Foster mom says Zuzu's petals represent love and a reminder of how precious life is and that is where she got my name. I am a bit people shy, but purr and lay my chin on foster mom's shoulder. I like to play and I really like other felines. I am like a little flower blossoming. My petals are opening to show my bright sunny middle. I really need a feline companion.

PS: This is my Meerkat imitation. Hold a feather duster in front of me and I will shawdow box with out you having to move it at all.

UPDATE: 6/27/07: I'm playing like a kitten, climbing like a monkey, running like a cheetah and developing good conversational skills with my new foster family. I'm just a happy Meezerette waiting on my furever home! If you need some excitement in your family, Asked About Me.

Notes from Home
Zuzu just celebrated her 5th anniversary in our home. She seems to be happy and healthy with her brother Merlin (previously IKE from VA Siamese Rescue).

Zuzu likes to play with her various crinkle or sparkle balls, as well as playing with her crochet wand (thank you Siamese rescue).

Zuzu has regular semi-annual vet visits, as she often accompanies Merlin who is now 13 and a half year old. The vet has given her a clean bill of health, but watches her knee joints and also her heart. When she first arrived, she was still under weight, and so had a heart murmur. This seems to have righted itself with a normal weight -- although the vet does think she could be a pound or two lighter.

Zuzu is a sweet, sweet girl and is quite the little purr machine. She is still not a lap kitty, but I think this may be related to Merlin who make it clear he was the dominant cat. Zuzu's human was my late husband Hank. He died just under two years ago. It was rough for all of us, but I think Zuzu had a harder time than Merlin because Merlin still viewed me as his person. I've worked hard to make sure that Zuzu knows she is loved just as much. She is very good with Merlin who has early kidney failure. Lately, she seems to be more attentive to his grooming, so I wonder if he is just getting lazy or if the kidney disease is progressing. Either way, she is a sweetheart who continues to bless our home.

Overall, everyone seems to be doing well.
Thank you Siamese Rescue for bringing us together.

Thanks for following up on Zuzu's eighth anniversary with me. Zuzu is doing great. I have continued with her semi-annual vet visits. She is definitely overweight, but the vet and I have her on a meal plan that is helping her lose weight at a safe rate. Our beloved Merlin crossed the rainbow bridge on April 19, 2015. It was peaceful passing and he had been ill for while, which Zuzu seemed to realize. Zuzu still went through a grieving process, but she has blossomed as an "only cat", as so many cats apparently do. For now, I am focusing on her and have no plans to adopt another kitty. Zuzu seems to be a competitive eater, and I've noticed big changes in her eating habits since she is the only cat. This is helping her with her weight problem. Now that I am not caring for Merlin, I am also making an extra effort to play with her more. Zuzu is much more social with me given that she does not have Merlin to engage with. Zuzu is still a little purr machine and now sleeps with me every night (instead of with Merlin). Overall, she seem to be happy and healthy, other than the weight issue which is improving slowly but surely. Cheers, ~Meom Michelle

I play with my sister and then I snuggle with her to sleep. We would make a really nice pair of kittens if we can stay together. No more than a one day transport for someone as little as I am.

Hi Everyone! Life is great for me Ashby and Gidget here in Maryland. They are both still very healthy and happy. A little on the chubby-side, I guess due to apartment living. They love to sun on my balcony.

I'm one handsome hunk of Meezer - long and lean, talkative and interactive, and very snuggly. How did a great guy like me end up in a shelter? Why, very simple. They got a new puppy and I didn't like him. So they kept that stupid puppy and took me on a quick trip to the shelter. Their loss can be your gain - ask about me!

Notes from Home

My name is Jack. I am three years old and found a great home in Connecticut. I am one "Meezer" among three "Geezers" (They are not Siamese). Mommy and Daddy lost their 17 year old boy, Q in March of 2010 and they missed having a Meezer around the house. My brother and sisters seem to be okay with me and I try to be a good boy around them. I am so happy. I am safe, comfortable and very much loved. I have only been in my forever home for less than two months and already I can tell that I am part of this great family. My Mommy and Daddy give me so much attention and they say that they will always love me.

I have been in my “forever” home for six months now. Mommy and Daddy say that I am a great boy and that I have brought great joy into their lives. I like to play with my Daddy as if he was a cat and sometimes I groom his entire face. My parents are considering a friend for me because my sister Lursa is 18 years old and will only play with me a little bit.
Everyone who meets me compliments me and tells me how beautiful I am. Daddy says that nobody loves me more than he does but Mommy tells me that she is in love with me.
Thanks to Auntie JoAnn and Auntie Jackie for finding me my “forever” home.

