JEWEL
Lonely single tortie girl seeking catless and lonely parents.

Want dedicated attention (no other cats, please), but those woofer types are okay as long as they don't interfere with my time with you. Diva-ish, but can be conned into forgiving any transgressions (particularly those transgressions that involve the vet) if you sit down with me and let me purr on you.

If you think you have room in your heart and your house for a gently used older and loving cat, email foster meowm!

Notes from Home
Jewel's First Anniversary with us.

Jewel has settled in like she owns the place, and us! We are her devoted servants and she is quick to let us know in no uncertain terms via LOUD meowing if we have displeased our benevolent Queen.

She spends time sleeping in her millie bed (complete with pet heating pad) on the couch, a recliner near the sunroom window, and a two-tiered basket in the library beside the bay window.

She enjoys the extensive nature programming on the sunroom window channel (birds and deer), the french door channel (more birds and the cat next door), and the bay window channel which hosts the late night moth show.

Our resident red-shouldered hawk saw Jewel basking in the sun on the hassock in the sunroom and tried to attack her through the window. I heard a loud Bonk! one afternoon and saw the hawk sitting on the deck railing outside the window shaking his head back and forth. Jewel, oblivious to the excitement, continued to sleep in the sun.

Jewel has her established routines. She loves to have her belly rubbed and will stretch out on her back and lift her front paws in the air as if to hug us when one of us approaches her. She is quite talkative and demands attention. My husband likes to play games on the computer and Jewel will hop up and sit in front of the monitor forcing him to pay attention to her.

Jewel's Seventh Anniversary! Where has the time gone?
Jewel is an old lady now at almost 19. She has a few health issues; arthritis in her knees and she had a staph infection which caused her belly fur to fall out. That was treated successfully with antibiotics. She was also diagnosed with diabetes. I did some research and decided to switch her diet from kibble to a high quality canned cat food and the diabetes went into remission within 9 days! So, no insulin for Jewel but I have to keep an eye on her blood sugar. She is going deaf and can no longer distinguish where sounds come from although she can hear loud sounds. She divides her time between her basket in the bay window and sleeping on her fuzzy blanket on my bed. In the winter she has a heated cat bed which she loves. Lately, she has begun to roll off the bed in her sleep. Not sure how to prevent that. She can no longer jump onto the bed or into her basket so I have steps for both locations. She's not spoiled. Nah. Her litter box habits have slipped and she now likes to pee on the bathroom floor. We have reached a truce with the help of puppy pads. She continues to be a delightful companion and we have snuggle time every day. Love my kitty!

Can't believe Jewel and I have been together for 8 years! My, how time flies. Jewel, who will turn 20 in May, has begun the long slow decline in health common to cats with renal disease. She is down to 9.5 lbs in spite of my attempts to fatten her up and her hindquarters are thin. Her arthritis has progressed and she is stiff. I have her on gabapentin for that and it has helped quite a bit and she is moving around easier. She takes amlodipine for high blood pressure and also gets glucosamine treats daily. Tried the powdered cosequin on her food but it made her vomit every time so I gave up on that. She sees the vet pretty frequently these days. She has idiopathic cystitis and her urine is bloody but no bacterial infection recently. She pees on the puppy pads around the litter box which works well. I have given her a lower litter box which is easier for her to climb in and out of. She loves to pee down the vent in the bathroom so that is now covered with a puppy pad too. She sleeps a lot more now and sometimes she is hard to wake up if I need to move her. She still loves to help me make up the bed and has quite the temper if I move her.

My 21 year old niece moved in with me last May and Jewel loves Lauren to death. She follows her around the house and we have a routine in the evenings where we both lie down on my bed to pet Jewel and she is in heaven being spoiled by two servants at the same time. Now that Lauren lives with me Jewel will actually eat her food normally when I am out of town although she still misses me. Lauren often sits on my bed to do her college homework in order to keep Jewel company. Jewel lives pretty much exclusively in her heated millie bed on my bed now. She gets up to eat, drink and use the litter and to do "paw patrol" around the house in the evenings.

Jewel learned how to push the button on my alarm clock to turn on the music and summon me from another room when she wanted attention. The first time it happened I thought it was accidental but then she did it quickly two times in a row and it was clear she knew exactly what she was doing, the little stinker! So, I now have a clear plastic box covering my alarm clock and Her Majesty is NOT pleased! She spent quite a few evenings clawing at the box in fits of temper until she gave up.

I don't know how much time Jewel has left but she continues to be a delightful companion and Lauren and I spoil her rotten.

