SPANKY
I'm the shyest of the three brothers that came in, and also supremely loving! That's all 20 pounds of me! Yes, I need a little weight loss program (okay, a big weight loss program) but with some snuggles and kisses thrown in for snacks it shouldn't be too hard. Every day I get a little braver, so in the right home with some super snuggling, I'm going to be one big snuggle bunny!

Notes from Home
4/30/17 ~ After three full days, Spanky is slowly coming out of his shell and coming out of his cave to greet us when we come into his temporary room. He loves to be brushed. He is a very purry boy! We have been giving him Purebites freeze dried chicken as treats to try to wean him off the cheaper dry food he has been eating apparently his entire life. He has shown no interest in wet food so far, but we are going to try some of the chicken or tuna in pouches to see if he likes that. For now, we have also moved him over to portion controlled dry Royal Canin High Fiber Gastrointestinal formula, which he seems to like. He is eating and drinking well. He hasn't "met" my other cat yet but they made eye contact when we first brought Spanky in and Spanky hissed at him. They are separated but I have been petting them both with a sock and then sharing it with the other to try to get them used to each other's scent. More to follow.
5/7/17 - So it has been 10 days and Spanky is slowly acclimating. He is such a sweet lovey cat! We moved him to more expansive quarters upstairs, where it is much quieter. He is adjusting well and has really come out of his shell. He has started very tentatively exploring the rest of the house when Cassidy is closed up the the office. We introduced them slowly yesterday - so far Spanky has been hissing and growling, but he has not gotten all puffed up with ears back. Cassidy is just meowing at him and occasionally howling and using Spanky's litterbox to try to assert dominance. Spanky doesn't seem overly fazed by Cassidy's antics so far. Spanky has seemed to make the transition from the junky dry food to high quality canned food. He really likes Wellness Signature Select in the Skipjack Tuna flavor. He is still eating about a half cup of Royal Canin High Fiber also, but he does not free feed during the day. I weighed him with me on my scale, then weighed myself and subtracted the difference. Spanky weighs about 18 pounds now, and we go to my vet this coming week. Fingers crossed he and Cassidy come to a truce or detente of sorts soon.
5/21/17 ~ Spanky is freely wandering around the house and not hiding! He and Cassidy touch noses frequently, but Spanky still hisses at Cassidy right after. But no growling or other distress is visible, so I think we're on our way. Spanky readily climbs up and downstairs now - mostly to follow me around when he wants attention! He is able to jump up on the beds now. He went to the vet, where they fussed over him and pronounced him a handsome gentleman, and we found out that he does weigh 18.05 pounds now. He seems to be eating enough and he doesn't seem particularly interested in Cassidy's food. However, Cassidy seems to be somewhat interested in Spanky's food. Their food bowls are in different locations on the first floor. Spanky seems to be adjusting really well and he continues to be a sweet, purry, lovey boy. I am so grateful!
4/29/18
Hard to believe it has been a year! After a few ups and downs, Spanky has completely settled in. Sadly, he and my elderly cat did not ultimately like each other much, but after Cassidy passed away a few months ago, Spanky became the only cat and he seems much happier for it. He is completely adorable and very talkative! He is a really sweet and cuddly boy. With our vet's approval, Spanky has completely adjusted to portion controlled, canned no grain food and gets more exercise now. As a result, he has lost about five pounds since he initially came to Siamese Rescue and is down to about 15 pounds now, which has helped make him more agile. He is a wonderful boy!

Notes from Home
According to the Vet Bella (Bloom) is very heathy & about 13-14 yrs of age. Her teeth are still good. She just lies around most of the time & eats, sleeps & goes potty. The only exercise she gets is when the stray cat (who adopted us & became a house cat) chases her. She still purrs a lot & loud & likes to sleep in bed with us at night. She is now 16 lbs. She only eats 1/2 can Fancy Feast twice a day (shares with other cat & does eat a little hard but not a lot.. But she doesn't do anything so gains weight. Jennifer , she still has same old habit of not burying but our other cat Midnight buries hers when he does his. Poor guy. We still love our Bella & vet said she is a geriatric not senior. I know who she feels I just turned 74. Lately she is favoring my husband more & lying on his desk all day.
.Keep finding good homes for these meezers. Thank you. This is our third Siamese. Other 2 were over 17 & almost 20yrs old when they passed.

