I've been settling in and so far I am not happy when any of the other cats come near my playpen. I have excellent litter box habits and have learned to like wet food, along with the kibble meowmy give me.
I like it when she pets me, but am unsure about this "lap" thing she's trying to get me to sit on. My isolation time will be up on February 2, so then maybe I'll give up some more of my secrets and then you can ask about me.
So, for now, I'm going to chill out for a few more day.

Notes from Home
New update 3/15/2017--- has it been two years already? Every day with Chula is a treasure in my memory. She is so beautiful, her soft fur is darkening more and more, you would hardly recognize her. I planted an apple seed some weeks ago and it grew to about 3 inches tall and had 7 leaves before she snacked on the leaves and pulled the little tree out of the pot. I have planted some catnip seeds in little pots for her this week. I am doing some spring cleaning, moving some furniture around and changing things up a bit. Doesn't bother her a bit. She is a happy, healthy cat and I love her so much. God bless you all and thank you for all you do. Kylan

MISO
I am a handsome hunk of snowshoe. And friendly - I was purring within an hour of getting to my new foster mom's. Right now I'm very curious about the cats that I know are outside my door - I have started meeting them (through the baby gates) and I trill and chirp to them, and reach out my paws. I think I'd like to play with them and we will find out soon. I am very friendly with people though - that we know for sure. Better pictures of me coming very soon.

Notes from Home
3/13/16: Miso's first day in our home. He's in his foster room acclimating well. He pranced out of the cat carrier, explored, but shied away from human interaction for 10 minutes. He is all sniffs, head butts, and purrs now. He was alone in the room a few times and made himself comfortable on our bed, played with some toys, ate and drank like a champ. So far so good. Our other cat Aubree seems to know another cat is in the house. After a family meeting we decided to go with Miso. More updates soon.
3/14/16: Miso is settling in to his room. Very comfortable on the bed and playing with toys. He is so quiet--no meowing yet and quiet little purrs. He is very interested in the door but has not "darted." His vet exam is scheduled for 3/16. He follows us around the room and insists on pets frequently. Doesn't really like to be held though. Seems very happy.
4/18/16: A little over a month since we brought Miso home. He is still a loving happy cat. We have had some challenges though with barfing and diarrhea. We think he ate a plant, but after a few trips to the vet, antibiotics, and blood and stool work, we think it may be irritable bowel syndrome. We switched food a couple of times, which didn't work so we went back to the food he had originally. Still diarrhea but no barfing. Through this all Miso is having a great time with our family and super-cat, Aubree. Next step: sprinkle probiotics on his food. . .
3/14/17: Miso has been with us for a year. He is a handsome and active boy! The main mom in the family is "Miso's person." He follows me around like a dog. Miso likes to swat with his paws and can scratch sometimes. I think he was used to being outside and it took him a while to adjust to indoors only. He is a lovely cat although our other Siamese, Aubree, is truly not that thrilled with him. Sometimes they get along, but she really liked being the queen. Miso tries to snuggle and clean Aubree, but Aubree prefers her human interaction.
About 8 months ago, Miso was diagnosed with small cell leukemia. He had horrible bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. He has had two courses of prednisone and some chemo pills. So far so good. He gained weight, started to have normal poops, and the vomiting is sporadic.
Miso enjoys people--family members and strangers. He is not timid and he really likes to play with cat toys and people. All is well!

