FAITH
Hi, my name is Faith, and I have Faith that you have a lap for me to sit in and lots of pets and love to give me. I'm a little sad, though, because....well......where are you? Hurry! I love my foster home, but I'm ready to find that lap of my own. I promise, all I want is some good food, water to drink, a litter box, and a lap to sit in and call my own. Ask foster Mom about how sweet I am, but don't wait. I'm waiting and I don't want to wait too long.

Notes from Home
Hello everyone. I am happy to update on Faith. She has come along well with us. She Lets us know when it is time to go to bed and also when it is time to get up in the morning. When we got Faith she had a few issues and I am happy to say that we have worked through most of it. The diahrea was a matter of getting her on healthier food. We cut out the corn and by products and went with meats fruits and vegetables as the main ingredients in her food. That has made a big difference. The other problem was throwing up. We have added a hairball formula to help with some of the issue. No quite over that issue yet but have reduced amount of times alot. She has finally gotten comfortable enough to sit on our laps. She does not like to be picked up at all. But hoping in time we can get around that. Still trying to find a favorite toy. She doesn't always want to play. I even get down on the floor with her and try to get her wound up. She really loves to dig receipts out of the trash and play with that. Faith also has a small cardboard box that she gets in and sits and plays with her tail. Faith really loves canned food but we keep that as more of a treat for her. She is also a very nosy kitty. Open a cupboard or drawer and she is there to see what is in their. I am so happy that we chose Faith. I love her and it is so awesome to look at that beautiful face and have a conversation with her. Some of you may remember that we have a bird also Bongo. The two of them are getting used to each other. Faith has gotten close enough to Bongo to take a swipe at his tail. I have also had both of them on my lap at the same time. That doesn't happen very often but its a start. Faith is very friendly with any one who comes to the house. I'd have to say that she is very at home with Tim and I. Someday I would love to adopt another cat. But for now I think Faith needs to be our everything. Thank You to everyone who made this possible for us.

Notes from Home
My vet and I agreed that Juliana's birthdate should be May 20, so tomorrow, October 20, Juliana will be 5 months old! This is a precious kitten who loves to eat, run all over the house and cuddle in my lap. She doesn't cuddle too long unless she is tired or sleepy but she just loves to be petted and have her chin scratched.
Although she has her own litter box and feeding bowls, often she just follows Vinnie (formerly named Frankie Blue Eyes) to his as if it were her own. My gentleman, Vinnie, just lifts his head and lets her eat. If he leaves she follows him around and I have noticed she mimics some of his habits, like curiling up her paw when she is lying down. The two Siamese get along very well although sometimes I break up their play when They get too noisy.
I recall that Julianna's Foster mom said there was nothing not to like about this kitten. She is so right!!
Anita, Rescue Mom
It is now March 14, 2015, and I am happy to report Julianna is still doing very well. She is a chubby little girl and just loves to eat. Sometimes I have to move her bowl to the counter where Vinny (formerly Frankie Blue Eyes) can jump up and eat. She has not figured out yet how to get up there. (This is a counter where I do not have human food). The cats still use each other's bowls and litter boxes and do not seem to mind. Fortunately, they get along very well.
Juliana's vet gave me tobramycin to put in her left eye (the one that is crossed) but I was not too successful in getting her to actually open her eye for the medication. The white of this eye is still pink looking and I will have it checked again at her next vet visit. It does not seem to bother her, though. One problem I have with her is that she does not want me to clip her nails. However, the vet office tells me that she is a darling when she is having her nails done there?? What's a mom to do !!
Juliana is wonderful and I am so glad I got her.

PETUNIA
Hi there, I'm Petunia. Call me Tunie for short. I'm yet another product of a bad breakup which culminated with me being shuffled off to an animal shelter. It has been a while since I've really felt loved, so I'm just a quiet girl who doesn't expect too much. I like for you to visit with me and point that laser toy so that I can chase chase CHASE it !! Otherwise I'm happy to just sun myself in the window and watch the world go by. At night I'm happiest when I can settle myself down at the end of the bed near your feet so I'll feel safe. I'm a little melancholy, but Fostermom whispers to me, tells me I'm pretty, and tells me that things will get better. She says that this time around the relationship is going to be all about ME and I like the sound of that!!

Foster Notes for Petunia [VA10156] |
Just a quiet girl with a low key personality. She can be a little standoffish as far as being pet and hugged, and has been known to bite a bit if she gets overstimulated, but Tunie does enjoy playing with you and having you close by. Hopefully affection and trust will come in time. |

Notes from Home
Hmmm.... A lot has happened in the 6 months that I have been in my new home. I like this home, in fact, I rule it!
I have lots of toys and lots of places to nap and hide. I either sleep in my Millie bed on on the big bed with Meowmy and Daddy. I'm slowly moving from the foot of the bed to the middle of the bed.
One of my favorite things to do is stare out of the patio door. I will sit there for hours. Meow my and Daddy wonder what I am looking at. I'll never tell! I like to crawl under the bed and swat at Meowmy and Daddy's feet when they stand at the end of the bed.
Meowmy has accepted the fact that I get up on the counters and as long as I'm not around the food, she is ok with it. I still bite sometimes, but it's usually just to tell them that I'm hungry or mad about something. Meowmy made me a BIG scratching post, but sometimes I scratch Daddy's office chair. It's so soft!
Meowmy and Daddy spoil me. I have a pink collar with rhinestones on it as well as some others that I don't wear.
Sometimes, we go on LONG trips to my Grandmeowm's house. I don't like having to stay in the crate at first, but after a while I'm ok. When we get there, there is a big stinky dog. When she gets too close, I swat at her and she leaves me alone. There is also another Meezer there that I've made friends with. She's older, but we still have fun. Sometimes when we are there, there are two little kids that come. I'm ok with the bigger one petting me if she's quiet and gentle, but the little one moves too fast and scares me.
I went to the vet a week or so ago, he said that I need to loose some weight and that I need to eat wet food. I HATE wet food. If Meowmy gives it to me, I refuse to eat. I will eat tuna fish or dry food with chicken broth. But I have lost a little bit of weight.