BELLA
Hi there!
I'm starting to feel pretty darn good. Spring is here and the sun is finally shining bright...and now all I need is a home to top it all off. I'm small, love to be carried, use my scratching post, and would get on a-okay with a laidback brother kitty as long as you had PLENTY of attention for me...call me Bella or call my Baby...cause I really am one :)
Love,
Bella

Notes from Home
Bella has reached her one month anniversary here in North Carolina and is doing just fine. She's healthy, happy, and sweet natured. She is smart, also, and quickly learns anything I try to 'explain' to her; very bright and eager to please!
She is also a beauty; such a great coat and wonderful condition; very happy with her at this point. And, most importantly, she seems very happy here and contented!
Sure appreciate all the efforts of everyone to bring Bella to her new home; she is a great example of why Rescue is so important. Thank you to all who helped this pretty girl!
best,
David Harris
March 18 2018. As Bella's 4th anniversary nears, she is doing just great. She is super smart, calm, and has perfect behaviors; she is a real joy and becoming more affectionate every year. Her health is perfect except for allergies but the vet advises they are just seasonal and not an issue. She is so wise and smart; she truly understands words and phrases and loves her rescue brother Wilson who joined us one year ago; every night after midnight is their time to chase, wrestle and thunder through the house; then they both sleep on the bed with me until I get up. Love her to pieces and a very special thanks to the transport people who worked so hard on a longer transport from Florida; especially Shirley Bo who has become a true friend!
Thank you to all in Rescue who helped her find her way here! No new pictures but she is as pretty as ever; maybe even more so.
Bella's six month report: all still doing very well. Bella happy, healthy, and SO full of energy yet she is behaving generally very well. She has good habits, including her scratching posts, and learns quickly if something is off limits; she is very, very smart. She and my older male Romulus are making progress each week and I am encouraged that they are building their relationship. Our rapidly cooling weather seems a surprise to her; since she is a 'Gator Girl' from Florida, I think chilly temps may be a new thing but she still LOVES her time on my big screened porch. Sweet little girl worth all the hard work needed to bring her to her home; SRescue is great.
Thanks!
David Harris
Bella's one year anniversary update. She's great, healthy, funny, sweet, and SMART! She's feisty, too, but doesn't get angry or hold a grudge; she has learned her do's and don'ts nearly perfectly and is a wonderful little friend. She and Romulous are finally thawing and almost snuggling; I can see they are both wanting to, but, Rommy is a man, so, he is slow and unsure ( ha ).
All in all, Bella is a wonderful addition and a positive source of good energy. Thanks again to all her transporters, her foster, and especially Shirley Bo who was a true friend and SR Volunteer in pulling out all the stops to get Bella from Florida to mid-North Carolina.
Bella is much loved, and is truly home.
Thanks, David Harris
Bella's two year anniversary update today 04272016. She is doing great and brings a great sense of fun and happiness every day in all that she does. Wonderful personality, very curious, very respectful of property, excellent litter and scratching habits and follows me like a shadow. She starts purring loudly if you speak to her and she can't get enough pets and pats; just a gem of a girl and still a beautiful snowshoe. She and my older rescue Romulus are getting along much better by now and everyone seems at home and content. Bella is a wonderful joy to have, and, as healthy as can be. My continued thank you to all who worked to find her this home! Love her very much!
David Harris
3 year update; Bella is happy and wonderful and still so smart. Love her to pieces! She had her annual vet visit last week and got all A's; excellent health, habits, and she loves her new roommate Willie FKA Garbanzo! thanks Rescue for all you do!
David Harris
4 years! and Bella is terrific; happy, healthy and so so smart. Just perfect manners and very loving. Her annual checkup was perfect; she does have seasonal allergies which are helped a lot by antihistamines; a few sneezes and she is still full of energy. She is getting along with her fellow rescue Wilson and we are a very happy family; rescue cats are truly the best and I am a very happy and blessed adopter. Love Bella more each day and so glad she is here!