Notes from Home
A month with KoKo. I wish he could talk. He likes to move around the ceramic water bowls downstairs at night. One heavy bowl has been moved 3 feet several times, and it's next to the food. The vet said it may just be a quirk of his. He keeps on moving the other one 6 inches or a foot each night prowl. He saw the vet today, and his ears are clean. He also got another B-12 shot. He's put on a pound since the last visit. He keeps dropping niblets into the water bowl. The vet said I could try moistening the niblets a little. He may prefer a semi-moist food. He likes all canned cat food, but seems to share LouLou's preference for those with gravy and they never finish it. Sometimes they seem to just eat the gravy. He is still skittish with me outside of his room. When he jumps up on the bed to join me, there's still a glimmer of fear in his eyes. I mentioned at the vet's office that I seldom see his eyes, and they said that is common with a cat who's scared -- to have their head down. They only thing he has to fear is being petted and brushed to death. He and LouLou co-exist without much contact, but do 5 licks to each other when I am petting them both (I swear my hands are sore from so much petting). KoKo licked me while waiting on the table for the vet to come. I've been taking him downstairs some nights and petting him on the couch for ten minutes till he escapes. But he is now stopping for a drink of water before going upstairs. I don't know what else I can do to make him relax and stop being worried. I was reassured by his escort Jessica's note about her cat's journey to normal. Just have to be patient.
I keep accidentally deleting my notes. Just wanted to say that KoKo is running out of his corner hide-out as soon as I come in the room as well as when he hears the chair scrape when I'm leaving. Each time I leave the bed, he reaches out with his left paw and tries to pull my hand back (w/o claws). The last 5 days, he has been coming out to the bed and hanging out, stretched out, for 5 to 15 minutes while I'm at the computer. Sometimes I go and pet him, others I talk to him. He's been on the bed for a while now. Everywhere else he runs like the dickens if he sees me.
I was used to having a full bowl of niblets round the clock for the cats to eat. I've realized that he must have been hungry at some point in his life and will eat everything he sees (except for half the canned food). LouLou was hungry at 4:30 a.m. the other day (and licking my face to tell me), because the bowl had been emptied by KoKo. I don't want to starve him, but he's put on a pound since he's been here. They still co-exist peacefully and it's 5 licks and a head bump from KoKo when they meet at least daily.
I read some articles on socializing rescue cats and got a calming spray that seems to help a bit. Also learned it's best to let the cat come to you.
Slow progress so far. He loves to play and purrs like a tiger when I toss the triangle toys to him and he bats them back hard. I found one of them on the stairs the other morning. Also loves the Cat Dancer toy and will now play with it on the floor and away from the bed. They both immediately wrapped themselves around the Yeowwy banana when it arrived the other day. I started measuring out his food and he apparently was hungry at 5:20 a.m. the Saturday. He meows like a kitten. I have only heard a few meows from him since I got him and only in the car. I went to see him and he was at the cat room door. The next day it was at 6:30 and he was in the middle of the short hallway. Finally, he was at my bedroom door. I left a handful of niblets in the downstairs bowl, and I know it was him because I found some in the water. KoKo & LouLou are both gravy lickers and don't eat much of the canned food except tuna and beef flavors. I started finding food on the ground next to the bowl, so apparently, he likes to suck on it. He gets along fine with LouLou when they meet on the bed. He licks her more than she licks back. But they have no issues. I just wish they'd curl up together, but he likes the floor and she likes beds and sofas. He has never not licked me when I pet him. Sometimes he likes to take a chomp, but so does LouLou. I call it tenderizing the meet. Neither draws blood.
Another month, and slow progress. This morning he came 2 feet inside my bedroom and meowed for me to get up and feed him so he moved from the doorway. However, he runs when I call him. A few times during the night in the past, he howled oooooh. Like a ghost. His nickname is Cocoanut as he's still moving ceramic water bowls at night. His record is 5 feet. I've also heard him galloping back and forth for 4 times during the day, and was glad he's getting some exercise. I'm mostly feeding both of them pate type cat foods as they both seem to mostly lick the gravy off and I want them to get more protein. They are both eating more of the meat now.
Meanwhile, he and LouLou are making progress. They are both on the bed sleeping 6 inches apart as I write. I wish they'd cuddle up together -- maybe if I turned up the air conditioner? I check the computer in the cat room before going down to prepare their food. They both watch me intently, and come over and sit by me. Yesterday morning, I saw the two of them playing with a toy together. There's a kitten in the heart of all Geezers. This morning LouLou touched his nose in greeting and he licked her a lot.
