PRECIOUS
Hi! Meowmy calls me Precious because she says that's what I am. I just got here and I'm recouperating from my spay surgery s and am doing well. I eat all my food and use my litter box like a good girl just like my mama taught me.

Now all I need is a forever home. Could that be yours?
Hit ask about me and maybe it could be. Better hurry, cause meowmy says everyone wants a sweet girl like me!
Update: I had my vet visit today and the vet said I'm older than first suspected. She said I'm about a year and a half old, and in nice condition. I guess I'm just petite, though I now weigh 7 lbs from all that good food meowmy gives me.

Notes from Home
Hello to All,
June 2009 - We were so excited and thrilled to bring Precious home. She was a good traveler and it only
took her a few minutes to decide to let us pet her, do a roll and go exploring. She seems to have made herself at home, has a favorite windowsills in each room, likes to be with us wherever we are. Keeps Joe company in his office on the windowsill watching the squirrels chase each other on the tree outside of the window. Usually wakes us up with a few races up and down the hall or a game of soccer with a ping pong ball.
The vet was very impressed with her and with Siamese Rescue as well. She weighed in at 8.75 lbs. She loves her food and can't seem to get enough. We will have to be vigilant about overfeeding her.
2010 - It has been more than a year since Precious Penelope, as we call her, has come to live with us and she has been the BEST part of the year. She is so cute and adorable. She has a tunnel which she loves racing through every day, loves balls of any kind and her cute furry mice sent in her wonderful care package. We have bought her various catnip toys, but her favorite seems to be her carrot which she plays with every morning. She is quite smart and learns quickly, except for wanting to get on the dining room table.
We can't THANK YOU all of you, Peggy, Jeanne, Rose, Roy and Siri enough for this wonderful addition to family possible. Joe and Ruthanne

June 28th, 2014
Dear Friends,

Precious, now Penelope, is our very special girl. She has been a joy since bringing her home, continuing to make us laugh, being a gentle companion and charming everyone who meets her. They all say, what a pretty cat. Then we get to tell them the story of Siamese Rescue. She has been to work with me, been to the pet friendly hair salon with me, rides in the car for errands sometimes (not when its hot) and been to family gatherings.
After a serious scare in Dec. 2012 where she ended up in the hospital, with bowel issues; she has recovered completely and seem to be just as she was.

Penelope here, "Just letting everyone know I have a lovely home, in the trees, so to speak. We live on the third floor of a building surrounded by trees and I spend most mornings and some afternoons watching doves, robins, cardinals, crows or the squirrels chasing each other up and down the trees. I have a window seat in most of the rooms so if there is nothing happening in one window there probably is in another.
I have tried all of the chairs and sofas in the house to see which are the best for napping in, one is mine exclusively, and also the ironing board with my special mat on it when my humans aren't ironing.
My favorite place is in the kitchen at dinner time, especially when fish or turkey is in the oven. I sit by the oven waiting for dinner. I'm thinking of writing a Feline cookbook for our humans. Mine say I have very gourmet tastes. Breakfast is Nature's Instinct, canned Rabbit or Duck. For all you felines, especially those with tummy issues, have your humans feed you these., any Nature's Instinct. Mom says there is a special ingredient in them which is good for us.
I keep Dad company in the office most days when he works from home.
Sometimes we go for a short ride in the car to Haverford College. They have a lake with ducks and geese, even herons sometimes. I go in my carrier, but get to sit out and see them up close, they don't even know I'm there.
Right now I'm relaxing on my back in the big chair in the office with Mom while listening to music. We'll go have playtime for treats after this. Mom sets up the chairs in the living room for me so I can jump from chair to chair for treats of course, wave for her, and either my left paw or right paw when she asks for it". (Mom here, "having Penelope respond to asking her for her left paw was easy, it was usually the one she put out first, maybe she is left pawed?
The right one was more of a challenge but she seems to know which to put out when I ask here for a paw tap. So cute."

Thanks to all for rescuing Penelope and bringing us together. Joe, Ruthanne and Penelope.

