ROSALENA
Hi,
I'm very smart, inquisitive and interactive and looking for the same in my people! I wouldn't mind a playful brother but I am confident enough either way. I love to carry toys around and I'm very affectionate. I enjoy hanging out and haven't met a stranger yet! Love men and women!

Notes from Home
March 30. It has been a quick week! Rosa seems to be adjusting well, she is eating and using her box with no problems. Working on teaching her not to jump on the counters. She absolutely LOVES going out on the lanai, she was apprehensive at first but now wants to be out all the time. Learning about the cat door is next.
April 29. It's been about five weeks and Rosa has settled in nicely. She is allowing us to pick her up and even sitting next to us on the couch. She still is mostly independent but is mellowing some. The Vet discovered she had a gram negative infection in her ears and mouth but after 20 days of antibiotics she is healed (fingers crossed). She has been in the car to travel about 2 hours over to St Pete twice, she doesn't like the ride but she is getting better about it.
July 23. Here we are at our four month anniversary. Rosa is doing great. We were away last week and had the cat sitter come by daily, Rosa interacted well with him but was oh so glad to see us on Sunday. She has not let me out of her sight and has even started to lap sit so she can be petted and do some head bumps.
September 24. Exactly 6 months! We couldn't be happier, Rosa has become even more comfortable. She is jumping up on laps to snuggle and sleep, something she had never done except in the last few months. She is truly a good girl, scratching only on the posts and has NEVER had an accident. She enjoys going outside on the screened pool deck and has brought a few geckos in as treats for us (oh joy). She still doesn't like the ride to St Pete, just got a thundershirt and haven't tried it yet in the car but when I put it on her she didn't fight (she almost never does no matter what) and was purring.
March 25, 2014 - Our first year together. Rosa has grown even more close in the last months yet she still maintains her independence. She continues to be a very good cat, never scratching anything but her posts. She loves to play catch with her sponge balls, she recently got a smallish cat tree and she has taken to hanging off of it most of the time. We are all very happy.
March 24 2015 - WOW! Two years has flown by. All is well with Rosa, she is fully adjusted and continues to flourish, so much so the vet says she could lose a few pounds. She has in the last few months started scratching furniture so we now use nail tips to prevent any damage, she tolerates them well and the furniture gets to survive so we are all happy. I am trying to take a picture to celebrate this happy occasion but she isn't cooperating (she thinks she is in charge of everybody) hopefully she will give in soon.
March 26 2016 - Another happy year has passed. Rosa is loving life and we all couldn't be more pleased. She tolerates car trips a little better, maybe she realizes we are NOT going to abandon her.Went to the Vet last month for a check up and dental cleaning and was given a clean bill of health. Now if she'd just stop scratching the furniture!
May 24, 2017 It's been four great years. We are all so happy together, Rosa is very content, she has learned how to get exactly what she wants.

MONET
My name is Smudge and, as you can see, there's an extra smudge of color on my face :) I lost my home through no fault of my home and am trying to learn that it's going to be ok. I'm a bit unsure at first and not very confident yet, but I do love attention. I will need a quieter home. I get along with cats, but no dogs, please. If you can find it in your heart to give a guy a second chance at love, then ask about me.

I've renamed him Monet because he reminds me of an impressionist painting. He's very sweet and has quickly acclimated to his new home.

SAKI
Hello my name is Saki and this is my story. A few weeks ago I found myself in a very busy Animal Shelter wondering what was going on. But my luck soon changed when a very nice lady from Siamese Rescue came and took me away. Now I'm settling into my new foster home and enjoying life. I like being with my family, greeting them when they come home, and following them around the house. Staying near to them gives me comfort. Plus I need to keep a close eye on them at all times so I don't lose them! Apparently I am very good at giving face kisses and head butts. In my spare time I prefer just sitting quietly by myself , either in my cat tree, or on the window ledge looking out at the birds. I'm neat and tidy and have excellent litter box habits. I have a very soft dense coat which does not appear to shed much. I am not a very vocal boy, but make little chirping noises when I'm hungry and my mum pretends not to notice my pleas for more food. Mum says I've got a little tummy saddle bag that I need to lose. But I'm not sure I agree. I'd probably do well just on my own or with another friendly, not in my face and age appropriate, cat or dog sibling. I am a very loyal, laid back companion who is looking for a family to love.

Notes from Home
Six happy months have passed since Saki came to me on the amazing Meezer Express! What an impressive organization. Thanks to the very thorough SCRC vetting process, kitty was exactly what I expected and more.
We had a warm but tentative start. However, after a few weeks and the occasional hiss, he voluntarily crawled into my lap one day. Happiness!! My home feels like a home again. My day starts with a smile when I wake up and see him near me. He is not much of a talker but I am pleased to report that he has developed a little purr of contentment. It usually arises with the making of lap biscuits after a meal. He loves his food. Life is good. Thanks to my sponsor-Diana, his foster mom-Jane, all the wonderful Meezer express volunteers and everyone else at the extraordinary SCRC.

TEAGAN
Wow - I have had so many changes in my life in the last 10 days!
First my whole cat family lost our home and ended up in the shelter:( Then they decided I was big enough to leave my momma - that was really hard. After that I got a shot and a couple kinds of medicines - and then I had spay surgery. And then foster mom brought me and Finn and Branna to another new place - it was just too much!
So I stopped eating. Foster mom fed me and fed me, had the vet check me out, and just kept loving me and telling me things were going to be better soon. And I finally believed her and started to eat by myself!
I still have a long way to go but Foster mom says I will catch up. Being with my brother Finn really helps so I would like to go home with him please! We probably won't be ready to go home for 6 weeks or so but trust me - we are so worth the wait!