KoKo's stopped chewing on his front toenails. I used to hear him crunching them, but I had to clip them the other day. I've never heard of that before. Maybe a nervous habit? The only hard part in clipping his nails is that he keeps trying to lick me. He still flinches when I go to pet him, even when he's come rushing to join me, so I'm trying to let him make the first move, and he does. I've been able to play with the Cat Dancer on the floor. Playing on the bed, he couldn't move around very much and get some exercise. And he still licks me. I think he likes me!
Month 4. I was starting to feel discouraged. A few days after I last wrote, KoKo jumped up on my bed in the morning for the first time, but ran when I spoke to him. Another morning he was reclining on the big cat tree in my bedroom when I woke up. And he jumped on the bed and settled down another time, but ran off when I called to him. I take him to my bedroom to weigh him a couple of times a week. No big weight difference, but no increased weight at least. I pet him on the bed before getting on the scale without him. At first he'd run back to his bed, but later stuck around. I brought a wand toy with a fish toy on it, and played with him there many times. He loves to play and purrs like crazy. The other day, I was going to use it in the bedroom and had the brainstorm to drag it, rattling, to see if he'd follow me -- and he did!. He jumped up on the bed next to me like it happened all the time. He did the same the next time.
KoKo has very thick fur, which I brush a lot, but he still gives off hair when I pet him and leaves furry tumbleweeds on the stairs. I call him Fluffy because it sticks out so much. I had a friend who said her orange tabby wasn't fat, he was fluffy. I was at an estate sale last week and bought an unused wire pet brush (as well as a Bissell 3 in 1 vac that Amazon customers said was perfect for picking up litter from floors, also brand new). I couldn't believe how much sleeker he was. Trouble was that LouLou liked it too and would try to push between us while he kept licking me while I tried to brush him. They get along fine, but she wants whatever he has. She also lets me know vocally if he's eaten all the food. He now lets me pet him after I put his food down. But flinches. This doesn't sound that amazing, but he would run back before, even though he really wanted the food. And he comes running when I ask who wants a Greenie. He is well mannered too. LouLou gets a Greenie first, but he doesn't try to steal it if she takes her time like her former companion did. And he loves the new brush, and will sit there patiently waiting when I clean off all the hair.
Exciting news (for me)-- KoKo followed LouLou up on my bed this morning and came over to me and licked me and let me pet him. This is a first. Later, after petting him in the cat room I said "Who wants to be brushed?" as I left the room. He followed me to my room and jumped up on the bed for his brushing. Thanks to the magic brush and fishing rod, he now feels comfortable in another room. His vocabulary is now Greenies and brush.
And I think I found out what his problem is. I started to step into his corner last night, and he hissed at me. I think he is afraid of feet from being kicked in his past life. That's why he runs like the dickens downstairs when he sees me. And jumps on the bed to be petted and to lick me. No feet can kick him there. It's taken me a long time for him to not run up on the bed when I bring him his food and instead go to the food bowls. But hunger is a strong incentive. I've only recently been able to pet him when he starts eating, and he flinches when I touch him. I think I'll have to start playing with him and brushing him downstairs. I think this explains why he runs from me sometimes and to me others and licks me. He's not afraid of me. He's afraid of my big feet.
Life is good. KoKo no longer flinches when I touch him. He had come up on my bed on another morning and let me pet him. Then 2 days ago, he was lying at the foot of the bed for over an hour. Looking right at home. Around 8 a.m. LouLou started licking my arm, hoping I would get up, and KoKo joined her licking my arm. I was wondering when she was going to show him the ropes. Unfortunately, he thought chomping on my thumb would speed things up and got a no from me, and I put my head back on the pillow. At least LouLou didn't show him Plan B, which is licking my face and tapping my nose with her paw. She would do that at 3 a.m. when the food had been lifted because of a vet visit the next day for surgery. 11 lb. Mousse would assist her by doing the cha-cha on my chest. Anyhow, KoKo seems to have relaxed a noticeable notch down. Yeah!!!
