Listen up folks! I'm a pretty resilient gal but I'm ready for my forever and ever home. I don't know why I should have such a rough life. I'm a super nice cat that just wants to be your friend.

I've had some pretty confusing times being shuffled around from home to home but here I am now. I'm waiting and waiting for you.

Notes from Home
Hi everyone! Problems with my email have prevented me from writing sooner.
Alice (VA9574) is now known as Baby. She does everything her big brother Sonny does. And she loves going upstairs to visit her big sister Kimba with him - the exercise is great for her. The doctor said she is "a doll - very lovable". We're watching her weight - no loss yet, but no gain either.
We knew she had a special thing for socks, she still carries them around if no one is watching. But we were really surprised when we heard her yelling at them!!! What a voice!
She also loves her cardboard scratching pad. There's pieces of cardboard all over the place. If you can't find her, just follow the cardboard.
Baby never fails to bring a smile to our faces - she's even won over Sonny.

11/20/2016:
HI everyone! Well, I've been at my 'forever' home 3 years now. I'm so comfortable here, I love it! Especially since I've gotten my mom and her sister 'trained' to understand what my different looks and sounds mean. Oh, I still carry around my socks and make my special sounds. But now I just stare at mom and she knows that I'd like to eat.
I have a new little brother. He's 2 yrs old. I love it when he comes and kisses me. He also likes to help me when I'm washing, but he knows it's time to leave me alone when I give him my 'stop it' look.
It is so nice here that I spend a lot of my time just lounging around. I'm sending you a picture of how I lounge. I'm also adding a picture of how I relax by watching the birds. One more thing - I want to say Thank you to all of the nice people at the
"Rescue" for helping me find my forever home. I will love you all forever.

Han and Chewie are doing great! They have had full reign of the house for a little over 2 weeks now. Punky has adopted them as her own kittens and they run around and play and she even cleans them just as if they were her own.

Everyone that has visited the house thinks they are adorable and they love everyone that has come over.

We are so happy to have these two boys in our family!

Chewie and Han have an instagram which is just chewieandhan

Foster Mom is always calling me her little Peanut. She says it's because I'm cute and i'm tiny and I was shy but I'm coming out of my "shell". I love love love to play, and when I'm done I crawl into your lap and take a nap. Then I eat, play and nap some more. Foster Mom says that's what kittens do. I'm sweet, and lots of fun. Ask about me and Foster Mom will tell you more.

Do you have a quiet home and an empty lap? If so, I just might be the cat for you! Other cats are fine but only nice girls, please. Boys are a little scary. Or I'd be just as happy to be your one and only. I am all ready to go home so what are you waiting for?

HELLO EVERYONE,
A BIG, HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO RESCUE THESE DEAR CATS. THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR SHILOH TO COME HOME TO US. WE SO APPRECIATE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE.

THIS IS THE END OF WEEK TWO AND SHILOH IS A WONDERFUL, LOVING BIG BOY. HE SITS ON OUR LAPS, PURRS WHILE PETTED. HE IS NOW FREE ON THE TWO STORIES OF THE HOUSE/STILL EXCLUDED FROM THE BASEMENT. IT TOOK SOME TIME FOR HIM TO VENTURE OUT OF HIS SAFE ROOM. I LET HIM GUIDE ME ON WHEN TO BROADEN HIS AREA. HE HAS EXPLORED MANY NEW PLACES AND SEEMS HAPPY. HE IS STILL SKITTISH WITH SUDDEN MOVEMENTS AND NEW NOISES BUT HIS CONFIDENCE GROWS DAY BY DAY.

HE HAD HIS FIRST WELL VISIT TO HIS VET TODAY AND ALL IS GOOD. THEY ADMIRED HIS HANDSOMNESS AND LOVED HIM UP. I WENT IN WITH MY NOTES ON ALL OF SRC PROTOCOLS FOR VACCINATIONS AS PER HANDOUT AND MY VET AGREED WITH ALL EXCEPT DID NOT DO INTRANASAL VACCINATIONS.

I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING AND READING ABOUT FOOD AND LITTER FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF SAFETY FOR THIS PRECIOUS GUY. WE WANT TO DO THE VERY BEST FOR THIS MEEZER.

