Zuri is doing wonderful. She has gotten very comfortable around the house, zipping here and plopping there. She is getting over her shyness with us, seeking out more and more attention. She is getting along with both Yogi and Jerry quite well. On more than one occasion, she has given Jerry (our dominant cat) a major headbutt followed by body rubs. She is quite talkative, holding discussions with her chirpy voice.
Zuri chirps at us every morning, being quite responsive and talkative. She is very funny, flipping herself around showing her belly and then zipping off. She has slept with me several times, taking over my husband's side of the bed. She is getting less shy slowly but surely. She still loves her cat tree, being her favorite spot.

It has already been 6 months and Yogi Bear is settling in quite well. He has become a permanent fixture either on my lap or on the coffee table. He likes hanging with us and still loves his brush. He also loves sitting in the window sills enjoying the breezes. He loves his felt wand toy, playing catch and bunny kicking it. He is very happy boy most of the time.
He had a little bout with his sensitive stomach. But he is on lactulose and is feeling much better.
He is getting along with Jerry (my semi-dominant male) most of the time. They like to hang-out together when we are at work. Overall, things are going quite well.

Update 7/18/09 I've been inter-GREAT-tud! Yeahhh. I wuv it. I get to play wiv da big cats and I chase them and play tag. I climb a tree they have, I can play, play, play. It's Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.
Update 7/14/09 Foster Mummy thinks I will be OK with woofers as long as they do not chase me. I still want to go home with another kitten that I can romp and play with though.
PSSSST, over here! Do you want to know a BIG secret, do you, do you?!? Ok, Ill tell you but dont tell anyone else! OK?
Just after settling in here, I heard Foster Mummy talking to Foster Daddy and she told him Layla is just the purrrfect kitten! She is healthy, really beautiful, eating well, using her litter box, very playful, purrs when you touch her and bold, she is the perfect 10 catwalk model!
See, I am a good little girl with lots to give and I would really love my own forever home with another playmate. I am even working on not being so scared of dat big woofer that comes into my room at times! WOW dat woofer is big and slobbery!!!!

Integration was completed without a hiss............
Layla is a VERY active little girl and is getting along well with her big brothers. She is quite the little charmer, when she wishes and is a delightful addition to our lives............Now, if I can just catch her on film, I can upload some new pictures............
She is eating well, growing and seems to be a very happy little princess!!!!!

One Month Since Adoption! What a happy, funny, energetic and gorgeous little girl she is! Layla Grace, (middle name added) is a delight and a welcome addition to our family! Layla's favorite new game is bathtub hockey, (played with bottle caps). She is hysterical! Now if I can just convince her to start her day a little later than 5:00am. She is still a purr machine and is getting bigger!

Hello my name is Nacho! I love to wake my people at three in the morning for some early morning cuddling. I will keep crying at your door if you don't open the door. Hi, I'm Tika. My ear pinna has been tipped because I was a little wild thing when they found me, but I'm starting to learn to trust the hand that feeds me! I love to bump heads and purr and rub, but I sometimes get easily spooked and will hide. I love other kitties and am very gentle with them. I am a loud kitty, I demand attention and I do whatever I want. I am especially good at opening kitchen cabinets, unlocked doors, locked doors you name it. I love to talk to my non-furry people everyday, I let them know when I need a good scratch behind the ears, or someone to open the window so that I can talk to the birds on the bird feeder. My best friend is Nacho. He is the best and we chase each other around the house like a stampede. Who says kittens are the only ones that can have fun? We rough house and we call for each other when we can't find each other around the house. When I am not playing with Nacho, I love to stick my paws in my water bowl to fish out the ice cubes. I just love ice fishing!

Winston has settled into his new home with amazing speed! My experience in the past has been that whenever a cat is brought into a new environment, they initially hide. Not Winston! As soon as he came out of the carrier, he lay in the middle of the floor and acted like he'd lived here his whole life. Similarly, the first evening here, some friends came over and Winston wasn't the least bit fazed, he went right up to them and solicited attention.
Winston is just an all around great cat! He's very smart; he has learned very quickly what he's not supposed to do (get up on the dining room table, use the couch as a scratching post) and is very calm and sweet-natured. I've yet to see him get over-excited or agitated, and he is very gentle with me when we play. Although he has always been affectionate towards me, I felt he was holding back at first, presumable because of his transient background. But each day he opens up a little more and I'm sure it won't be long before we're best friends.
8/27 update. Winston is doing great. He’s settled in and is right at home. He had his first Vet visit and came through with flying colors. The Vet says he’s in great shape, perfect weight, strong sounding heart and lungs. The only non-positive thing he had to say was that Winston had some tartar on his teeth, but that it wasn’t a problem at this point.
Winston is very playful and affectionate and I couldn’t be happier and I think he feels the same way!

Purrr, Purrrr, Purrrr, Lucy Lou here purring up a storm. I am a very sweet (purrrrr) girl who loves people. I was just spayed so I am a little less active right now, but I love to play with furry mice and to be kisses and cuddled. (purrrrrrr), I had my vet check up today (puuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr) and loved the vet and everyone in the office. (puuuuuurrrrrr). They loved me, too, and (purr) thought I was VERY cute and sweet (pppuuuuurrrrrr). In fact, it was impossible to turn off my "purrrrrrrrrr" machine long enough to get a really good lsten to my heart and lungs - I just kept right on ................... You guessed it, purrrrrriiiiinnnnnngggggg. If you would like a happy, yes purrrrriiinnnggg, sweet and slightly cross-eyed young flame girl, be sure to (puuuurrrr) ask about little ole purring ME, Lucy Lou.

I feel deeply blessed that we were able to adopt two beautiful babies who had not been really abused or abandoned and who wound up fostering with Katie in a loving, supportive environment. Our little family has never had issues and every day brings a smile to our faces.

UPDATE: 2/15/09 - I'm without my "family - my brothers and sisters and me". My two companion kittens have a new home of their own together. They will be going home very soon. Now I need a "new family.....". I don't want to be by myself - I need a family, too. I am such a good cat - very loving, very sweet and very easy going - a typical snowshoe. Hi - I'm Reese - Yes, I can sing, too, "We are family all my relatives and me............", but I haven't told Foster Mama how I am related to Lucas and Maicy. I am a handsome snowshoe boy and since Lucas has one tiny white spot on one toe on each back foot, Foster Mom wonders if I am the daddy cat for the kittens. I am that easy going typical snowshoe personality, but I have a big Meezer "meow". I talk more than the kittens do, but I don't talk a whole lot. I love to be held and cuddled just like the kittens and purr when you pet me. I''ve really taught those two "young ones" in our family lots of good things about being a very nice cat. Hi!
My name is Mee Noi which in Thai means "little bear". Meowmy named me that because she said I reminded her of a tiny panda bear. I'm only 1 pound right now and have a mild shelter cold, so meowmy said she will leave me on evaluation for a while while I grow up a little and get all better.