Month 5 -- KoKo's definitely more relaxed. He hangs out on my bed each morning, and as soon as I sit up, he's there next to me licking me like crazy .. and LouLou too this morning. I know it's because food is coming soon, and he wants to encourage me to get up. He's still afraid of feet. I noticed last week that he was heading down the stairs as soon as I went in my bedroom at night. I figured he was getting a snack, but discovered he was also stretched out on the couch with LouLou on the other end. I made my bed a happy place for him by playing with him there and brushing him. So I started bringing him to the couch more often to give him a treat and brush him. He throws up a lot more hair downstairs. But no matter where I brush him, he sheds, which is a nervous sign, I know. But KoKo now sticks around longer on the couch and even stops for a sip of water or to lick himself on the bottom of the stairs instead of speeding away. I was brushing him the other day, and LouLou joined us for some brushing too. He has a habit of swatting at me (no claws) when I'm leaving him, stop brushing him or playing with him. Well, he swatted at me to keep brushing, missed me and hit LouLou. Her little mouth made an "o" and she went to the head of the bed. I swear she said "Omygod he hit me!." But no hissing or fighting went on. LouLou is half his size. He sits next to the water bowl each morning waiting for the food to come, and makes these little kitten meows. Meanwhile little LouLou is a dozen feet away from me in the kitchen and howling "RAWR!! -- as in hurry up and feed me. I finally put a collar on him, and he didn't mind at all. I know he has a chip. But just in case, I have a collar embroidered with his name and phone number. It has an elastic part so he can't be strangled by it. And no more flinching, just shedding.
Month 6 -- KoKo is still afraid of feet. I've been taking him downstairs (no easy feat as he weighs 14 lbs.), but he never struggles while I'm on the stairs. I play with him, give him a treat, brush him and release him. He sticks around a little longer each time. But instead of running like a bat out of hell, he now stops and sits on the bottom of the stairs and licks himself a few times and then leisurely climbs the stairs. He is big and smart as his namesake literary cat. He knows his name, and will come to me when I call him when I'm at the computer or in bed. Not every time, but you know how cats are. A few weeks ago, I heard his little meow meow meow meow at 1:30 a.m. I wasn't going to feed him, but wanted to make sure he was okay. He ran when I went to the doorway but I found he had left a toy in the doorway. It's a lion face with a foot long tail. He brought it from the toy basket downstairs. Since then, the lion toy appears in my bed every morning. I figure he thinks I'll get up and play because I did finally get up when he brought it to bed the day before. He, LouLou and I have a party in my bed every morning, with the two of them licking and rubbing me till I get up. He's still shedding nervous hair, even after I brush him and pet him. But he doesn't flinch at all any more, and always licks me when I pet him. I've never had a cat who licked me when I was cutting its nails before. I don't think there's anything else I can do to make him relax. Just keep on being kind to him. Looking back, I see how much progress he's made.
Month 7 with KoKo -- if you feed him, he will come. The day after I last wrote, I decided to try something new. For the prior week, he had been at the top of the stairs, saying, meow meow meow as I was bringing up the food bowls, and then when he saw me, would run to sit next to the water bowl upstairs. So I started to feed him at the bottom of the stairs on the landing. The first few times he went 3 stairs up while I sat there with the food. A couple of whiffs of the canned food, and he came down to eat, while I petted him. After a few days, he was standing outside the kitchen doorway, 5 feet from me. This was momentus as I was standing and he was near me. Then he would lead me to the stair landing, looking back constantly to make sure I was following him. He helped himself to LouLou's food a few times, but she didn't mind sharing. I was getting tired of carrying his food bowls up and down, but LouLou thought it nice to have food available when she was upstairs.
A few times when he came downstairs for a snack and I was on the couch, I got him over to me playing with a mouse toy on a fishing rod. He loves to play! I then gave him a few treats and was able to pick him up. He has also started hanging out on my bed with LouLou during the day (almost touching sometimes). I have a faux Sherpa blanket the cats love. He runs when he hears me going up the stairs, but when I come from the cat room, he stays in the bed and lets me pet and brush him.