Well it is January 13, 2012 and Mom has decided to post some pictures of me. If you want to see what Mom and Dad's friend, Sal did to Dad's guitar, look at "Pictures from Home."

January 27, 2012 - Oh No! More pictures Mom? Mom's new camera flash with some natural sunlight.

July 8, 2012 - Tomorrow is my one year anniversary in my "forever" home. Mommy and Daddy adopted a brother for me. His name is Tiberius and comes from Virginia Center. He has been here since March 4, 2012. Mom and Dad lost two very old babies at the end of last year so they wanted me to have somebody to play with. My sister, Lursa will be 20 soon so I have one brother and one sister. Everything is great here and I am a happy guy. I hope that you will look at the most recent pictures of me. Mommy caught me and Tiberius taking a nap.

June 19, 2013 - Hi all. If I look familiar to you but you can’t place me, just get up and go look at your Siamese Rescue Calendar and feast your eyes upon “Mr. June 2013.” That’s right, that picture of me was taken within minutes of my arrival to my “forever” home almost two years ago. If you don’t believe me, just click on “Pictures from Home” and you will see that same picture. Oh, and I also want to let you all know that I am doing just great!

July 9, 2014. Today is my third anniversary in my forever home. All is great and I am a very happy guy. Mom and Dad are so grateful to all the volunteers who helped me along the way in getting here. Love, Jack

July 9, 2015 - Today is my fourth anniversary in my forever home. Mom and a Dad continue to be amazed at how good I am with other cats, and when people come over, I like to greet them. Sometimes I will even sit on their lap if I know that they like me. All is well. Love, Jack

Isn't anyone out there looking for a sweet, interactive gal who will greet you at the door when you come home from work? How about a gal who will follow you around the house telling you about her day and listen to you tell about yours? One that will hang out with you when you are reading or watching a movie? Those are just a couple of the things that I do best. If you ask about me Foster Mom will tell you all the things that make me special.

PS and my weight loss program is working! I'll be svelte before you know it!
Notes from Home
Wow we cannot believe a year has gone by already! We are happy to report that Theia is a well adjusted, healthy member of our family. She had her well lady exam two weeks ago and is down to 12 lbs. The vet is happy with this, as are we, so we are going to maintain that figure. She is susceptible to crystals in her urine. As such, she is on a prescription diet, and that is going very well for her. She is hilarious at meal time. While Miles (also from SCRC; he LOVES his food) is losing his mind waiting for his food, Theia waits calmly and patiently next to her meow-meow mat for her bowl. She knows it is coming and she figures a lady is supposed to be patient.

She still hates thunderstorms and hides in the basement under the stairs when one rolls through. She also has "stranger danger" and will hide when people she does not know are over. However, if they feed her, they are a-ok in her book!! Other than that, she wants to be around her family constantly. She has bonded a lot with Meowm, and spends most of the days in Meowm's office sleeping. When Meowm isn't working, she sits in her lap or snuggles next to her, and she sleeps every night next to Meowm as well. She also loves Paw Paw and will snuggle with him to watch a fishing show or two.

Theia loves to play fetch! She has this old, beat up leopard print ball that is so torn up we nicknamed it "ratty ball." She will bring her ball to us and place it at our feet, on our computers, on the couch, etc., and then she gives a single meow. She is quite good at it, and we think this exercise is one of the contributing factors to her weight loss. She also brings it to bed each night and sleeps with it. Yes, the ball is gross, but she loves it so much we cannot bear to toss it out. If the toys are put away, she will physically dig it out from the pile. She *loves* ratty ball!

She and Miles get along very well, although they will often tussle over, of all things, a sunbeam. They both love them and cannot figure out that there is typically more than one in which to lay in. Thankfully they have learned there are plenty of sunbeams to go around, so now they usually just lay in them together. Theia and Kitty still get along at a distance. Kitty is going on 18 years at this point, so she's not up for play with anyone.

Theia is the only cat I've ever encountered who loves a belly rub. She is quite funny, often rolling over and looking at you like "Hey...it's not gonna rub itself!!" So, we give her lots of belly rubs, and scritches. She also will turn her head around and look at you upside down. She's just such a funny cat.

I have attached some pictures of our quirky, sweet girl that we have taken over the past year. We are delighted to have her in our family. Thank you SCRC for helping Theia find her fur-ever home!!
Melanie and I.V.

