Charlie has the biggest personality we have ever had. He is goofy and sneaky and playful and lovable, he is just an all-around amazing, he really brings a lot to our family. Both him and his sister Luxe have become such a huge part of our family, we really could not see our family being complete without them. We fostered 2 separate times after and failed each time...so now there’s a total of five. Another brother and sister Poe and Vail and our little munchkin cat ,Woki. They are a little crew and they all get along so beautifully.

I am feeling better after getting over my kitty cold and with my brother Marshall, ready to go out and have some fun! Love to play and romp and in general, just get into trouble. Luxe could not be doing better. She really is the sweetest most affectionate cat we have ever had. Both her and her brother Charlie have become such a huge part of our family, we really could not see our family being complete without them. Sorry we're late in updating but the new fur baby is keeping us busy!! What a sweet and happy Meezer O'Malley is!! We love him and he really loves it here with us. Lots of toys, plenty of room, plenty to eat and a brother & sister that love him. What more could he want!! Oh yeah - plenty of things to climb on!! Got that too!!
O'Malley's integration went fairly smooth. As normal, we didn't know for sure but were hopeful. When we brought him in the house for the first time, Lennox & Azul both caught a glimpse of O'Malley. I have no doubt that Lennox told Azul what was going on as the last time both of us were gone overnight, Azul came home with us.
For the first couple of days we kept O'Malley isolated in his safe area. He got lots of attention from us while there. His little purr box sounds like a weed-eater and goes most all the time!! On the third day, we put up a baby gate at one of the doors so Lennox and Azul could get a controlled and supervised peek at O'Malley. Lennox seemed okay but she definitely defined the parameters of her space to the new kid. Azul really didn't warm up very well at first. This really surprised us both as he has been heartbroken and depressed since we lost his good buddy Keegan early this year. We get up early and Keegan and Azul would play, play, play early in the morning and then off to a nap together every morning. Lennox isn't a morning person so everything changed without Keegan. Every morning Azul stares up the staircase waiting on his buddy Keegan. He never comes down. Been really heartbreaking for all of us.
On the fifth night O'Malley was here, I heard something in the middle of the night and it woke me up. I got out of bed, walked into our great room. Still a little foggy from just waking up, I thought I saw a dark streak and then a white flash go by me full speed. A couple seconds later, here came O'Malley up to me just purring away!! And then Azul came up to me just purring away!! Both zoom zooms were on the loose!! We had every door to O'Malley's safe space secured every night as we really wanted to monitor his first week of integration. The only thing we can figure is that Azul went upstairs and opened one of the doors to O'Malley's safe space. O'Malley isn't big enough to open a door yet. The reason we think this is that is what Lennox did for Azul when we adopted him!! It's worked out great both times!!.
Azul and O'Malley are already the best of buds. Eat together, sleep together and play together between naps. Even Lennox is interacting with O'Malley well and playing - occasionally. Special thanks to foster Debi as she has selected all our fur babies for us. Debi's the best!! We are all really happy here at the Coomer house - especially our fur babies!! They are all getting along and playing together better than we could have ever hoped. Even Lennox!! Enjoy the pictures and thanks to all at Siamese Rescue for the thankless task each of you perform every day. You all have brought joy to our household for years and years!! Thanks!!

MIEKA
Mokie and Mieke came back to "Casa Kuck" after their adopter died on February 19th. They are a bonded pair who, as you can see are inseparable. I originally brought them into our program and fostered them from Litchfield CT. , They were first adopted by a woman who returned them to me when she went into a nursing home. They were then adopted by a gentleman in Milford Ct. who died of a massive coronary heart attack on February 19th and I brought them back to my home for fostering for a 3rd time. I am glad to have them back we me and would keep them if I didn't have 4 cats of my own.
Mokie and Mieke cannot be placed with dogs because Mieke reacted poorly to a dog brought over to check canine compatibility

I realized I had not replied to your 6 month email re: Mokie and Mieka and thought I should drop you a line.
Both are doing really well (now!).
Its been an interesting time - both were doing really well and had settled in fantastically - and were fully blended with our existing 19 year old female cat.
Then about 6 weeks or so ago we adopted another Siamese, a young snowshoe female from a local rehomer. We kept her separate from the other three for a week, got her checked at the vet and all appeared ok, until first Mieka, then Mokie came down with a sickness / diarrhea / not eating illness. We took Meika to our vet who prescribed antibiotics. However she would not eat. After nearly 7 days we took them both to the Bedford / Katonah emergency vet hospital (at the advice of our vet) where they were both admitted and put on IV fluid drips. In the end Mieka was there for four nights and Mokie for 8 nights (as his illness was a few days 'behind' hers). Neither ate anything for a total of 9 days (which caused minor liver and kidney issues but it appears nothing lasting) and Mokie ended up having to have a feeding tube inserted in his neck for a few days as he got very thin.
The vets still have no idea what caused the illness, though likely it was a virus brought in by the other cat who exhibited no symptoms. Our 19 year old did not pick it up, which is also strange.
They made it through (somewhat miraculously and $13,000 in vet bills later!) and we are so happy they did.
Fingers crossed they now continue healthily!

Notes from Home
Jack continues to be healthy. He shows no signs of slowing down, although his veterinarian has an interesting chart in her office tha equates his age to be in his early 70’s in human years. He is a real purr machine, and the older he gets, the more loving he is. He is up to date with annual physicals and immunizations. He is an old soul that has brought me more joy and love over the past 10 years than I ever thought possible ( my children are jealous). Thank you, Siamese Rescue for being out there.
