BELLA
I am the Bella of the ball, yet no one wants to dance with me. I wore my special bunny fur chocolate mink coat, and have my suitcase packed, yet my Meezer Express taxi hasn't shown up yet. Outgoing and friendly, easy going and loving, not sure what more you could ask for, especially when I have included my medical docs updated and my travel stamp issued. Perhaps I should move to NYC so my taxi hailing skills improve?

OOPS! Deleted my previous update since I was a bad girl and did not read above in red. Sorry. Bella is the absolute Queen of the house and could not be loved more. She is very smart and already knows words/commands.with very little prompting. We had already told her this was her 2 year anniversary and even sang to her. She is healthy with absolutely no problems and receives her annual exams and every other month nail clipping at the vet regularly. Can't imagine a time when we didn't have her with us. We are both retired so she has love and companionship all day and night. She has worn all the cardboard down on the Imperial Cat Large Tiger we bought her two years ago and now uses it as her "adulation headquarters" by spreading out on it and expecting a total body massage and petting. And she gets it every time! All good news here.

Bella remains the Queen of the house. Cannot believe it has only been 3 years since it seems she has been with us forever. Has now dug an actual hole in the Imperial Cat Large Tiger so she can put her head in it. Why she likes this remains a mystery but we are afraid to buy a much needed new tiger since it will take another 3 yrs. for her to personalize it to her taste. Time will tell. Look for next year's update!!!

Bella loves us! That is all we need. She knows and supervises our morning and nighttime routines. Fine health; just had a total dental with 2 teeth pulled. Replaced the Imperial Cat Large Tiger and she is busy personalizing it.

ZOOMER
My best buddy was a Chihuahua half my size, a friendly kitty my same size and a sweet lady in a senior apartment on the 9th floor. Unfortunately, my first mom died and her friend wanted to keep me but already was at the limit of pets for her small place so here I am in yet another new place.

I've had a lot of change lately and need some time and patience to win my trust, but I'd love a home of my own with a furry companion or two.

Zoomer
Notes from Home
Zoomer is doing great! Integration went well with Esme and we have some nose touching the last couple of days. He is very laid back and she is a little too active for him. He likes to watch her race around though. He has learned to play with the Panic Mouse. He isn't quite sure of the eletronic toys. He has found his favorite window.

6/4/15 - Today is Zoomer's 2 week gotcha day! He is doing very well. He has started coming into the family room to watch TV with Esme and myself. This is new. He was sitting in the living room by himself before this even though I would pick him up and bring him in with us. This is BIG!

7/2/15 - It's been 5 weeks and Zoomer is totally at home now. He and Esmé play/chase, wrestle, and occasionally groom each other. I call him "my gentleman". He is such a sweet guy. A perfect fit!

5/2517 - It is now 2 years since Zoomer joined Esmé and me. He is such a loving BIG guy. He is the first one to greet me in the morning and follow me to bed at night. He greets visitors that come to visit and he loves to watch the lawnmower man on his giant mower when he comes every week. He's been diagnosed with Asthma and doesn't like his Aerokat/inhalers but is great at taking his prednislone. Unfortunately, the meds have caused him to put on weight and he now weighs 14 pounds. His last visit to the vet for a depo shot was pretty unremarkable and he didn't freak out as has been his history previously. Zoomer knows that he's HOME!

Hi everyone,
Here is the Fiona update: Fiona has turned into the most loveable girl. She was our "fraidy cat" at first but has totally changed. Although she is still not a lap sitter (we will get there one day) she wants to be with us all the time. She is not 14.9 lbs. Yep, life is good. Our vet tells me that her weight is ok but not to let her get any larger LOL. She doesn't eat table food but loves her crunchies. . Both girls developed lumps in their tails after the rabies vaccine was given. Of course, they went straight to our vet and she took a sample of the lumps and they are only fatty tissue. We prayed a lot when we felt them. Our vet called me back the same day to give me the results as she knows how much I worry. Fiona has made the largest transformation as she was the most scared. Now she follows us up and down the stairs no matter what else she was doing. She is our shadow cat. She allows me to pick her up for a cuddle and purrs her head off. We love her more everyday if that is possible. Thanks to all who brought her into our lives. We love her so much!