July 2017 - update -
Penelope here, "Still enjoying life in my "tree house". So happy when the windows are open so I can sit in my windowsills and watch the birds and squirrels or the activity in the parking lot next door too. Haven't been anywhere fun lately except Grandma's house where I get to run up and down the stairs and go explore all the rooms I'm allowed in. It's also fun watching the wildlife at the screen door there too.
Look forward to all my meals and treats too. Love my fish dinners. Mom tells me that the folks at the fish counter at Whole Foods ask what Penelope is having for dinner when mom goes to buy fish for dinner."

Mom here, "Penelope is still our Cutie-pie. Likes to have a snuggle in the morning before breakfast along with a few head butts to remind me its breakfast time. She is my shadow following me around much of the day when I'm home. Too close though when I'm in the kitchen, which is small, where I end up jumping over her or sometimes tell her to sit in the dining room, which works for 5 seconds, and then she's back looking at me with her big blue eyes. If she's not close by we know she is in one of her favorite spots for a nap or in the windows.
Penelope has gotten better about being brushed recently. We now have a nightly session when she comes to stand on my lap or sit on the keyboard when I'm in the office working.
She is a big hit at the local pet food store/groomers where she goes for her nail trim. The staff oh and ah over her and usually ask about Siamese Rescue. (Because your tag is still on her carrier.) It is so much easier to put her in her carrier and drive her 10 minutes than have her fuss when I try to do it.
Penelope still has her favorite toys, her catnip banana, now flatten, which needs replacing, her catnip carrot and oyster, though I also find balls or other toys out when I come home. Still has her daily runs thru the house, up and down the hall, sliding on the carpets. We often have a game of soccer at night before bedtime. She loves rolling balls and catching them. Would be a good goalie. Soccer league for cats anyone?
Penelope has brought us so much fun and joy we can't imagine life without her. I've told her we are glad she became part of our family and hope she is happy here.

Thank you Jeanne for finding me my home where I'm the queen with the velvet paws. Penelope
Our thanks too Jeanne, Peggy, Siri, et al. for all you do. Joe & Ruthanne

KATIE
Another stunning front declawed seal point snowshoe. Mama Katie says she just can't pass up a chance to foster snowshoes. She keeps telling me that I am BEAUTIFUL. Do you think she is right? If you do, you'd better ask about me. I have that "siamese" meow, so I will talk to you when you are around. Everyone who meets me says I am "precious, precious, precious." Oh, and I love to carry on conversations with you and be with YOU where ever you are. I am a PEOPLE kitty.

Purrs and lots of headbutts, Xena - a real "princess"

Thank you all so much for the continued contact. Katie is doing fantastic. She is so sweet. She loves to lay in the sun by my sliding doors and is a total push over for a good brushing. She is very vocal and a great companion. She eats very well and loves her treats. She likes vistors and is very curious of anything new. She's not afraid of anything.
This entire process has been such a great experience. I wish I had more space, I would adopt more.
1/10/13
It's been six months since I adopted Katie. She is such an awesome cat. We are companions. She greets me at the door every afternoon when I get home from work and isn't happy until I pick her up and snuggle with her. This is the only time that she likes to be held! The rest of the time that I am home, she likes to be within eye-sight or she will meow until I talk to her to let her know where I am. She is not a lap cat, but lays next to me on the couch , bed or at my feet. She loves to play with any toy she can find. That is, if she hasn't batted it under a couch or chair. She is very spoiled, with her dry food, wet food and treats, but she is not an over-eater.
Sometimes I will mimic her meows and she will come running to see if I am ok, like she knows what I'm "saying". It's so cute! She will meow back at me like we are having a feline conversation.... really makes me laugh.
She has great manners and is very clean. She has never missed her litter box and will remind me if I forget to scoop it. I would be very lonely with out her and I think the feeling is mutual.
I'm happy every day for making the decision to adopt her.
7/7/17. Katie and I have been together for 5 years now. Time sure goes by! We moved to Florida last August and we both couldn't be happier. Katie loves sunning on the balcony and has two companions, a parrotlette named Karlito and a conure named Valentino. She pays no attention to either of them as they tweet and squawk. My 85 year old mother moved with us so both Katie and my mom has a companion. They adore each other. I couldn't be more thrilled with my decision years ago to adopt this sweet cat. You were all amazing to help us find each other.

WREN
Hi my name is Wren and I am a sweet as sugar southern gal. I have had a really hard beginning and foster mom has worked really hard at earning my trust. I am doing really great with that and like attention very much. I also like food and head scratches... but will do the hiss and greet first just to let you know I am picky about my people. You will need to go slow at first but boy life is so much better now.