Mornings are still a party with the cats trying to get me up. KoKo has started to bring up other toys for me to play with during the night, announcing their arrival in the bed at 3 a.m. with his little meow meow meow. I have to wonder how he selects the toys he thinks I'll get up and play with. He's still afraid of feet, but is getting better all the time. Oh, and I figured out he must have been raised with a dog. That explains why he licks me so much and maybe why he doesn't curl up with LouLou, though they do lick each other. He's a big puppycat!
Month 8 with KoKo -- We're still having foot issues, but things are changing for the good. He sometimes leads down the stairs to get breakfast. He also doesn't seem to realize that he's walking next to my feet as I'm carrying his food to the stair landing. He's too busy meowing and keeping his eyes on the bowl. Moving his food bowls to the bottom of the stairs has been good for interaction. I can usually entice to come over near me and play with the wand toy when he comes down for a snack. Plus, he enjoys the treats from the jar on the coffee table. His weight was a new low of 12.8 the other day. I think that's from the extra stair exercise and wand play. He certainly is not a picky eater. My biggest surprise was last week. I was on the couch on the phone, and with no help from me, he jumped up on the couch next to me. Since then, he has done this regularly, sometimes twice a day. I've been waiting 8 months for him to join me and LouLou on the couch. My sister spent the night recently and was on the computer. He came and sat next to the chair, like he does with me and she could pet him, and he licked her.
Month 9 -- we still have foot issues. I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle. This month KoKo started visiting the cat bed at the window next to my computer table when I'm at the computer. Today he jumped in with LouLou for the first time. She didn't mind. I saw a cat wand toy in the supermarket by Jackson Galaxy, the guy from The Cat From Hell. It has a metal, expanding antenna rod with a long braided wire line and different toys you can attach. I first got the 2-part worm and later an iguana (enough with mice!). It has a much further reach and KoKo loves it. The first afternoon I showed it to him, he spent the whole afternoon downstairs. When he wasn't playing with it, he was on the couch, stretched out on the floor or sitting on the bottom step staring at me hoping it would come out again. He's certainly getting more exercise. He is the most playful old cat! I put up a small tree on a short table, which he's left alone. He just watched me hang ornaments. My former cat Mousse used to push on the string tied from the tree to the stair rail (to make sure it wasn't knocked down) and shake the tree. He loves playing with water so much, his Christmas present was a water fountain. He went right to it. Happy holidays to all!
One year with KoKo:
I was planning on writing today before I got the note from Peggy. You people are really efficient! KoKo aka KoKoKat, is doing great! Though he looks like a large Siamese, he is more a cross of a raccoon and a puppy. And though he still has foot fear issues, he forgets them at feeding time. I try to look at the bright side -- that I'm less likely to trip on him. He likes to play with water like a raccoon. I watch him each day dipping each paw into the living room water bowl and then licking them. Not a day goes by that he doesn't lick my hand numerous times (like a puppy). I can't count all the times he jumps up on the couch next to me each day now, and purrs when I pet and rub him. He also visits me at the computer for a rub on his way out the room, and licks me. He's on my bed with LouLou every morning to help get me up with licks and purrs. He also still brings a toy lion to the bedroom in the middle of the night every night, and announces it with little meows.
He had his vet checkup in January since he got his shots then last year. He is fine and a little lighter for his exercising more. My female, LouLou turned 17 then and has been taking thyroid meds. I thought she looked thinner and had her kidneys tested recently. She and KoKo are now on kidney diet food, which they both like a lot. I was unhappy with my vet for saying she should go on it in a couple of months (why wait?) and dislike the vet taking over the practice (LouLou howls when she sees him) and have switched to another vet nearby, who agreed LouLou should start the new diet now.
LouLou and KoKo get along fine. They hang out together and greet each other with face licks. They don't cuddle up together though. They want whatever the other cat has, be it food or brushing or petting.
I must admit I was getting worried I had made a mistake after 3 months of little progress. I figured wrongly, that it would only take a few months for KoKo to adjust. But I knew there was an affectionate cat in there, who was very scared. I just kept, petting, brushing and playing with KoKo, and it worked. KoKo seems to be a happy guy.

