MOSES
Ok, I'll admit it - I'm getting old and that in turn has caused some problems with my kidneys. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing if I'll live another 5 years or just 5 months. Just like life itself, there are no guarantees.

Foster Meowm says it's going to take a very, very special adopter who knows that it's not the length of time we'll have together - it's the quality. Could that special adopter be you ? If so, then go ahead and hit the Ask About Me and Foster Meowm will be happy to provide all the details.

Notes from Home
Moses is doing great. He is a very dignified meezer geezer and very affectionate. He has a set routine, which he has taught us, as he is an excellent manager for his human staff, consisting of several tours of the house, with stops at everyone's water bowl so he can dip his paws (he also gets in the shower with us), then a snack, and finally a day long nap on our bed. Once in a while he gets up for a snack and then goes back to snoozing. In the evening he makes rounds again and then hangs out on the couch, sleeping on us or by the other cats. At night he gets his medicine (which he finds incredibly undignified!) and then goes to sleep in his bed in the bathroom closet, nicely warmed up by a nearby space heater. Although he often finds his staff a little dense and slow, he appears overall quite contented with the service and accommodations :-)

KING JAMES
Okay, let's go ahead and put all the cards on the table. Might as well be honest up front, if we're going to start a relationship, right?

First of all, I'll tell you that I have been a very good boy. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I haven't done drugs. I had my claws removed through no request of my own, but it didn't make me a biter, and it didn't cause any litterbox issues. I'll eat anything and everything you offer, I'm just grateful to have food, but not all food agrees with me (see my owly eyes?) so I'm going to be cutting out grains in my diet. I don't mind, as long as I get lots of lap time.

Second of all, I am free, however you must provide lots of lap time. I am medically compromised, so there's no adoption fee.

I have a heart condition, and you can do one of two things about it, in addition to providing lots of lap time.

You can run all kind of diagnostic tests if you want, and see what's up. I'm flexible, doesn't bother me. I must be able to sit on your lap when we get home though.

Or, you can love me as is and see how it goes. I'm fine with that too, as long as I get lots of lap time.

The prognosis is 50/50. I could live for years without issues, and I could have problems. We just have to wait and see. I have a very sunny attitude, though, as long as there is lots of lap time.

While you may think this is all sad and heartbreaking, I really don't. I'm grateful for what I have, I'm pressing forward with my life, and enjoying every minute I can. I only have one request, yup, you guessed it, lots of lap time.
Notes from Home
Samuel (formerly known as King James) is doing great. He has regrown all his fur and is simply GORGEOUS! Most importantly, Samuel is my best buddy. He sleeps in my arms every night and comes to the door to greet me everyday when I come home from work. We had a special connection from the moment we met. He continues on his diet of special protein (venison or duck only - anything else makes him itch terribly and scratch his eyes and pull his fur) and the biggest struggle is to keep him away from everyone's else food, as he is a major piggy. We are so fortunate we had the opportunity to adopt Samuel a make him part of our family.

TINK
Seems every time I turn around, I am in a new place. First my owner had to give me up - then I was in the shelter - then a temp foster house, NOW here - so I am just a bit shy but I will warm up quickly. I do love attention so I will need someone who likes to give attention. We can carry on a conversation if you like. I also like to play --- so if you are interested in carrying on a conversation with me - ASK ABOUT ME!!!

QUANSON
Big-ole lover boy; never met a stranger. Loves laps, will apparently sit forever. Conversational, but not an incessant talker. Just about purrfect except .... may have the potential for being a door dasher, so needs a home with beans who can be diligent about keeping him indoors.
Notes from Home
Hurley is doing well 4 years later. He loves his heated kitty cup and cat tree! He's a rather reserved guy but he does like his lap time and often "helps" me while I am at the computer for work or pleasure. Although he doesn't love the dog Aurora, he has certainly grown to tolerate her as the picture will attest. We have a new human baby in the house these days, but Hurley has even adjusted to our little boy Noah and his cries. At first Hurley preferred to run and hide but he's back to his usual semi-social self. Overall, although he might prefer to complain a bit, he's a pretty content kitty!