I greeted the house cat Dunkin and wanted to be friends. He didn't want to be friends and hissed at me... and ran for the hills. I still want to be friends...Do you have a feline baby who wants to be friends with me.

Somehow I lost my tail, Was I born this way or somehow lost it? It is perfectly okay because I am just purr-fect without it It is kind of cute... like a bunny rabbi and I am quite petite!

Foster mom says I am sweet and cute and my furever home is just waiting out there to find me. Are you it?

Notes from Home
Miss Sylvia visited the vet last Thursday and was told she is in great health. No return of teeth problems! She weighed in at 9 1bs., 7 oz.
Miss Sylvia spends her day under the bed. She comes out more in the evening when I watch TV. "We" are working on a 1,000 piece puzzle together. She answers when I call her. She loves having her ears rubbed so I gave her a special one from the group.
I am allowed to brush her for a few minutes, two or less, and must I stop or else she bites. So respecting her tolerance, I stop.
Miss Sylvia is a delightful lady and a joy to have.

8/5/2012
I have kept her name, Miss Sylvia, since she has had it for a very long time. She is not a cuddler which is fine with me. I enjoy her company and her conversations. She is doing very well. It seems like I have had her longer than just a month.

7/18/13
Miss Sylvia visited her doctor with much yowling and ado. She is fine healthwise all around. Due to her age, advanced blood tests were done to get a baseline. She did well in all areas- her body organs are functioning within normal range.
Miss Sylvia continues to entertain me with her distinct likes and dislikes. She is a wonderful companion!

7/17/2015
Miss Sylvia had her yearly checkup yesterday. She has lost a few ounces which is good. She was a little chunky last year. Everything is within the normal range. She has a new diet food Renal P which she has taken to immediately.
Miss Sylvia has started using her cat condo unit to watch all the comings and going of our neighbors. We are in an apartment complex so there is a lot to see. She ignored the unit until this year. Slow to try new things, but she is willing to explore her options on her time table.
Miss Sylvia is a wonderful companion for me. So until next year, she is happy, content and talkative.

7/4/16
Miss Sylvia has been to the vet for her yearly checkup. She shown improvements in some area of her metabolism. She has become a little more affectionate with me. She now kisses my eye when I am on the couch. She watches TV with also. I guess this year has been very good year for us!!
7/5/17
Miss Sylvia passed away today due to failing kidneys. A very sad day!

Notes from Home
Hi everybody!! My new name is "Sushi". My meowmy says I am Sushi because of my white paws, so I'M fish WITH rice:-). I think she's silly, but I like my new name. My sister and I love our new place too - so much to play with!! When we are sleepy, our meowmy always gives us a warm lap to sleep on and when we're hungry ( and we really let her know ) she gives us a tasty meal!

Today we went to our new vet. I can do without these vet visits. I don't like all the poking and prodding and I DEFINITELY don't like the shots! Thank goodness in was only one distemper shot. We will have to go back in around 4 to 6 months for our rabies shot. I'm not looking forward to that! The good news is that we are both very happy and healthy kittens :-)

My precious Sushi died yesterday. I don't know why. She must have been sick. I brought both girls up with me to visit my parents in Stuart as we have done before. The ride was rather uneventful. When I got there, I took bothcarriers in but left the cats on their carriers until I brought in everything else and set up the litter boxes. My mother said she heard one of the girls sneezing but then e heard some sounds that were not normal. When I opened Sushi's carrier she was on her side drawing her last breath. I took her out and gave her mouth to snout, but only heard gurgling. We brought her to the E-vet and they said she had passed but could not say why. The only thing I can think of is she had developed hiccups in the last 3 months (we were just at the vet in April), but they always went away. Sashimi is fine. I am utterly beside myself with grief.

Sushi and Sashimi are getting so big!! They love to play with the laser light, but they're a little frustrated that they can never seem to catch it :-p Eating like little piggies as you can see in one picture ;-) They get plenty of play time and snuggle time with Mama (me), but when Mama is not available, they have each other. Their wrestling is better than watching WWF!!
In about another month or so, I will be taking them to the vet for their first rabies shot. Necessary evil, I guess.
Linus was wrong. Happiness is not a warm blanket.
Happiness is two warm, purring kitties on your lap :-D

ZEUS
Greetings, Humans.

