RAMONA
(NEW VIDEO 1/23/11)

Ready to go home, I'm just getting over a bout with ringworm (that was no fun, talk about long term isolation). I'm a gentle souled cat who would slot in anywhere that wanted an easy going but 'softer' personality. Since I have had ringworm, (although I will culture negative for it before I leave here) I should still go to a home without any immune compromised individuals, hence the only reason I'm marked no kids below. My habits are excellent and my personality stellar - no couch potato here, no mad racer and chaser either, just an overall very pleasant well behaved gal.

Thank you for sending me a reminder of me and Ramona's anniversary! She's doing very well. We recently moved to a new apartment and she has a lot of space to run around and is enjoying the views from the 15th floor.

Sadie had her homecoming on August 21! Thanks to some amazing people !
Sadie knew instantly this was her forever home. It feels so right ! She is the best girl anyone could ever want and we love her so much!!

Happy 1 Month Anniversary!!!!
Lots of changes for this girl, Sadie likes to sleep with you (spooner)! LOVE THAT!
She sits in your lap ...
Sadie seems to like all of us ,ok loves all of us! she did not choose one person ,she has wrapped us all around her paw!
Sadie will try to get in the bath with the girls, I guess because she is one of the girls! We still have a space for her to get away when she has had enough love and hugs from us...
Sadie"s well appointment went so good , I was told that I have a beautiful purrfect kitty! and she is!
Her new birthday is March 17 she is still a KITTEN..We all know what that means..With the 4 of us playing with her ,it is never enough!
I can keep going ,because we think she is the best and we are so blessed to have her with us! Love this girl soooooo much!
She is spoiled and we wouldn't have it any other way!

November 21 will be 3 months..had a chance to get on the computer to give a little update and to brag about my PEOPLE..
I love these people that call me the youngest of the family, I love all of them , I help the oldest do her homework and I must say I don't know how she got along without me.
That little one ,my goodness she lets me catch a ride on her cape and we run through the house ,the lady we all call mom is always near so no one gets hurt.,she calls us her Cubs because she is like a Momma Bear, always around!
I heard her talking to the Vet ,she is taking me to get my nails clip ,see I like riding in the car and my mom is a scaredy cat to clip them herself..HAHA! (treats at the Vets):-)
Now for that big guy we all call Dad, I greet him when he comes home and let me tell you ,he can give the best rub.. when mom makes his lunch in the morning , he always gives me some turkey ...
We like to get our alone time watching tv ,he told mom I give a little bite and curl up next to him on the sofa.( love bite) that is...
Well as you can see I am really loveing these people ,MY FAMILY!
Got to go ..Purrs...

Happy New Year!
Update for our Sadie girl , so easy to brag about her, still so in love with this girl. We all are! A love that will last forever!
Sadie is an amazing kittie, she goes with the flow. She sleeps mostly with Sophia and plays house with Sasha, likes to help me make the beds and greets Jeremy at the door everyday.
When I go to pick the girls up from school, Sadie runs to the window and will watch until my return, knowing when the girls get home ,she will greet us at the door and Sasha will say "Sadie I missed you so much" and then Sophia says " Mom can I play with Sadie before I start my homework?"
Jeremy has not missed one day of saying , what a good girl Sadie is..
So with that and so much more bragging to come , We would like to thank all of you at the Siamese Rescue for our Sadie! Thank You again and again!

Wow!!! Has it really been 6 months plus????
We are a happy happy meezer family! Sadie is all that and more... No worries at this house,
still loving all her humans the same, sleeps with Sophia every night, goes with Sasha in the baby stroller like they are really going to pet depot! too funny! never gets old! LOL!
Now for the big news.. Sadie has a new friend that fell into our lap...Sadie is the girl that can take it or leave it,can be a little hissy but really can care less, just stay out of Sophia's bed and don't get in the baby stroller and we will get on just fine.. we are still looking to add another ! Sadie is ok with it, as long as her rules are followed... Best cat ever!!!!!

