It's a little known fact but, July is Tortie Appreciation Month!!! Who would have thunk that? The month celebrates the joys of adopting torties and you can't celebrate if you are without a tortie. 08/18/2010 ... It's hard to believe that a month has passed already. My cats have always had Irish names, so I changed Xandra's name to Orla (gaelic for "golden princess" - and the names of King Brian Boru's sister and daughter). Within an hour or so of getting her home, she was walking the halls like she owned them. Oh who am I kidding? She DOES own them! I had forgotten how "kitten-ish" a soon-to-be two year old can be, but her antics definitely keep me laughing. Thank you so much for rescuing this sweet baby from the streets of Indianapolis and nursing her back to health.

Hi folks,
Just had my glamour shots made and aren't I a beautiful young blue point girl. I am really getting used to the good life and my favorite spot is lounging on the couch next to foster mom. When not napping, I am active and playful and still very much a kitten. I am also curious and bold and not really scared of new things. Oh, and I really like people and love to have my body stroked and head rubbed.

Ellie is doing wonderfully! She definitely feels right at home here with me. The first few weeks she slept by my side every night. Now, she does her own thing and comes in a few times a night to chase my feet! Shes just so sweet and fun, and loves to play. Sometimes I wonder if she'll ever tire out! Ellie has quite the appetite and tries to convince me she hasn't had her canned food yet, even though she and I both know she has :)

Yes, I just arrived in rescue, but I've been a shelter foster kitten here at the Hotel delShue for a month now. If you are wondering about my name, foster mama says to tell you it is Native American for "little one". You see, when I got here, I was a "little one" and she started calling me by that name, but needed a more exciting name, so she found "Ayashe" - pronounced " eye- ah - she". I like my name and do respond to it already!! I am a beautiful "little one",who will do much better in a home with another "little one" that I can interact with and learn from. I was born to a feral mama and didn't get much early socialization to people, so I will need to be given lots of time and patience and a brother or sister to watch and learn from. Hudson (VA6714) and I are best buddies and love to play and be together. I am always happier when I am with her, so foster mama knows that I need to have a kitten playmate. I learn by watching Hudson play and interact with the family here and am starting to try the things she does and I like it!! I'm learning and growing every day and am a REAL big cuddler and purring machine when I decide that it's time for some love. Be sure to ask about me if you want two kittens in your home. HUDSON
UPDATE: 11/11/09 - I've been here at Hotel delShue for a while, and I['ve taken over. I may be the littlest snowshoe here, but I "rule". I am very vocal (you've gotta love that Meezer yowl), very playful, very cute, very energetic, very sweet, full of purrs and cuddles and just about as sweet as a kitten could be. I love the big cats and when kids come to play with me. You see "I LOVE LIFE and everything about it". And, who wouldn't love my big blue eyes? Go on, hit that "ask about me" button. You won't be sorry. Purrs, Hudson who is still waiting on the "girly girl" name.
Well, I have a name, but you'll have to think up a new one for me. My shelter foster mom and dad couldn't agree on my name - foster dad won. He thought I should be named after the Hudson car since it's hood ornament is an inverted "v" - just like my hood - I mean face ornamentation. Foster Mama thought I looked a bit like Miss Piggy, but what kind of a self respecting kitten would have THAT name. I am an adorable and very precious high white seal point snowshoe kitten who LOVES people. I've been in shelter foster care since I was just two weeks old until today when I came into rescue, so I've been very well socialized. I am a typical busy kitten, but have that cute snowshoe look with a superb personality. OK, OK, adopt me and change my name. I need a "girly, girl" name - what do you think? Headbutts, purrs and kisses from Hudson.

VELO
Just arrived but I'm already settled in, using my cat pan and eating my food. I haven't told meowmy too much about myself yet, but I can't wait for my isolation time to be up so I can play with the two kittens here.
Well I'm out and about and having fun playing. I do poof up and hiss when I first meet a new cat (or kitten) but then I'm ok. Check out my video and new pictures!

Little Velo met her doctor. Just a meet and greet check up. There were ohhhhhs and awwwws all around. Velo loves her new toy, the bouncy squeaking mouse that hangs from the door. All night long I hear the squeaks.