I WILL TRY TO UPLOAD SOME PHOTOS FOR YOU BUT I MUST SAY THAT SHILOH'S (aka/YANNI)
MOM HAD MUCH BETTER PHOTOS OF HIM THAN ME.

I HAVE HAD MANY EMAILS WITH HIS FOSTER, TOUCHING BASE & INQUIRING ABOUT VARIOUS THINGS WITH HIM. I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS DEAR FOSTER MOM, KATHY.

I DROVE TO A SHELTER IN NH TO BRING SOME HANDOUTS THAT I HAD FROM SRO AND TOLD THEM HOW WONDERFUL YOUR ORGANIZATION WAS. ALSO STRONGLY ENCOURAGED MY VET TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU IF THEY HAVE ANY SIAMESE CATS COME IN. THIS VET PRACTICE PARTICIPATES WITH TWO SMALL LOCAL RESCUE GROUPS. THEY PROVIDE THE SHOTS AND SPAYING/NEUTIRING AT NO CHARGE. EVEN TODAY THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE FOR MY VISIT BECAUSE SHILOH WAS A RESCUE CAT. AWESOME, I KNEW I LOVED THESE VETS.

SHILOH SENDS BIG PURRS AND HEADBUTTS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO CARED FOR HIM. THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTERS ALSO. YOU ARE THE BEST.
MERRI & STEVE

Hello Everyone and Merry Christmas! 12/17/13

Shiloh has been here for a month now. He is a wonderful, loving cat. He has now bonded pretty much with me. He still has trust issues and is frightened by new people or quick movements. It is pretty much what I would expect but he trusts me more day by day. He is healthy, eating well and has perfect litter box habits.

He is a joy and will be a really nice Christmas present this year.

Merri Keenan

Six Month Anniversary

Hi Everyone. I will tell you at the six month report that we are delighted with Shiloh. He is just a very sweet cat. We have had some adjustment issues, but we have solved them.
He is a delight and we are so glad we adopted him.

It now seems like he has been here forever! Love this cat so much! He is a real snuggle cat. He often hops on my lap if I am on the computer, always when I sit down to read. He loves to purr and nibble at my fingers. He also loves to sleep on our bed at night.

Happy to report his Feline Leukemia done in April was negative. He had a small growth (cutaneous horn) on his neck which was removed under anesthesia. At the same time he had a dental done. I am now attempting to train him so I will be able to brush his teeth. It is a month long training to get him used to it. We shall see.

Thanks so much for our wonderful cat!
Merri Keenan

Hello Friends,
Happy Birthday to Shiloh as you start your 3rd year with us! Shiloh is healthy, doing so well and loved so much. He has made a new friend in our grand dog Austin who visits most days. It took some time and care in separating them but now Shiloh likes him. About a year ago I turned our dining room into Shiloh’ room by covering the table & buffet as he likes to sit on them. Then we added a bird feeder right outside the window and he can watch the birds up close. He is entranced with listening to them sing during the warm weather. Throw in a scratching post and cat bed and you get a happy cat! I still can’t get any videos of him. Would love to post him going crazy chasing ping pong balls, but every time I turn the record button on and it beeps he freezes. Thanks again to everyone who made it possible for us to receive this delightful boy.

POPPET
Why am I still here?

I'm a perfect kitten!

I'm sweet, loving, and playful. (Look at my new videos.)

I get along with all the cats, kittens and even the pesky doggies.

I eat what meowmy gives me. I use my potty box like the lady I am
and I only scratch my scratching posts and pads.

So what's the problem?

I'm perfect! Can't get better than me!

