Hi! I'm Loki. I was trapped from a feral colony and got into Siamese Rescue when Meowmy spotted me at her work in the trap. I'm learning all about living indoors, and it is a bit overwhelming sometimes, but I purr when Meowmy pets me, and each day I relax more.

Do you have a quiet home and patience to help me get brave around people?

If so, maybe I'd be a good fit for you. Ask about me and we can discuss it a bit.

Notes from Home
The Meezer Express got Loki & Milo from Roanoke, VA to New Castle, DE. After a grueling 11 hr trip through traffic tie-ups and construction zones, we finally got them to our home north of Augusta, ME at 1:30 AM on Oct 26th. Poor Milo cried non-stop for the last two hours. He had had enough! They both got the big payoff when we finally got home! Initially they both went into hiding. Although my office is not large, it took me quite a while to find Loki the next morning: he had worked himself into the middle of a rolled up blanked high up on a shelf cubby hole! By the fourth day, they were both purring in my lap and every day, every hour, brings new progress. They love their strokes, but every morning it was starting all over again, reintroducing ourselves and getting them out of hiding. Now, day 8, they don't run when we enter the room, but Loki, the more wary of the two, still needs to sniff my hand before coming out from behind chairs. When he does, it's instant purrs. Milo will only bolt if they're in the middle of a play session. Otherwise, he's an easy pick up.

They boys are great together. They romp and play and sometimes sleep together. One one gets in my lap, the other wants there, too. So cute! They are growing like weeds! After 8 days with us and the size change is remarkable. They eat like pigs! Fortunately, in spite of being in isolation, they are getting a lot of exercise, too.

Friday is the big vet day - out to see the world. After that, probably Saturday, they will get to explore the rest of the house and meet their big brother, Barry. Barry will get chance to check their room out while the kids are at the vet. We want to make sure Loki & Milo are very comfortable with us before releasing them to the whole house. It's large and open concept - we want to make sure we can monitor their progress and not hide away on us. They've come so far so quickly and are socializing beautifully. It's a testament to their wonderful foster, Jeanne. Thanks to all of the folks who help to make this possible!

Yesterday was the big outie day when they got to explore outside their room for the first time. Previously on our trip to the vet, both boys checked out very well, but they still had a little lingering conjunctivitis, so our vet suggested keeping them in isolation for four more days. Then the world changed. What had formally been a very secure space was now open to the world. Their first steps outside where exceedingly tentative. They might take a few steps beyond the door and then immediately bolt back into the room and into hiding. They suddenly didn't know me any longer. All day continued this way. We had to leave for a dinner in Portland (an hour and a half away) and didn't return until much later in the evening. This was a good thing: the boys got to explore on their own in a very quiet house for hours. I think it helped a lot. By this morning they were still very shy, but as the day progressed they got a little more bold. Milo is definitely the adventure cat, roaming long distances before heading back to safety. Poor Loki is still very shy. This is a gym day for us so we are gone for four hours in the middle of the day. What a difference on our return! Even Loki is venturing out and Milo goes everywhere. Both are willing to play in new spaces, too. It's all so very encouraging!

They have now met Barry, out 11 yr old Meezer. Actually, they met a few days before when Barry came into their room. Their first meeting was greeted by a tiny hiss and they dutifully backed off as Barry checked out their space; their second received no recrimination, but Barry backed off their probing with a stare. It's all been too much for Barry and he would quickly depart. Now that they are free to roam in his space, Barry seemingly tries to remain indifferent, but he responds at a distance when Milo sends out a cry. Milo is very chirpy, too. I think things are moving in the right direction and it won't be long before we have full acceptance. It's such a joy to watch the interplay and how well everyone is adapting.

Nov. 18, '15
What a difference a day made. The next day, I could see the light bulb go off in Loki's head: he finally knew who I was. He might run for a couple of steps, then stop, turn around, and go to ground waiting to be picked up. Now, several days later, both Milo and Loki will rub against my legs wanting to be picked up. Once we get in cuddle mode, either one doesn't want to stop and usually, it both at the same time.

