ROCKY
UPDATE 2/8/09: After a tough week with having shelter colds that we got right after we were spayed and neutered, Maicy and I have shown foster mom that we really do need to go home together. We are a VERY bonded pair and do everything together. Reese will be fine on his own, but Maicy and I are such close "family, my sister and me". that we really want to be together for the rest of our lives. What do you think about a cute little "instant family"? Love, purrs and many headbutts, Lucas.
Hi - my name is Lucas. Will you help me sing, " We are family, all my brothers and sisters and me"............. - Maicy and I are littermates and Reese "may" be our father or another brother or an uncle or........who knows. We are three of the sweetest and loudest purring cats and kittens you will ever find. I LOVE to run and play, explore and see what's going on. I am the active and most outgoing one of the three of us. I've never met a stranger. I just love people and other cats. Maicy and I are pretty closely bonded and would make a wonderful pair to add to your "family". I am protective of my sister and I help her stay clean, too. If you'd like an instant family, all three of us would be very happy to stay together, but we don't have to. Notes from Home
Lucas' name has now been changed to Rachmaninoff (Rachie or "Rocky") for short, and he is now a very big boy (almost 10 pounds)! We took Rachie to the vet last week along with his sister Maicy (now named "Tess") and the vet was very happy to inform us we have two perfectly healthy kittens who are ready to transition to adult food. They are now eating a mix of 1/2 kitten and 1/2 adult food, and are as playful and energetic as ever. They are fascinated with all the springtime noises...birds chirping and bugs buzzing, and of course joggers and bikers on the path behind our home. They are such good kitties, use the litter box every time, scratch only the scratching post, and have adapted beautifully to their new surroundings as if they had lived here since they were born. I hope we have brought as much happiness into the kitties lives are they have brought into ours.
UPDATE (9/18/2009): Rocky is a big big boy! He weighs 14lbs, and is all muscle! He is a spectacular jumper, and he leaps from the sofa to the kitty condo daddy made for him and sis, and back. He has a beautiful voice, it sounds like caramel, and he loves getting a back massage and tummy rub. He lays on his back like a dog, it's hilarious! Rocky is such a sweet teddy bear, he sometimes falls asleep in daddy's lap, and is so relaxed he's like a puddle of jelly. He is daddy's alarm clock, he wakes daddy up every morning by grooming daddy's head and ears. When Rocky and Tess travel in the car, Rocky is a good big brother and keeps Tess calm by snuggling with her.

Notes from Home
Jacob is settling right in. He follows us around and gets up on the couch between us--likes his wand toys (thanks, Sally, for sending several of them along with him). At first, Gracie was hiding after he arrived (but then she hides when strange people come into the house, too). Now she's out and about as normal, and has walked up to him and sniffed him a few times with no hostility on either side. In fact, this morning she chased him up one flight of stairs and let him chase her up another flight, all in good fun. I think she's figuring out that he could be fun for her, too. No pictures yet, but soon.
At his month-anniversary, another update: Jacob and Gracie are doing great--they chase one another, wrestle, bathe each other, but give each other space, too. We are changing Jacob's name, since I have a nephew named Jacob (it gets too confusing)--Since Jacob came to the shelter originally with the name "Swiss" according to the paperwork, we're using the Irish-Gaelic version of Jacob, which is Seámus (and that sounds kind of like "Swiss" to a cat's ear, we hope). No good pictures yet, I'm trying to catch both of them in one photo and haven't managed so far when I have a camera in my hand.

A teeny bit shy, I'm very people oriented, very petite, and like other cats to boot! I would like someone to treat me like their baby, carry me around, love on me, eat with me, sleep with me, and be mine if possible. No bossy dominant pushy cats as they would be scary, but any other nice easy going cat who would like me, I would like them back. I'm sisters with Vanya and could go with her too!

Tahnee (or Tanya, as she is sometimes known) is quite the little Meezer, and has adjusted to her new home in our household. She is much more relaxed, but still not as outgoing as her sister Vanya. Still, no one can match Tahnee for the sheer volume of her purring!

Emmett (formerly Zephyr) is one of the most lovable, calm and just plain old cool cats I have ever had. He's been with Alice and I for almost a year, and it has been a year for him. He is quite shy with strangers and it took a while for him to warm up to me -- it was only last week that I think he decided he *really* liked me, and has started sitting in my lap regularly and letting me hold him for as long as I want, rather than as long as he wants. However, for as much as he was skittish with humans at first, he more than made up for it with his love for Alice.
From his very first night home, Emmett wanted to get to know his new sister and check her out. It was love at first sight! The two of them are the best of friends. They are always playing together, seeing who can run faster between rooms, who can get to Alice's favorite pink mouse first, and which one of them can ricochet off of me further! He is a great big brother too! He usually lets Alice "win" at their games and is so very patient when Alice meows "me first!" when I come home from work or class.
I couldn't have asked for a better match for me or for Alice, I don't know what we would do without him.

It's September 10th, 2009, and Clover, now SUGAR, is doing beautifully. She is beautiful, sleek, very loving and even tempered. She must be used to her new house, because she streaks through all the rooms at breakneck speed - exercise for the day - and the toy mouse gets quite a workout. She has a fantastic figure, and as her humans are regular gym-goers, she has taken up the banner for the 4-legged beautiful ladies to keep up. She eats well, uses her box without fail, and is very clean about her appearance. Sleeps with her human slaves who have to make room in the bed for her. I think we are a very, very happy family. As my vet said to me "Sugar needs you as much as you need her." What an astute observation. Hope to have pictures posted soon.

We adopted Keiran two years ago. My son could not for the life of him say his name so we changed his name to Jessie. He turned out to be a handsome little boy yet a little mischief. We named him Jessie after Jessie James. He has been a part of our family since day one and is well loved at his home. He has a sister Isabella. Jessie loves to play, eat, cuddle and yowl like an owl. He squeaks when he purrs he is a true joy in our life. He is a very handsome little boy.... We love him very very much!!....I (his dad) gave him the nickname......"The Abominable Snow Kitten"......he's such a cutie!!!

Hi, I'm Tika. My ear pinna has been tipped because I was a little wild thing when they found me, but I'm starting to learn to trust the hand that feeds me! I love to bump heads and purr and rub, but I sometimes get easily spooked and will hide. I love other kitties and am very gentle with them. All I need is a quiet home, some good grub and a little bit of love to make me blossom.

I am a loud kitty, I demand attention and I do whatever I want. I am especially good at opening kitchen cabinets, unlocked doors, locked doors you name it. I love to talk to my non-furry people everyday, I let them know when I need a good scratch behind the ears, or someone to open the window so that I can talk to the birds on the bird feeder. My best friend is Nacho. He is the best and we chase each other around the house like a stampede. Who says kittens are the only ones that can have fun? We rough house and we call for each other when we can't find each other around the house. When I am not playing with Nacho, I love to stick my paws in my water bowl to fish out the ice cubes. I just love ice fishing!