Notes from Home
3/12/2017: Oh how the time flies. Coco Sierra (we just refer to her these days as Coco, Hoover (because she inhales her food), Rascal, Sweetness ... they all work!) has now been a member of this household for a year.
What would Coco say to you?
"Dear SRC - I hit the jackpot for sure. I am in a home that caters to my every need. My Meezer Mom is awesome, has plenty of toys for me to play with, caters to my food needs (yup, even giving me some people turkey to sweeten my wet food) and has given me the sweetest sister who puts up with my craziness! I love this place. I have 4 cat scratch towers attached to cat seats, I have 3 beds (one of which is a very special Milton Bed given to me by my Mom's really good volunteer friend Bonnie), I have lots of toys that I throw up in the air and then jump up to catch it, and I have lots of love and more love and more love and even more love! I've given Mom a few scares in the year that I've been with her, including consistent diarrhea which needed to be treated with panacur (something I didn't like very much), and recently had a very special emergency as a result of a ruptured anal gland that needed cleaning up. I hated the cone I had to wear on my head for almost a week, but I guess it did the trick. As they say, it's behind me now! Thank you for finding me this home. I'm a happy happy meezer girl, who just turned 9 in January (but I'm told by all my Mom's friends as well as Mom that I act like I'm still 2!)."
It's hard to believe that Coco Sierra a/k/a "The RASCAL" has only been here 5 days! Coco got her name because my great niece, Stella, decided she wanted to vote on her name and THAT was the name she wanted! Which works, because Coco (Chanel) is VERY regal, and the little white spots on her paws are her "mini marshmellows"! Sierra as her middle name is what I will use when I have to discipline her, which I imagine will be on a regular basis! (Read on...)
Coco and Cara are quickly getting used to each other and Cara, bless her sweet soul, has accepted her sister in record time. They are already sitting/sleeping side by side on the couch and this morning while I was lying in bed, with Cara on my lap, Coco jumped up, joined her on my lap for a 15 minute snooze before this little rascal burrowed her way under the covers and snuggled next to my leg. Bliss! I may even have my snuggler!
Coco has quickly realized this is her HOME. She owns everything, and uses her loud meezer voice when she needs me to pay attention to her, feed her, or just acknowledge that she is here to stay. It's very hard for me to believe that she has only known 8 years of living in a cage with other meezers, and being used as a female breeder cat. She has adapted beautifully to her human as well as her new home. She is learning that toys are fun, and got into Cara's toy bag a few days ago and went crazy taking all the toys, one by one, out of the bag, throwing them up in the air with her mouth, and then going on to the next one. Just too cute!
I forgot what it's like to have a REALLY REALLY smart meezer around here - and very pleased to say that this is the meezer personality that I absolutely adore. The imp, the little devil, but the one who does everything naughty with a purr and a sly look as if to say, you didn't really mean it when you said "NO" just then, did you?" She definitely has some of Nala in her...
Thought you'd appreciate a few pictures. Cara is doing great - she's 90% sure of her sister being here to stay and so far seems very content to have her around. It's funny, Cara is my 2 year old and Coco is my 8 year old, but if you saw them together, you'd wonder who the youngster really is...
My heart is full and my home is blessed... the luck of the Irish to all of you today! I've already got my pot of gold!!

It's very hard to believe that Coco has been with me for ONLY two weeks. She is a true member of the family. She definitely is a rascal, and enjoys getting her tiny little nose into everything. I can see she's going to force me to clean up my act around my apartment! Her latest trick is getting into her sister's (and now hers as well) bag of toys. She pulls toys out one by one with her teeth, throws them up in the air, and then goes to the next one. Occasionally I'll wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning to hear her batting one of her sparkly toys around, chasing after it and then bringing it back into the bedroom and starting all over again. Melatonin anyone? She definitely has gotten used to the pets and the hand; still squirms after about 5 seconds being held (but it's getting better, so just like Cara, it will take a while for them both to understand that holding is just all about more love...but it'll happen!)