I just wanted to send you a brief update on Poppet. She is doing wonderfully! I was very surprised, she seemed to adjust to her new surroundings very quickly. I almost saw it happening – several days after she arrived we were playing with some of her toys. She was only halfheartedly pawing at them, and I was just about to give up when she stopped, thought about it for a few seconds, and then started dashing around, jumping and playing with everything all at once. It was as if a light went off in her head and she knew it was okay for her to be there. Since then, she has been a very happy and busy little kitty. She purrs all the time, loves to play with her little mice, springs and dumbbell toys. Or, when all else fails, chasing her tail around.
She has become my constant companion when I am home. No matter what room of the house I am in, she will be at my side within five minutes – and if I leave, she comes with me. While she has bonded more to me than Erik, the two of them are beginning to develop a relationship. If we are lying in bed watching TV, Poppet will fall asleep on his legs. I think her fear is still that he will step on her because he’s so tall and has big feet! But when he is lying down she will snuggle and purr with him.
I thought Thanksgiving might be tough for her, as we were having nine people she didn’t know over for dinner. I moved all of her stuff up into our bedroom so she could be away from the activity, but I left the door open so she wouldn’t feel trapped. As dinner was winding down, she came downstairs to be admired and petted by everyone present! She was very brave!
I am taking her to the vet this Saturday, and I’m anxious to see if she has grown. I think she has, as she really seems to want to be fed in the morning and evening. I’ll check with the vet to make sure I am feeding her enough, but I know she is not starving as she doesn’t eat all of her kibble every day. Her markings are also getting a little darker.
I’m sorry that I don’t have a picture to send! Honestly, she is on the go all the time and it is hard to get her to sit still for a picture! And when she sleeps, it is still under the bed. But I will try and post some on my facebook page shortly.
Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to adopt such a wonderful little friend!

Dear Foster Meowmy Nancy,
When you first told me I was going to go to my forever home, I was very upset. I thought you and I had a good relationship - I mean I was vigilant about keeping your neck and chin clean and snuggled up against you every chance I had just to keep you warm. I couldn't understand why you would do this to me. But now that I've been here a month or so, it's a good thing you sent me. I don't know how these two managed to survive without me.
Let me just say that so far, things are going pretty good. I have the run of the place, and there are lots of good places to sleep. I even have a bathroom all to myself! The only problem is the house is totally overrun by mice. They are everywhere - grey ones, white ones, and even some strange pink and purple ones (I've never seen anything like it!). I've tried to get my new meowmy to understand that mice don't belong in the house. Every time I catch one, I bring it to her, and she just laughs and tosses it across the room. I run and get it again, and bring it back to her, and she just tosses it across the room again. She will do this until I am so exhausted that I just lie on it to stop the madness. One day last week we were working on the computer and meowmy put on a movie about mice. I tried to show her how to catch them, but she didn't understand. Again, she just laughed and hugged me and told me I was cute. I know that! But we need to get the mice out of the house. I will continue to work on this.
Actually, foster meowmy, I am very worried about my new mother. She seems very scatter brained. Every night she comes home and she wonders from place to place, moving things around, wiping counters and opening and closing doors. There does not seem to be any purpose to these wonderings, so I follow her, just to make sure she doesn't hurt herself. It's even worse on Saturdays, because she follows this same ritual in every room in the house! She is often accompanied by a huge monster called Vac-cume who lives in one of the closets. I don't like him and am afraid he may hurt meowmy so I do my best to be brave. By the end of the day, I'm exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open.
Sadly, meowmy's inability to focus seems to apply to my mealtimes, too. Don't get me wrong - I'm very well fed - but it can be challenging to get my meals ready. I'm afraid that if I don't stay right under meowmy's feet when she comes downstairs in the morning, I may not get fed. No matter how much I cry to let her know that I'm there, she doesn't seem to be aware of me and will do something totally unnecessary, like bring in the morning newspaper. Occasionally I've had to jump up and nip her behind to keep her focused!
Foster Meowmy, did you know I would be living with a MAN!?!!? He is HUGE and his feet are the size of boats. At first, I thought he might be trying to use them to kill me because he didn't like how much meowmy loves me, but I don't think that's true anymore. He calls me "his little friend" and is very nice to me, but I still think he might step on me, so I keep a friendly distance. This one is going to take work.
So as you can see, I am very needed in this household, and it is a good thing I am here. I've gained a little weight, and I'm getting very tall. As soon as I get a little bigger, I'm going to rule this house and get everything under control - I'm sure of it.
Love,
Poppet
11/16/15
We were just remarking yesterday that it was her one year anniversary with us! She is still a little sweetheart, and dearly loved. Erik likens her to a '20's flapper -- all play and dance! At this point in time, she doesn't show many signs of outgrowing her kitten hood. Most mornings she wakes me up running across my head as she chases the lights on the bedroom walls made by cars as they go down the street. And as I was making breakfast this morning, she was rolling around chasing her tail.
I'll try and get you some pictures of her - I've been remiss posting on Facebook.
But thank you again for my wonderful little friend.