LILA
Sweet girl who is good natured and very affectionate. Playful and interactive. Lap kitty on her terms but loves to be petted and wants to be nearby supervising.
Somewhat tolerant of non dominant female kitties and would do best with a laid back male. Has met dogs and would get along with slow introduction to a "not in your face" type of dog.
Lots of FLUFF.

Lila is fitting right in with us. She was skittish as first as to be expected but is now very friendly and will even let me pick her up. She likes to be near but not yet up to lap sitting. She is quite relaxed and playful and enjoys batting around one of the many toys that came with her. We are very happy she has joined our family

Lila is such a sweet cat, she has decided that this is her forever home and has become much more relaxed. She will sit in my lap now and is very much at home here.

Notes from Home
Jan. 2, 2010 --- It's day 7 for Baxter in his new home and what a wonderful week it has been. Baxter is now fast friends with his feline sister, Beans, and his feline brother Rudy --- and best of all he and our dog, Gabe, are also coexisting great. Baxter was initially afraid of his 70 lb. big brown furry brother, but now he realizes he won't hurt him and Baxter now does not run downstairs everytime Gabe even looks at him ... Baxter now walks right past Gabe and will lay down in the same room with him so all and all we now have Peace on Earth in our household. We just simply love Baxter and we think he loves it here as much as we love having him in our lives. It looks like 2010 will be one wonderful year for us all.

June 27, 2010: We just got an email from SCRC for our 6th month anniversary with Baxter. It doesn't seem possible that it has only been 6 months, we feel like Baxter has been a part of our family forever - he is just such a happy little guy, we couldn't be more thrilled to have him with us. We feel so lucky to have been the ones who got to adopt this wonderful soul - he is so loving, so people-oriented and just sheer joy to watch; he has so much spirit and gives life 100% everyday. He and our 70 lb. dog (Gabe) are best buddies and Baxter also loves his feline brother & sister; they all our so close. Our pet family enjoys each other as much as we enjoy them, and best of all, everyone, especially Baxter, seems to love being with us as much as we love having them. It's been a fabulous 6 months, and we look forward to many years of having Baxter warm our hearts and brighten our lives!

March 5, 2011
Wow, has Baxter grown to be a very handsome, striking Snowshoe. He is now a little over 2 years old and has been with us for 14 months. He is such a great cat, full of personality and always getting into some mischief. He and our other cats, Rudy & Beans run through the house and they sound like a herd of elephants. When our dog, Gabe, joins in the fun it sounds even louder. We enjoy Baxter so much and love him to pieces. He also no longer has to take shots for allergies -- he has been allergy free for nearly a year - we think he was just so stressed until he could settle in to a home of his own. It breaks our hearts to think he was ever roaming the streets as a stray, afraid and alone. Thank goodness Siamese Rescue helped him and thank goodness we found him on your website, he has brightened our lives more than we can express.

December 27, 2012: It has been 3 years since we adopted Baxter and he continues to do GREAT! He loves life and we love him ... you can't ask for much better than that. We adopted a new little kitten, "Tybee' from Siamese Rescue on Dec. 22, just a few days ago and we are taking the introductions slowly, but we are sure Baxter will take his new little sis under his wing and show her the ropes. Our thanks to Katie Smith for bringing 2 of the most wonderful souls into our lives.

March 20, 2017 - Baxter turned 8 years old this January; it's hard to imagine that he has been a part of our family now for over 7 years. He is still the most handsome fellow and gets more loving as he gets older. He has always been and continues to be a absolute joy!

Tony continues to be a fun, active presence in our household. His antics are fun to watch and he can keep us entertained for quite a while. He has chosen my husband Craig to bond with...when Craig is working away at the computer Tony is often nearby sleeping or just chatting away. We all agree that he has been a wonderful addition to our family.

3/20/2016--hard to believe it has been two years since Tony entered our lives. He continues to be a fun, active, presence in our household, and as he grows out of kittenhood he spends a lot more lap time with us which Craig and I enjoy. Tony's favorite thing from us is vigorous scratching on the top of his head. I have become a transporter and enjoy working with Siamese Cat Rescue Center.

3/20/2017 Tony continues to be a joyful part of the family. He still scurries around the house with energy but is less of a kitten now that he is over 3 years old. I have transported a few kitties this year and am happy to help this wonderful organization.

TOBIAS
Handsome, you say????
I know. I am a one year old seal point stunner with just the tiniest speck of white on two back toes.

I like a fair amount of room to play hard by myself, with a wand toy and throw toy with my humans, or with another cat that won't be afraid of my rambunctious behavior. I can occupy myself for hours as long I have stuff. My humans like to admire me, but pay no attention to me when I growl at my toys. I have serious business with them.
I am not much for being carried around, but I will follow my humans around underfoot if I want attention- even as they climb the stairs! When I want to be somewhere else, I will let you know verbally and by rattling the door. Some humans are so slow!
I am super helpful- I like to help making dinner on the counter. I also enjoy watching the birds and observing my domain at the very top of the cabinets and bookshelves.

