Notes from Home
Cinnamon is settling in extremely well. He and Honey are very compatible and spend much of the day chasing each other around. He loves to be brushed and adored by his humans, so his fur is looking amazing :) He had a clean bill of health from our vet. His most favorite thing to do is to hang out with his mom in her office in his cat tower.
What a love bunny he is!

Cinnamon is fully integrated into our home and just loves his human and furry siblings. He and Honey are constant playmates, and he is now absolutely obsessed with our black lab, Hades. He is constantly pestering Hades to be groomed by him! Cinnamon is a very happy Siamese.

AMI
Big changes have been coming my way!!!
I started out as a "free" unspayed Siamese cat on a popular online classified website.
Lucky for me a nice young lady scooped me up so I wouldn't be turned into a cheap way to make some money (aka "who's your pimp").
I never even had a name!!! It's really not known what kind of life I had but it's suspected it wasn't very good.
I'm a very tiny petite little girl and will take some time to warm up. This caregiver person who has been totally spoiling me has made tons of progress and I'm starting to like her. I have a tiny little meow - no big meezer voice from me.
I won't be ready to go home until mid-December as I still have to have my spaygery.
I'm told I get to meet the resident cats soon...I've seen the big orange boy and he looks pretty cool. He's like twice my size!!! I'm also told there is this thing called Thanksgiving coming up - I do like turkey and I do have a lot to be thankful for!!

Notes from Home
This is a long-overdue update for Ami and Rocco! They are doing very well and constantly getting into mischief. They like to run amok and chase each other and have terrorized the Christmas tree and ornaments. It's a blast having them around. And... Ami has become a lap cat! Most of the time she is nearby or next to me, but sometimes she gets right into my lap. She "tested" me for months by walking over me instead of jumping over, or stepping on me for a few seconds to see what would happen. Rocco is also a lap cat, but he's always so active, it doesn't usually last long. He really loves my roommate. Ami, of course, took months to adjust. It's really funny to see her outsmart Rocco and find hiding places when he's chasing her. She'll access the top of the entertainment center from the staircase right behind it, and crouch down when he comes running down the stairs after her, and then she looks around to see if he's gone. Rocco plays with toys all the time, but Ami only a little. Mostly, she likes to nap. They sleep on my bed many nights except when they're running through the house while everyone else is trying to sleep. No health problems and they eat really well. Ami can "speak" on command and Rocco will "stand" for a treat. He warbles a lot but I can't get him to speak on command. They're both really special.

IMANI THE GENIE
This look is just my opinion of shelter life. I am really as sweet as can be. Picking me up is like pushing my purr button. I purr just because also. I really like to play. I like other cats. That huge dog is okay. I am ready to go home! It could be me and you for the holidays!

Notes from Home
We are now using the name Jeannie because of her ability to disappear and reappear out of thin air. But, mostly, because my Mom can't remember Imani. She is still playing with some of her toys but spends most of her time playing with Tamlin. She is proving to be a bit of a gluten. Probable left over from her days in the wild. She got a minor case of diarrhea when she got a hold of a piece of spice chicken. She is not so quick to grab anything that might be food now.

After a brief spell of diarrhea, both Imani and Tamlin have settled in to the new routine. Imani is talking more but she is very soft spoken with a mixture of purring and meowing. She still eats as if she is starving. While Tamlin is spoiled and eats when he feels like it, leaving a lot of food behind. I'm working out a routine to keep Imani from turning into a butterball. She stilling playing with the wands and the twisty pipe cleaners and she tends to gently bit when playing with me but no serious marks. While Imani keeps Tamlin active, he is teaching her to climb. They are both, currently, on top of a china closet within a foot of the ceiling. Tamlin's long body make climbing a breeze, Imani tends tends to just barely catch her holds. Kind of like a basketball bouncing on the rim of the hoop before going in. I'll keep you updated as things go.

Imani's one year anniversary is here. She is now firmly settled in... so settled she is leaving dents in the cushions. She loves her status as house cat. Even when she might have an opportunity to seek she doesn't. Watching the world go by seems to be her style now. Imani has found a comfy seat at all the big windows in the house. As a result she has gotten rather rolly polly. Still at a loss how to get her weight down, but we are still working at it.

It's the new year. We are all doing fine. Imani is doing great, she has taken a laid back position about life. spends a lot of time looking out the windows (One window for each side of the house) which she rotates through. She starts at 6am in the morning when I get up for work (windows must be open ). Sleeps most of the day between window sitting. Then has crazy time in the evening which involves high speed maneuvers and wrestling matches with Tamlin. Despite all the window gazing she shows no inclination to poke her head out the door, unlike Tamlin. She's still rolly-polly, mostly because my mother still sneeks her food. We have cut out her dry food and portioned out her wet food, which she is not happy about. Still, the Doc says she is a healthy kitty (although fat) and the only cat content to lounge around on a vet's exam table as if it were a luxury suit. Happy New Year! We sure could use one.