SHANTI
Hi, I'm Electra. I'm a cute, fluffy little snowshoe. I haven't been at my foster's for long but already I'm a lap cat. I eat well, use my box perfectly and was even fairly calm during my bath. I'm a purring machine with a beautiful tail to die for.

MANGO
I was found wondering the streets as a stray and taken to a shelter in Maryland. Once there I was neutered, given all my shots and put up for adoption. I found a nice family to adopt me, but sadly after a short time I was returned due to their allergies. Luckily Siamese Rescue came straight away and picked me up from the shelter.
I'm a very confident, fairly small boy, somewhat mellow in the home, but always busy. Enjoy playing with toys, sitting in my cat tree, looking out of the window. I would be fine with another young companion to play with but they would need to be able to keep up with my age appropriate playing and sometimes boisterous young nature.
I love to talk to everyone. Have good house manners and am friendly and outgoing. My ear was clipped when I was neutered, but don't worry, I can hear just fine. I don't mind being carried, as long as it's not towards the sink to have another bath. I do some leg winding, will sleep on the humans bed, but not on laps yet, and lastly, I enjoy my food.
So, if you are interested in me, contact mum and she will give you more information.
Mango the magnificent marmalade cat.

Update 4/26/18
Hello to all, as we approach a year with our 2 sweet kitties! Mango is doing great- and while we always thought he was a smart and sweet boy, the change in his trust of us and his surroundings has been incredible. He and Chloe have several games that they play that I don't really understand the rules of: one is nighttime chase (I think we all know that one) and another is one I call "tail under the door", in which he or Chloe kind of whip their tail under the partially closed door for the other to bat. There are many others. He is obsessed with our screened in porch. After it snowed this past winter he cried until we let him go on the porch, where he took one step onto the freezing cold cement and promptly reversed course back through the open door. He has also figured out which vents are heat and which are the returns, and plans his naps accordingly. Mango is very cuddly- he will climb right onto your chest for head scritches and nose rubs, and purrs very loudly. He also is very protective- I had a solicitor come to the door one day and he sat at eye level on the stairs and glared at the man through the glass storm door so fiercely that the man actually asked me if he was an attack cat! He is a wonderful addition to our household and we can't even begin to tell you all of the ways these kitties add joy to our lives.
Our mutual stripy apricot friend is doing very well. After two weeks of integration Mango and Chloe are pretty trusting of each other. For such a tiny thing he has a loud voice and regularly patrols our house, announcing himself into every room.
We feel incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful pair of cats. Thank you to all!

Update 4/26/18
Hello! We are steadily approaching our one year anniversary with both Chloe and Mango. Chloe continues to be a wonderful and sweet girl. She still talks to birds whenever there's an open window or she's our on the screened in porch, and she very kindly eats all of the spiders she finds. She LOVES toy mice and she even talks to us sometimes. Chloe and Mango aren't quite snuggle buddies, but during kitty nap time they can usually be found sleeping on our bed within a foot of each other. Kitty nap time comprises about 60-70% of the day, usually.
Update, 6/10/17
Chloe and Mango are very compatible, and are very content. Please enjoy some new pics!
Hey everybody! Chloe is doing great. Literally, within 3 days it was like she had lived here forever. She is a cuddle bug, loves bird watching through the windows and from our screened in porch, and loves her wand toy.. She's eating about a tablespoon of Merrick canned food in addition to the Bistro.
Mango has been here almost 24 hours. Chloe has been sniffing at the door with no hissing, growling or other signs of aggression.
She is such a great girl and we are so lucky to have her.

Like sports? I can run the Indy 500 in no time flat. Like games? I'm a master at Hide and Seek, but I always win. How about Westerns? Cowboys and Indians are one of my favorites. Want to do intraspecies things? I can leap frog with the best of them. You don't need a kitten, or a tv, or a babysitter, when you have me to keep you and yours busy! Congrats Peg in PA!