Barry is still stand-offish, but the little guys will occasionally touch noses with him. Milo has taken to climbing into Barry's bed with him for a snooze and all is well. Barry will not initiate this yet. It's only a matter of time though. Milo keeps pushing the envelope. Check out the pics of each.

Nov. 22, '15

I can pretty much say now that both Loki & Milo are fully integrated. They run the house up and down on three floors at full speed. They will jump in my lap (both at the same time) when they want a snuzzing and they come running when it's dinner time. They now sleep with us in bed, too. They have completely taken over. Poor Barry still try's to ignore them, but it's getting ever more difficult. The kids do give him respectful distance, but Milo is forever pushing the direct contact envelope. I've now seen Loki liking Barry's head as well. Neighbors came over for dinner a couple of nights ago and after the initial scatter, they both came out to play and tussle. They are both real charmers!

For a little guy, I sure am full of sass. I'm not so sure if foster mom means me harm or not, so for now I'm keeping my defenses up! Pebbles just became my new roommate. She's the one in the front. She's kinda cute, isn't she? It would be great for us to be able to stick together if we could.

11/30 update: I'm still learning about humans and still very scared. Foster mom thinks I'll come around eventually. It seems I've gotten a little skin irritation in the last week, too, that I need to get over. So for now, we're not sure what kind of home we need to go to. We'll let you know when we know more!

Notes from Home
Bam Bam was diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma in Aug on Saturday he lost his battle. I will forever be grateful for the the years I had with him. Thank you for the opportunity to bring him into my home and provide him a place where he could be loved and feel safe. The project kitty turned into a big love bug and I was lucky to have been able to adopt him and Pebbles (and Chickadee too). Rowan, Chick and I will have an empty space in our heart and on the bed at night. Courtney

Notes from Home
Six months already? I can't remember when Missy was not part of our lives. She is a regular mischief maker. Leave anything on any surface that Missy can reach and she up there throwing things on the floor. Once they're on the floor, she delights in playing with them and if possible throwing them around. We've learned to keep our surfaces clear of any breakable objects.

Most days Missy sits for hours at the window in my office and checks out the critters that come to eat the seeds that fall from our bird feeder. She begs to go outdoors and stands by the door hoping this time I will let her out and is sooo disappointed when I deny her wish. I did get a leash to allow her outdoor walks but she lays on the ground and refuses to walk with me, so I carry her around in the fresh air. I wonder how long she lived outdoors before she was found because she definitely has the "hunter" instinct. She'll even play with a spider in the house when she finds one.

She does like to eat and I think has gained some weight since she arrived. We are trying very hard to feed her only twice a day and only the amount the Vet says she needs. She gets some treats, only a few Greenies, once a day. But anytime I open the refrigerator, there she is begging for food, even if she's just finished her meal. I'm hoping with time, this behavior will fade out.

She's still not a "lap cat" but now tolerates my holding her and petting her while she's on my lap for about 10 minutes. She likes to snuggle next to us and during the winter months, if we are under a throw blanket, she will crawl under it with us.

She takes a while to warm up to strangers and often when there are visitors in the house she will hide, especially if the visitors include a young child trying to pick her up. We love this beautiful animal and are grateful to all the folks who helped bring Missy into our lives. She keeps us laughing and delighted by her antics. It is a absolute joy to share our lives with Missy.

It's been one year since Missy first came into our lives. My how time flies. I'm happy to report that our mischievous Missy is in excellent health but needs to lose some weight, according to the Vet who saw her last week. Missy has gained 3 pounds since we got her a year ago, She's become a little more picky about what she eats now that she's used to being fed regularly, but if it's one of her favorites, she will eat as much as is available. The Vet has admonished us and told us that will have to resist feeding our feisty girl, except at mealtimes, regardless of her antics and begging. Not such an easy task. She loves cantaloupe and whenever I am eating it she will be right next to me bagging me to give her some. Does anyone else know of a cat that loves cantaloupe? The Vet said to expect her to misbehave for a while when we cut down on her treats and only feed her at mealtimes. He did say she could still have her favorite Greenie treats but not too many.