11/16/016
Wow, I can't believe we've had Poppet for two years! We still love her dearly but she's been having a little bit of a difficult time lately. She has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She had been getting sick a lot, but I assumed that it was just from her excessive cleaning combined with shedding during the summer months. About a month ago she started having bad accidents outside of her litter box and her stools were very loose. We took her to the vet and she told us she had IBD. I've had to change everything she eats, which was a challenge! Now, she'll only eat her wet food if I microwave it for a few seconds to warm it up, and sprinkle it with grated Parmesan! What a little Diva!!! But she is doing much, much better, and is getting some of her playfulness back. I'm hoping that the change in diet will solve the problem, as she will be a very hard cat to pill.

Apparently, IBD can be caused by stress, including stress from boredom with little simulation. That is a long way of saying that we think we may want to adopt another kitten this spring!

Marsh made himself at home very quickly when he got here. He is a hilarious ball of energy. He still LOVES that ball that Debbie, his foster mom sent with him and has torn its ear off. He zoned in on a feather off a cat dangling toy and broke it off. He drags that feather all over the place, including up and downstairs! He gets along wonderful with his sister, Bella. They often can be found laying right next to each other purring like crazy.

We are overjoyed to have him and his sister in this family. Thank you, SiameseRescue for making this possible!

NYLE
I think that I was probably outside for awhile. I am a handsome boy and I am sure happy to have a safe place but I really want a forever home. I was a happy cat and then my owner passed away. Someone took me in to live with them but something happened and I don't know what it was and I was taken to the shelter where a rescue angel came and took me away from there. Now I have a foster mom and pa and it is good for now.

I communicate by growling but no biting or any of that bad stuff. I want everyone to understand why I miss my former person. I guess this is all for now but foster mom is watching me and I like the attention.

Nyle- AKA LIL BOY now is doing great in his new home. He is healthy and gained about 1.5 lbs. (feeding is on a schedule as it gives them both something to do :) )

He is very friendly now and not shy at all when people come to the house. He will come out and greet them.
He has warmed up nicely to Darlene and has stopped his love bites and arm hugs now that he has decompressed and realizes hes OK now in a safe place.

He sleeps in bed with her every night. And loves to pull the fuzzy blankets off the bed and drag them into the living room and then back to the bed when hes ready. Darlene says its the funniest thing to watch.

Lil Boy isn't too interested in many toys but enjoys playing with the ever elusive feather on the stick!! When Stella (niece) comes to visit he runs right up to her and waits to start the great feather hunt!

He follows Darlene everywhere and oddly enough, he must know, but he does not do the typical cat between the legs circles with her. He stays next to her but never goes between her legs when shes walking. Such a gentleman!

Darlene loves him so much! She says she cant imagine him not being in her life.

Thank you so much for bringing him into her life.

OK people! It's time you noticed me and asked Foster Mom about me if you are looking for a beautiful, sweet, fun, friendly, loving kitten like me.

I like to climb all over Foster Mom and purr, purr, purr, rub, rub, rub in between play sessions I wind around her legs when she is standing at the counter.. I chirp when I am playing with my toys and I LOVE the Cat's Meow electronic toy and the big ball with the bell in it. Actually all toys are fun!

I am all ready to go home!

Be sure to check out my videos.

Little Elegance is the entire family's favorite new sister/cousin/granddaughter/niece. That's a lot of descriptions for one little kitty, but this update will explain all of them. First off, Dubious loves his new little sister. They are playing together or napping together from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed. Ellie is the mischievous one who spends half her time either attacking or preparing to attack her big brother. Dubious has taken on his role of big brother seriously. He helped with teaching Ellie not to go down the back porch stairs when we take them out on leashes. After Ellie finishes her treat plate (pieces of chicken or fish), he will go by and scratch around to her cover up the smells. The second time I clipped Ellie's nails (aka tortured her from Duby's perspective), he came to her aid and tried to to pull my hands off her paws. He also is diligent in grooming her, and she tends to be a little damp from head to toe by the time he finishes. Ellie will sometimes clean around Duby's face, but it often turns into attacking him shortly after.