Notes from Home
Hi everyone,
Thought I would give you a quick update on our girls. Hazel continues to thrive. She is an absolute love bug. She isn't crazy about being picked up so we do it for short time periods to try to get her used to it. Otherwise, she is around us all the time. Loves to sit on your lap and cuddle. Both girls developed lumps in their tails after the rabies vaccine was given. Of course, they went straight to our vet and she took a sample of the lumps and they are only fatty tissue. We were so relieved. Hazel has gone from a little over 9lbs to 12.4. Life is good! She couldn't be loved any more than she is, although we try. Thanks to everyone who played a part in her rescue. She has a good home now.

ROSALENA
Hi,

I'm very smart, inquisitive and interactive and looking for the same in my people! I wouldn't mind a playful brother but I am confident enough either way. I love to carry toys around and I'm very affectionate. I enjoy hanging out and haven't met a stranger yet! Love men and women!

Ask soon---

Notes from Home
March 30. It has been a quick week! Rosa seems to be adjusting well, she is eating and using her box with no problems. Working on teaching her not to jump on the counters. She absolutely LOVES going out on the lanai, she was apprehensive at first but now wants to be out all the time. Learning about the cat door is next.

April 29. It's been about five weeks and Rosa has settled in nicely. She is allowing us to pick her up and even sitting next to us on the couch. She still is mostly independent but is mellowing some. The Vet discovered she had a gram negative infection in her ears and mouth but after 20 days of antibiotics she is healed (fingers crossed). She has been in the car to travel about 2 hours over to St Pete twice, she doesn't like the ride but she is getting better about it.

July 23. Here we are at our four month anniversary. Rosa is doing great. We were away last week and had the cat sitter come by daily, Rosa interacted well with him but was oh so glad to see us on Sunday. She has not let me out of her sight and has even started to lap sit so she can be petted and do some head bumps.

September 24. Exactly 6 months! We couldn't be happier, Rosa has become even more comfortable. She is jumping up on laps to snuggle and sleep, something she had never done except in the last few months. She is truly a good girl, scratching only on the posts and has NEVER had an accident. She enjoys going outside on the screened pool deck and has brought a few geckos in as treats for us (oh joy). She still doesn't like the ride to St Pete, just got a thundershirt and haven't tried it yet in the car but when I put it on her she didn't fight (she almost never does no matter what) and was purring.

March 25, 2014 - Our first year together. Rosa has grown even more close in the last months yet she still maintains her independence. She continues to be a very good cat, never scratching anything but her posts. She loves to play catch with her sponge balls, she recently got a smallish cat tree and she has taken to hanging off of it most of the time. We are all very happy.

March 24 2015 - WOW! Two years has flown by. All is well with Rosa, she is fully adjusted and continues to flourish, so much so the vet says she could lose a few pounds. She has in the last few months started scratching furniture so we now use nail tips to prevent any damage, she tolerates them well and the furniture gets to survive so we are all happy. I am trying to take a picture to celebrate this happy occasion but she isn't cooperating (she thinks she is in charge of everybody) hopefully she will give in soon.

March 26 2016 - Another happy year has passed. Rosa is loving life and we all couldn't be more pleased. She tolerates car trips a little better, maybe she realizes we are NOT going to abandon her.Went to the Vet last month for a check up and dental cleaning and was given a clean bill of health. Now if she'd just stop scratching the furniture!

May 24, 2017 It's been four great years. We are all so happy together, Rosa is very content, she has learned how to get exactly what she wants.

PEPPER
High energy, very loving and needy (needing a diet!) I am all affectionate boy with very crossed eyes. Stay tuned this week as a determination can be made if I can manage with other kitties or not. I am needy and definitely quick on my feet and dashing through doors.

