TANUKI
I am a rough and tumble boy who loves to play hard and rarely stops. I will need someone who can teach me some manners, as well as feline playmate who likes to play hard. Don't get me wrong, I love to purr and I will purr the whole time I'm gnawing on your hand!

If you like rough housing and boy play, ask about me!

Notes from Home
Tanuki aka Peanut, is doing great. He has been to the vet twice now and all is good. Vet suggested stop feeding kitten food and probiotic to stop diarrhea and it cleared up over night. He has had his first bath here and actually likes the water. He is a total ball of energy, the vet thinks he has ADHD, and I agree. Everything that moves distracts him...except for food. He is quite the little piglet. He now weighs almost 5 pounds. He eats his food as well as my other two cat's food and then begs for more. He is a very smart little boy. After 2 days he learned to check the floor for the red laser light after hearing the jingle of the key chain. He also learned the word "hungry" after 4 days. If we say "hungry", he runs to the kitchen and sits, waiting for his food. He has learned how to climb almost everything in the house, but has had some trouble with getting down from the floor to ceiling cat tree. But that's ok, he just yells for mom and I come get him down.

My female cat, Lynxy, has finally realized that we are not getting rid of this little thing, so she ignores or avoids him. My 7 year old boy, Booboo, didn't care for him at first and hissed and ran a lot from Peanut. But that didn't stop Peanut from tackling him every chance he got. My boy had to teach him a lesson by putting him in a headlock and holding him down to let him know who was boss in this house. That happened a couple of times. Now Peanut follows him like a puppy dog and waits for cues from Booboo when he is ready to play. They love to chase each other through the house (and we have wood floors) usually between midnight and 4 am. Lots of sliding and banging going on at night here. Once they get tired they both usually come crawl up in the bed with me till morning or someone says "hungry". And I noticed something, he doesn't sleep curled up like most cats. He sleeps on his back all stretched out. It's cut though. Guess that's all for now. I'll check back in a couple of months to let you know how he is doing.

FRANKIE
I was pretty scared when I got here, things haven't been so easy for me up to this point. Now foster Mom is showing me that there is nothing to be afraid of, and that I'm safe. I'm starting to really love her pets, and will roll around on my back and purr, wow can I ever purr. Foster Mom says my forever home is out there somewhere, and I'm hoping I find it soon. I'm also hoping it's a place with a little patience and a ton of love...because I'm really liking this petting stuff. Ask about me and foster Mom will tell you more.

Lots of Purrs

Notes from Home
Only 6 months, seems like we've had this cute guy for much longer than that. He is doing fantastic. Frankie and his little sister are still romping thru the house playing for hours at a time. They are so great together. She has been a huge asset in getting him out of his timid shell. We have discovered that Frankie is drawn to men more so than women. When company comes to visit he is the first one to come and check them out. This was very surprising. He's is super vocal and very chatty. Super sweet little guy. He's still pretty tiny but his legs have grown long and lanky so he may fill out eventually. Still not a lap cat but he will sit beside you which is good progress. We love Frankie so much and are so glad we decided on adopting him with his sad face and patchy fur. He is truely beautiful on the outside now to match his sweet beautiful inside.

TIKI MAYLAY
Beautiful gal who likes other cats and would like one I could play with please! I love my humans and come with all my history. Wait till you see my video posted later today, I'm settling in right away, in purrfect health, and ready to go home!

I have lived with another cat (male) but he got too old to play - I love race and chase games! I sleep with my owners and am very well behaved in my habits. I come with lots of belongings (even my chair!) so you know I was one well loved kitty! Just click to Ask About Me to hear all about who I am!

Notes from Home
It's been a wonderful six months with Tiki in our home. She loves to hide under quilts and be "found". She loves to play and retrieve soft balls and pipe cleaner toys. Tiki is very curious about the birds at the bird feeder. She enjoys occasional visits from her cousin cats. She has bonded with both of us but maintains her independence. Surprisingly, she sits on the piano bench when Joyce plays. The vet reminded us of her fifth birthday on February 6 which she celebrated with one jumbo shrimp.

Tiki (Tiki Maylay) is a happy kitty! She likes to be near us and joins us at bedtime. She is her Meowpa's girl and sleeps with her head on his knee. We are so happy to have her in our family. She has had issues with an allergy which caused excessive licking that resulted in fur loss. It took a while to find the right medication but, thankfully, the meds are helping. She has regrown her missing fur and is now more interested in us and the birds on the feeder than licking. Thanks so much to our vet, Dr. Ereio at VetXpress, and Dr. Harrison at Vet Dermitology, for their help. Tiki loves looking at the birds out the window. She loves to be invited to sit on the piano bench when I am playing or on the sofa when I am quilting. We are delighted with Tiki! Thank you, Siamese Rescue, for matching her with us! We are so pleased with your wonderful organization.

