Hi - I'm Malee and my name means "flower" in Taiwanese. I really want to grow up to be a beautiful flower that will grow in your home. I am just as precious as I can be and am a beautiful chocolate "bud" who is blossoming every day. I love to run, jump, play, climb, wrestle, purr, chirp, sleep, eat, drink and then start the fun all over again. When you pick me up and hold me, I have a very loud and sweet purr. I like to be cuddled near your neck. Sometimes I need to protect my brother even though he thinks he is already growing into his name, Sud, which means tiger. He depends on me when he is scared and I protect him. We are so much fun to watch together. We are really a bonded pair and would love to stay together. We do almost everything together - including getting into the litterbox together. Our habits are perfect and we are turning into big eaters so we can grow up quickly and be ready for our forever home. Please ask foster mama, Katie, about me and my brother.

CARINA
My brother Dolci and I are music lovers, window watchers, and the easy going, quieter types. I'm a bit more outgoing and playful than he is; he prefers to sit and do his yoga exercises. We're looking for a new home as our owner had to move and we come with oodles of information about who we are and what we are like, along with an adoption scholarship to boot! Check our videos out because I know how to FLIRT!

Notes from Home
As mentioned on the Rescue Center's website, Carina truly is a FLIRT! (Not a "little" flirt, because she does need to lose a couple of pounds.) When that sweet face, with those huge blue eyes, looks up at you with a chirp of a "mew," who could resist picking up the wand toy she just brought to you so you could play with her? I looked up her name; it is Italian for "beloved." Such a perfect name for such a loving cat. We adore her and her brother.

Our thanks to everyone who helped bring her and Dolci into our home and our hearts.

MOCHA
Howdy...can't you see me talking to you???!! Well I'm telling you all about my cute self! I am very social & I just love to play. I would like to have a scratching post awaiting me when I come home cause my foster mom just has the tiny one you see behind me & it's just not tall enough. So to get my point across to my foster mom, I just climb her leg & I think she's getting the hint :) I overheard her say that she's gonna by a cat tree for me & I'll share with my sister Lacey. I love my sister & I hope you have room for two, cause we are a bonded set, soooo I hope you will take us both home with you!

Gotta go....I'm a busy boy you know!

Notes from Home
Cagney is now named Mocha. He is a lively and lovable little boy, along with his sweet sister Java (formerly Lacey). They purr and lap-sit and race around and are a complete joy. They sleep with us at night and really lie still and purr until we are ready to get up in the morning.

I will post photos when I can get it to work for me.

11/5/11
Photos posted. Will post more soon.
Mocha and his sister are wonderful and sweet. The get into all kinds of funny hi-jinks.
The other night they stepped on the copier/printer buttons and made some blank copies. It was hysterical watching them investigate where all the sounds, lights and paper were coming from.

They are both so friendly even with strangers that it is amazing. A friend came to see them the other day and was sitting on the floor playing with them. Mocha ended up curling up in her lap when he got tired. My friend was delighted.

11/13/11
Mocha is the ringleader in the playing and stampeding around the house. But his sister follows close on his heels. They have fun with lots of toys, but seem to enjoy boxes, bags and crumpled pieces of paper just as well.
Mocha is still cream colored, so we say that he is a Mocha Latte (at least until he possibly turns darker).

They are both very loving and purry.

11/19/11

Mocha and Java are still wonderful. They get into all sorts of things, so we are trying to figure out Christmas tree/decorations. They wouldn't be able to let that alone. We may have to either forgo a tree or figure out how to hang a short one from the ceiling.

I don't know what we did for entertainment before we had them!

12/15/11

The kitties are still giving us lots of love and affection. They play endlessly except when they are napping or eating. I have decided that besides intelligence, determination is a Siamese trait. Mocha LOVES the computer and is determined to get the cursor on the screen. Whenever I sit down, he parks himself up against the screen and watches the cursor and tries to get it. He will not be deterred. I can put him down a hundred times and he gets right back up.