After playing hard or if my humans click at me, I will jump up on the sofa and plop right down beside you for some evening relaxation. I am a super nice guy with lots of love to give!

Ask about me today.

It has been a month since Tobias has joined us and it has been fun getting to know him. We think he is settling in to his new space rather well. Last week he met his new baby brother, Noah-for-now. As it turns out, their play energy is well matched! When Noah-for-now was in isolation the two would chirp at each other and play under the door until they were able to meet. Now they always seem to be together.

We are hoping as Mr. T gets comfortable sharing his space we will get more Tobias lap time because he's so sweet! He's my little afternoon kitchen pal.

Miss Livy Monster is fitting in to our family wonderfully. She now has full reign of the house when we're home and is getting along well with her siblings. The girls were skeptical at first, but are coming around. Randy loved her the second he saw her and they will chase each other around the house for hours. She went to the vet on Friday for a distemper booster and is 3.75lbs. She is such a sweet and friendly girl and loves attention and cuddles. Thank you so much for bringing Miss Olivia Penelope into our lives, we are completely smitten.

GOOSE
Goose, Goose, What a silly little Goose.
Goose is curious and outgoing. He checks out the situation and reassures Maverick it's ok to join in the fun.
Goose loves to be carried around and talks up a storm. At a petite little 8 pounds, this fellow is a conquering hero.
If you're going to beat the competition, you'd better be quick to click if you want this pair to conquer your heart.
.
Got my tracking device, weighed in just fine, ticker's ok - all ready to go home. Now if Maverick would get his act together, we could be outta here and living the life of Riley with our new mum. Get those treats and toys ready, we're on the way home to be her boys.

Goose is just beautiful, and has put on a little weight. His fur has just started to get a shine, he was the shyer of the 2 and still will jump when surprised, He will let you carry him around and purrs nicely when he is snuggled in his bed but is way more nervous than Maverick. We took a few days vacation and the neighbors with kids from 8 to 14 came every day and played with them and fed them and they had a blast with him, jumping high and playing with the toys. I must say I don't think he ever saw canned food, and I am sure he can read the clock because he knows when the good stuff is going to hit his dish, I give the 2 one can at night and one can in the morning and split it between the 2 dished and He is sure this place must be heaven because he loves his fancy feast. and sometimes Mavericks too

St, Patrick's Day 2014 their one year anniversary of us finding each other. We are doing great, his vet apt said his heart murmur is still about the same and he appears healthy and fine. He is about 11 pounds now and looks great. He likes chicken and treats and will let you carry him around now and not be so nervous. He loves sitting by the fire and on top of the cable box where it is extra warm. They have each had their first mousing experience and left me a gift or two, I think he wonders if we brought them in in as toys.

April 3rd a very sad day in this house. Goose Gave us an emergency scare last week when in the middle of the night he filled with fluid and was rushed to the ER, they suspected his heart, we decided to give him a fighting change so they put him in oxygen and gave him Lasix, brought him home Thursday, he was not eating and was acting very strange, like he had no idea who we were or even recognize his brother. we tried everything and he was in very poor shape so we made the decision to put him at peace. possibly a stroke but the decision was very easy knowing he was suffering in his condition. Now Maverick is an only child and he seems to be fine with it more affectionate that ever before, Pray for his peace, and I am still crying from his loss. they are so important to our lives, like children, I will miss his very soft shiny fur and his head butting and fluffing.

TYBEE
Hello - Miss Priscilla here greetin all of you Meezer lovers out there. I just arrived, but I've already shown foster mom what a cute, sweet and happy little girl I am. I already have a winter coat and am as fluffy and round as can be so I could survive the outdoor winter. BUT, I am SO lucky, someone found me and someone else got me into rescue. I won't have to be cold this winter, so I guess I'll have to shed my "winter coat". When the vet clinic did my "test" so I could get into rescue, they said they couldn't decide which end of me was the cutest - front or back. Look at my gallery pictures and my videos. You'll see why they said that. When I run, I "hop", so with my special tail I sorta look like a bunny from the back. My fur is bunny soft, too. If you like blue lynx kittens, I could be THE one for you. Can you figure out which end of me is the cutest? Can yiou figure out why I have my name? Better click on that "ask about me: button and learn moire and maybe even take me home. Purrs, headbutts, foot flops and lots and lots of love, Priscilla

Notes from Home
Little "Tybee' is about the most adorable little creature we have ever seen. Not only is she just about the cutest little kitten we have ever seen she is also a real love bug and real snuggler. She has met her 2 feline brothers and doggy brother only from a distance so far since she has the sniffles and our vet advised us to keep the introductions on hold until she is over her cold. Having a cold does not seem to bother her energy level though and she loves playing with all of her toys and running circles under the bed and around the room. With her little stubby tail she really does look like a little bunny rabbit when she runs.