July 13, 2016
Our Tiki Maylay loves to find new places to relax. Her favorite recently was a new daisy wreath laying on a table waiting to be hung. We entertained changing her name to Daisy 4 years ago when we adopted her but she ignored any uses of the new name. She answers to Tiki but does enjoy sleeping among daisies. We may have spoiled her just a bit!

July 13, 2017
Tiki is a great fur baby member of our family. She plays and retrieves her pipe cleaner and cat nip fish toys. She finds new places to rest such as my new daisy wreath. Tiki loves warm sunny spots and, at night, sleeps with her head resting on my husband's leg. We are so pleased we found Siamese Resue through the ad in Washingtonian magazine and gave Tiki a forever home.

ZOE
Sweet, Petite, Lilac Meezer girl in search of couch potato, telecommuter, or happy homebody to share hours of snuggling and conversation. I will give lots of hugs and kisses, and only require unlimited time on your lap, your arm, your neck, and your pillow.

Oh, and I will be your biggest cheerleader - my short, bent, fluffy tail looks like a pom pom! You'll never see another one like it!

Please don't keep me waiting - click to ask about me! And watch my videos!
Notes from Home
8/24/15 Murray made the journey without much difficulty- a few meows. She has settled into her room nicely- although she spends a good deal of time under the bed- it hasn't yet been 48 hours. I think I will be changing her name to Zoe. She has been eating both wet and dry food and has been using the litter box. I was treated to a grooming session this morning around 6:30 am. I have slept with her in her room and she has cuddled me and given lots of head butts. The dog got into the room once while I was there with her and she definitely was afraid of him but he just wanted to sniff her butt. I made him leave and she calmed right down. She is interest ed in seeing what's outside her room but we will wait another day before i let her explore another room. She is so sweet!

Murray's name has been changed to Zoe at our vet. Vet gave her a thumbs up! Saying she looked good just need to try to brush her teeth! She was universally admired as pretty and sweet! She doesn't love car rides but did ok- just a lot of complaining. She guesses she's between 1.5-3 y/o. Now back home, she choked down on some food and curled up for a
nap- going to the vet is exhausting!
Zoe continues to do well. She is queen of the castle! She has gone nose to nose and nose to butt with the other cats and the dog. The dog wants to play with her but is still a little cautious. There is a tentative friendship beginning with Will. Lots of stares, sniffs but no hisses which is good. She follows me around when I'm doing house stuff except vacuuming- she and the dog head for the hills together when that noisy machine comes out! She's also a good eater and cuddler.

Zoe is doing very well. Will sleep in the same bed with the other cats!
Zoe is superb. She wold like to rule the roost! She is very verbal. She is a happy cat. She even plays with the dog and some toys. We all love her.

Meowey Christmas! Zoe is a love. She is a talker and sometimes we joke she is a squeak toy. touch her and she meows. She is super, super sweat=always wanting belly rubs. She plays with the dog- they chase each other and play with each other's toys. She is a chow hound- reminding me to feed her at any chance she gets but I am watching her weight for her. Everyone loves her and she is so friendly that everyone gets to pet her. My other two= well Lucy tolerates her (the 18 y/o) and Will is not particularly fond of her but oh well! We muddle on! Thank you so much for letting me add her to our family

Zoe is a wonderful kitty. She loves everyone and has really bonded with her dog. They even play together. She has also finally gotten some love from our other 17 y/o Siamese- Will. They have been witnessed cleaning each other. :) Love her so much she has brought joy into all our lives. One of my friends always jokes that he and Zoe are having an affair- don't tell his wife...:)

7/14/17 While I'm on hoping to adopt another I thought I'd give an update. She is a wonderful cat- likes to sleep on my head and rearrange my hair. She misses having another cat to hang with. (since we lost Will in March)Still very vocal and still afraid of thunder storms and the cleaning ladies. She greets them and then hides...She is a sweetie and most of my friends and family would steal her if they could..(but she's not going anywhere!) She's still not a great traveler but has improved- especially if there was a cat to share the carrier.. Thank you. She is a joy and we have conversations every day!

