Notes from Home
7 wonderful years with Arwen and delighted to have her as a companion.
6 Year Update: I am so grateful to Siamese Rescue for matching me with Arwen. She's gentle, inquisitive, playful and unbearably affectionate. Incredibly easygoing, she's been a wonderful example to our other slighly socially challenged siamese, Puddy. She continues to steal the heart of everyone that meets here - including vet techs. I'm looking forward to having here for years to come.
Eighteen Month Update: She is so wonderful! Now that's she's settled in she's running around, chirping and playing with abandon. :) She was so nonchalant about houseguests and settled right in with the them, sleeping at their feet, nibbling at their toes! She won everyone's heart and most importantly, I seem to have won hers. I'm so delighted she's a part of my home...
Arwen has grown into a beautiful teenager. Her white coat of kittenhood is mostly gone and she's discovered that she's a siamese now - chirping, trilling and talking to me all the time. She's completely wonderful and love having her....
Well, Arwen's been here almost 18 months now and rules the roost. Warm, outgoing and friendly to all strangers, she rules the roost and her housemate, Puddy. Thrilled to have her here.

ZIRA
I was living outside but I am liking being inside now. I have my buddy Cornelius and we like to snuggle in bed together. I am discovering toys and I really like them. I also like to sit with you and receive lots of snuggle time and pets. I will purr really loud because it makes me happy.
Cornelius and I are looking for a home together.

KUZCO
Are you serious? It's not to be believed that we haven't been adopted yet. We would slot into any home that gives us a lot of attention. What's funny is that while I look the most Siamese, Rahjah does most of the talking. We are SO well socialized and loved that we can make an absolute guarantee that we will walk into your home and act like we've always lived there!

Notes from Home
As you can see, Kuzco has claimed his pillow. He is consenting to share with his bro, now that Rahjah is out of the closet. Kuzco is very playful, active and in good shape. His brother on the other hand, is going to be doing kitty treadmill. He is a true couch potato (bed potato)
Kuzco follows me everywhere when I move around the house. He is there to greet me when i get home. Great cats!
2/7/11 -Kuzco is doing great. Starting to come out of himself, and not be over shadowed by his big brother. Very demanding about his "playtime". Demanding more and more attention for himself, and not content to be on the sidelines...becoming vocal..very loving cat.
2/20/11- I love my Siamese kitties. Rajah , who is now kind of known as Yappa cat, or yellow cat. he comes to those names..I have him successfully doing cardio now. we play chase. i start running, and he picks it up, then as soon as i get tired, he and Kuzco start playing chase. Yappa cat no longer looks like a fat Buddha. he is trimming down and muscling up. He even plays with Kuzco's fishing rod, and has been known to do a somersault or two.
Kuzco, on the other hand, is turning into quite the lap cat, and getting very vocal. if i don't play with him in his time frame, he jumps on the counter to retrieve his toy, and brings it to me. Ballsy little butt head. He's got his own stubborn streak, that was just overshadowed by his brother. They are more evenly matched now, and peace reigns the majority of the time. Their individual personalities are really emerging. Love em both much.
3/8/11 - Kuz is doing great! He is playing harder, getting more belly rubs, and now DEMANDS attention rather than asks for it. After all it is his due...
8/20/11 = Kuzemon as he is known now (short for kuzzie man), is a little (not so little), love muffin. He loves his tail patted, and loves to chew on my foot...strange cat. Absolutely LOVE this cat and his brother. We play all the time, and if i am in the house, he will not let me out of his sight. He has to be next to me at all times. He even gets jealous when his bro gets attention, and tries to insert himself between up. Raj does not appreciate that!
1/19/13: It has been two years since I have adopted my boys. They continue to light up my life. As I write this, Kuz is next to me, belly up for patting, sound asleep. Still absolutely love my "little" kitties. Kuz has gotten quite lazy, and does not play as much...he would much rather be a pat and purr machine. he is a very chunky monkey. and occasionally he will be encouraged to play by his other brother Kittily. But mostly, he is Momma's boy.
3/13/14 - Kuz continues to thrive, and be momma's boy. we are in touch with his former mom. He just lost his other kitty friend and is a bit depressed. Rajah too, is missing the other kitty, cuz they were play mates and best froends. Kuz is a little on the overwt side and needs to do some aerobics and palates. a new kitty toy will take care of that.
Sadly Kuz died of liver failure the other day at age 14.
He was the most loving cat I’ve ever known, and will be missed more than I can say

GATOR B
A lovely dedicated boy who adored my previous owner who is going into a nursing home, and can't take me. I am four paw declawed which is nice for some of you, however this means I am super picky in my litterbox habits - I need two boxes, no chunky litter, immaculate conditions because my feet hurt from that declaw years ago. I'm a big guy, but I am loving and interactive! Perfect in all habits here and in great health, I'll bring a bag of my food with me as well as my comfy bed!