Coco and Cara are also really starting to understand each other - they groom each other, chase each other, and sleep side by side when they're tuckered out. I do believe this tiny little meezer of a girl knows she's home for good! The next challenge - trying to clip her claws...we'll see how she does with that. All three of us (and Chloe and Nala before these 2) send SRC grateful thanks... as always!!

Notes from Home
Zoltar has completed his full vet visit. He has lost weight and is down to 14 pounds 1 oz. He will have to stay on his diet and we will take him to the vet on a monthly basis to weigh him until he is down to "fighting weight". He needs some dental work which we will do in May after he has time to fully adjust to his forever home with us. He loves to sit in the sun and watch the birds and the squirrels outside- I added some new pictures to this page so you can see. He just loves to play with his feather and the little triangles from his going home bag. We love having him with us and enjoy watching his personality come out as he settles in. Thank you to all the volunteers, foster and Siamese Rescue who brought him to us, K&J
March 8,2017. We cannot believe it has only been 3 years, it seems like Zoltar has always been part of our family. He was a wonderful buddy when I went through breast cancer last year, and he keeps our 87 year old mom company during the day. Also, he has a very special bond with my husband, sitting on his lap each morning during his coffee and playing with his shoe laces when he comes home at night. We love having him and he has definitely happily settled into his "furever" home.

My owner died and I ended up at the shelter. I have had an exam with the "works" and my blood work looks good. Also had a dental to get rid of some bad teeth so I am feeling good and starting to play. Fine with other kitties.

O1/26/2017 This is an update on how Helen Purrin-[VA11872] is doing at her new forever home after 5 days.
Helen is doing great so far, showing lots of improvements in record time and interacting with the family members (2 adults, 3 young boys), very talkative making different types of sounds (We need to learn what they means), she is eating very well dry and wet food and treats, She is using the litter box in a regular basis, playing with her toys and jumping to the bed, jumping to the tower to look through the window, She loves being hair brushed.
She is not using yet her round bed we bought from the center, she loves the big bed..lol
Helen loves to play mostly in the mornings and very late at night around 10-11 pm, just before we go to sleep..lol... so we play with her for a while and she gets very happy.
The only pending part is waiting for Helen get out of the bedroom where she is accommodated, she is trying now to go closer to the bedroom door and go back, that's all...we'll see how long it takes.
More updates will be provided.
I will post pictures and a couple of videos of Princess Helen.
02/01/2017: Helen's update:
As today -10 days after Helen arrived- Helen's adaptation progress is going extremely well. She finally decided to get out of the bedroom by herself and performing the most desired event, Going downstairs!!
She did it for three times so far, preferable at nights, looking very nervous with her tail at low position and saying "meow" all the time. Helen was focused on preforming main floor complete recognition. She walked constantly around all the perimeters of any room she found on her way (Kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, entrance lobby and sun room...ufff until she jumped to the kitchen counter and walked for recognition too..hahaha, then after that she jumped to the sofa and went under the sofa. While she was doing all that, i got some pictures on the act that i will share too.
However, she prefers going back to the master-bedroom and spent the most part of the day there playing with us, sleeping on the bed, playing toys, eating, using the litter box, the tower and looking through the window. Actually we decided to leave the door open all the time so she can leave to the other bedrooms upstairs where the boys are.
In regards to the boys, Helen is doing much better interaction with them, she loves when they brush her hair, or playing with her. The boys are also helping providing her dish with food, so she can trust them more and more.
I was confident that she will stay downstairs more time with us after recognizing, but no, she is still afraid to leave the master-bedroom completely.
In summary, we believe that Helen progress is going very well, probably more time is needed for her. Helen is very talkative, very sweet princess and she loves to sleep on my side!! ..The only thing she does not like very much is when i give to her a big hug....looks like she gets mad...haha.

Update on Princess "Helen Purrin": Three weeks after adoption.