CHLOE
Shy but loud, scared but loving, sleek and gorgeous. I am practically perfect in every way . . . but theres just one little, teeny tiny problem. Can you keep a secret? Shhhhhh! Sometimes I wet the bed. My foster mom and the vet found some medicine that helps me a lot. In fact, I'm earning a great track record and the problem might be gone. But then again, I am a rescue Meezer and an older gal, so there are no guarantees.

I am shy and scared at first not for long but you have to know I will be the Queen of your house but I will need an adopter who will give me time to settle in before I rub against your ankles and plop myself in your lap. Once I do, I am yours forever! I feel safe and warm in my Millie bed and sleeping on your shoulder. I will bring my favorite toys and my collection of Millie beds so I'll always have a clean one. I'll bring my freeze-dried chicken treats, too, and promise to be your BFF if you keep them coming my way!

Are you up for the challenge? Please click to ask about me!

Notes from Home
Chloe is doing great. She is sleeping wth me quite a bit, getting more comfortable with the dogs, eating lots of chickie treats, playing, and just being cute. She fits right in. :-)

8/11/2016 - Chloe seems to be adjusting fine. She sleeps with me every night, and isn't leaking much if at all (for about 2 weeks now). She still seems to get annoyed with Sam, but did let him lick her neck and clean her left ear (after initially hissing at him when he started) when they were on my lap the other day. If I'm alone petting her for a little while, and Sam comes in she gets angry and hisses and strikes out at him. They do hang out in the same room upstairs most of the day so she can tolerate his presence for long durations. :-)

8/15/2016 - Chloe has started to be a bit more accepting of Sam. I've seen Sam get close to her a couple of times and she didn't make a peep. She loves play time and Sam has gotten a bit more active, too. She hasn't left the room when he tries to join, so that's a good sign, too!

9/3/2016 - Chloe sticks with me about 75% of the time when I'm home. She still hisses a bit at Sam, but has been known to come and cuddle with me when Sam is already with me. And, she's more accepting of Sam when he comes to cuddle with her and me. She's pretty moody--there are times that nothing will make her purr, other times she's a purring machine.

1/13/2017 - I can't believe it's already been 7 months with Chloe! She is still doing good. We actually found a kidney diet food that she likes. She got a new brother in October, who she seems to tolerate more than she tolerates Sam. She *loves* sleeping in the soft cube bed next to the heater. When she's not there she is on the heating pad.

7/13/2017 - Chloe developed mammary tumors that I discovered in January 2017. I chose not to put her through the surgery to remove both chains of mammary glands, mainly because of her age and her diagnosis of early renal failure in the fall. I had the Lap of Love Hospice vet come to the house in February to assess Chloe. Chloe seemed fine overall. She did slow down over time, wasn't playing as much, and spent most of her time on her heating pad. On Sunday, 7/2/2017 I saw her hovering over the water bowls, but not drinking, which suggested she was very thirsty buy likely nauseated. She stopped eating as well, including her favorite chickie treats, which was my primary indicator that she wasn't doing so great. She spent the next few days as usual on her heating pad, but didn't appear to feel very well, and didn't start eating. On Friday, 7/7/2017, the Lap of Love vet came to the house to "give her her angel wings." It was very sad. She was with me only about 1 year. She was a small girl, but had a big presence. She slept with me every night, so her absence is very noticeable. I wish I had had more time with her, but I'm glad I was able to spend the past year with her.

Outgoing and lovely, I can lap sit and play as is typical of snowshoes! You aren't going to need more than me in your life!
Notes from Home
07/12/17 Luna (formerly Dinsdale) has been home for 3 days now. We renamed her because she got her name when the rescuer thought she was boy. She eats well and litter boxes well. Her favorite thing is time with her people. She will curl upon the couch next us while we work or watch TV. She also loves playing with her feather stick toy. We feel like we have won the cat lottery with this lovely girl! She is very much attached to her people, but has gradually started playing independently as well.

JOJO
I need a true rescue angel. I hadn't had much human attention, if any, before I was brought to the shelter and then to my foster moms house. It took me almost two months to start letting foster mom pet me and pick me up. I'm still not thrilled with it but it's a start. I still hiss sometimes to remind her that I need more time and space. But I like to follow her around and purr and I LOVE our wand toy play sessions. They are the best part of my day -well that and meal time and treats :). Are you prepared to give me a couple of months to get to know you before I let you pet me? I do need a nice girl kitty as a buddy. I also need to stay inside my transport area and the shorter the trip the better. If you would like a handsome guy like me and you have time and patience to let me settle in on my terms, please ask about me.