Missy has changed so much since we first brought her home. She's become much more friendly towards strangers and when we have guests she no longer hides, but comes close and even allows our guests to pet and play with her. She is a very playful creature and when she wants to play she can become pretty insistent by dragging her toys to where ever we are and annoying us until we give in and play with her. Her favorite toy is a stuffed porcupine. She plays pretty rough with it so I've had to repair it several times. She still loves her paper bags, but only if you interact with her and poke the bag so she can reach out ant try to get what ever you are using to poke, including your hand, so we have to be careful. If the paper bag is on the kitchen floor, she will run at it from a distance and slide into it propelling it across the floor for several feet. She's such fun to watch when she's in a playful mood, which is often.

She's still not a "lap cat" although she will sit on my lap for five or six minutes if I continuously scratch her neck and she doesn't really like being picked up. but she does like to snuggle next to us when we are sitting on the couch reading or watching TV. Missy loves being brushed and will even let me brush her belly when she's relaxed. My last cat purred all the time and her purr was very loud, almost like an engine running. Missy purrs infrequently and then very quietly. Sometimes the only way I know she's purring is when I feel her throat vibrating.

Missy still loves to sit by the window and watch the wildlife, birds, squirrels and chipmunks, that frequent our yard. She has a frequent suitor, a black and white cat who sits outside the window staring at her. She hisses whenever he comes to call. I do take her outside on a leash. She has learned how to walk on the leash and I usually don't need to carry her around now, but we have never encountered her suitor when we are outdoors.. I'm not sure how she would react. Not sure I want to find out either.

Missy has brightened our lives in so many ways. Thanks again to all the people that enabled her to be part of our lives.

Notes from Home

Izzy is making herself at home. We have all fallen in love with her, she is playful and very affectionate. She runs through the house playing with all of her toys, and at times sounds like an elephant wizzing by. She has taken the heart of my husband, the family member that is tough to win over. she loves up to him, and he enjoys her. Sohpia and Izzy have met, although Sophia has not warmed up as quickly as I had thought. They ignor each other most of the time, with Izzy trying to get Sophia to play. I am hoping Sophia will warm up to her soon.

Izzy is a part of our family and we enjoy having a baby in our house. She is a great addition to our family!

Young, shy and inexperienced. I need time, loving and attention, and I'll become a blue eyed wonder gal! I love other cats, I'm a little inexperienced with people but not bad. A quieter household with another cat would be ideal for me!

Hello I have been in my forever home for five years now and I love it. I have moved since I was adopted and now live in my own home. I live with my adopter and my friend, Tia, a ten year old tortoise shell. She and I get along most of the time. There are times when I want to play and she just wants to left alone. My new name is Meesa which is short for Siamese, ha ha!.

I am a teeny, tiny girl dumped at the shelter because I had the *nerve* to have a litter of mixed kittens! They found a home, and now it's my turn. I was there long enough though to pick up that shelter cold, so I'm not feeling my best. Foster mom says not to be upset that my owners didn't want me - that this time I'm going to find a place that will want me forever! Will that be you? I've very affectionate, very nosey, and ignore other cats. Better pictures coming soon - I'm kind of skinny right now, between having kittens and being sick I haven't been eating well. When I'm eating better, then I'll go to the vet to get spayed, and will be all ready for the great home foster mom has promised me.
Notes from Home
Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014: Aubree had a great trip on the Meezer Express. When we brought her home, we thought she might like to get used to a smaller space. We put her carrier, litter box, and food/water into one of our bedrooms. Our family of four gathered in the room to see how she would respond to us. We opened the carrier door and the rest is history. She climbed out of the carrier, began exploring, trilling, taking sips of water. After 30 minutes, we let her out of the bedroom and she began exploring the house. Seemed like she'd been here since kittenhood. . . She is very comfortable with our family, loves to be held, scratched under her chin. She's used her scratching post a couple of times, too. Aubree is lively, nosy, interactive, happy. What a great match for our family and Aubree!

Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014: Aubree celebrated her two week anniversary at our home. All is well. She eats, sleeps and uses her litterbox like a trooper. She is very fond of my older son and sleeps in his bed every night (when she is not sleeping or playing in a cardboard box). Aubree loves looking out the window and keeping her eyes on squirrels. She received a kitty condo for Christmas, which we think she'll love.
We had a number of visitors over Christmas and Aubree wants to know everyone. She is very friendly.
We brought Aubree to our vet today. She checked out very well. Healthy and a good weight (6.84 lbs). The vet cleaned out some wax from her ears but, otherwise, she is doing super well. The vet did a blood draw so we can get her baseline numbers. Will get results in a couple of days.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015: Aubree is loving her first six weeks at our home. She continues to be healthy, confident, talkative (especially at 5:00 am for breakfast), and curious. This cat enjoys being held more than any other pet we've had. We picked a winner! Aubree loves our family as well as visitors that come to the house. These days she is fond of cardboard boxes and sits in them for a good time. Aubree loves high places and we bought a kitty condo for her to enjoy. She is so social and loving. She is also a little piglet with her eating so we have to be careful with doling out her food.

Friday, November 20, 2015: Almost one year since we brought Aubree home. How can a match be so perfect? Aubree has thrived in her first year in our home. She trills and wags her tail, makes friends with everyone who enters our house, and has a best friend in my 10 year old son. Aubree has gained a bit of weight, has had a few teeth extractions, but otherwise she is healthy and happy. We are considering another cat since we love Siamese so much. Not sure if Aubree is willing to share us with another cat, but we will see.

Why don't you ask about me??? I am looking for my very own person to love.

I am really sweet (and cute, too). If you give me a forever home I promise to:

Run to meet you when you come home
Ask for lots of back scratches and belly rubs
Do headstands while you pet me
Purr and talk to you in a very nice voice
Keep you company all the time

Because something very sad happened to my family I had to come back to Siamese Rescue. So now I need a new forever home.

If you have a home that is kind of quiet, and a heart big enough for me to fit in, I would love to own you.

Notes from Home
What a joy Haley is! I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to adopt her. She is so sweet and loving. The entire adoption process went so smoothly, what a terrific organization.
Wow, one month already! Haley is doing terrific, what a lover she is! Thanks for a great experience.

Well 6 months have past and I must say all is well with Haley and I. She as adapted well and is thriving.
Her appetite has increased and she has run of the house. She is now enjoying the enclosed porch and on sunny days she soaks up the sun in her "chair" She has found her voice and is quite vocal, chatting away at me when I get home from work or when I wake up in the morning. Most nights she sleeps with me, wrapped around my head. No bad habits to speak of. I bought her a 6' cat tower so she has a better view of the yard and the bird feeder. Again the entire experience was terrific and I am greatful. Thank you!!

Wow 2 years! Haley is doing great, has a great appetite, still has run of the house, has a favourite new toy, a stuffed catnip pepper, has already destroyed one and is on to her second one. Still a lover, will tap your shoulder if you are not paying attention to her. Still sleeps with me on my head. Loves my Mom, who comes to visit her when I work late. I am so lucky to have adopted her. Thank you!

Wow, 3 year's! It just flies by. Haley is doing great! Good appetite, and continued run of the house. Visits the vet regularly, her health is great, steady weight around 7-8 lbs, sleeps with me every night, as a hat wrapped around my head. Loves to play, talks constantly and is just a wonderful companion. I doubt I could love her more than I do. Thank you so much!

This 4 year anniversary finds Haley and I doing fantastic! She is a happy little girl, loves to play, run through the house and watch the birds from her window seat. She has a great appetite and enjoys some treats. She is a wonderful companion, follows me everywhere, and of course sleeps with me most nights, either wrapped around my head, or a new spot as my personal scarf and sleeps wrapped around my neck. Could not be happier with Haley or with the SRC. Thank you so much again!!

Hi, I'm Justice. I was turned in to animal control when my family couldn't care for me anymore. It might take a few days, but once you get to know me, I'm a really nice guy. I'm happy to snooze beside you and enjoy a nice comfy, laidback life. I get along fine with other male kitties, but I don't really like the girls. Maybe it's because I so close to my brother who I had to leave behind... I have great litterbox habits, and I have a cute squeaky voice. Adopt me... help me live up to my name!