Well, it is a pleasure for us to let you know that Helen's adaptation to our home is fantastic!!.. wow, she is a sweet lady that trust very much in all of us in just 3 weeks after she arrived. We are giving to her all our love and attention she needs so that's why her progress has been very positive and quick.
Currently, Helen share lots of her time with us at any location of the house, she got out completely of the master bedroom (only used for her sleep), she goes downstairs to the main floor by herself, she goes to the basement, and she knows all the rooms.
Helen favorite place is the kitchen!!..haha...smell good...haha.
Helen loves to wake up us early in the morning around 6 am, jump to the bed and lick our faces and a typical meow meow!!
She love her toys and enjoys a lot when any of us play with her.
She also loves to watch TV with us, she got possession of the small chair to look at everyone.
So, because the house is big, we got a second litter-box for downstairs and Helen is very smart, she began to use it right away as soon she identified the new box and place... no problem with that, she is very clean and covers everything.
This coming week she will have a veterinary visit for evaluation.

UPDATE FOR HELEN PURRIN WELLNESS VISIT:
Helen was taken to visit the veterinary doctor for her first wellness evaluation after adoption.
Basically she is doing very well except a couple of findings:
1. During the otoscopic exam it was found that internal ears were filled with lots of black debris, so a sample was taken to microscopic exam and results came up with bacteria that are being treated with antibiotics. Fortunately, result was negative for Ear Mites that is a known severe issue in cats.
Doctor performed deep ear cleaning with a solution and gave a prescription of Tresaderm, so we need to put few drops in the morning and nights at Helen's ears. A follow up will be in two weeks.
2. Doctor found redness around the eyes and prescribed antibiotic Lysine Gel to be mixed with the wet food in the morning and nights.
3.Doctor recommendation was the use of drug REVOLUTION to be applied once a month at the skin to prevent fleas, ear mites, heartworm disease, hookworms and roundworms.
4. Helen's weight was 11.8 lbs.
In general, Helen behaved well during transportation and at the vet clinic., just lots of meow meoww..
Helen continues to bond more and more with all of us, sharing more time with us and follow us everywhere.
She still show little nervous with some type of noises, we think that will be gone after some time.
Helen does complain a lot when taken for medicine on the ears, oh boy!!... she doesn't like that!!
She also complains a lot when trying to put a harness, still can not be done, she makes lots of noises....maybe at later time.

Helen's Update 03-08-2017:
Well, this update is about Helen's last vet visit for follow up on ears / eyes adaptation progress.
1-The new otoscopic lab exam came up clean of bacterial elements. That means the previously drops prescription helped to keep her ears canals clean. However, just for ears maintenance, it has been prescribed a cleaning solution "OtiRinse" for a once a week application.
2-For the eyes redness, they are much better now, and to prevent any come back of bacteria, vet prescribed a couple antibiotic ointment "Terramycin" until finish it.
Also, vet recommended the continue use of previous "Lysine Gel for cats", as it provides a good immune system support. The gel is mixed with wet food, and Helen love it!!
Helen's next scheduled vet visit will be in June for the T4 test and SuperChem blood test.
Helen continues eating very well, using the two litter-boxes and she loves to sleep for hours!!
In regards to Helen's adaptation, WOW!!..it has been amazing how fast it has been in less than two months!!..
I can say now that Helen is 100% adapted and bonded to everyone at home. Helen has became a wonderful and a blessing member of the family. We give her lots of love everyday and we receive from her lots of affection.
Everyday she shows something new about how intelligent this breed is, she detects when we are going out, she is very playful, she spent lots of her time with us, she loves to be around.
Helen is known here for being an "early bird" because she jumps to bed and meow a lot close to our ears to wake up us every morning before 6 am, even on weekends!!..OMG!!... but we don't mind, we love her so much!!
The only thing we have noted in her is that she doesn't like to be held, she make like cry noises, no bites, but for medicines is necessary to do it.
Other thing she doesn't like is to be pet in her belly, i don't know why. Is that normal in cats??
Other than that, Helen loves to be pet on face, ears and top her body from head to tail.