Notes from Home
Gator aka Samson has been to the vet for his "2" week check-up and rabies shot. As on the ride home after adoption, the ride to and from the vet's office was traumatic, with vomiting, poop and pee. I felt so badly for him - his eyes were bleary, and his meows so plaintive. He must go back for a dental cleaning but I'm delaying that for a couple of months so he can adjust after this appointment. It took him 2 days to recuperate.
He appears to like it here. He has several favorite spots to curl up on - the day bed, a chair with a pad, sometimes at the foot of my bed at night. When I'm at my desk (which is often) he is either in front of the keyboard (making it difficult to type!) or sitting on the cat tree right beside me.
I'm getting to know his quirks. He doesn't like to be brushed with either a metal tooth brush or the soft plastic one. He loves his head and neck to be scratched, and his body petted, but when he's had enough, he lets me know! Initially he hissed, swatted, and jumped; now that he knows there is no threat, he just jumps down. He greets me at the door, and when I had guests he was friendly. Perhaps I'm just projecting, but he has had so many homes I don't think he believes he is at his "furever" home.
One major quirk - when I get under the covers at night, he attacks my legs and tries to pull the covers off with his teeth, like a dog playing tug-of-war! what's up with that? After a minute or 2 he settles down.
I'll continue to update. I am grateful for his company and I love to pet him. Thank you.
3/10/18 For the 1st time last night, Samson slept at the head of the bed by me.
7/25/18
Samson has become quite affectionate and comfortable. No more vomiting. I am now convinced that all the vomiting was just the result of a terrible case of nerves (explaining his car-sickness). So, I am getting ready to make an appointment for his teeth cleaning. Meanwhile, he has recently developed mats on his lower back. Unless you have suggestions of how I can remove them myself, the vets can remove them when he is under anesthesia for his dental work.
When I first got him he did not like to be brushed, despite me trying various types of combs and brushes. Now he loves his head, neck, and shoulders to be brushed, but hates his lower back to be touched - resulting in these mats. Once removed, he will just have to adjust.
He is a good boy, but obviously had not been well loved and groomed by his many previous owners. He is becoming much more trusting.
Please advise about removing the mats.

THAI
Just arrived, had a bath and nail trim and now meowmy says I need to just sleep, eat, play and grow big enough to go to my forever home. I should be finished with all my vetting by July 18 so that's aproximately when I'll be ready to go home.
My personality is starting to reveal itself and though I like to be petted, I am very shy and meowmy has to "dig" me out from under the Millie bed so she can pet me. I think I'd be happiest in a home that is quiet with just another nice cat or kitten for company.
Meowmy said she'd try to find me that kind of forever home.
Purrs,
Tup Tup

Thai is doing great. He is enjoying the California lifestyle. He and Fiji saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time Christmas 2012 in Santa Barbara. I like to take them places in their pet stroller or for walks in our neighborhood. Everyone who sees Thai, falls in love with him. Not only is he a stunning seal point, but he is so sweet, friendly, and affectionate. Even "dog people" can't help but love him. He really is the best cat. I am so grateful to Siamese Rescue for doing what they do and letting me adopt such a wonderful Siamese.
Thai is doing great. He has a little brother, Tajo now. I foster for Siamese Rescue in CA. Tajo was one of my foster kittens.

DAO
Outstanding in my field, I'm a number one snowshoe boy who is just wonderful - easy going, fun, mature enough not to be crazy, but still playful and silly! I am very neat in my habits and prefer dry food only. (told you I was easy!) And if paired with a lady friend, she should be playful and confident!

SAKE
Hello - why am I not on pending yet??? I'm purrfect in every way (well, except for my lack of boundaries with adult cats), so please ask about me today!
Requirement - must be placed with an active feline playmate who will enjoy games of chase and wrestling! Not good with older cats who don't want to be ridden like a horse or stalked like a mouse!