LUNA
Yes, I'm a little late for Halloween, but I dressed up anyway! No, your eyes are not deceiving you, I'm a beautiful Oriental, a little gal at just under 7 pounds, and because I have that wedgie look, Aunt Siri says I could sneak in! A quiet home, I've been around other cats before, but need my people to spend a little time with me to encourage me to blossom. I am frightened of men but if you're a soft and gentle woman, that'll do nicely :)

Luna is doing great! She has had her well checkup and everything looks good. She is starting to stick around in the same room with other people around and not jumping out of her skin. Found her wrapped up like a baby watching a movie with Jeremy(too cute) and a huge break through for Luna, liking someone else other then me! She seems to be a loner but has cuddle a few times with another cat. She prefers to hang out on my shoulder with her head tucked into my neck. Over all everyone is getting along with no issues :-). Thank you again for giving us a chance with her.

2/2/13
This is Koko Mau (fka Smoke) writing to let you know how I am! As you can see my new family has changed my name to Koko Mau. My new sister and dad think it sounds Mayan but I am named in honor of that famous (and smart) cat Kao K'o-Kung in the "The Cat Who" books plus Mau which is the Chinese and Egyptian word for cat.

We made it home and I was a super traveler. I talked quite a bit for about 90 minutes before I decided to settle in under my suggly and just hang out for the rest of the trip. We beat the snow (it started about 3 miles from home so our timing was real good).

I'm starting to settle in to my new place. My parents and sister have my room all set up for me with a new millie bed and everything. I'm having fun checking out everything that can be checked out in my isolation room. I can't wait to check out the rest of the house ASAP. Mom says I have to wait, though.

I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing and send pictures, too. Mom says that she needs the computer to Skype with my other sister, so that she can show her how handsome I am, so I guess I better go now.

I'll write again soon!

Love,

Koko Mau

2/3/13
Koko Mau here again!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing fine. I've eaten, drunk my water, and used the "little cat's box". I was really busy today. I found the window where I can see the back yard (and the bird/squirrel feeders), found cozy places to hide for snoozing, and I've taken over the dogs' office bed and my dad's chair. All this activity required a long catnap or two...three...well, I forgot to count.

Mom introduced me to Mika the couch potato dog 'cause Mika can't stand to be away from Mom for too long. She put Mika on a down on MY dog bed next to her for a little bit while I was across the room. I was cool about it and so was Mika. No hissing. No barking. No drama. (Heck, I'm not even sure she really noticed this good-looking cat.) Who knows, we might even be friends once we can actually visit nose-to-nose.

Mom said that I can send pictures for you to see. I really like the one with my sister 'cause she and I are new Best Friends. I hope they come through.

Love,

Koko Mau

Two Week Anniversary 2/16/13

I'm really starting to dig this new place. I am now allowed the run of the house during the day. If the big "puppy" is out he is on a leash so he minds his manners, but Mika and I are out together now with no problems at all. The other cat and I are still working things out but for the most part we don't see too much of each other.

I'm getting really attached to my sister and my dad. I like to snooze under my sister’s bed and nap with her while she reads. I am also am snuggling with my dad on the sofa and I like to sit on his desk and watch him type. I sometimes even scooch over and put my paws on his arms.

Mom right now is off my favorites list as she took me to the vet for my checkup. I was very good while I was there and the doctor says that I am doing fine and looking good. One of the office ladies there LOVES Siamese so I was sure to mention the Rescue.

Well, I guess that's all for now. I will check in periodically just to let you know how I am.

Love,

Koko Mau

One month Anniversary! Woo hoo!

Wow, I’ve been here one month and I’m really settling in and learning all the ropes. There’s been a lot to learn, but I’m such a smart cat that I’m picking up on everything real fast. My mom and dad say that I’ve been doing so well that I can now be out and about in the whole house all of the time. My dad likes to pick me up and carry me around. I’m starting to like this, too, ‘cause I’m figuring out that he’s not going to drop me and I can see everything. While I’ve been having loads of fun finding cools places to nap and play, the best thing I’ve found to do is to snooze squished up against my dad.

I’m even getting along with my fur-sister, Muffin, now. We eat side-by-side and I love to finish up her meals when she isn’t looking. We’ve even been caught playing together (oops, Mom wasn’t suppose to see that). And best of all, I’ve discovered Muffin’s self-serve mouse bar. It’s loaded with all kinds of nifty toys, especially furry mice.