Notes from Home
Raven has a new name. Her name is Vivian. Regal name for a regal girl. She still is aloof, not warming up to us. Sometimes she lets us touch her, we will pet her when she headbutts us then she pulls back and walks away. I have never had her sit in our laps, she never lets us clip her nails. I clip our other cats nails but she wants nothing to do with it. She was a terrible scratcher when she 1st came but now she uses one of several of her posts. She tolerates the dog, Bridgette, and tries to play with Liam but he does not want to play. She loves her little foam balls, runs around with one in her mouth most of the day and chases them all over the house. She also likes the little springs I found for her. When I am using the computer she sits on the desk and stares at me. Sometimes she will let me touch her but most times not. She loves her bed, she loves sleeping during the day in my wing chair but just is not at all into affection. Do you think she is happy? I do not want her to be unhappy. We do not know what to do for her. We both want to be able to pet her, hold her, talk to her without her running away. Is it a matter of time? Is there something else we need to do for her? She eats well, her litterbox manners are perfect.

MONET
My name is Smudge and, as you can see, there's an extra smudge of color on my face :) I lost my home through no fault of my home and am trying to learn that it's going to be ok. I'm a bit unsure at first and not very confident yet, but I do love attention. I will need a quieter home. I get along with cats, but no dogs, please. If you can find it in your heart to give a guy a second chance at love, then ask about me.

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
I've renamed him Monet because he reminds me of an impressionist painting. He's very sweet and has quickly acclimated to his new home.

SAKI
Hello my name is Saki and this is my story. A few weeks ago I found myself in a very busy Animal Shelter wondering what was going on. But my luck soon changed when a very nice lady from Siamese Rescue came and took me away. Now I'm settling into my new foster home and enjoying life. I like being with my family, greeting them when they come home, and following them around the house. Staying near to them gives me comfort. Plus I need to keep a close eye on them at all times so I don't lose them! Apparently I am very good at giving face kisses and head butts. In my spare time I prefer just sitting quietly by myself , either in my cat tree, or on the window ledge looking out at the birds. I'm neat and tidy and have excellent litter box habits. I have a very soft dense coat which does not appear to shed much. I am not a very vocal boy, but make little chirping noises when I'm hungry and my mum pretends not to notice my pleas for more food. Mum says I've got a little tummy saddle bag that I need to lose. But I'm not sure I agree. I'd probably do well just on my own or with another friendly, not in my face and age appropriate, cat or dog sibling. I am a very loyal, laid back companion who is looking for a family to love.

Six happy months have passed since Saki came to me on the amazing Meezer Express! What an impressive organization. Thanks to the very thorough SCRC vetting process, kitty was exactly what I expected and more.

We had a warm but tentative start. However, after a few weeks and the occasional hiss, he voluntarily crawled into my lap one day. Happiness!! My home feels like a home again. My day starts with a smile when I wake up and see him near me. He is not much of a talker but I am pleased to report that he has developed a little purr of contentment. It usually arises with the making of lap biscuits after a meal. He loves his food. Life is good. Thanks to my sponsor-Diana, his foster mom-Jane, all the wonderful Meezer express volunteers and everyone else at the extraordinary SCRC.

COUSINS
Outgoing, supremely confident and forward young male, I need an alpha owner and maybe some dogs to play with, older kids and lots of fun time! I'm very curious, busy, and super Siamese with extra toes on my front feet!
Notes from Home
I can't believe it's been 6 months since I adopted this amazing cat! I found out that the rescue center gave him the name "Cousins" so I changed it. His name is now Bigfoot because he has an extra toe on each of his front paws. They are huge! He is so happy and lovable, definitely the most entertaining cat I've ever owned. He's very social and approaches anyone who visits my house and jumps right on their lap, whether they want him to or not! Bigfoot is very curious so right now, I'm trying to get him to use a harness so I can take him outside. He has no fear so I figured he might be the right kind of cat for it!

I couldn't be happier with this cat and I'm so glad I chose to adopt him. Thank you for finding my perfect cat!