I am Zeus, a stunning seal point wedgie. I am tall, dark and very handsome. I'm a big boy -- very long and lean. I like to talk, especially to make my wishes known.

Here's what my foster mom says about my purrsonality:
Zeus likes to be near his person -- likes to sit on the couch with me while I'm reading or watching TV. He also parks himself in my lap for as long a visit as he can, or drapes himself over any other part of me that's available. Zeus climbs into bed with me when he wants to cuddle. Although he likes to be with people, he's not clingy. He likes to explore and has climbed on just about every elevated surface in my house. Zeus interacts well with other cats. If another cat hisses at him, he doesn't hiss back or get upset, just backs off. His expression seems to say "What's your problem? I just want to be friends." He's outgoing yet laidback. He becomes more friendly and affectionate every day.

If you want a very friendly, outgoing, laidback hunk of a cat who likes to talk, I'm the one for you.

Notes from Home
At his third anniversary with us, Zeus is still quite the outgoing cat! When he is not sleeping (his sleep is very little), he just has to be with someone. He is quite vocal also until he gets your attention, your petting, or your lap. I think I have mentioned before that he is pretty sharp also. He knows how to open interior doors by jumping up and hanging on the handle while his weight pulls the door open.

Right now he is sitting on my lap, humming, just waiting for his rubs, Oops, there was just a head push to let me know I am being inattentive. We both here just love and cherish Zeus. He is quite the guy!

I will try to attach a couple of pics. One will be of Zeus actually relaxing with Bella, his sister. Another has Zeus after crashing and finally taking a time out.

Zeus is doing well, loves his lap time, and head rubs. He is showing his age a bit, becoming more vocal as he ages and demanding more dedicated time. About a year ago he became very sick and we almost lost him. The thought was that he was undergoing kidney failure but subsequent tests have all come up negative. I think it was separation anxiety as my wife and I were traveling. As a result we board him at the vets when we are away. They love his vocalizing. He also gets to ride on the techs' shoulders sometimes. A previous pic shows him with a tech. I have no recent pictures but will take some and then upload.

Happy 7th anniversary to Zeus being with us. He is doing fine. He is a very needy Siamese, always needing to be with or around someone. He certainly has his routine. He loves to lay on your lap (as he is now) or sit on your legs when they are stretched out. As for health, he visits the vet annually for his checkups and immunizations. In fact he just recently completed one. Other times he gets checked over when we board him at the vets, maybe once or twice a year. The folks at the vet love him. He often rides around on necks as they go about their work. I have attached a recent photo taken today on his seventh anniversary.

MAZZY
A floofy gal who is pretty easy going, I like my two litter boxes, my favorite shoelace toys, and my food. I am good in all habits and am a pretty easy going gal, though dedicated to my owners, and a little wary of strangers, so would prefer a quieter home.

Notes from Home
Mazzy has been renamed to MIMI. She has adjusted well for the most part. I think she'll always be a sensitive and cautious kitty. She is easily startled and doesn't like new situations. She is very affectionate at least to me, since I'm her main caregiver. She love's being brushed, a good thing since being long haired , she sheds like crazy. We've had occasional problems with inappropriate peeing outside the litter box even after switching to Dr. Elsies cat attract litter, and having 3 litter boxes. Her boxes must be perfectly clean. She's also a picky eater, we've switched her over to a healthier diet, and she has put on a pound. I don't think she'll ever be a fat cat. She also has a lot of dry crusty build up in her ears. They are very sensitive too, since cleaning at the vets seems to make it worse. It was decide that the best thing to do was to leave them alone. Otherwise she seems to be very healthy.

ANGELICA
Hi! I'm Angelica.
I have to tell you right off the bat, I'm a talkative, chatty girl. I'm sure we could hold some great conversations about so many topics. Maybe the weather or what's on the menu for the day.
Meom tells me I'm such a good girl. I settled right in with all my good habits. I'm still a little apprehensive but I LOVE attention. My favorite thing to do is tunnel under blankets. Meom thinks I might have some mole genes in me! Oh, Ha Ha, she's real funny!
Do you need a sweet Siameezer to keep you company and carry on in-depth conversations?
I'm beginning to get used to the atmosphere here so we're not sure if I'll like the other kittys or not. I think I like to play. Meom is trying to see which toys I like the best.
You can ask her questions about me if you click the 'Ask about Me' button.
Go ahead so we can get to know one another!
Chirps, Angelica

7/21/14

Angie had her first of two surgeries to remove all of her mammary gland tumors. Today our vet removed all the glands on her right side which showed more activity then the glands on the left. She sent in the largest tumor to be biopsied.