Well, I’m off for a catnap but I’ll write soon!

Happy 6th Month Anniversary to ME!

Dear SCRC,

Koko Mau here to tell you how well I’ve been doing and to send along a couple of new pictures of me to celebrate my anniversary.

I’ve settled in really well and have made myself quite at home. My favorite things are eating, sleeping, and playing. I have a great time bouncing off things so I can be Super Cat and fly through the air! My humans laugh at me because I love it so much. I like playing with the other cat now and she even plays back with me. When I get tired I help my sister with her knitting. I make sure that her projects are nice and soft for sleeping.

Also, I’ve turned into a snuggle cat. I love to snuggle with my dad and sister especially when they are sleeping or watching a movie. Mom’s OK, too, and I’ll even sleep with her now sometimes.
The pictures that I am sending show me helping my dad bird watch, working at the PC, and me taking a nap with my sister. Enjoy!

Koko Mau

Dear SCRC,

Koko here with a special bulletin! My Big Sister finished school and has moved back home. Yay! I’m so happy because as much as I love my Dad and my little sister, Big Sis is MY person. We just clicked right away. I love to follow her around (OK, I’ll follow anybody who’s doing something), help rearrange her room, sleep with her, and to read and watch movies together. You name it and I’m under foot, I mean, I’m there. I’m sending a picture of me helping her wake up and one of me helping her organize her room.

Love Koko Mau

February 2, 2014
Dear SCRC Friends,

It’s me, Koko Mau! I’m so happy today because it’s my one-year anniversary! Yippee! It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year already. I love living here with my family. My dad, sisters, and even my mom are pretty cool cats. I reserve judgment on my fur-siblings, though.

I’ve really turned into an outgoing, on-the-go kinda’ cat. I have so much fun doing goofy things that make my people laugh. I love to play with my mousies (particularly when I hide them from myself), spazz just for the fun of it, and chase the laser pointer, especially when it’s up on a wall – I can jump up to try and catch it. Mom created a new game for me, too. She covers me in a light blanket on the bed and I have sooo much fun moving underneath it playing “shark”.

And then when I’m finally tired out I like to find strange places to take a nap (and sometimes strange ways to snooze, too).

Here is link to some pictures for you to see me having fun:

Notes from Home
February 2, 2014. Wow, I've been in my furever home for a whole year! Meowmy has added a second nickname for me, Mr. Clean, because I like to go into the litterboxes and paw around if one of the 3 of us has used it. I don't cover anything up, I just paw around. I like my sisters more all the time and chase and get chased by Sela. Shiloh hasn't been feeling well lately, and I like to lick her head to help her feel better. I just don't know why my sisters don't play as much as I do. Don't they know it's so much fun? Meowmy's fingers still taste good, and I nip at them all the time. She thinks she can stop me, but she can't. I know Meowmy loves me a lot. I love her too. I've sometimes sleep on the bed part of the night, and I've been getting closer and closer to Meowmy's head (up to the hips right now). When my sisters are on Meowmy's lap, I get jealous and try to join them, but there's really not enough room. I've turned into a really good looking guy, if I do say so myself. I have an almost solid dark face. And I really love to watch the bug on the computer screen (the cursor) as Meowmy types. I love to watch TV too. I asked Meowmy to add some recent photos so you can see how I've changed.

August 2, 2013. It's been 6 months since Chico became a member of my 3 cat household, and sometimes I think that I should have named him "El Diablo" instead of Chico. He likes to get underfoot and has been stepped on several times, once causing bites serious enough to warrant a trip for me to the doctor. I have to remember not to wear shoes when I'm at home. Sometimes I wake up to find him biting my fingers, which he still does regularly when I'm awake. No matter what I do, I can't get him to stop biting/nibbling. The other cats have accepted him, but they prefer to avoid him most of the time. He does the same thing with them that he does with me: batting in the air with one paw to get attention. I think it's cute and then start to pet him, but the cats think he wants to fight with them and they paw back and then act like they're going to fight (but don't get into anything serious with each other). He's still not a lap cat and really doesn't like to be picked up, but I have hopes that over time this will change a bit. He's very playful and kittenish and brings me lots of joy when he's not munching on me. He's a challenge but one that's worthwhile.