JEWEL
Lonely single tortie girl seeking catless and lonely parents.

Want dedicated attention (no other cats, please), but those woofer types are okay as long as they don't interfere with my time with you. Diva-ish, but can be conned into forgiving any transgressions (particularly those transgressions that involve the vet) if you sit down with me and let me purr on you.

If you think you have room in your heart and your house for a gently used older and loving cat, email foster meowm!

Notes from Home
Jewel's First Anniversary with us.

Jewel has settled in like she owns the place, and us! We are her devoted servants and she is quick to let us know in no uncertain terms via LOUD meowing if we have displeased our benevolent Queen.

She spends time sleeping in her millie bed (complete with pet heating pad) on the couch, a recliner near the sunroom window, and a two-tiered basket in the library beside the bay window.

She enjoys the extensive nature programming on the sunroom window channel (birds and deer), the french door channel (more birds and the cat next door), and the bay window channel which hosts the late night moth show.

Our resident red-shouldered hawk saw Jewel basking in the sun on the hassock in the sunroom and tried to attack her through the window. I heard a loud Bonk! one afternoon and saw the hawk sitting on the deck railing outside the window shaking his head back and forth. Jewel, oblivious to the excitement, continued to sleep in the sun.

Jewel has her established routines. She loves to have her belly rubbed and will stretch out on her back and lift her front paws in the air as if to hug us when one of us approaches her. She is quite talkative and demands attention. My husband likes to play games on the computer and Jewel will hop up and sit in front of the monitor forcing him to pay attention to her.

FRIDAY
Single Siamese Kitty Seeks Soulmate!

Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Friday and I am a 2 year old seal point male. I am seeking a LTR with a person or persons to love me and in return, I promise daily headbutts, kisses and never going outside the box. I prefer not to have to share you with another kitty, so I am seeking a furrever relationship in a cat free home.

After I move in, (my toys are packed) you can stop looking for your kitty mate anyway. I will be happy to assist in light housekeeping and computer work, but prefer you do all the work in the kitchen.

I think you should ask my Foster Mom about me, so we can begin our forever story.

Purrs,

Friday
Notes from Home
Romeo has brought so much happiness into our home. He has really imprinted himself on us and we have on him. Romeo is definitely a welcome addition to our family. We chose the perfect kitty!!!! He's such a lover!

Romeo is still very happy in his new surroundings. We almost cannot remember what our life was before he came into it.

SIMON
Just settling in here at foster mom's house. I walked right in and acted like I owned it!
I'll tell her more about me as we get to know each other. I already know I must go to a home who has active cats for me to play with!

Notes from Home
Hi, all. This is Simon, checking in at the 2 year mark. I am a very happy boy. I love laps - anyone who is sitting on the sofa, the floor, the bed is fair game for me. I saw the vet yesterday for my check-up, and he raved about what a sweet, beautiful boy I am. I am still big at 15 lbs, but lost some weight from last year and I'm still working on it. I'm a busy guy though, and spend lots of time chasing my gal pal Fiona around the house. She gets a bit hissy about it sometimes, but then she'll turn around and chase me, so I know she really likes me.

I have identified all the good sunning spots in the house, have a hidden stash of de-tailed furry mice somewhere (none of the humans seem to know where.) I no longer eat out of anxiety (from my kitten days) and love my people. I don't like to get picked up - I'll mew in my tiny little voice - but I will be all over you once you put me down!

I am so happy here in Harrisburg! My family loves me and are so glad I came to stay. My pictures do not do me justice, but here are a couple just to give you an idea of how I look now.