Update: 10/28/10
Sake is growing into a big boy. He is great with his baby sister Suki. He loves to clean her all of the time. They play together running around the house. He thinks he is the boss of the house, but Suki knows she really is the boss!!!!!
Sake loves to eat, eat, and eat. He would eat everything if I would let him. His belly is getting a little too round. He loves to rub and nudge my dog April. She doesn't want anything to do with him though.
Sake is a great cat and we love him dearly.
Sake is fitting extremely well into our family. He is just perfect for us. Thank you for helping us adopt him. Everyone did a fantasic job with him. Three days after we adopted him (7/27) he even crawled up onto my husband's lap and fell asleep!!!
We couldn't ask for a better fit for our family.
7/24/18
Here it is 8 years later and we couldn't ask for a better cat. Sake is wonderful and is a loving boy. He is very affectionate and loves people.

MICKEY
I am a great big hunky talkative seal point at 17 pounds, and yes, I need to lose a little belly fat! I eat wet food only so that should help, and I've had my dental and bloodwork done and all is good! I would love to be the only cat, and if so, I act just like a dog, following you everywhere; talking, leg rubbing and loving attention. I like to be brushed, I'm tolerant of that bouncy dog (though if she gets too bouncy I give her a little smack), and I'm always happy to see you! I am not minding crazy Prudence so I could probably be matched with a young playful gal with a little integration effort.