Two weekends ago I took Ellie and Dubes home to visit my family: my mom, dad, sister, nephews, and my sister's elderly shitzu, Simba. My nephews immediately wanted to play with her, and it didn't take long for her to realize they had some fun toys she could play with them in. Her favorite toy was their large tunnels and she played with my youngest nephew Landon for 20 minutes in them. She even let my nephews pet her. She kept my dad company while he was changing the flusher for one of their toilets. He told me she climbed all over his back the entire time. She sat next to my mom while we watched TV, and even my sister, who didn't love cats, pet her with my nephews. What surprised my family the most was how she treated Simba. Ellie was very gentle and laid next next to him rather than attack him, like Dubes use to.

Ellie and I have a tradition for when I come home from work. I will sit next to the food bowl and pet her while she eats dinner. I leave food out all day, but she waits and looks forward eating with me once I get home. She also loves cuddling next to me on the couch when we watch TV. She is super playful and practically turns everything into a game. One of her favorite new games is paying fetch with her plastic springs. She brings them to Chase and me all the time, whether cooking we're in the kitchen, sitting on the couch, or upstairs when Chase is playing on his Playstation. From that room, we can throw it down the stairs, and she loves this more challenging fetch. I've got to follow up, with my vet, for her soon; I'll send a health update after this visit.

THOR
I was all set to go home with my friend, Gina, but through no fault of ours, the adoption was canceled today, so we're both available now.

If you're looking for a beautiful, bonded pair, we may just be your ticket! I'm a purr machine and love to play, but am a lap sitter, too.

Ask about us and we may just be the best find this year!

TOBY
Yeah, I know. I'm a bit of a mixy kind of guy - not exactly obvious Siamese for those purists out there. Let's face it, if Maisy hadn't come into the program, I probably wouldn't even be in the program. But I'm a loverboy and sweetie. Sister Maisy and I had to leave our honme, and now we are in foster care. Maisy and I need to be adopted together, so please ask about her, too, if you inquire about me. Foster mom will have more pictures of us soon.

Purrs,
Toby

Notes from Home
Toby made himself at home the very first night. He climbed on my side and proceeded to knead and purr. He loves to sit in the sink and drink from the faucet. We have had to discourage this behavior in fear that he will figure how to turn the faucet on while we are gone. He loves to stretch out on Shanes lap and he takes up the entire lengt
h of his legs. He loves to be be wherever we are and will lie in the middle of the floor just to be near us. He is alot of fun and a little mischevious. We can not leave any cups or bowls out as he will knock it over.
It was truly meant for us to adopt Toby and Maisy. They are the perfect fit for us, and as much as they have made themselves at home we think we are perfect for them too.

Year 4, Toby is a very healthy boy. He has put on some extra weight the last year, but we will be discussing that with the vet with his yearly check up on Tuesday. He does NOT like the vet; he growls, hisses, swats, and bites. This year we have the mobile vet service so we are going to try his check up in the house where is is more comfortable and usually very friendly with strangers. Toby is very jealous of Maisy and we have issues with dominance that we have tried everything to eliminate. We have been able to reduce the incidence with a squirt bottle, but occasionally he still grabs maisy's neck. He loves to snuggle next to Shane on the couch while Maisy lays on his lap, so he does share sometimes. He does not purr very often or very loud but he is a kneader, which we love. Toby fetches, but he is very picky about the type of mice he plays with and we can not find any that the body is composed of rock. He does not care for the plastic bodied mice, so he doesn't play as often as he used to. He played with the rock mice so much there was nothing left but the fur. He loves to jump on top of the cabinets so we bought a cat tree, but he wont have anything to do with it. He still makes us laugh and we love him very much.

Unfortanetly we lost Toby a year ago on 11/11/2015 to complications from a heart condition that our vets did not catch until it was too late. Toby detested the vet, was a very contankerous patient, and would not tolerate a thorough exam, so its no wander his condition went unnoticed. We miss Toby and Maisy desperately but we still keep their memories near and dear to our hearts. After so much grief we thought about not adopting again, but many friends convinced us to not give up because we have so much love to give and there are so many in need. We now have 2 kitties from local shelters and love them with all of our hearts.