Thank you.

Love, Joey

Notes from Home
Joey is doing well. He eats, drinks, and uses the litter box as expected. I continue his Prozac, and will talk to my vet before weaning him off. He explores his room, as I lay on the floor and talk to him. He has played with some of the toys I offer, and watches every move I make. I am encouraged by his demeanor. There seems to be no panic or real fear. He has approached me enough to smell my extended hand, and reached out to touch it gingerly with his paw. No sign of attack. I will update again when there is more to report. We are doing well. Thanks for your help. Gloria

4 Jul 17...Almost afraid to report because I don't want to jinx the progress...... Major breakthrough on the 3rd of July. Between 10 PM & 11 PM Joey became interested in the door to the hall, and while he was occupied with it, I ventured to pet him. He not only allowed, but responded with a very loud purring. He pushed back on my hand almost like a reflex. He must have had someone care for him when he was really little. He allowed skritching to his head, ears and back, along with full body strokes. He allowed again this evening. I have been going into his room, and laying on a body pillow, and reaching my hand over to him. He previously did come close, and touch my hand, as above. I'm so excited with this progress, I don't know what to do. I also spoke with my vet about decreasing his Prozac. Since the pills are so small, and preclude dividing further, he suggested giving every other day for a couple weeks. Will monitor closely to be sure it is OK. I visit him in his room at least 3 or 4 times a day, and use his behavior to determine the length of stay. I'm going to wait and see about the Prozac dose decrease before I attempt to integrate Joey with the three established babies. Thanks for all your support.

12 Jul 17 Joey has become JoJo. He was introduced to Mama Mia (Mia) on 10 Jul, and they spent the day together in his room. On the 11th, the pups had a grooming day, and JoJo was turned loose in the whole house. He has explored well, and he and Mia have had no real hard confrontations. He is not hiding, as I thought he might. He follows her, she hisses a bit but no scraps. He even came to me in the kitchen, and crouched fr a petting. I will send pictures later, but wanted to get this out. He is on every other day Prozac, and I see no changes in his behavior. All seems well at this point. He is well and happy, as is Mia. Thanks again.

ZOEY
A little spice is nice, right? Well only if you've graduated magna cum laude from Siamese school, because I can be quite spicy. I guess that's what happens when your brain is working extra hard trying to figure everything out, and being a bit defensive when I think I'm challenged. I need a one or two person home, people very experience with sassy Siamese gals, an 'alpha' personality as Aunt Siri says. No other cats please, and definitely no small children. A dog? Well, I watch with interest, but suspect I could be bossy with that slobbering peon if pushed. Good in all habits, although active on my favorite scratching post, which does come with me.

Notes from Home
Zoey has been home for over a month now, and is doing well. She is extremely smart, and has so much energy that it's sometimes hard to keep up with her. She definitely has an "in your face" personality, but also is very loving with a wonderful purr that I've been blessed with ever since she arrived here. She definitely thinks she is large and in charge! I think she's glad to have a home where she can be herself. We're still working on what is or is not acceptable behavior here (like NOT jumping on kitchen counters or knocking things on the floor from whatever surfaces she can get on), but things are going well. She is a wonderful cat. I think that some of her crazy behaviors are from being bored, so I'm trying to work on playing with her as much as possible around work. She eats well, and is very good at using her litter box, though is quite energetic at digging in the litter. Oh well, at least I can deal with sweeping the floor as long as she uses the litter box! Sometimes she'll sleep on the bed with me at night (almost right from the first night), and sometimes she'll sleep in her millie bed. Her health seems to be good, and I haven't seen any reason yet to be concerned or take her to the vet. As high strung as she can be, I'm not sure how she'll be at the vet's office, but my vet is good at dealing with "difficult" cats! She has not been the least bit aggressive with me - just very high energy with a high play drive. I think that comes from being so smart and still being young.

5/7/17 - Zoey is doing quite well, still biting some when she gets over stimulated, but not quite as much. I'm trying to keep an eye on her more to anticipate the biting for attention stuff. I took her to the vet last month for a general checkup, and the vet was pleased. She weighed 9.15 pounds, so a bit of a weight gain. She eats quite well - I initially was able to get her to eat some canned food along with the dry, but I think it disagreed with her system (she would vomit soon afterwards). Now she's back to having just the Merrick dry food, which she keeps down. She loves to play, and loves it when I have the windows open so she can sniff the fresh air and watch the birds. She is very smart, so seeing different things going on outside helps keep her mentally stimulated. I've gone through a lot of the freeze dried chicken treats, which she adores. No, she's not getting a lot of them each day, since I want her to have a more balanced diet, but I think she deserves a bit of a treat every day. She does love knocking things off of bookshelves and other surfaces - I think it's mostly an attention seeking thing as she mostly does it when I'm home. She is a sweet little cat, and quite the personality!