Things are going REALLY well with Theia. She and Miles get along very well, and are constantly sniffing and chirping/meowing at one another. Mr Kitty will still hiss every now and again but there have been no paw swipes or aggression, and it doesn't seem to bother Theia a bit when Kitty is grumpy. For Kitty's part, Theia doesn't try to engage her at all, and that is fine by her. I think after Miles trying to engage her CONSTANTLY, Theia is a welcome change for Kitty :)

Theia has started settling into the daily routine around the house. All 3 cats are eating together in the morning, although Theia eats considerably less than Miles or Mr Kitty. She has also started to sit in laps the last couple of days. She often just sits on the floor or on a table in the family room, watching everyone, and she is a big fan of the toy mice. When we talk to her, she will often give a single meow back, and there are lots of headbutts, and purrs. We discovered last week that she does not like thunderstorms, and hides under the bed during them. Under the bed is her preferred sleeping location for daytime naps, and Miles will often join her. At night she sleeps in the bed with us. She passed her vet exam with flying colors, and is down below 14 lbs. Still has some weight to lose, but we are still heading in the right direction. She was VERY vocal en route to the vet as well as going home. She doesn't like the cat box at all.

So far, so good!! We are thrilled to have her as part of our family.
Melanie and I.V.

I am a shy seal boy looking for another kitten or young cat to be my playmate and a forever home. I need patience and time to adjust and foster mom is helping me with that. It will be at least a month before I can go home. I have to get big enough to have some type of surgery. Foster mom says it is important so I guess I will just wait to see. I

More to come as I grow and show more of my personality.

Notes from Home
This little guy is a ball of energy.
Finally he's decided that naps are good and does take frequent ones.
Have a little trouble with biting but he'll grow out of that.
Eats well, sleeps well. and as per usual, pet when tired.
Gets along with the other cats but moves way to fast for the older boys.
I think he's bonding well, using the big covered boxes without a problem, eating up a storm.
Happy little kitten.
Dobby has been so much fun! We were in Alaska at his 6 month anniversary. It was the first time we left him and he let us know he was not happy when we got home! He has gained 8 pounds in 6 months. Needless to say he loves to eat everything and anything and we are trying to keep him from overeating. He is an active and confident young cat. At 11 pounds it's hard to think of him as a kitten. He and San Remo are best buddies. Dolchedo usually doesn't pay much attention to him. Summer thinks he is a pain and he loves to chase her! He likes to be with us and is very interactive and talkative, but is not a cuddle boy- too busy!!!
He had a recent vet visit because we were concerned with his panting when he plays or gets excited. Poor little guy has athsma!!. It is mild enough that he does not need treatment for now and it doesn't slow him down. We love our little guy. He has been a good addition to the cat family.

Are you a special adopter? One who can appreciate my Tortie-tude and non-stop activities; and overlook my teeny imperfections because I'm so stunningly beautiful to look at? Summer is making progress, only took her a month to figure out the cat door. Goes out with her foot and her ear.
Shes a doll, reminds us so much of Cayuga, i guess kittens have all the same mannerisms, shes still special. One of these days she'll become a cat.

Summer is a little white streak of energy! She's always up for a new adventure. She thinks her name is Summer,NO!. She stops bad behavior when caught, but never promises not to do it again. Her 3 older siamese brothers all play with her- even the 17 year old. San Remo is her partner in crime.
We are working on the scratching and standing to use her litter box but haven't seen much change since we have had her. She sleeps with us and will let us pet her but she is not a cuddle cat.
She is up and going by 6am and doesn't stop until mid afternoon. Is that normal for a cat not to nap?
We love her to pieces-bad behavior and all. She is just too cute and very entertaining.
3 years with Summer. WOW! She is just as cute now as the day she arrived. She has calmed down some but not by her choice. She spends her time avoiding her annoying little brother Dobby. We forgot to ask her if she wanted a playmate. He is a pain right in her tortie!!!! She causes half of the ruckus with her drama!
Our only concern with her is keeping her from getting stressed because she will get her sterille systitislike the time we tried to giver her hairball meds! Can you tell who runs the show around here? Mani-pedis are a no-no too. We love our wacky little girl.

Oh my major love cat!!!! I'm very easy going, happy go lucky, friendly and cuddly, and adjusted immediately. Nothing not to like here! And if you have any catnip toys, nope, they are not safe from me! I love to snuggle and cuddle, and watch hopefully that you will choose me to give your attention to!!!!

Hello all! This afternoon we took Capone to the see vet for a check up and everything looked normal, with the exception of his ears being dirty. The vet said we should keep an eye on it but don't need to do anything further at this point in time. Capone weighed in at 13.4lbs. He's settling in very well, He likes to explore everything, jump up on counters/tables, follow us around, play with his toys and of course eat :)

I am outgoing and a very sweet boy. I like to explore, I like to purr and I am learning all about toys - I really like these things called balls - they roll around and I get to chase them. Wand toys are fun too - I bat those around like crazy. I would do well around other kitties as long as they know how to play rough and tumble with. I really like people and I am learning all about being a lap cat and I think that will be my future career! I initially did not like the dog here but I am now getting used to him so I will be OK with a dog that will respect me and give me my space to get to know them first.

