Wow, still hanging out in this place. Figured for sure we'd have new digs by now! Its not so bad here, and foster dad is great, but he says we can't live here forever. Can't say that I'd want to anyway! Too much noise around here for me! Sis is doing better at dealing, but I'm still not comfortable with all this commotion. I do love to play with Kia, and we sleep together most of the time. I don't even mind people for the most part, I'll hang out with you all, but I'm not a lap kitty. I do like to have my space, but I'm very curious about what you're doing, and I love to play with toys with you people types.

Sis made me take new pictures, and a movie. Have a look!

Do you have a big heart and room for two sweet little seals (who are just a little bit shy)?

Waiting,
Kona

Notes from Home
It has been 6 months since we adopted Bogey and Bacall. They are doing great. They are very affectionate, purr a lot, and they want to be close to us (except when sleeping although one sleeps on the bed with us at night).

Bogey (the male has became the Alpha cat and he initiates the chases through the house and the rough house play with Bacall. They tend to leave Woodie alone and Woodie leaves them alone except for an occaional mutual sniffing.

Bogey likes to be held for short periods and will occasionally sit for a short time in our laps. Bacall can be held for only very short times but she likes to be very close. She sits on my desk while I work on the computer and constantly wants petting or she rubs her head against my head.

They each have their favorite ball - one is sponge and the other is plastic with a bell. They have both learned to fetch their ball. They will chase it down a 40 foot porch, bring it back and drop it our feet ready for another chase. With the hot weather the game (and exercise) doesn't last very long.

Bacall has always been heqalthy with no problems.

Bogey has had occasional loose stools with even more occasional drops of blood at the end of the bowel movement. After many veterinary visits giardia was identified in his stool and he received a course of antibiotics. He was good about taking the pills after we wrapped him in a towel to restrain him. He also may have irritable bowel syndrome so he is being fed a special bland food (Royal Canin Intestinal HE) obtained from the veterinarian. Since the antibiotics and change of food, we have not seen any blood but his stools are still occasionally unformed. He has also had an infection in his right ear that was treated and cured but he still has a build up of wax in the right ear. We clean it out when needed.

They tolerate toe nail trims very well even Bacall who doesn't like to be held.

I'll post some pictures of them in the bathroom sinks where they like to sleep and catch drips of water. Luckily we have several batrooms and enough sinks for us to share with them.

Notes from Home
Hi Everyone at the Rescue Center!

I wanted....err-uhm, I mean Deja Blu wanted to send this to you earlier, but
you know how it is...time gets the best of us. But, now we're finally able
to sit down and send you a "Blu Update."

My daughter and I welcomed "Ash" into our home in August 2009. The Center
didn't have an exact birthdate, but knew he was born around the end of
March. We decided his birthday would be March 29, 2009. So, on March 29th this
year, "Ash", who is now named, "Deja Blu" celebrated his first birthday!
He received lots of presents: a 4 foot tunnel that lights up and he can
dart in and out, a circle toy with a ball that turns around in an inside
track...this one actually makes sounds everytime he bats it.
At 3 in the morning, we hear this thing saying, "Here Kitty Kitty" and "Meow
Meow Meow," and then it starts squeeking like a mouse.
He also had a birthday cake with a candle that he stared at for 5 minutes
until we had to blow it out (after singing "Happy Birthday," of course!) His
humans had the cake, but Blu had Fancy Feast Seabass and Shrimp appetizer
(his absolute favorite!)

Deja Blu is quite a character. He loves water!
He loves to look at it, put his paws in it, and, of course, drinks it from
the faucet. Bathtubs are his favorite play areas and if his humans are
having a bubble bath, you might
as well say he's in heaven! His vet says he's a very healthy, BIG
boy. She said he's not fat, he's just all muscle and BIG! He's
a healthy 14 and 1/2 pound meezer who loves playing chase and attack, jump
and attack, and hide and attack. Did I mention he likes to attack his
humans? This is play attack where he literally jumps 3 feet into the air,
with his front arms wide open like he's going to hug you. But, instead,
it's a Grab and a Push, like he's saying, "Ok, you're IT !!!" We still believe
he is part Tiger!!!

I've attached some photos of the "Life of Deja Blu." If you could also forward
this to his Foster Mom, we'd appreciate it.

Thank you so much for having this organization and letting us be part of
your "family!"

P.S. "meow Meow MEow MeoW meoW meOW MEOw MEow"

That was DejaBlu saying he's a very happy cat and loves his Forever Home family
very much and THANK YOU for bringing him to his new Meowmy!!!