One day I was cleaning out the fridge. I turned my back and before I knew it, he was in the fridge. I took him out, but he was determined to find out what was in there. I had to be very fast. I am adding a photo of that.

He still purrs all of the time. He no longer climbs legs. I think he got too big to do that.

4/2/12
Mocha is fun and curious. He still LOVES the computer and makes working at it difficult because he stands right up against the screen. There are always nose prints on the screen. He also loves anything else technological and mechanical. He is right there if he hears a noise that sounds like tech or mechanics. We've decided that he has several types of purrs. One is a contented, sleepy purr. The other is his naughty purr that he uses when he is up to no good.
Both Mocha and Java have gotten darker so that their color fits their names.

9/10/12
Mocha is still very kittenish. He weighs 9.7 lb. compared to his sister ,Java, who weighs 13.1 lb. So far he is still lighter in color than she is. She is now dark brown.
He continues to purr a lot and roll around on the floor for belly rubs. He lap sits more often in the hotter weather (but still less than in cooler weather). He want to be picked up and put over my shoulder like a baby and patted on the butt. He loves to sleep with us and on us.
Mocha loves climbing to high places and sometimes gets himself into precarious situations from which he has to be rescued (top of bathroom cabinet and tries to climb on top of the door).
While these two Meezers do not sing as much as some, Mocha is more vocal than Java and seems to be getting a little bit more demanding, especially at feeding time. They get fed at about 5 pm, but if I go into the kitchen any time after 2 or 3 pm, he starts demanding food. I guess my presence signals food is coming. And, in the morning, forget doing anything until they are fed.
Both cats love to get "spin-spins" on the computer chair. This is something our grand-cat (now a geezer meezer) always loved. I don't believe any other regular cat would do this. I will try to down load a photo of a tandem spin-spin.
We are crazy about them!

Notes from Home
Java (formerly Lacey) is adorable and lovable and so is her brother Mocha (formerly Cagney). They both adapted to us and our home immediately. They were not scared even when we first arrived home and they explored for awhile. Then they climbed up on our laps and purred and snoozed. They continue to play hard and be thoroughly affectionate.

Mocha is the more adventurous one, but Java follows right behind him. They both get into everything, but we are are having a wonderful time with their antics. They are affectionate lap-sitters too. Mocha sometimes still tries to climb legs, but his new thing is leaping onto our backs when we are sitting in a chair.
This morning they were only a tiny bit put off by the vacuum cleaner. They didn't hide and every time it was turned off, they came right on over to see what I was doing.

Our household is so much more lively and fun now. We are glad that we adopted the two together.. We just love them!!!

11/5/11

Java continues to be sweet and lovable and the two of them keep each other hopping. They play, purr and give lots of love. It sure is lively around here now.

11/13/11
Java and Mocha are growing and still delightful. Java seems to be slowly getting rid of some sneezing and snot that she had recently.
They are constantly on the go and chasing and tussling with each other. Java is getting more brown fur every day. Mocha not so much yet.
They keep us entertained and there is still much purring.

11/19/11
Java and Mocha are still wonderful and purry. Java seems to have overcome her snots and sneezes for the most part. They both delighted a cat-lover friend who stopped by to meet them yesterday. As soon as she sat down, they went over and laid on her together and took a nap.

12/15/11

Java continues to be adorable and have good health. She has a funny little squeaky meow unless she is waiting for food. Then it gets a little bigger. She loves to chase things around the house and snuggle.

I think she has a bit of sibling rivalry. If I am talking to Mocha she will roll onto her back and stretch out and call me to make herself as cute as possible.

Our Christmas tree is relegated to an enclosed porch this year. The kitties would ruin it in no time.

4/2/12
Java continues to be a wonderful kitty. She is loving and sweet. There's not a mean bone in her body.
She looks to be almost grown. She has actually gotten a bigger than her brother and is even a little pudgy. We are trying to keep her weight under control. Mocha is still rather kitten-like compared to the size of Java. They are both playful and fun. We continue to be glad that we got both of them. Java spends a lot of time sitting on her scratching post at the patio doors watching leaves blow by. She has a funny, squeaky meow, but neither of them are very vocal except at feeding time.

