Notes from Home
Lily is energetic, curious, outgoing, and incredibly loving. She gets along well with the resident cat. They play with each other, chasing the laser pointer together, and watch birds together. She loves the computer, and knows how to type. She is incredibly smart. She knows how to throw books into a water tray and stand on top of it to avoid her feet being wet. She dragged the aluminum foil out of the way instead of stepping on it and continued to walk. She's learned how to open the door both ways and we believed, she knew how to close the door too.

We took her pictures and sent them to Fancy Cat magazine for cute kitten contest. She got into the finalist!!!

She used to have a broken meow, but now she has found her voice. We brought home a dog, and she gets along well with the dog! Even though she eats the dog food, bounce on the dog's tail and his leash, chases his toys, kicks him off his bed to sleep on it, etc. she gives him kisses. She thinks she's the queen of the house.

Lily passed away on February 28, 2017 from acute liver failure and acute diabetic ketoacidosis brought about by an unidentified cause. Between the last update posted above (ca. 2013) and her passing, we added two additional dogs to the family, as well as numerous foster dogs that came in and out of our home. She dominated all of them with an iron claw. She was an enormous personality in a very small body. She taught us the joy of having a Siamese cat and our family was blessed beyond words to have had the opportunity to have her in our lives, even if it was for far too short a time.

STILL HORACE
Mama says that I am a "fine fellow!" I'm statuesque, long and lanky. I've got a real Meezer voice too. I come when I'm called and I push right into her hand for pets. I love toys and playing.

I like to be in bed with you. I need LOTS of attention. If you need LOTS of attention, I can give that to you!

I am a bit underfoot, because I want attention, so regrettably, no Senior Citizens or small children for me. I can get along with other cats, most of them, but I would do well if I were your only soul-cat-boy.

Lyra is doing very well. Sorry I had a very long update written and lost in when I tried to upload pictures. Lyra had allergic dermatitis from before we adopted her and she would have a few flair ups when we moved to California every four to six months. Her vet said that she was a good candidate for immunotherapy to help with her allergies so we started that in the fall of 2016 and even though she is no fan of getting an injection every two weeks she has had no allergy issues in over six months. Lyra is also much more confident in the last year than in the previous years. Lyra used to be very shy and hide from new people who visited for a day or so but now she will greet a new person within an hour or so and make friends with them. Lyra is also much better at setting boundaries with her cat roomate Khan who wants to play more often than her. She does appreciate him though and will seek him out every day or so to allow him to groom her for a few minutes before she smacks him to let him know thats enough attention for one day and walks away. Poor Khan doesn't get the mixed signals. He seems to love her more than she loves him.

Lyra is very sweet and still has the predictable habit of preferring women over men, or at least humans with higher voices over humans with deep voices. She has picked Danielle as her favorite person and will jump out of my lap to greet Danielle at the door if she is coming home.

Overall Lyra is doing great, more healthy and confident than ever.

ASTRUD
I'm looking for a quiet home to share with you. I have lived in a few different situations in my short life so I can tell you a bit about what I like and don't like. I loved my person in my last home but not that pesky other cat that lived there so this time I'm hoping to be the one and only.

Notes from Home
After two weeks with us, she is doing well. She is very social and likes to spend much of the time in the same room as us, watching or just being around. At the end of the first week, she started sleeping at the foot of our bed at night. The one thing she does not yet like is to be touched, although there have been a couple of times when she let us pet her. That will come with time as she gets to know us better.

We are happy to have her with us and think she is happy to be here as well.

We are now at four weeks, and Astrud (we renamed her) is still doing well. She is spending much of her time in whatever room we are in, though she does like her "alone time" too, usually somewhere sunny. She enjoys having a lot of space to explore and to run around. We have not made much progress with respect to petting her, but she does show signs of being happy and wanting affection. Based on her showing affection but fear of being touched, we are guessing someone in her past might not have been gentle with her. She is still sleeping on our bed and is not shy about telling us when it is time to eat.

The vet visit went well. She said Astrud's heart and lungs sound very strong, and her coat is beautiful. She did look at her front paws to see if there is an issue with the declawing; she did not see any issue although Astrud did seem to react when one of her toes was touched. We will continue to keep an eye on it, but she is not favoring that paw when she walks. The vet also said that Astrud was only about a pound heavier than she should be, and that the exercise she is getting should help.

Overall, Astrud appears to be happy in her new home, and we are happy to have her.

PHOEBE
2/16/14 Update:

Fica is out of isolation and enjoying play time with one of the resident cats. She loves "tag" and "hide and seek" games. Foster dad has worked with Fica to earn her trust and made huge strides so she can now be held, consistently comes to us for petting and constantly headbutts to get attention. Brave little kitty is learning that living with people is a GOOD thing!