Angie did well through the surgery and after, although she has to be in pain. The poor girl has a 6 inch incision...ouch! We brought home pain med to give her orally, and antibiotics to begin giving her in her food tomorrow. Although we're technically only supposed to give her the pain medication every 8 hours, we were told to give it to her as needed and to come back and get more if necessary.

We're set her up in her "safe" room again and are going to try to keep her there for a couple of days, but she is already trying to come out. I'm pretty sure she is going to want to sleep with us tonight...oh well...maybe she won't meow all night and keep us up! :)

Unless a problem develops, we are supposed to bring her back in 14 days to be checked. The second surgery most likely won't be performed for at least 45 days or more so she has a chance to completely heal.

Thank you to Siri and the SCRC for helping us financially with Angie's operation! We so appreciate all the support, both the concerned emails from Carol, Diana and Siri, and financial.

On a lighter note I wanted to let everyone know that Angelica has completely warmed up to her new home and has laid claim to Chuck's lap. (He's in seventh heaven, as he was concerned that we might adopt a cat that wasn't a lap cat.)

I'll update Angie's page to keep everyone in the loop as to how she's coming along.

7/23/14

Angie is doing great! She continues to eat with her usual enthusiasm and also use her litter box. She appears to be in less pain and has decided it's time to come out of her safe room and roam the upstairs again. The surgery site continues to look healthy. She's still, obviously, moving a bit slower and is a little more cautious about doing any jumping (which is a good thing.)

7/29/14

Great news!!! Angie's biopsy showed negative for cancer. Woohoo! The vet does, however, recommend getting the other mammary glands removed (they are starting to show signs of tumor growth). When we take Angie back to see her for her post-operative exam on Monday the 4th, we will go over everything in more detail. Obviously, we want to give her as much time as possible to recover from the first surgery.

Angie is very comfortable and appears to be happy here. She is always affectionate and loves attention. She has decided that she will join us in the living room in the evenings, sleeping on Chuck's lap or next to me on the couch and she doesn't hesitate to greet anyone who comes into our house.

1/26/15
Chuck and I are totally in love with our little Angelica, whom we call Angie. She is so loveable and sweet. She loves her new bed, being scratched and pet, laying on Chuck's lap when he's in his armchair, and loves her food! She has put on weight since we adopted her in July, but we cut back on her wet and dry food and hopefully this will at least keep her from getting any larger.

She and our 14 year old beagle, Kasey, tolerate each other, mostly by ignoring each other. Kasey will sometimes go out of her way to avoid her, which leads us to believe that Angie has claimed ownership of the title "Queen of the House."

We are very happy with VASiamese rescue and have recommended your organization to everyone.

7/3/17

It's been awhile since I updated Angie's page. She and I have gone through some huge changes in the past couple of years. In the fall of 2015, we moved from our townhome into a single family home. Angie didn't seem to have any problem "taking over " her new home! She and our beagle, Kasey, still continued to get along by ignoring each other, with an occasional stealth swipe from Angie's paw if the dog passed too close to her.

In the spring of 2016, my husband, Chuck, passed away from a long battle with lung cancer. During his last couple of years, he would spend a lot of time in his recliner with a comfy blanket over him. Angie misses the long naps she used to take on his lap. I had to put the dog, Kasey, shortly after due to failing health (she was 16!). I don't believe Angie misses her one iota!

In the fall of 2016, my daughter and her family moved in to help with finances, both theirs and mine. With her came my son-in-law, my 11 year old grandson, my 2 year old grandson, a female lab mix named Mimi, a gray, mostly blind Tabby named Anna and a black and white "hell" cat named Nellie. It took Angie 3 months to finally decide to reclaim her kingdom by coming out of my bedroom where she had been hiding out. She is now the "Queen" of the house again, and would prefer to be the only animal. She tolerates the dog (both sleep with me) but hisses and swipes at the cats whenever they get too close to each other.