Nikolaka is fabulous. The very first night we had him (in isolation) I slept in the guest room with him and he climbed under the covers and spooned all night. It was great. He is out of isolation now and for the most part all has been good. He still hisses a little but no real altercations. Akoni did let him know who was boss once and now he gives Akoni a wide berth. He and Panihaka play all the time. He is a little rougher than Panihaka would like but I think that will improve with time. Unfortunately Torin (now deceased) taught Panihaka and Akoni to scratch on the couch and now they have taught Nikolaka. My couch is down to the wood on spots but I have no idea how to get them to stop this. The other day Nikolaka found a new cat toy to play with, urine balls from the litter box. :( But it only happened one day and we are hoping he has discovered many other toys to paly with now. I am currently in an airport heading home so I will add pictures later.

7/7/15 - Nikolaka is doing great. Panihaka has lost weight since he now has someone to play hard with. Akoni is no longer beating up Panihaka. Akoni is still alpha but now he has someone to challenge him from time to time. They all love to play together. None of the cats snuggle together yet but I think that will change when winter hits. For now, all is good.

Hi! Joey here.

I had a rough start, but am feeling so much better now and love to come out of my playpen and play with the other fella's here. Do you have another playful, (but not agressive) boy at home that would like a playmate? Maybe I'd be a good fit.

I'm a bit shy at first, but with soft words and some scritches I warm up really fast, so maybe a quieter home would be best for me. Meowmy watched me on the cam camera and said she was so suprised at how much I like to play, but still get a little shy when strangers come into the room, but I am saying hello to them now.

Meowmy said it's my turn to go home. All my buddies found their forever home, but I'm still here. I'm young, playful, healthy, and handsome. Why wouldn't you want a sweet boy like me????

Rango is doing so well in our home. He is at home too...we know this because he loves eating his food, loves playing in the family room, loves coming for treats, and loves to purr and sleep with us on the bed at night. He still runs from my daughter (18 months old) when she is loud or comes after him, but if she's eating at the table he is brave enough to come into the room and hang out a bit. He is so loving and sits in my lap in the evening if I'm on the floor doing something. He is gentle (he has let my daughter pet him) and he didn't nip or swat. He is adorable. He's quiet. We feel like we really won the cat jackpot with him. His ONLY quirk so far is that he will chew on shoes...so we have to be better at putting them away. We are so happy with Rango!
He also is still learning to get a long with his brother Riley (VA3176)...sometimes we have to break up play fighting that gets a little too out of hand, but they are starting to lick each other so I think that's a great sign.
Update 1/7/14: Rango continues to be perfect -he has adjusted so well in our house. He loves to be with the family, he follows me around...he's like a little dog! He lets my toddler give him pets and quick hugs...she loves him (and our other flame boy). He has made losing my old cat girl so much easier since he brings me happiness everyday.

1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY (a afew days late 7/18/14)... Rango is still happy and perfect. We have also had a new baby enter our family so in addition to that change plus already living with a toddler he still amazes us how GOOD he is around the kids. Has never hissed, scratched or done anything aggressive to them or anyone. He enjoys playing with his cat brother...they horse around just about every day. He was also 12 lbs at his last vet appointment. He loves to eat and put on a good bit of weight in a year.
2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Rango is still a laid back, well fed and soft furred, all around great cat. He is a family cat, doesn't want to be touched by the kids, and runs away if they spook him, but in general is happy to share his home with him. He's never shown any aggression to them or anyone! He sleeps in our bed most nights, come in the bathroom to sit with me while I shower and get ready for the day. He and his flame brother love to wrestle-we are always picking up cat fluff off the carpet. We just love Rango!

I've sure been through a lot lately. I was taken to a shelter with my mom and aftter a long stay we were adopted by a nice lady. Then she adopted a few more kittens and realized that there were too many of us for her to care for properly so she returned all of us. I know I didn't do anything wrong but there I was, back in the shelter. Lucky for me they called Siamese Rescue. Foster mom says I'm a lover and that's why she calls me Cassanova. She says my big blue eyes melt her heart, and that's good because that's exactly what I was going for. UPDATE: I'm out of isolation now and I just love being with the other cats! I will have to have a home where there is at least one other cat to play with. I'm sweet and well-mannered, handsome and easy going--what more could you ask for?! Love, Cassanova Foster: Carole Congrats Peggy in SC!