SASHA B
Happy home, happy cat - then somebody sneezed, somebody else said that
horrible "ALLERGIES" word and plop! there I was in a cold steel cage at
the shelter. A ladylike, lovebug lapcat like me, in a cage - outdoors
- in October! Lucky for me a shelter angel hooked me up with Siamese
Rescue so I get another chance to show off my sweet disposition and
calm, elegant ways. I'm 98.9% bluepoint with the sweetest little frosting
of gold dust next to my nose - must have gotten that way from so many
whisker kisses and chin bumps! I was sooooo sad at the shelter, Foster
Mom thought I'd come out all depressed but as soon as I looked out of my
carrier and saw I was in a real House again I turned my purrbox on
"High" and I haven't turned it off since. A House still isn't a Home,
though - how about you, is there a Home with you for me? Just please -
don't sneeze!

UPDATE: I caught a nasty cold at the shelter and I'm finally well! I've also met the local cats and dog and I seem to get along very well. I'm ready to come to your house now.

Notes from Home
Sasha is a very laid-back kitty. She sleeps with me every night and snuggles up, although she is not a lap kitty and dislikes being held. She is hot as the blazes too, since she has long fur and needs daily combing. She has a pleasant personality but has become more reclusive with time - she is not as social with strangers as she originally was. Very scared of thunder. She tolerates Grayson's attention for a while but eventually tires of him and swats him away. Her favorite thing in the world is a running faucet - she sits in the sink and cries for it to be turned on. She likes the water and gets it all over herself, both drinking and swatting it around.

YIN
4-17-10

I have new pictures! Take a look, I bet you've never seen such a pretty girl!!!

Now that I'm out in the main part of the house and have met all the resident cats, I'm happy to have the run of the place. This is a picture of me meeting Singer for the first time. He's is a real pest!

I've discovered the couch is the very best place to observe the goings-on around here and I spend a lot of time sleeping across the back of it. I've met all the resident cats but would much rather sit in foster mom's lap and get ALL the attention. Who has time for other cats...it's all about ME! I love, love, love attention and having my ears rubbed and love, love, love being in your face and on your lap.

If you're looking for a real lovergirl in a slick, seal coat, just click that button and ask about me!

Headbutts and purrs, Yin

Notes from Home
Yin has settled in now. She is comfortable with the whole family and asks for affection from any of us. She has really shown her personality. She loves to carry around her stuffed mice. She is a smart curious cat too. I had a bedroom shut off and I couldn't figure out how she kept getting inside until my son saw her open the door by the L handle and push the door. We have had the cat door propped open so she would get used to the cat door going to her litter box. When we have removed the spoon she chats quite a bit about the closed door and is not sure about IT. So, it is still propped open. Funny!
She is loving and loves to be rubbed and petted. She likes to sleep on the bed for about half the night and she loves to be around her people. I think she is trusting that this is her new home and she owns it now. We love her meows and conversation noises. We are all doing great!

Notes from Home
Squeaky (Delilah) is doing great! She pretty much made herself at home the first day, and after one month she knows that she is here to stay. She has a great personality, loves to visit with company (but is not a pest), and has settled into very good routines. She spends time in the morning on our screened deck watching squirrels, birds, and rabbits in the back yard and common area. She has a whole collection of toys that also get plenty of use. Her eating and litter box habits are the best. We boarded her for 10 days while we were on vacation, and she handled that very well too. We could not have found a more perfect cat.

Check out my new pictures! BTW, I am now a TV star. How cool am I?
Notes from Home
Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday, dear meeeeeee,
Happy birthday to me!
Yep, tomorrow's the big day! I'm not a kitten any more--I'm a full-grown cat! I'm as big a Moxie now--did you see the pictures? Boy oh boy! And Mom's been home for three whole days, and she got me some new toys for my birthday! She got some extra mylar balls because somebody keeps knocking them under the furniture and then getting upset because he doesn't have his mylar ball. Isn't that silly? Who would do that?
Mom says now we have to work on my belly. Yea! More kitty treats! More snackety-snacks! More... What? But...but you said... What do you mean, LESS...?
I have to go sort things out with Mom. She's kind of confused. But in the meantime, enjoy the new pictures!
Happy birthday to me...

CLEO
Hi there, Im Cleo.

Now that Ive been here for a little while, things are looking up. Im getting over my kitty cold and have started eating the goodies Ive been given. Im still a little sad about having to leave my family because they got sick and couldnt keep me any longer but Im seeing the better side of life, also.

Foster meowmy and paw paw are pretty nice but I would like to have a new family. Im jumping into their laps so I can get pets and skritches but I still do run and hide behind the chair when the door opens because Im still not sure what is going to happen. But when I see its ok, I come out and talk and purr.

If you would like a nice kitty who does talk and purr, please ask about me.

Purrs,
Cleo

Notes from Home
Cleo has progressed nicely. Integration is taking awhile, mostly because she is so very timid. But last evening, she and our other Meezer, Brandy, touched noses! Cleo didn't even flinch as Brandy suddenly appeared on the arm of the recliner. where she was watching TV curled up in my lap (she seems to enjoy NCIS...or maybe that is just me...), then they both reached out to sniff each others nose. Brandy then jumped down, and Cleo continued to watch Abbey Schuito and Leroy Jethro Gibbs work the case.
Cleo has continued to gain healthy weight, and is no longer scrawny. Lil Miss is a total love bucket, who sleeps with me every night, and will let me know when it is time to eat!
I will get new pictures up, soon!