BUTTON
I'm the original purr-baby! Look at me? Purrrrrrr. Talk to me? Purrrrrrr. Hold me? Purrrrr. I'm beginning to play with toys and I love to snuggle. I have mastered the box thing with funny dirt and fostermom says my appetite is truly amazing. I don't know about that. I just like my food, a lot. My favorite game is bunny-kicking. I'm very good at it. Would you like to adopt me?
Purrrrrs,
Kitsuumi

SWEETIE PIE
Just arrived and still getting used to things but so far so good! I do need to stay inside my transport area and will need a boy kitty playmate. I should be ready to go home sometime in July. If you think you might be interested in adding me to your family, you better ask about me quick!

Notes from Home
Sweetie is fitting in quite nicely to our family. She is still teething so she is chewing on everything in sight including the other cat and dog. She has a BIG appetite and has a typical kitten's curiosity for everything. She has learned quickly how to deal with both the older cat as well as the rambunctious dog.

Sweetie is doing great. I could not have asked for a better fit for my home. She is a little rascal getting into everything she isn't supposed to which is cute and annoying at the same time : ) She recently has started to try lap sitting - yeah!! I tried to change her name, but she seemed to like it the best so we tweaked it and instead of Miss Sweetie she has become Sweetie Pie.

MAXIMUS
UPDATE 8/19 What????? I'm still here? I'm getting pretty accustomed to things, better come and snatch me up soon, so I don't get too comfortable.

I'm a sensitive, gentle, soulful guy, I love being petted and I love toys. I'd rather have a home without so much action, so I can relax.
I've got so much love to give. I am skittish with strangers in the house, and I'll probably 'head for the hills' if it happens a lot. On the other hand, if it is just you and me (or two parents) I will follow you around like a DOG! I will beg for attention and I know you cannot resist me!

Just a QUIET place to relax and enjoy life, is all I need.

Hi,
We absolutely love our Maximus. He is the most loveable and sweetest kitty. Right now he is taking a nap. He and Poo Yen are tolerating each other (better than hissing). He has the run of the house now and sleeps with us.
He loves looking out of the windows and has a lot of interest in our cockatiel.
This is the second cat we have adopted from you and are extremely happy with both. We lost our last one after 12 years due to a cancerous tumor. Maximus has helped us along with Poo Yen.
Thank you for all that you have done.
Dee and Alan Gudroe

UPDATE: Maximus is doing great and has made himself right at home. He gets along OK with our other Siamese cat. Maximus loves going out on our enclosed sun room and watching the birds & squirrels through the windows outside. He is very playful and we have had no problems with him at all. He has fit right in.
Alan & Dee Gudroe

1 Year Update: Maximus has been with us for a year now. He loves his home and we love him. He had his yearly check-up at the vet & got all his shots. He is in fine health. Uploading a picture of him at Christmas.

Notes from Home
In some ways, it seems that Iris only came to live with us a few months ago. In other ways, it feels like a lifetime that she has been with us. She is definitely top cat of the four we now have. She instantly welcomed the new girls, Gwen, April and Flora, but was slower to warm up to a little boy Rhys a few years ago. Unfortunately, we lost Rhys to wet FIP when he was only nine months old, almost exactly two years ago.
Iris further endeared herself to us when she helped take care of Flora when we brought her home from Peru in March, continuing when Flora was diagnosed with wet FIP in May. Iris continued to be a nursemaid to Flora after we got her in the drug trial at UC Davis. Iris has been our rock during the roller coaster ride, and she deserves as much of the credit for Flora's success as the trial drug for Flora's remission/cure. In fact, they were snuggling together on the bed by me when I woke up this morning.
It is impossible to put in words how much we love Iris and what a wonderful cat she is. She is a perfect lady, and we will be forever grateful to SCRC for bringing us together.

Please see update and pictures for both girls on Dinah's Update Form.

2/26/16: Phoebe was just tested with a combo FeLeuk test and the result? NEGATIVE, just as I felt when I was first notified of her exposure to a kitty in foster care at the same time who later tested positive. My heart and prayers go out to this kitty's adoptive family. I have been where they are now.

7/11/16: Please see the 6-month update for Phoebe on Dinah's page.

Christmas 2016: Please see the update for both kitties on Dinah's page.