SIDNEY
I promise I do have some great baby blues. I am just not ready for a picture shoot yet. BIG sigh of relief though. Snuggly bed, chin scritches, sweet talk. This is the life I need. This lady here says that I am super handsome like some guy named DeCatrio and that I am going to be like this character from a movie he was in. Gatsby? She keeps calling me that. She says I am going to spend my life trying to prove to you how much you should love me and I will be rewarded by being a love millionaire.

Notes from Home
Hello. Sidney has the run of the house and is enjoying his freedom. He is quite chatty and loves to play. He and Layla ( my two year old Tortie Point girl) have been come friends. They play race around the house together and play, but still steep separately. Sidney trusts Layla, but is not yet comfortable with myself or James. He definitely has some people trust issues. When he was isolated, I was able to pet him and he purred and showed me his tummy, but now that he is free to room, he stays just out of my reach. He is a social cat and likes to be around us, he just does not want to be touched yet. Other than this, he has adjusted very well. He eats and has excellent litter box habits.
5/23/16: My goodness, this boy keeps me on my toes! Anything he can lift is a toy. No matter what or how big, if he can lift it, he takes it and then hides it: pens, knick knacks, stress ball, laser point, floral arrangements.....he is a bundle of energy.
Sidney absolutely adores Layla and I am thrilled that they get along so well, but sometimes he is too much for her and she sits by me or sleeps by my feet because she knows he won't follow.
He still has people issues. He runs around like he owns the place and is very confident, but still will not let us touch him. He follows wherever I go and gets within an arms length, but if I reach for him, he retreats. Not far, just a few steps out of my reach. Interestingly, he will eat treats right out of my hand.
He is a little cutie and makes a little progress every day.
August 8, 2016
Sidney has settled in nicely and walks around like he owns the place. He still will not let us pick him up, but he smoozes my legs when I am preparing food or treats and is quite vocal when he wants something. Not a typical meezer cry at all which makes me laugh overtime he does it. I am adding a new picture. He really loves his Millie Bed and does some interesting poses.
October 12, 2016
We have had a major break through this week! Sidney now allows me to pet him on a regular basis and even seeks out attention. He is quite the little schmoozey boy! James is still not allowed to pet him, but he is not afraid of him either. Picking up or touching the head/face is still a no-no. He sleeps curled up against me every night and for the past few days even sits on the couch with us in the evening. I am tickled pink with his progress.
January 10, 2017 - Sidney is really blossoming and is a very handsome boy! He now not only allows me to put him, but also James. In the last weeks he actually has started to initiate contact and actively seeks out being petted. He is still not keen on being picked up, but I no longer have to chase him through the house when I need to pick him up for any reason which is much less stressful for both of us.
Sidney had his own stocking for Christmas and unpacked some of it himself. Lot's of goodies inside. The foil mouse and the meat sticks from Sheba were a definite hit! I have posted pictures.
April 23, 2017 - Wow, it's been a year since Sidney joined our family. He is doing great. I have been gone for the past 7 weeks visiting family overseas which was a great time for him to bond with James. He met me at the door when I came home, but is playing coy right now letting me know he did not appreciate the long absence! Since the day after I got back, he got a mani/pedi, he was even less pleased. Tomorrow he has his annual physical and vaccinations. He is such a little cutie. He is also a little devil how got into everything while I was gone. Tore up the toilet paper in James' bathroom and the extra rolls in the laundry room closet; knocked down all of my shoes; starting clawing the living room carpet, etc. Now that I am home, he doesn't do those things anymore. Guess he was testing his boundaries with James. Will post updated pictures soon.
April 24, 2018 - Sidney is doing great. He has come a long way in the last two years. He had his physical and shots today and is in perfect heath. Even the teeth and gums look good! Lately he has developed the trademark Siamese voice and become quite vocal.
He did great traveling cross country from Virginia to Washington State where we relocated to in December. I have uploaded two recent pictures of Sidney. One sleeping in my reading chair while I work on the computer and one on my lap last evening. He must have been very tired as he never sleeps in that position. 😻