March 31, 2013. Meowmy said I could update you. Chico on the job! Tee hee, I like to have fun with meowmy and my big sisters. I lo-o-ove to play with feathers, a ball on a track, catnip toys, and gee meowmy's fingers taste oh so good. I snuck up on meowmy yesterday when she was napping and sat in her lap for the first time. But shhhh...don't tell her. I don't want her to think I liked it. Sometimes when meowmy is near her bed, I jump on it and she picks me up and then I purr. But I don't want her to think I like that, either, and I make sure she puts me down quickly. Sela and I play hide and seek under the bed. And I lay down on my side on the floor and stretch out my front paws and slide across the floor to get close to Shiloh, but she still doesn't want me close to her. Oops, just took a small break and jumped up on the couch and licked Shiloh's ear when she was napping. Now she's beating her tail on the couch. But I think she's getting used to me because she's not growling. Ha ha, lots of fun and things to do here. So glad I'm in my furever home.

March 2, 2013. It's been a month since I brought Chico home. He's still settling into the family situation with the two older cats, who are more comfortable with sharing their home with him. The 11.5 year old still growls and hisses, but there's no fighting. Chico loves to play, and I fall asleep hearing a ball spinning around on its track in the bedroom. He makes his meowmy laugh a lot.

It's been two weeks since Chico joined my (now) 3 Meezer household, and he's fitting in well. He's been integrating with the other two slowly, although the oldest is still hissing and growling softly when she sees him. He's very friendly and loves to give me head butts, licks and purrs, although he moves quickly from licks to soft nips. He came to me with a knowledge of the word "no", which is helpful. Chico loves his wand with the feathers on the end. He's so cute when he stands on his back legs and uses his front paws to box at the feathers, faster and faster as the wand is moved faster and faster. It's his favorite toy. Everything that he does is done with gusto. And when he found the upright scratching post, when he finished scratching on it, he clung to it with all fours! What a sight!

Hello, Leilani (fka Lolo) is so cute. She loves to play rough with my boy Tiki and initiates the wrestling. She's a real Tom Boy! She has so much energy is amazing. She loves to eat, and she sleeps in our bed at night. She gets a little bonkers in the morning before I feed them as she runs around the house like a nut and jumped on the bed and ran over my face. That I have to try to get her to stop, ha ha. She likes to play in the litter box which I'm trying to stop as well and she still has that very loose, smelly stool. So next time to vet I'll see about the sensitive stomach diet as their previous tests showed everthing negative. She is just so precious and warming up everyday!!!!! I'm attaching some Pictures now!!!! I love her turned up nose!!!!

Leilani is a gem. She is so cute. She is still a bit skittish and doesn't like to be held. But loves morning cuddles.

Update on Henna - 2 year anniversary

A lot has changed for Henna (and me) in this past year. I got married, so Henna and I packed up and moved to Richmond VA to begin our new life. Henna has a dad and an older brother now - Cameron the Tabby cat. Henna loved Cameron immediately the moment she saw him. Cameron on the other hand, wasn't so sure :)
But everyone has adjusted now and we're all doing great. Henna is still my girl, but if I'm not available, her dad will do in a pinch. She's always following one of us around the house or teasing her brother. She's still such a kitten at heart.
She drags her favorite toy upstairs to bed with us every night, and recently when her brother was quarantined due to an injury, she'd drag that toy upstairs outside the bathroom door where he was locked up.... she's such a sweetheart.
She just melts my heart - and I'm thankful every day that I made the decision to adopt her!