Notes from Home
Wellness visit & met new doctor this morning. He was his usual laid back curious best - charmed doctor & other staff. His weight was 13.11 lbs - the doctor would like to see him lose a pound & will check him again the first week in October. Had his back claws clipped - didn't care for that. Have been feeding him 1/2 a 3 oz can of food breakfast & dinner - plus about 1/3 cup Blue Wilderness non grain dry food, as he likes to graze a little. When the doctor left the exam room to get something, Mickey found a way to open the pocket door & head into the back room! We're loving him! 8/23 Mickey definitely is a keeper! He is so friendly-really likes George. He hasn't jumped up on his lap yet, but seems to be contemplating it. He jumps up on my lap, but I can see he has not been a lap cat. We sit next to each other on the sofas mornings & in the evenings. He naps all afternoon - has 3 isolated hiding places for this. He is quite food focused - give him 1/2 of a small can morning & evening. He also gets just over 1/4 cup Blue Wilderness diet dry food. New doctor thinks he should lose about 1 pound, but he seems hungry all the time. Also got some freeze dried chicken & give him a couple pieces twice a day - he loves it. He is totally not interested in the nice big bed he came with - I've thought of putting ity in 1 of his hiding places, but afraid he wouldn't appreciate that. He gets brushed every morning - not getting as much fur as when he first came here. He has thrown up 2 or 3 times after eating his canned food - I suspect it's because he gobbles too fast.9/30/16 Mickey went to the doctor to be weighed & have his claws clipped (he had started scratching a couple weeks ago (had not had that problem prior). The vet tech had to put a towel over his head & take him in the back - I could hear his very loud terrified cries from where I was in the exam room. He tried to bite & scratch! Bad news on the weight - on 8/2 jhe was 13 lb 11 ozs - today it is 14 lb 11 oz. They recommended only 1/4 of a 3 ounce can at breakfast & dinner. I had been giving 1/2 of the can at each meal. Also cut back on the Iams grainfree dry food to just under 1/4 cup overnight. He seems to always be hungry - this will not be pleasant. He is not very active.. 1/23/2017 After 6 months we are still in love with Mickey! He loves to be where we are & clings like a leech mornings after the 2 of us get up at 7 & after he has his breakfast. He is off dry food totally because it makes him throw up. (And I bought the good no grain stuff - Blue and Iams) He saw the doctor December 1st with ear infections & had drops in both ears for a week - no problems since. Back to 13 1 on weight & still needs to lose a pound I like him just the way he is though. He has 3 1/4 ounces of Sheba canned food daily, but still seems hungry all the time even though I try to feed him 5 times a day at 3 hour intervals. If it goes beyond 3 hours, he gobbles & regurgitates. He does not like to have his claws clipped & the doctor had done it twice & the last time I did it with a toenail clipper. I can tell when clipping needs to be done because he will start to scratch the furniture. His Papa was in hospital and nursing home for just under 4 weeks last month - Mickey was kind of depressed & looked all over for him - made me question whose cat he was! During that time he started sleeping with me - maybe to keep me company. Before that he had been my only cat who didn't sleep with me - now I find his big furry body tucked up against my chest all night long. He has become a lap cat too & loves being the center of attention. When we have visitors he is right there making friends - he is the coolest cat ever! The videos from him at the shelter showed him with a banana so I ordered 1 for him & put it in his Christmas stocking - oh how he loved it & it's full of claw & tooth marks, plus all the sides are dark from licking it. I got 1 for a friend's cat also - same results. Magic banana!! I still feel very lucky that Mickey was looking for a new mom when I was looking for a new (old) cat - he will be 12 years old in February. 5/15/2017: Mickey had his yearly exam & booster shots on April 18th. His blood lab work was very good & he was declared a healthy fellow. Exactly 1 week later he regurgitated his canned food (he does that sometimes because he tends to gobble) 4 days in a row. Took him to the clinic that Monday morning (2 weeks after his check up) & had a temp of 103 & reluctant to let the doctor palpate his tummy. He had an antibiotic shot if it was an infection. She suggested an ultrasound which had to be done at a different vet's office. So Friday he had the ultrasound - nothing remarkable, but x-ray revealed mild arthritis in lower back. No fever & okay with touching his tummy. (He is a little embarrassed about the bare tummy) Dr Habermann suspects a flare up of pancreatitis & sent some prescription canned food for sensitive stomach which Mickey was okay with eating. He had been eating very little which is not like him - also my playful boy was not running & jumping any more. He's mostly sleeping all the time. Still sleeping all the time - called the doctor & he is sending some pain medication. Mickey has become a real mama's boy since he's not been feeling good. Will keep you posted.6/26/2017 Saw Dr Lewis today (4th one). Mickey has IBD so now it is a process of elimination to find out what sets off the constant regurgitation Does 1/2 prednisone once daily. Will now give him z/d to see if he can keep that down Gave him a little of the canned this afternoon - lots of liquid regurgitation. Need to go to Jasper to get the z/d dry food. Mixing tylosin powder with powdered sugar - 1/4 teaspoon over his food once a day now. Will be talking to the local doctor once a week - he reports to the specialist. Happy to say Mickey's sweet outgoing personality came back with the prednisone - still has his long nap late morning until late afternoon. 7/27/2017 Mickey had a check up at the doctor's office this morning. He had finished his prednisone & another anti-nausea drug about 2 weeks ago. His IBS isn't completely under control - he can go 3 or 4 days without regurgitating & then has a bad day. The doctor says that is just something we may have to live with. He does not like the Z/D at all, & mostly his diet is dry I/D. I mix a little of the Z/D in, but he usually pushes it out of his bowl. I give him 1 Fancy Feast treat a day - I get the assorted pack of 10 (4 chicken, 3 tuna, 3 salmon. He has no trouble keeping it down & eagerly licks my hand when he's finished. He gained a little since his stressful 3 months of doctor visits & tests - now at 13.3 pounds. He was down to 12 lbs a month ago. The doctor says he looks really good & he had his head buried in my side for most of the exam. I'm going to try a can of premium food for sensitive stomach (Royal Kanan, Evo) when I go to Pet Smart tomorrow. Oh yes, they had to take his carrier apart to get him out again! 7/23/2018 We've been together 2 years now. Mickey is still the cool cat as he was from the beginning. His IBD is a recurring thing - may go as long as a week without regurgitation. I got on the scale with him this week - it looks like he weighs about 15 pounds (he is looking a bit round). His diet consists of 2 1/4 can servings of Fancy Feast (beef, chicken, or seafood) ach day plus 3 1 tablespoon servings of Hill's Stomach sensitive I/D. I have started to cut the morning serving to 1/2 tablespoon because it is only 3 hours after his Fancy Feast breakfast. When regurgitation occurs it is usually from the I/D. Tried the Blue food for sensitive stomach - he would have no part of it. Had an infection in his right ear in November - Dr. Haberman treated him & I didn't have to do ear drops like Dr. Lewis had me do the first time. I consider Dr. Haberman his vet, even though he's farther away, but I like his thoroughness & up to date knowledge. Mickey occasionally cuddles for a few minutes when I first go to bed, but that's about all. He generally hops up on the bed between 6:30 & 6:45 - the radio comes on at 7. He's ready for breakfast! I e-mail his former mom every now & then to update her on how he's doing - she always answers - still misses him tremendously. I had 3 day trips in January & March - friends came in to take care of him - he was always at the door greeting them & pursued them talking all the time they were here. Seemed to need talk more than meal! Even though he sleeps much of the time, it appears he was very lonely. .