I can't believe it has been a month already! He has adjusted so well to his new home and loves to have the run of the place. He is such a cuddle bug and always finds his place right next to me.

Still petite. Still the ultimate workout partner. Still a total lovebug. Still waiting for my person!

Will you be my person? If you want a gorgeous girl who is totally devoted to you, I'm yours! I've gotten to be friends with the other cats here, but I still love my person best. I hope you have a pillow big enough for both of us, because I'll want to snuggle very close. I will follow you anywhere you go, and only speak up when I'm missing out on any fun that's happening in my house. I like to run and chase with my feline friend, then snuggle close with my humans. I'll even let you carry me around - I am a beautiful, light weight accessory to compliment any outfit!

I'm the Pet of the Week on my local TV station, so you should ask about me now. I'm a star!

11/15/11 Just wanted to let you know that Uli acts like she has always been here. She had visitors last night and loved every minute of it. I've told everyone how sweet, funny, lovable and friendly she is. She loves sitting in the bay window watching the birds, squirrels and leaves blowing. She's eating good, listens very well and is just a joy.

Thank you all and as soon as I can I will send pictures, she's a real ham. She's completely settled in and very happy as are we that we have her.

We are taking good care of each other.

We are completely settled in and Uli is amazing! She is very playful in the mornings after breakfast. She takes her nap and then gets a few treats and it's off to the bay window to see what's going on outside in the backyard. She loves watching the squirrels and birds. Then it's off to play some more with her spring toys. She just loves them and will come tell us if one has gone under the furniture.

She loves to be petted and brushed and the evenings she sleeps in our laps. She is so sweet and funny. Love her, love her. Thank you all so much. Oh, Uli says "HELLO". Hope you all have a wonderful holiday, we will.

Shirley, Tony & Uli

May 13, 2012

Time flies and it's been six months since Uli came to us. Her coloring has changed and she has gained a little weight. Not fat, just very healthy. She is very affectionate and now loves to sit on my shoulder and rub my head with hers. She is very playful and makes me laugh at her antics constantly. She loves everyone that comes to visit, making herself the center of attention. She loves to be brushed. We are so happy she is a part of our family. Hope to send pictures soon.

Uli, Shirley & Tony

It's me Uli and I have celebrated my 1 year anniversary in my forever home. I just love Meow Ma & Pa and they love me. I'm well taken care of and my new home has lots of windows and a sun porch where I can look out and watch the birds, squirrels and rabbits. Meow Ma cooks chicken and turkey legs and thighs to compliment my dry and can food.
I love to play hide and go seek with Meow Ma. She such fun. I love when she brushes me and gives me my weekly pedicure. She calls me her ray of sunshine. How cool is that? We are the perfect fit. I spend most of my time following Meow Ma around or in the evenings snuggled in her lap. I get on the back of Meow Pa's recliner and rub his head. He loves it. Life is so good!!!
I have a Christmas wish that every cat/dog finds a forever home filled with love like I have. Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Just celebrated my 2nd anniversary. Meow Ma & Pa celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary yesterday. Lots to celebrate but much sadness also. Meow Pa has been quite ill over the last few years and has now been diagnosed with brain cancer. Our life together has been wonderful until we got this news. I try to make him feel better by getting on the back of his recliner and rubbing my head against his or just gently patting his head. He likes that. I love him and he loves me and we just sit together.

They are wonderful and make sure I have good healthy food and lots of toys. Meow Ma is trying so hard to take good care of Meow Pa and me. She tells my everything and I give her head bumps and lots of kisses. She says we will get thru this best we can because we have each other.

I love them both very much and they love me and that's all that matters. Life is good even when it's bad. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Wow, 4 years have flown by so quickly. Uli is such a beautiful girl. Now that it is only the two of us we are as close as two peas in a pod. Uli is very healthy and happy, she brightens every day with her kisses and playfulness. She has changed color and is darker. She loves to be groomed. She is just a love bug. Thank you for my little ANGEl. Uli said to wish everyone a wonderful and happy holiday season. T