Update on Henna - 1 Month
Henna continues to be a joy. Both she and I went through a rough patch after we had to give back Indigo (Jordan) after only 5 short days. And even though they went through a short period of hissing and wanting nothing to do with each other - by day 4 they were best of friends. Chasing each other around the house, bathing each other, and I even started to notice Indi copying everything his big sister did.
But it became quite clear from his first day with us that I was very, very allergic to him. I thought it was odd, since I had no reaction to Henna (and have only reacted to two other cats in my life) but with Indi I didn't have a moment where I wasn't sneezing. I went through an entire box of tissues in one day. I kept hoping it would get better as the days went by, but it only got worse. So with a heavy heart I had to make the difficult decision to return him to the rescue. I thought it was amazing how quickly I become attached to this little guy - and cried the entire way to/from the Virginia Center. But then when I returned home I noticed that Henna was "upset" as well. She seemed very confused the first few days after Indi left us. Since he was quite a bit smaller than Henna - anytime play got a bit too rough for him, he'd find the smallest places to hide in. Well Henna walked around the apartment looking in every one of his hiding places to try to find him. Our first night without Indi - Henna even woke me up in the middle of the night, sitting by my head crying. My "siamese" isn't very fluent yet, but I imagined she was saying "um. mom... Indi still is missing. Shouldn't we be worried?!" Oh, it broke my heart.
She also wasn't as playful the first few days without him... but now, after a week of readjusting - she's back to her old self.
She continues to follow me around the house - apparently she doesn't like me out of her sight. I've even tried to "sneak" away from her a few times when she's been napping next to me, but she always catches me and comes running.
It's hard to believe we've only been together 1month - because I can't even imagine my life without her.

Thanks for all you do Siamese Rescue, in saving these beautiful animals, and providing us with such wonderful companions!
I’m happy to hear that Jordan has found a new home – and I know they will love him just as much as Henna and I did!

**************************************************************************************************************
Update on Henna - Day 12

Henna continues to become more comfortable in her new home. She is very well behaved while I'm away at work (I'm pretty sure she just naps in my bed the entire time) and depending on her mood, she'll either ignore me the first few minutes I'm home, or jump right into play time.
She is an absolute pleasure - she follows me everywhere, and is always by my side.
She's very good about using the litter box, eating and drinking... and even wakes me up in the morning by licking my face.
I'm so proud of this little girl, I call my mom with updates everytime Henna reaches a milestone or does something funny, haha.

Her brother Jordan will be arriving this Saturday (Feb 4th), so I'm excited to see what the house will be like with two of them running around

update on how Reign, now Henna, is doing so far. - Day 3 in her new home

She was very good on the drive home Friday, only cried a little for the first minute or two we were in the car. After that she napped or watched me the rest of the way.
She quickly explored her new house after arriving - and didn't hide or shy away. She purred non-stop the moment we got home and the remainder of the day. The only time she didn't purr was while she was napping, and the naps were always right next to me. She hasn't left my side since we got home. I'm amazed at how quickly she's become attached to me, following me everywhere, always sleeping near, if not on me, and even sleeps through the night in bed with me.
She's is an absolute love-bug, I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Her first night, it took her awhile to drink or use the litter box, which at first had me anxious, but both milestones happened before we went to bed, so I was able to breathe easy :)
Her first stool was very liquidy, but we've continued with the packets you sent, and yesterday's and today's were both normal.

All-in-all, she seems to have adjusted well here already. She still spooks at unfamiliar noises, but she's playing, napping and fitting right in! I even left her for the first time for a few minutes today, and when I came home she gave me the silent treatment - clearly not happy that I left. :) This makes me laugh b/c it's such a Siamese trait - the siamese I grew up with used to follow us around the house, "yelling" at us, so I'm glad to see that Henna will be an ignorer and not a yeller :) haha

WINSTON
I am a bit of a shy boy when I first meet you but Oh, I can purr up a storm for you very quickly! I'm not sure why I'm in this new place but it is comfortable and my human housemate is almost always here with her face in a book. She says that she is studying, whatever that means. I like to sleep with her and snuggle. My brother from my previous home, Oliver, was adopted but I have a new feline housemate, Zell. We are now best buds and I like to sleep snuggled with him too! However, I sure would like to have a real home with a permanent bed partner. Are you available?

Notes from Home
Win is very happy in his new home! Maca, our first cat, is still demonstrating her territorial signs of control. But Win is so laid back and gentle, that Maca has no choice but become his soulmate.

01/2014. It has been a year since we adopted Winston. He is such a sweetheart! Very loving and laid back. Maca eventually got used to having him around. They occasionally run after each other and they're great at playing together.