9/10/12
It has been awhile since I have updated Java's notes from home. She has gotten bigger than her brother. Vet visit this morning. She is 13.1 lb. She is taller and longer and fatter than Mocha who is only 9.7 lb.
Java suddenly turned dark brown around her body (not her neck area). Because she is bigger and browner, it is easier to tell them apart.
Recently we have noticed that Java has gotten a lot more Meezer personality. She plays like crazy and steals things from my dresser. If I don't put away watches, glasses, necklaces etc. she takes them. I have had cats all my life, but never had one that took things. Too funny! We think a light suddenly went on in her brain and she realized that she can do things that her brother can do and more. She has even started climbing to high places which Mocha has done all along.
She hasn't been lap-sitting too much during the hotter weather, but last night she slept on top of me. I love that even though it is a bit much to have a 13 lb. cat on my hip since she refuses to move.
Another thing which she has started doing is grabbing us as we walk by or standing up and reaching up to my hip to grab me.
Love them!!! Wouldn't give them up!!!

SMARTYPANTS
Here I am, waiting to select my own special adopter. I am long and lean, and drop dead gorgeous. I am what foster mom calls a typical tortie - very smart, very opinionated, and full of the attitude she calls 'tortitude'. But I am also very interactive, very chatty, very nosey, and very loving. I need a home that truly understands what a cat like me is like - I am really a gem for the right person! So if you are worthy, then ask about me.

I have been introduced to the other cats here, and so far I am willing to tolerate them. I'd love to be your "only" but if you have laid back cats, we can get along just fine.

Notes from Home
Smarty has settled fairly well. She is a true creature of habit. Every morning after she gets me up between 6 and 8, making attention grabbing noise, she waits patiently while I get myself together. She then runs down the steps to the foyer closet door and waits for me to come down and play with Da Bird with her. Of course, the first thing I do is get her food out so she can have her morning meal. She will eat a little bit and then go back to the closet door. So then we play exercise for some time until she gets bored with it. She will then go back to her food. She has found all kinds of different cushy places to take her naps. We never know where she is going to nap next. She is fascinated with the basement. We have put her in the outdoor enclosure twice. I don't think it's her thing. She makes no effort to go towards it. In the early evening, she gets up on the couch and leans into me, but she has never sat on my lap. Her thing is to jump on the back of my upholstered chair, while I am on the computer, and rub her head against mine. A sign of affection for her.

We have taken her several times to have her nails trimmed, however, she still scratches our upholstered dining room chairs regularly. The scratching posts do not interest her even though we have put catnip on them. She is very friendly with any person who comes to our house and will rub against them. She has become my shadow until I go to bed. Then she goes downstairs and spends time with her poppy.
Eventually she will come back upstairs and sleep in my bedroom closet. Every time I go to the bathroom, she has to come in to rub against me or do her own business. Smarty is our little girlie and we love her.

MOTO
Our diet is working! We are both slimming down and looking like very handsome devils if I do say so myself! However there's nothing devilish about us at all - we are easy keepers, sweet, gentle cats with character. Just what the doc ordered.

Notes from Home
This picture is typical, and is entitled "We're hungry!" That's Moto in the foreground. My friend Kristi titled it "Empty bowls, so sad"! They are chow hounds with no short-term memory! In the morning, I feed them, go walking with my neighbor, which takes about 35 minutes, return to the house and am told they haven't been fed in DAYS, and would I hurry up and feed them, please! They eat every scrap of food. I'm still putting lots of water in their dinners--they don't drink much from their water bowls, but from the through-put that shows up in the litter box, they must be getting enough to drink!

They have gotten a lot lighter in color, especially Moto. Maybe it's because they've shed so much dark hair! The shedding seems to be slowing down, but I think I've combed out enough to make several new cats, not to mention what they've left on the furniture! I always said my knitting projects were 5% cat hair, but may have to revise that number up!