We'd like to thank Katie Smith and Kathy Hutchinson for helping make little Tybee a part of our family. She has brightened our lives so much at a time when we needed it. We lost our 4-year old cat, Beans, on Thanksgiving Day this year to sudden cardiac arrest. We thought we might wait until after the holidays to adopt again, but then we saw little Tybee on SCRC's website and we fell in love! Tybee was just the medicine our hearts needed.

January 11. 2013 - Tybee is doing GREAT! She has been a little trooper about all of her medications and she is getting better every day, very few sniffles and just a bundle of energy. She is so full of spunk and even isn't afraid of our big lug of a dog Gabe. She and our other cats, Rudy and our other SCR alumni, Baxter are fast friends. Her favorite place is under Gabes food and water bowls - we have a great photo of her sticking her head up from under his bowls watching him eat. It is a classic. We are so thankful she is a part of our lives and can't thank Siamese Rescue enough for doing all of the wonderful things you do to save so many lives that wind up brightening the lives of people like us.

January 22, 2013 - It's been a month since we brought little Tybee into our home & family. She continues to get cuter everyday and has made herself right at home. She is fascinated with shoes and loves to hide her toys in them and sometimes she will stick her head all the way into the shoe - her sense of smell must not be that good. :) She looks like she is going to be a very petite little girl, but what she may lack in size she makes up for in spunk. The only thing we have found she is afraid of is the vacuum sweeper, but other than that nothing bothers her. She goes back to the vet on Feb. 2nd, but she is doing much better with her UR and only coughs once and awhile. She is just one bundle of cuteness and we love her to pieces!

May 14, 2013: Tybee is just so darn cute, so full of life and personality plus. She loves running up and down all 3 flights of stairs at break neck speed and then either running up to the window to chase away the birds at the feeder or she's pouncing on either Rudy or Baxter (her feline brothers). These poor guys haven't had a minutes peace in the last 5 months since she arrived. We love her so much and she has brightened our lives more than we could ever have imagined.

September 25, 2013: Our little Tybee will be turning 1 year old next week on Oct. 1st. It's hard to believe she has only been in our lives for 9 short months. She truly is the happiest cat we have ever seen - she just loves life to the fullest and she makes us smile everyday with her antics. She is still a very petite little girl with that stubby tail, but she has more spunk than a cat 3 times her size and she is just so darn loving, you just want to hug her to pieces when you pick her up. She certainly has strung a set of lights around our hearts and brightened our lives so much. We couldn't imagine our lives and home without her. Many thanks to Katie Smith and the rest of the SCRC volunteers for saving all of the little souls like Tybee so people like us can make them a part of our family!

December 22, 2014: It's been 2 years since Tybee joined our family and she continues to be a source of absolute joy. She is so darn cute we are always checking people's pockets when they leave our house to make sure they aren't stealing her. She wound up being a very small little girl with a HUGE personality. Since adopting Tybee and Baxter (in 2009) we have been doing Meezer Express runs to help others share the joy of adopting. SCRC does amazing work!!!

March 16, 2017: It's been 4 years since we adopted Tybee and everyday we love her more and more. She is a hoot to watch run down the hall, she does it sort of sideways and is in constant motion. She is just too adorable for words. She makes us smile everyday. We can't imagine our home without her.

CHULA
I've been settling in and so far I am not happy when any of the other cats come near my playpen. I have excellent litter box habits and have learned to like wet food, along with the kibble meowmy give me.

I like it when she pets me, but am unsure about this "lap" thing she's trying to get me to sit on. My isolation time will be up on February 2, so then maybe I'll give up some more of my secrets and then you can ask about me.

So, for now, I'm going to chill out for a few more day.

New update 3/15/2017--- has it been two years already? Every day with Chula is a treasure in my memory. She is so beautiful, her soft fur is darkening more and more, you would hardly recognize her. I planted an apple seed some weeks ago and it grew to about 3 inches tall and had 7 leaves before she snacked on the leaves and pulled the little tree out of the pot. I have planted some catnip seeds in little pots for her this week. I am doing some spring cleaning, moving some furniture around and changing things up a bit. Doesn't bother her a bit. She is a happy, healthy cat and I love her so much. God bless you all and thank you for all you do. Kylan