FINN
Hello! Foster Mom says if you look "kitten" up in the dictionary you'll see my picture! She says I'm a typical kitten. I'm full of energy but when I get picked up I snuggle and purr. I actually purr in my sleep. How cute is that?? Don't you want to learn more about me? If so click on my link and Foster Mom will tell you all about me.

Take care!

Finn is a wonderful cat. He has adjusted well. Finn and our Boxer Bree are best friends. Finn rules and Bree listens. Finn has had no problems. He is a lover and just loves to cuddle. He also likes to eat. Finn has brought great joy to our home.

Finn and I would also like to thank his wonderful foster MOM Kathy. She is a great person and we still stay in touch.

FIFI
I am getting used to the sounds and activity in my foster home and as I settle in I will let more be known about my personality. Foster mom says it will be at least ten days before she knows if I like other cats. She told me it would have to be a very Siamese savvy person to adopt me because I am a Diva whatever that means.
UPDATE: I am feeling better about things and I think this new life will be very good.

Update 2/25/10: I thought I could hide my loving personality but it has just come bursting through. I am a little shy but once you pet me I am all over you. I head butt and purr and talk meezer talk. I guess I just couldn't hide my loving side.

3/08/10 I am a shy girl and I am overwhelmed since foster mom moved me to a larger room. We think it would be better for me to stay within one days transport area.

Notes from Home
4/24/10 Shanti has been in her furever home for just about a month --- and oh what changes she has been through. From a shy little meezer, to a loving and playful little girl. From one who was never sure when she would eat again, so literally vacuumed up her food, to one who now eats just what she needs for breakfast and leaves the rest in her bowl for late in the day.
After hiding behind the couch in her room the first 2 days she was here, she became a hunter and explorer. And yesterday, caught her first gecko on the lanai. Shanti and gecko raced through lanai and her room for sometime before she caught it, then proceeded to lay her treasure before me!
I am still working on integrating her with Spencer and Kate. While Spencer is amenable, Kate is quite jealous and attacks if she can. Since she is ill, I limit Shanti's time in the rest of house to when Kate's asleep.
We spend lots of time together throughout the day and evening, and she is quite the love bug. Loves to snuggle and I know once she has the run of the house, she'll be sleeping under the covers :o)
Once again, my thanks to Siamese Rescue and all the volunteers for your efforts in rescue and adoption. And my special thanks to Jane, Paula and Theresa for all you did in bringing this little one into my life.

5/6/10 Shanti and Kate may have turned the corner on their Mexican standoff. I've been exposing them more to one another the last few days, sort of 'supervised play (or attack).' After spending much of the afternoon eyeing, sniffing and ducking one another, Kate is now laying beside me and Shanti is on the table as I type this. Fingers crossed that this detente continues, as Shanti does want to be in the rest of the house. A p.s. on Kate's health: while she has lost more weight, her #s are stable. Vet check earlier this week showed no dehydration for which I am grateful.

5/28/10 Katie took a turn for the worse and crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Monday. It was a very sad day for me as little Katiebug was the sweetest little love -- except of course when she had enough of Shanti and would tear after her. She was feisty practically to the end. I am grateful for her love and affection and know that she is in a happy place, playing with her old pals.
In the last couple of weeks Shanti has just blossomed, and now that she's no longer looking over her shoulder for Kate, she is enjoying every day. She is inquisitive, playful and affectionate. She has learned to fetch and I often find her favorite little fluffy in my bed. She tried to engage Spencer in play with it by laying it between the two of them -- but the old man just looked and went back to sleep. Since Katie passed, I started feeding Shanti closer to Spencer, and in just 4 short days, they now eat side by side. I am soooo happy about this, and really appreciate her funny antics. It's helping with the empty spot that little Katiebug has left.

Mei-Li is doing great, but still a little scared . 4-17-10
4-24-10

as you cansee, we renamed

4-24-10 We renamed Gina to Mei-li which translates to "pretty girl". We thought it was a more appropriate name for a siamese, and she is such a pretty girl. We took her to our vet yesterday, and they agreed with her name description and declared her to be very healthy. Mei-li has lived here for two weeks now. Every day she is making strides, investigating every corner of her new home. She is becoming very affectionate, sits on our lap, and allows me to pick her up and cuddle now. I love being a meowmy again!

may 26-10
Mei-li, previously Gina ,is pretty much relaxed and has accepted us as her devoted meowmy and daddy. She no longer hides in the boxsprings as in her last picture. She is very playful, and also sweet and loving at times. We are a perfect match!