Notes from Home
Opal had her teeth cleaned and two extracted this week. Her day at the animal hospital didn't seem to faze her a bit. She definitely does not hold a grudge, she follows me every where, meets me at the door when I come home from work and sleeps in the bed with me at night. She is a sweetie!
Opal continues to do well, she is becoming more comfortable and is playing with her toys a lot, she really likes the laser pointer. She also loves to look out the window and watch the birds and soak up the sun.
Opal is such a fun cat! She meets me at the door when I get home from work and follows me around like a dog. I'm nor sure if she needs the security of knowing where I am or if she is just nosy.
I don't think the words "eats like a bird" apply to her any longer, she has a terrific appetite, but she only eats if I stay in the kitchen where her food is. She has also fallen in love with Greenies Pill Pockets. I use them to give pills to Koko, but she likes them too and has to have her treat when Koko gets his pills. If she ever needs medicine, it will be easy to give it to her :-)
I can't believe it has been three years already! Opal is still just as sweet and now has me fully trained to her way of thinking. She has developed some new habits, such as drinking out of the bathroom sink and licking my face to wake me when she's hungry. She likes her catnip and it sounds like she's killing something when she attacks her mousy. She is not a pushy cat, but when people come over she likes to know what is going on and she will sit in the middle of the room as if to say "Look at me". Opal is now taking methamezole daily for her thyroid. She is doing well on it, her appetite is good and her weight is stable. She still has that little issue with using the litter box...but she will go on puppy training pads and will even use a box without litter if it has a pad in the bottom. Let's just say she likes things her way. :-)
Opal is the undisputed queen of the house, and she loves me! :-) She has always slept on the bed with me, but now she has moved from the foot up to my pillow, still not a lap cat, but she will sit as close as possible and purrs when I pet her. She sees the vet twice a year and her health is good. She still loves her Fancy Feast, mostly chicken but the occassional tuna is good, too. She loves cheese, too.
Sadly, Opal passed away on 1/16/15. She was suffering from kidney failure and her vet and I made the very difficult decision to put her to sleep. She is missed by me and her other cat siblings.

BARTHOLOMEW
Just a little squirt here. Full of sweet! I won't be ready to go home until around the new year as I have to gain some weight. I am over two pounds and gaining every day now I am over that crummy shelter cold. In the picture of me and my brother, that is me on the right.
Like a talker? Yep! That's me. I like to climb also. Your leg, onto your should, the bed covers. I promise I will be into anything I want to be into.

Notes from Home
Hello all,
Apologies for not updating here sooner. Bartholomew is doing exceptionally well. His appetite, playfulness, and manner continue to grow each day.
He is loving life and now has two big brothers, Sebastian (German Shepard) and Koda (Lilac Point Siamese), with whom he plays with constantly.
He especially loves Koda and, after a week of tough love, the two are now inseparable. Literally, if we split one from the other they will both cry until re-united.
Bart has grown considerably since we adopted him and his health has been nothing but fantastic, minus a slight eye infection when we first brought him home. His eye has had some frequent discharge, but has been minor and non-frequent.
All in all, everything is going well. We recently moved, which I should probably update our information to reflect our new address. He loves the new house, especially the carpets and sofa. He is becoming quite the jumper.
Well, that's all for now. I have uploaded multiple pictures and I am trying to see how to upload a video via youtube and post link here.
Josh.

CELESTE
My companion, Sapphire, and I arrived recently, and are loving the foster room. Foster mom is in love with us, and we return her affection with lots of hugs and kisses. She wishes she had room to adopt us both!
We spent several months in the Petsmart Adoption Center, so we are used to an active environment, with kids lots of other people, and other cats, who we both like. We have no bad habits. Who will be the lucky adopter who takes us home?

Notes from Home
It has now been two weeks and two days since my beautiful girls came home. Celeste and Sapphire have adjusted very well and have bonded with me, my husband and the Pearl, our dog. They both sleep with me at night and are very glad to see me when I come home in the afternoon. The only glitch so far has been the visit from the Vet. She is a Mobile Vet so she came to us. Both of the girls were not happy about being picked up by a stranger and poked and prodded. It took them a couple of days to readjust but are now happy again. Thank you to all who had a hand in bringing the girls to our home so they would be loved forever.

SAPPHIRE
My companion, Celeste, and I arrived recently, and foster mom has fallen head over heels in love with both of us. We are very, very affectionate, love to roll all over you and give you kitty kisses, chase toys, and have no bad habits. So far, I'm not phased by the family dog here. We also get along very well with other cats and kids.
We are a bonded pair, and where she goes, I go. What lucky family will be taking us home?