MALEE
Greetings, world - I'm Meeko's twin sister Malee. It took me a few days to figure this Rescue business out, but now foster-mom says my name ought to be changed to Flower because I am just blossoming every day!
I'm a happy, friendly, talkative and playful girl in my refined and ladylike way - elegant poses and statuesque window-gazing are my specialties, and I have the most adorable way of dipping my paw delicately in my water bowl and lapping the water off my toes.
I do like my brother Meeko VA6846, even if he is a goofball - he checks people out for me and lets me know if they are OK. We don't have to go home together, but if you are looking for a pair you surely couldn't find a nicer twosome (check out our Double-Decker picture in the gallery!).
Time to go practice my soulful window-gazing position now - if elegance and high style are what you seek, you have my permission to ask foster-mom about me now.
Purrs - Malee

Notes from Home
Malee continues to find her way. She still is very shy but has made great strides this week. She actually cuddled up with me this morning for about 15 minutes (till big brother got jealous and crashed the party). She mainly hangs out in the cat tree tunnel until its time to play or eat. She loves exploring when the house is still, and likes to watch me type on the computer... maybe she is a writer. Lets hope the next chapter for her continues to become a great one here! The are fitting in to the family very well, with more and more purring.

MEEKO
Hi there! My name's Meeko, here at foster mom's with my twin sister Malee.
I've lived here a week now and by golly I think I've got this Rescue business all figured out! I'm showing foster mom how I'm a busy, athletic, playful, happy, healthy, inquisitive, outgoing, hi-how-ya-doin'-now-let's-PLAY kind of boy. Nothing Meek about Meeko anymore - I'm Mister Meet-and-Greet now!!!
I do like my sister Malee VA6851 who's here with me, we don't have to go home together but if you want a matched pair, double trouble, or double the fun, you sure couldn't find a nicer twosome. (Check out our Double-Decker picture in the gallery!)
Gotta run! If you like your little boys handsome and happy, c'mon and ask foster mom about ME now!
Catch ya later - MEEKO!

Two weeks and Meeko is doing very well. He is getting acclimated to the rest of the house and gets along with the kids great. He loves to play and nap in the sun till the birds land on the deck outside the window, then he is all business in stalk mode. He is a real playful cat and tears up and down the cat tree as if he is in the wild. He often cuddles up with me during the night. He appears to be very happy with his new home.

CLARA
Clara here, stilll singing and dancing to the Nutcracker music. I've got a little bit of a kitty cold, but I still think the holidays are just the best when you have good music to listen to, a warm bed to sleep in and lots of sunshine. I'm such a happy and easy going girl even though I am a blue dilute tortie. No "tortitude:" in me. I love sleeping and cuddling with people and am all around a tiny little princess waiting for her forever home. Be sure to hit that "ask about me" button and Mama Katie will tell you how sweet and wonderful I am. Oh, yes, don't painc - I came out of a feral colongy (I'm what's known as a "friendly feral") and so my left ear is slightly tipped. It doesn't bother me, so I hope it won't bother you, either Love, purrs and cuddled, Clara.
Notes from Home
Hi! My name is Purrsia! I was AKA Clara at foster mom Katie's house! I moved in with my new family in January. I am a good girl and am loved so much! Daddy is happy because I bonded with him because he slept with me in my "safe room" for 10 days. Then I got to meet the others....Minka and I became friends almost immediately! Mommy watched us carefully for the first few days....but she didn't need to because we played right away! Minka only got mad once...that was the day I discovered where the other three cats food was kept!!! Andy and Arli are nice to me too. We all play and eat and sun ourselves together. I am still little, but I have grown since I came here and Minka and I are the same size now! My fur is still creamy white, with a touch of blue on my face and a tortie tail! I'm quite unique and Mommy and Daddy say I'm beautiful!

I like to snuggle with Minka the most....but I do sleep in the bed at night ONLY after I've spent 10 minutes trying to "kill" Mommy's feet under the blankets! Just like all of the other cats....I like to watch Mommy get ready for work and I like to greet her when she comes home! I can't wait to see what this warm weather is all about! The windows have been open and I am quite fascinated! I love to look up...always looking up at the ceiling, fans, lights...The other day I almost fell backwards looking up because I was on the window perch when a flock of Geese flew over, honking away! Amazing!

Thank you foster mommy Katie...you did a good thing letting me come to live here! Thank you Peggy and Siri for letting me too! You have made my family complete and Mommy will be forever grateful! Love, Purrsia!