7/12/17 - Zoey is settling down quite well - she doesn't attack me nearly as much as she did when I first brought her home. I was worried at first about dealing with her when I first came home after having surgery, but she spent a lot of time sleeping on my lap when I was sleeping. She's down to not eating canned food any more - either she refused it totally, or her tummy got upset afterwards and she'd vomit. The dry food seems to work well though - very little tummy upsets. She still loves the freeze dried chicken treats, but I have to ration that! She's been a lovely cat to have around!

FERGUS
Yes, you guessed it...since my foster meowm had three bouncing babies arrive during the Memorial Day weekend, she felt it appropriate to name us after The Big Bang Theory! So let me introduce myself!!! I'm Wolowitz & I'm full of energy & love playing with my brother. There's more for my foster meowm to learn about my personality, but I think she's liking me so far, as I've given her a kiss!!

Stay tuned for updates. Since I'm so young, it will be several weeks before I can come home, but I'll be worth the wait!!

I do need a friend to come with me or if you already have a friend for me that would be purrrfect!

Notes from Home
Fergus has been with us for 6 months and we adore him. Fergus is a typical littler brother bugs his big sister by chasing her and jumping out at her. She is fine with him as long as he isn't jumping her. We call him tiny tiger as he loves to jump and attack us playfully. He also has earned the nickname land shark as he military crawls under the bed so he can jump at us or his sister as we walk by. He is not a lap cat but loves to sit on my neck by my face. He loves to play with the track ball or the tent we got him. He is still not sleeping in the room as he wakes up at 3 am and wants to play.

I cant believe it has been nearly a year since Fergus became a part of our family. He is the sweetest boy. He does not like to be alone at all. He is playful and NEVER sleeps. When he wants to lay on you he pounces like Tigger. There is no nicely walking on you. He has learned to jump on all surfaces in the house se we continue to train him to stay off the counter. He loves his big sister but his sister at times will hiss to let him know she has had enough of her little brother. He plays fetch with furry mice. He likes to drop them in the water bowl then fish them out and bring them to you. Everyone that meets him loves him instantly. He is afraid of dogs and will not come down stairs when my son comes to visit with his pug. This little guy has brought so much joy to our lives.

I can't believe it has been two years since Fergus came to live with us. He loves to wrestle with his sister and plays fetch just a dog. He is definitely a mamas boy and follows me everywhere. I can no longer go to the bathroom by myself. He has had his checkup for this year and is completely healthy. He is such a love bug and brings so much joy to our life

MERLIN
I am quite a shy cat who is going to require what Aunt Siri terms 'tough love'. That means someone who can get down on their hands and knees and reach under beds and cabinets to pull me out, sit with me on the floor in their lap, and repeat, repeat, repeat. I am doing well on a special single protein diet which is over the counter and which is helping some possible food sensitivities, so will need to stay on this diet (wet and dry, Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea).
Notes from Home
Merlin is nearing his 2 month anniversary and what a busy 2 months. For weeks we couldn't get him out of our bathroom. Then we couldn't get him out of the bedroom. Now he rules the house. He stands on top of the staircase at bedtime and meows his head off, telling us its bedtime. He will bounce down the stairs, jump on each of us, then run to the top of the stairs and meow, meow meow. Once we get upstairs, he keeps his eye on both of us until its lights out. If I load the dishwasher, he will peek into the kitchen and remind me its bedtime! Then once we are tucked in he jumps in bed and purrs, curls up and time to sleep. 4 in the morning seems to be his time to get up. He will wash our faces, bat us with his paw and then start playing with his toys. He has figured out this doesn't work much. He eats well, spends lots of time on our laps, plays with his toys (catnip is his favorite) and is not afraid of visitors! Both my son and his girlfriend and my daughter and her husband have visited and Merlin is very curious and friendly. Loud bangs still make him jump. Once in a while he will jump on a counter to see what's going on, but not a regular thing. He is not a scratcher, but he will use his scratching pad quite often. And he loves Turkey treats! His first vet visit went very well and he has gained weight and his coat and skin are doing great.
