the same so she was cool.

We have established that Tippy will only eat Blue Buffalo food. We have tried to see if there was anything else but that is a NO. We tried by the slow method of mixing a little with her food and she wasn’t having it. If her Blue Buffalo is tainted with anything, she won’t eat it. Wet food is more diverse. It has to be blended or she is not a fan and you will waste it. Her favorite is the Delectables Bisque. She has ONE every morning for breakfast and her BB for the rest of the day. ***Note, I had some Vienna Sausages and went to the bathroom and when I came back, her face was in my can. No idea what that is about but we don’t feed her table food and she doesn’t like it anyway……….except I guess Vienna Sausages lol.

She also had her vet checkup a couple of weeks ago. She is still in great health. All her labs and stuff came back as normal. I had done the Major Test on her first visit to check for everything and so we had it on file. She is the same exact weight as a year ago (-.08 lbs). She has a fabric cat carrier (spoiled) and when other animals approach she doesn’t seem to mind them.
I had watched/bordered my eldest daughter’s cats (2) for about a week and they stayed in the finished section of the basement (playroom/movieroom). Even though there was a door between them, Tippy had a chance to sniff and didn’t seem to care. The door was open a few times and she came down and was more curious as to who they were. I have yet to see her growl, hiss, or get mad/scared at anything. We have been leaving the window open and she likes to sit on a tray table and look out but has little interest in other animals. She will watch the birds and stuff but nothing major.

Tippy loves to go under the covers and lay between your legs if you are sitting or lying on your back. If you are sitting on a recliner or you have your legs bridged creating a little tent, she will head butt to get into the tent and will hang out there. She still plays with her toys and laser light. She absolutely loves her Cat Dancer Original Cat Toy. It is a wire with cardboard at the end and can be found anywhere. She will play with it more than anything and if you have it adjusted high enough she starts to jump. She is always purring but runs when new people come into the house. She has let my landlord pet her a few times but then walk away like “that’s enough for you”.

Zeke is awesome & loving life with us humans.
We did have to take him to Delaware for RadioCat in 2012 but are happy to say it is in the past now.
Our vet confirmed with post, follow up lab work that the radiation was a success!!
We are in process of reactivating our application because we...
- would love some feline companionship for him
- would love to offer another cat a furever home

It is with heavy hearts that we post Zeke has left the physical world due to advanced renal failure. We were privileged to have him as part of our family for the past 13 years! He was also a loving companion to Liesl whom we only had for 3 years before her organs failed. She had been found on the streets of Washington DC with a thyroid disorder. Even though we took her to DE for radiation to cure her of that condition, the time she was on her own without medication seemed to have already taken itsr toll on her organs :(

03/28/14 - Milo is continuing to settled in and he is becoming much more relaxed and at home. He plays like a kitten and loves the little furry mice!! One thing we are learning about Milo....he loves his food!!! He is not at all a picky eater. So far we are seeing an overly needy or vocal cat. That may change in time but so far he is just a great kitty who likes to hang out with you and cuddle on your lap. This really is one GREAT cat!!!!!

10/04/14 - This is a long overdue update on Milo. After getting off to a rough start with Cazzie, he is now fully integrated and is doing very well. We kept him and Cazzie separated for about 5 months and put them together only when we could supervise them. The time became longer until they were fully integrated. Cazzie still will chase him but its rare and not as intense as it was at first. Milo will still hiss at her if she invades his space. They may not ever be best buddies, but they are learning to live peacefully. The house is big enough that they all have there own space. Milo has been with us for 6 months now and is starting to settling in and his personality is coming out. He is quite the character! We are finding that he really is not the needy cat his prior adopter said. I think maybe its because we are semi retired and therefore home more and we are able to give him the attention he wants. He likes to just hang out with you and he follows me EVERYWHERE :). He loves to play and he loves it when you chase him and then he will chase you. I'm not sure if he is playing hide and seek or tag, but he loves it.