Found in a bank's window well in Ohio, foster dad thought I needed a "financially" suitable name so he campaigned for Fica. Now after only 24 hours foster mom knows that really means:
Fantastic
Inquisitive
Cat
Available

Sweet, tiny, blue lynx meezer, snuggle bug in training, headbutting puff of fur. Looking for a home where she can get lots of attention and love to make up for her rough start in life.

Headbutts galore~ Fica

Phoebe is an important member of our family!! She has finally integrated with Perry (our other Siamese) and they have become friends. She's very sweet - loves to play fetch with her mylar balls. She spends her days watching the wildlife (and birds) out back and napping of course! We love her and so happy that the Rescue brought her to us!

PSIPSINA
Gorgeous, fluffy seal point girl. She's a little shy at first, but warms up very quickly. She's extremely playful, but has started showing a snuggly side full of purrs. Would pair well with her brother, Henry.

Check out my new video and new pics!

More pics coming soon - Miss Belle is a big ol' ham and makes a wonderful model!

Notes from Home
“ Spring has Sprung! The Grass is riz… I wonder where the birdies is?”
Here it is Spring and it was the end of winter when Psipsina (aka Belle) arrived to us. It has been a journey! And it’s about time for an update J
For this cat-mom who never had cats before I wasn’t quite prepared for the complexity of kitten behavior that can occur. I’d pictured idyllic scenes of Psipsina and Saponetta (aka Anderson) playing together and cuddling down for naps together <3…. Little was I prepared for the hissing, barking, slinking, roughhousing, not-eating, and not using the litter box milieu that was the result of introducing a new kitten into the scene.
We are now at a pretty decent point with both kittens being mostly ok with one another and occasionally even being super affectionate with each other. Both are using their litter boxes correctly again J I still have to really coax Saponetta to eat and come out of the corners and be his personable little self that I know is hiding inside of him and both kittens are still a bit skittish and nervy. When they are with us individually they are both full of purring, play and affection, but when the other cat is around they are guarded and wary even when we’re with them.
I’ve grown to love them both and their crazy little personalities. I’m convinced they’ll just keep adapting to each other and as long as I have patience and continue to shower them with affection I’m hoping they’ll being to feel safe and comfortable even with the other one around.
I didn’t know Psipsina personally before she arrived so I don’t know if she’s exhibiting any personality changes, but she is a little fireball :D Anything with feathers or strings just makes her day, and if she’s picked up and pet she literally melts into a purring puddle of fur and licks <3
Saponett has had a bit of a personality change since Psipsina came around – he’s become more subdued, let spontaneous in his purring and more stand-offish with Zeno and I. His carefree side is beginning to surface more and more in spurts and flickers. I make a point to really draw him in in every way I know and, with the few nice warm Spring days we’ve had, I can see that the good weather with more opportunity to hang out in the 3-season room bird and squirrel watching is going to be a tremendous solace to him.
So the saga is still unfolding, but it’s unfolding in the right direction for sure. Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement as we get to enjoy these little kittens and seek to help them enjoy their furry little lives as much as possible too.
A picture is work a thousand words – so I thought I’d send a picture or two to sum up Psipis and Saponett’s personalities ;)

Notes from Home
3/23/14 Our sweet lovable Tucker finally arrived today! He is everything and more that foster mom Kathy said. Kathy you are awesome at what you do! You can tell how much love, care and confidence you gave our Tucker as he entered your home. He sends you hugs and kisses. Not a peep out of him on the way home. He purrs very loud but, we haven't heard a meow yet. He loves belly rubs and to be held like a baby. He ate and litter boxed within 2 hrs of being in his new home. Sooooooooo sweet :)

4/1/14. Tucker is out!! Couldn't wait to have him join our family! He is the sweetest little boy I have ever met. He is sooooo laid back, comfortable, easy to please. He is eating the same food, litter boxing well, using scratch post. The only thing he doesn't do well is let his new parents sleep!! He stands on top of us, wants to play and kisses.at 230, 330, and 430 am!! More later :)

4/6/14. Love Bug, that's my middle name! Tucker is doing great. It is as though he has always been here. He is so quite and has a tiny little meow. He is such a good brother letting Izze think she is the queen :) He is the most laid back, sweet cat I have met. Nights are getting a little better only waking my mom & dad up once a night. We are trying to teach him the alarm goes off at 450am! He loves to play chase with Izze. He has his first vet check up Monday.

4/17/14 We refer to sweet Tucker as our new infant! He has his days and night mixed up :) He loves to sleep. Sometimes we have a hard time finding his secret napping places. He decides his attack whether at 2 or 4am!! He kicks the covers, meows, kisses, purrs you name it. Well infants grow out of it right? He and Izze get along so great . Everything we could have ask for. I caught Tucker licking Izze's face and ears. Couldn't ask for more. Just love him!

