Aja is doing as well as can be expected with her medical conditions now (she has both CRF and hyperthyroidism). While she has lost 5 pounds since I adopted her, she has stabilized at around 7 pounds or so.
But, while I have to give her fluids and medicine every day, she still rules the house and continues to live the life of Riley! Take a look at the picture and see what I mean.

GOFURR
Hello. I'm known as Gofurr because I go for the door when ever possible. You see, I got a taste of the outside and even though it was cold and lonely, that's all I know right now. But I can see that it will be easy to get used to this good life again. I'm now clean, free of fleas, get steady meals and have this wonderfully soft Millie bed to lay my thin body.

You see, it was hard for me to take care of myself and hunt for food, because some mean person had me declawed when I was younger, and then threw me out!

Meowmy said that I will get a forever home now and never have to fend for myself again. I still haven't let all my secrets out yet, but as soon as I'm ready to tell Meowmy more, she'll tell you.

So how about asking about me and maybe your home will be my forever home.

Purrs,
Gofurr

Notes from Home
Hi,
We have given Gofurr a nickname - "Big Boy". His christian name is still on file but he has grown into his long body and nickname. I'm guessing he wants to make sure he never goes hungry again. I've started him on a light formula dry cat food this week. Unfortunately our other cat has had issues so we have to leave food down for her all the time so she'll eat enough.

Big Boy is a really sweet cat. He sleeps most of the day either on our bed or on the rug on the far side of the bed. We pat him and talk to him every time we go into the room. He purrs & enjoys the attention but likes it only in short bursts. When he comes out in the kitchen in the afternoon & evening he sleeps under the kitchen table. I'm guessing this gives him a sense of security. Every time one of us walks into the kitchen he butts us and rubs against us. I usually pick him up and pat him for a minute or so. He now relaxes & enjoys the attention, again, only for short periods. When I pu thim down he usually turns around and smacks my leg. Since he's declawed it's painless. I think he likes being fresh.

I wish his background was known. It incenses me that the trama from his time out on the street, due to whatever human flaw, severely damages their ability to trust for so long. Gaining trust again is a long and slow process. I wish he would spend more time in the living room and sit on us but hopefully that will happen in the future.

He has been very respectful toward our 10 yr old cat. He's love to play with her but she's such a queen and so dominant that any play is limited. He will chase her around on occasion until she turns and glares at him.

I've rambled on but the bottom line is that we love him and he's been a great addition to our family. His attitude reminds me of a somewhat awkward teenager who wants to please but doesn't always use the correct approach. I'm glad for him that he was adopted by experienced siamese cat owners rather
than novices who may have expected too much from him in too short a period of time. He settles in a little more each day. He is truly loved and will have the best life we can give him.

August 13, 2009: Mally has made a permanent home with us since February. We are all very happy! She loves to play with her mega-turboscratcher, especially if we play with her. She has a big appetite, with previous digestive issues gone (we have kept her on Miralax daily). She is talkative and affectionate, and will now allow us to hold her for several minutes. We are so happy to have adopted her....We love her very much!!

ZEDA
Hi - I'm Zeda and I'm a very sweet and loving girl. I love to have people around me, sit in laps, be loved on and kissed as well as cuddled. I have lived with other cats and dogs before, but would probably be happiest as an only cat with my "special" person to care for me. Do you have catnip sacks at your house? I'd love to have some of those to play with as well as toys on a string. SO, if you can give lots of love and can provide me with just a few necessities, I'll be your special girl forever. Love and purrs, Zeda
Notes from Home
I adopted Zeda at a really tough time in my life. As I was starting grad school in a new place, a tragedy happened in my fiance's (now husband's) family. Having Zeda there with me when it was really hard to meet new people because of how sad I was gave me a friend who always greeted me happily when I came home, cuddled when I needed it, and gave me unconditional love in return for playtime and food. She got me through the first year of grad school, and when my husband and I got married and moved in together, we decided that she really might like a kitty companion. After talking to Zeda's foster mom, Katie, about it, she recommended Duncan, a mellow young Lynx point boy. We brought Duncan home, and after a careful integration period, the kitties did great together. That was almost a year ago now and they continue to become closer as kitty siblings. Everyone who comes over to the house remarks on how friendly and sweet they both are, and our cats have convinced several "non-cat" people how great kitties can be! We love them like they're our children and are so thankful that ours is their forever home!

BOGEY
I had a wonderful home but then this darn recession caused my meowmy to lose her job, so she had to return me to Siamese Rescue so I can find a new home. I am a shy guy, who while I love pets, I'm pretty nervous about being picked up. I have a very squeaky meow and my teeth will need some extra attention for the rest of my life. I love to play more than anything in the world, and would really like to have other felines to play with. Anything with feathers on? It doesn't stand a chance :) And belly rubs? If those come with the package, then count me in.