Right now Milo is on a special diet because after being here for a couple of months Milo started to pull his fur out on his back. I thought it was the stress due to Cazzie, but the vet thought is was a food allergy so we put him of the Royal Canin Selected Protien, Rabbit and Peas (wet and dry). I'm not totally convinced he has a food allergy, but he is doing very well on this diet. He is no long pulling his fur out and his fur has grown back and is looking very smooth and shiny. I must admit I had my doubt if this was going to work out or not, but we really wanted to give Milo a chance. He truly is a great cat. He has a wonderful personality. He is a talker, but not excessively. He's more on a conversation level. Milo is not excessive in any area, except being a really great cat. We feel privileged to have him as part of our family. Thank you Siri and Marjorie for all your help and advice.

11/04/14 - Major breakthrough on the home front!! Cazzie is allowing Milo to sleep in bed with us. I am amazed at how quickly Milo is bonding with us and becoming a loving member of our family. Siri you are so right when you said how smart he is. He is just the perfect cat for us.

02/06/2015 - Thought I would send an update on Milo. Milo spent thanksgiving on the road. He went on probably his first ever camping trip in our Motor Home. He traveled beautifully and slept in his Millie bed the whole way. Milo had a checkup last November and is in excellent health. His Daddy had surgery a couple weeks ago and Milo has been Steve's constant companion. Milo has proved himself a VERY smart cat. It has been not quite a year yet, but he has really bonded with us. He is a real gem of a cat!!!

03/28/16 - Hello Siamese Rescue, Aunt Siri and Aunt Marjorie!! Well Milo has been with us for two years now. Since the passing of Cazzie he is now our only cat and frankly I think he enjoys being the only kitty. He sleeps with us every night, between us and under the covers. When he wants attention, he will get on a table or counter and knock things off to get our attention. Earlier this month he had a check up and a dental and he is in excellent health. His dental went well and there were no extractions. He has gotten more active and has dropped a little weight and is looking very handsome these days. Our vet is very pleased with our well he is doing and how good he looks. His coat is absolutely beautiful. Milo is a wonderful loving addition to our house and he is much loved.

04/25/2019 Wow, it's been a while since I have sent an update on Milo. Milo is now 16 years old. He is in the early stages of kidney diesease. He is on the perscription kidney diet. He prefers the Royal Canin over the Hills Science Diet. He is also getting SubQ fluids 3 times a week. Bless his heart he is so laid back I am able to give him the fluids at home. He doesn't like it and grumbles a lot but he tolerates it very well. He wasn't eating very much and had lost weight so the vet put him on an anti nausea medicaton and an appetite stimulant. He also gets Proviable probiotic in his food 2 times a day. With all of this support he is doing amazingly well. Our household has been through some changes. The biggest change is my husband Steve pased away March 13, 2018. Poor Milo was so confused for about the first month. Steve had been ill for a while and Milo spent a lot of time with him. So needless to say Milo just couldn't figure out where one of hispeople had gone. After the first month Milo started to adjust to just having one person, me. I'm only working part time so i am able to spend a lot of time with him. Needless to say Milo is my companion now. He has become somewhat of a velcro kitty, but thats just fine with me. Also Milo is an only cat and I think he prefers it that way. He gets all the attention and he LOVES it!

WILLIE
Hey you - yes you! You know you want me. Click that button, but do it quick. I'm cute, I'm talkative (foster mom says "mouthy"), I'm active, I'm smart, I like other cats, and I even like those dog things. I've already got my bags packed, 'cause I know you'll be taking me home soon.

I am definately not a kitten for the "faint of heart" as I'm a bit of a handful, and I absolutely need another kitten or young playful cat to go home with.

Notes from Home
Our Willie crossed the kitty rainbow on Mar 15 2019. My heart is still broken. We could not have asked for a better cat. Will was as obedient as a dog and had the personality of a human. He was truly unique, and we could not have been happier to share our home with him!