With people, Angie is loving, talkative and demanding. She has to check out everything that is going on. We call her the "Comfort Cat" because she runs to my 2 year old grandson whenever he starts crying, meowing, purring and rubbing up against him! She has also developed a fondness for loose laundry, often dragging my 11 year old grandson's dirty socks from his bedroom up the steps into the living room, meowing the whole time!

We get such a kick out of her and she is well loved by all.

SHARONA
Happy cat that loves to be petted and loved. I was adopted and then there were issues not due to me at all. Now I am back at foster moms looking for another home. Nothing not to love.

Notes from Home
Oh my goodness, where do I start with our precious and dear Sharona! She is the most laid back, calm, loving kitty I've ever seen! We are so in love with her. Of course the house is now hers! She has picked out a couple of favorite hangout spots where we can always find her if she disappears for a while. Nothing phases this cat..nothing..not loud noises, loud music, doors opening and closing, pots in the kitchen banging, or people coming and going, however she is still a little skeptical around new people. You can pet her anywhere, even her paws! She just doesn't mind, actually she wants you to touch her all of the time. If you aren't quick enough to pet her, she'll let you know. She'll walk up on your chest, lay by your head or even do the rubbing for you if she can get to your hand or even foot!

She is such a love and we are so thrilled that she has also chosen us. I do believe that she has adopted us and we are exclusively hers! She wakes me up every morning at 6:30ish! You can set your clock by it! No more sleeping in for this retired lady!! She gets up on the bed and lays down on my pillow beside my head, so close that her whiskers are almost in my eyes! And purrs so loud that who needs an alarm clock! But then I am the lucky recipient of a wonderful kneading neck massage for the next several minutes. Ok, so I have to wake up early, but she always makes it worth it.

We bought her a cat tower, but so far she prefers a stool by the window, the back of the sofa, or my pillow. Oh well, in time I guess! After showering me with her wonderful and gentle kneads, she loves to sit by our bedroom window and watch the trees and birds. And she will definitely let you know if the blind is not high enough for her to see out! She is so funny and so precious. I am sharing several pics I've taken of her. I take them constantly! We have a screened in front porch that she likes to roam around while we are out there. And she has a few favorite toys. She loves the catnip shark that we got her and loves the cube! We have had no litterbox or food issues but I am afraid that I have spoiled her a little with her treats! I bought her some 'teeth cleaning' healthy treats that she loves. I don't know what they put in those things but she is addicted!

We also had our first vet trip the first week she was here, and boy did she let me know that getting back in that crate did not make her one bit happy! However at the vets she was amazingly calm. Didn't mind the vet picking her up or examining her. Truly amazing compared to the trip there! Who knew!!

Well I need to run....and pet my baby. I can hear her calling for me! Thank you Siamese Cat Rescue Center for allowing us to adopt this gorgeous and dear Sharona. We could not have made a better choice for our family. You all were amazing at your attention, caring, and willingness to travel to get her here to us in North Carolina. I think she knows she's home and very loved (except for the crate thing!) To anyone out there that is not sure about adopting an adult kitty...well don't hesitate! They are wonderful and we wouldn't trade our adorable Sharona for anything! Thank you all again.

Carolyn and Rob Tesko
and Sharona of course!

THUMPER
I was in a home, then out on the street, then back in a home, then transferred to this home. This is a lot of moving in a month so I am still adjusting but I do enjoy human companionship. I like to receive pets and sit next to you.

i am in search of a furever friend. Someone to talk gently to me, gently scratch my back and let me know that I am home. Could this be you?

Notes from Home
After spending the first few days under the bed, Thumper emerged and let us know that he likes pets and scritches, and thinks he has a great future as a lapcat! And he likes to talk, and talk, and talk. He and our resident kitty Lola are getting used to each other after their gradual introduction. Mostly, they seem to have a peaceful coexistence, but there have been the occasional paw swipes and wrestling. No hissing or growling, so we think they are just getting used to each other and will be good friends!

Thumper and Lola are still working out their relationship, with the occasional wrestling match and swipes. They will also cuddle, when they don't think they're being watched! Thumper went for his first vet appointment and passed with flying colors. He behaved perfectly and was pronounced "a handsome boy"! we think so, too!