Notes from Home
We are happy to announce that Michael Westen is almost fully recovered from his run in with the fridge. He seems to be settling in well. Victor has been working on handling him as much as possible to get him used to being touched since he's home with the cats every day. It seems to be working pretty well and I think Westen is growing out of his shyness. He no longer squeaks and squirms if you pick him up and he doesn't run away if you walk up to him. He's becoming more active as he heals and is feeling better. He has started to play with Strawberry a little and the other day I even got him to chase the laser around! He has been eating well and sleeps in his bed in the living room during the day. One of the cutest moments is when he decided to sleep on Victor's feet while Victor was reading a book. The other exciting moment was when he decided to join us on the bed! He now curls up to our feet at night and snuggles. And of course he still loves belly rubs and rolls over like a Mexican jumping bean and purrs every now and then.

No one knows how it happened, but somehow I wound up outside, pregnant and all alone. The next thing I knew I was in a cage in a scary place with lots of other crying kitties and was poked and prodded and stuck with a needle. I was really scared there. Then Foster Meowm came and said a nice little girl like me didn't belong in a place like that so within days, I was here. After being put through the water torture - not once but twice ! - and being poked and prodded again, I wasn't too sure this was a very good place either. Then there was the scary trip to the vet the next day where I was poked and prodded a third time and stuck with two needles this time. To top it all off, I was back to the vet three days later, stuck with ANOTHER needle and then woke up with a very sore tummy where they had cut me !! I didn't know what was happening and was really scared. Once again Foster Meowm showed up and brought me home and has promised that I won't get any more needles for a long time. Lots of good food, gentle pets, and a soft bed to curl up in have me thinking it was worth it.

I purr and headbutt and make biscuits when I'm held but with all that's happened I still want to hide when I'm out of my safe zone. Foster Meowm says it's only temporary and that I'm soon going to have a furever home - one where I'll be loved and cherished every day - is it yours ?

Notes from Home
7/16/09
Amorette has actually been doing surprisingly well with strangers. She will come out to see them, not close enough to touch, but definitely peaking her head around the corner, seeing who is there, and coming just out of touching range.

I plan on keeping my door propped open at night so that she will be able to come and go while I sleep. To this point though, she does not use much force to go through doors; my bed room door closed accidentally one day while she was in the kitchen, and she didn't try very hard to push it open, or so it seemed. I will plan to leave it open enough so she can come and go.

I am trying to brush her regularly and keep an eye on her in terms of hairballs. She did cough a few nights ago, but I havent seen any vomit anywhere yet.

Also, she is doing much better at being held. I pick her up and give her a treat, or pick her up and start brushing her and she seems to be less agitated, and then wants to get down. But when I put her hand under her she used to start to run, and now she doesn't, she just lets me pick her up.

I had been leaving food on the counter for it to get to room temp if it had been in the fridge, and twice, I had found her up on the counter tops. I scolded her because the only place I am not ok with her jumping up is the kitchen. She then got more skittish and was a little scared to be as playful, but I suspect that is normal.

She is talking more, mostly around feeding time when she is hungry, but sometimes at other times. She makes this funny little noise, like a mini meow when she is sitting in my window watching something outside. One thing I get nervous about is there are 3 Ferrel cats in this neighborhood and when she sees them, sometimes she goes ballistic, I wish they weren't around.

She is curious about the door to the front when it is closed, but I say No loudly when she goes near so that hopefully she never gets the idea to go out when it is open.

The last thing to tackle is the nail clipping. She will let me get as far as pushing her nail out and then she pulls away. I may just need to be a little more force full, but in the back of my mind I guess I dont want to be bitten. My experience with nail clipping was my friends cat you could just hold on your lap and gently push the nail out and she didn't squirm a bit so this is new.

Also, I attached a new pic of her in her favorite spot on my bed :)

Mara

PS: Just went into my Bedroom while the pictures were uploading and saw she threw up on my rug. I guess that I am going to have to regularly treat the hairballs...

Notes from Home
Sugarpie has really settled into the routine around here now. She's completely comfortable with the entire house and goes where ever she pleases and gets on anything she pleases. She's fond of throwing grapes around after pulling them from the bowl. She has many spots around the house where she'll sleep during the day. You never know where you might find her. That tells me she is quite content with this home. She get along well with the others which I'm not surprised by since she came from a 13 cat household. She has her kookie time in the morning that is allotted to all Siamese. It looks like cat Nascar around here sometimes! She's very attached to my 19 year old daughter but she's getting ready to go away to York College in a couple weeks so Sugar will have to do with me for a while.
That's about it for now. I'll update again in the near future.