4/30/14 We have had Tucker just over a month. He is one sweet, funny, loveable, energetic little meezer! He is a great little brother to Izze. Night time has gotten much better. He has learned to just lay quietly next to us in bed. He loves to play, play, play. He lays on his back all four paws up. Quite the funny guy. He has brought many laughs and love to our family😻

5/18/14. I am Mr love bug! I am so sweet but, boy I am full of kitten. I have never seen anything with more energy than Mr Tucker. He has gotten so big and loves to eat. He is very long and lean. He burns all his calories every hour on the hour. The two funny things he does is, he likes to stand in the litter box while you clean it and he lays on his back between my husband and I during the night. He stills has his nights of let's play sleep tomorrow! Him and his sister are BEST friends! We couldn't have picked a better playmate. We love you Tucker💙

7/21/14. Mr energy I am. I love to beat Dad up the steps. Even though he gets a head start I still make it first. Tucker is the sweetest boy. He shows a lot of affection, purrs very loudly and we have probably only heard him meow 3 times since we've had him. He's still not a big eater at this point. He loves his toys and the feather wand. Tucker can jump about 3-4 ft in the air after it. Thank you Tucker for taking care of your sister and teaching her to be a loveable kitty like yourself!

8/13/14. Our sweet little furry boy is 1 yr old today! He has brought much joy to our home. He is a stinker, gets into everything, chews on wood like a puppy, you name it. But even with all that he is so sweet and loving and as an old soul. He follows us in and out every room. Happy Birthday Tucker, enjoy your new window seat. Check out the picture of him enjoying it. XO

3/5/15. Our love bug Tucker has been such a saving grace since we lost our first adopted kitty Izze over a month ago. He has followed us around like a puppy. He has been sad with lots of meows. A new sister came quickly into our family and we are all delighted! He met her for the first time today and Lexi ( our new family member) walked right up to him like she was giving him a kiss. He sits at the door patiently waiting for the door to open. He always loves her tasty kitten food. Tucker is so amazing. He makes us laugh constantly xo love him...

3/9/15. Sweetie Tucker is putting on weight. He has falling in love with his new sisters kitten food. Since she hides so much, he is taking advantage of a "food" situation.

3/16/15. Tucker is happy to have a new friend. No more crying as is was so upset with the loss of his first sister. Playing hide and seek and running around, sounds like a bowling alley upstairs!! Sweet boy :)

BEAUREGARD (BO)
Bon Scott here ready for my new family. While I was named for a "hard rocker", I am just the opposite in every way. I'm easy going, very sweet, purr all the time, make lots of biscuits on my bed, cuddle and love with my foster family and like other cats, too. Think "soft rock" and that's me. When I'm "in the mood", I do rip and run like a kitten, but you can pick me up and I immediately "soften up" and turn into that "soft rocker" right there in your arms. Please ask foster mama, Katie, about me.

Notes from Home
Sibby has been with us about six months now and we can't believe what an amazing and beautiful cat we've adopted! She overcame her early shyness and is a very sweet, cuddly cat that sleeps at our feet and splits her time between our laps in the evening. For the first few months, she was really anxious about food and sat by her food bowl for hours every day and cried every time we came into the kitchen, but we did a few rounds of feliway diffusers and she has completely let go of that behavior. Now, she just meows right before mealtime to let us know she is hungry, that's it. She's really playful, sweet, gentle, and snuggly. We adore her, and are so grateful that we are her companions! Thank you Siamese Cat Rescue!

BACARDI
A little overwhelmed, but I'll warm up soon, as I was already taken in by a wonderful Good Sam who took great care of me, told Aunt Siri all about me, and is anxious to see me get a good home! If you like the dark handsome seal males, then you're going to like me. Stay tuned as I settle in !

Notes from Home
Bacardi has been such an amazing addition to the household! He absolutely loves people, and loves to play. He's a totally different cat than when I met him. He has tons of energy, so we try to keep him active to use it up. He isn't afraid of many new things, he's more curious than scared. He's actually extremely smart, probably too smart for his own good. He learned I take my phone with me to work, and so early on he sat on it so I couldn't leave, or at least had to pet him some more.
My girlfriend made him a tower, and he loves to play and lounge on it. He also lays down really weird, I've never seen a cat lounge on his belly like the Sphinx. (See photo) His voice came out too, he's such a talker when I come home from work.
His vet checkups have been great, and the vet said his gums shouldn't get worse. They're about the same if not slightly better than before, but she thinks they'll be like that for a while. I tested out the stuff you add to their water to help breath and gum disease. The vet said he was perfectly healthy boy, and he's balancing at 11lbs. He still gets his lysine and fortiflora too, just to keep up with his system.
Thank you again, for anyone and everyone involved with rescuing my buddy, Bacardi!

03/22/17 Update:
Bacardi's 3 year anniversary of adoption! He's still a ball of energy and demands his playtime. The last visit to the vet was just the same, healthy handsome man. I'm taking him to a new vet soon, and it's teeth cleaning time. We are still working on his energy levels with my wife's cat, who is and older, daintier, lady. Some new pictures have been tossed in there. Thank you again everyone, for the great addition to the family!