They each weigh about 14 1/2 pounds, down a bit from when they left the center, and look pretty good. In fact, they are quite handsome! They continue to show more personality. In the last few weeks, they've started to play with each other and toys more. Moto is definitely the top cat, and reminds Mick about once a day in a wrestling match. They get "messages from Planet Cat" where they leap up, run around the room or upstairs, and then settle back down until they get another message. Just today Moto has discovered that one of the wands they came with has a hunk of fur and some leather tassles on it. He's killed the fur and is dragging the whole thing around the house and making growly noises. When not otherwise occupied, he walks around muttering under his breath about who knows what.

Mick has discovered the Millie beds and loves to tuck himself in. If I head in the direction of the bedroom, he runs and jumps on the bed to be petted. He's the lover of the two. Such a sweetie!

In August, I left them with the cat sitter (a teenager who comes in to feed, clean and play with them) twice. I was nervous, but they didn't seem to notice.

I guess you can tell this is a successful adoption! I really appreciate the wonderful work the Center does, and I've been talking it up around here. Kathi, next time you come to the river, give me a call and come see the boys!

Jayne

Ooooh I am sad :( Got left in a drop box of all places, down the chute on top of other cats - can you imagine how scary that is? I can't even figure out what I did wrong. So here I sit, my eyes a bit tired and my soul a bit heavy. I hope someone comes along soon to make me feel better.....

Luka is enjoying her furever home...She loves looking out at the birds and the falling leaves on her perch. She is adored by everyone...she's not too sure about the over affectionate canine roommate so she is happy staying upstairs with the girls while the dog is downstairs. It will take time but we are patient and hopefully she will venture downstairs in the future. Thank you VA Siamese Rescue Center...she is a lovely cat and we are thrilled to have her here!!

LADY JANE
I am one wild child! Fun loving, outgoing, exploring, racing and chasing. I truly believe in girls just want to have fun, although the only caveat I might add is I like to snuggle too! More of a lapsitter than many of the females, I'm all about an overgrown kitten and a blossoming affectionate adult. I'm bossy with the other cats, so beware, and while I don't have experience with dogs, I could easily adjust if someone took the time to help me (and would love it if we could play together!)

Dear Aunt Siri,
I am doing great. I love the window seat, the cat climber, the food, and the pets. I have had the run of the house since the second day I arrived home, until today, Angel decided to come out ot the bedroom. She bosses me around and I pretend to not like it. She chases after me sometimes. That is great fun.
I am an excellent biscuit maker and help Mommy on the computer.
Thank you for taking good care of me when I stayed with you.

I'm just about over it! I was shy at first but now I've figured out this thing called people attention - I remember it well from my first home (I was turned into a shelter when my owner died, I did nothing wrong, I promise!) - So maybe there is some happiness in my future after all - how about it? I would like a quiet home, I could live with a male handsome guy provided he was soft and gentle in personality, I promise I would love you if you were soft and gentle too!

Notes from Home
Dear Aunt Siri,
I want to thank you for taking such good care of me when I stayed with you. I got over my drooling problem very quickly. I am fine now. I stayed in the guest room under the bed for about 2 weeks, then Mommy said I wasn't a guest. We had overnight guests coming and moved me to her bedroom. Mommy thought this might upset me, but I loved it. The room is bigger, and I slowly took over. After a few days, I jumped into bed with her, purred, headbutted, and insisted on pets. I now sleep with her and push against her so she knows I am there and ready for pets. The bedroom door has been open and I could leave the room for awhile. But only recently did I give it a try. I have been spotted in the family room, but I quickly run back to the bedroom. Today we had a break through. I ran to the family room and stayed there. Mommy brought me my breakfast and I ate it all.
As for Snickle, he is a lot of fun. When he comes in the bedroom, I give him THE LOOK. Sometimes he runs away and sometimes he ignores me. He knows I am THE QUEEN, and I won't let him forget it.
Thanks again,
Angel