ROSE
Yes, I really am this cute. I'm a little more subdued than that rowdy kitten here - Blossom! - but I still like to run and play. I like to climb onto foster mom's lap, and I'll even let her hold me for a minute or two. But then I'm off to the races again - I'm a kitten and there is so much to do, and so many toys to play with! I'm a smart little girl, and have taught myself to scratch the scratch mats and the cardboard scratch boxes. I'm all up to date on my vaccines, I've been spayed, and I'm ready to go home. Will that be with you?

Daphne "The Doodle"-

Hello to all my Siamese Rescue friends!!! I have spent one year with my MEowmy and Paw Paw, and I am soooooo happy!
I live in New Jersey, on a little island in the middle of Lake Hopatcong... I have a BIG porch that I sit on all day where I sniff the breeze rolling off the lake. It is very relaxing!
Sometimes I sit in the window and try to lure the chipmunks closer to my house- I wish I could go outside, but I think my mommy would cry if I ever did, she would never let me!
I truly am my Daddy's Girl. I like to sit on his lap when he gets home from work, and he gives the BEST chin scritches around! I get a lot of hugs and kisses- even when i don't really want them!
My mommy likes to pick me up and squeeze me.. she calls me her "Shortie Tortie." Then my Grammy comes over and does the same thing!!! My grammy just bought me a new Cat Tree that I love to climb and scratch... I love her!
But the BEST part about my new home is my big Brother, Phinnaeus. Phinny is 7 years old, and he is a BLue Point Siamese. We love eachother a lot, and are always together. We love to wrestle and play and run around. Phinny is very gentle, he lets me win all the time, even though he is bigger than I am! We sleep together and cuddle, Phinny always rests his head on my big soft belly.
We were featured on TV!!! We won Pet of the Week on News 12 New JERsey cause we are so cute... and we got to advertise for Siamese Rescue!
We have a very nice vet.. his name is Dr. Sniderman- he likes to give us kisses and hugs, and takes good care of us. Mommy is greatful that he is so loving and gentle!

Things are great here, and i am so thankful I was placed with my forever home by Siamese Rescue- who knows where I would have been without their help? They can be assured I am safe, and cqared for, and LOVED beyond any words!! Maybe a little too much sometimes!!
Ok, gotta go.. mommy just made some fresh Tune and Catnip treats... I have to beat Phinny or he might eat them all!!!
Love,
Daphne

Tell me what a young, handsome boy like me is still doing in foster care! Tell me why my previous owners would choose to move somewhere they could not have a cat and would give me up! I do not get any of this. I am a very sweet boy :>). I like other cats that like me, but meowm thinks a home without woofers is the best bet. So, how about it? Do you have a place for a sweet, handsome blue-faced boy?

Zeqe has found a special friend in Lucas, our seal point. Zeqe's favorite thing is to lay on the kitchen floor on his back, waiting for the belly rub. His second favorite thing is to eat. He lays next to the food bowl and paws out one piece of kibble at a time. Lucas taught him that not long after he came home with us. His favoritte toy is his shiny crackle ball.

SHEENA
Foster mom says I'm a beautiful little kitten, and very purry. I have a good appetite, and I use the litter box like the proper little lady that I am. I was with other kittens at the shelter, and liked them very much. I'd probably like to go home with another kitten or someone to play with. I'll be letting foster mom more about my personality soon. I have a little bit of a cold from the shelter, but just a little one! It hasn't slowed me down one bit though.
Notes from Home
Sheena is doing great on her two week anniversary. She is now out and about the house with no problems and sleeping in our bed. She is currently in front of my monitor, helping as I type this. She is very self-assured and shows great common sense in dealing with the older cats. She was a good choice for a multi-cat house.

Quenby, our rescued chocolate point, has taken Sheena under her wing, and is showing her the ropes. Lily, our seal point, is still a little grumpy about things, but isn't making a big fuss. Mr. Tod thinks she's great as long as she doesn't pounce his tail too much. The two DSH torties aren't big fans, but the elder, Esme, ignores her as long as she keeps her distance. Chloe, the youngest, is having hissy fits when she sees Sheena, but hasn't gone out of her way to be aggressive. All in all, I think it will all settle down nicely.

Sheena is an extremely sweet kitten. She is very affectionate. We couldn't have made a more perfect choice.

Here are links to a couple of videos I took on her first trip downstairs:
