SOPHIE
Hi there! My name is Sophie and foster Meowm says I am a sweetie. I had kittens weaned from me May 12th so my spa treatment felt so good, that I purred the whole time. Sure is good to get some attention again. I have shown meowm that I am a real lady by using my litter pan . I also love to sit on her lap and let her brush me while I purr to tell her "please don't stop, it feels sooooo good! Meowm says I am could be a "tortie flame" because my points have orange in them but the rest of me is so creamy.
I got a great report from the vet on May 16th. She said that though I'm a little thin, I'm healthy! I should be ready to go to a forever home by the 2nd week of June. Meowmy says I have to wait till my milk dries up before the nice doctor can give me my "education".
Check out my pictures and maybe you'll decide that I am that special kitty you're looking for! I sure would love a forever home all of my own. I don't think I'd mind other cats, a nice dog or even children, as long as they wouldn't hurt me.
Update: 5/23. Well I met the dog and head butted her! She liked me too and gave me a sloppy dog kiss. Hump!! Had to give myself a bath!
I've been moved up to a nice sunny room all of my own now, and am enjoying just laying in the sunbeam. The only thing that could be better than this is a home all of my own with sun shinning into every room. Is that yours? If you want a no-issue, cutie like me, please tell foster meowmy.
Purrin for ya,
Sophie

Notes from Home
6/17/10: It's hard to believe it's been 4 years since I adopted Evie. Time sure does fly! Evie is as healthy as can be and continues to be one of the loves of my life! She and Sneakers spend their time playing, grooming one another, and watching the birds who are nesting on the fire escape right outside our window. I really can't imagine life without them! I'm going to upload a picture of Evie in her new bed. Boy, does she love that thing. I originally only bought one bed, foolishly thinking that Sneakers wouldn't want one of his own. As you can see from the picture, I was very wrong! I had to go back to the pet store to buy him his own the very next day!
Happy Anniversary to Evie and me! We've had another great year together. She really is one of the best cats I've ever had. She curls up on my chest every evening, purring nonstop, keeping me company while I read a book. She and my other cat, Sneakers, are the best of friends and love playing, eating, sleeping, and bird watching. We just moved to a new apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, right across the street from Central Park, so the birds are plentiful! There's nothing cuter than watching Evie 'chatter' at the birds sitting on the fire escape.
Evie had her check up last month so she's UTD on her vaccinations. She's maintained her weight at a healthy 10 lbs, but the vet said again that we don't want her gaining any more. She and Sneakers eat Wellness indoor cat food and are quite active, but she's still as round as round can be!
I'm currently fostering a dog from the NYCACC and Evie just LOVES her. Then again, Evie loves everyone (and everyone loves Evie)!
I'm uploading a picture of Evie hiding out in the closet. My coat had fallen off the hangar and she thought it made a great bed!
Thank you again for everything!

Notes from Home
Grayson is such a sweetheart. He absolutely loves me, likes to be held, and will crawl all over my shoulders when I'm trying to sit at the desk. He also loves the other cats; he desperately wants to cuddle with them but they will have none of it, possibly because he also little-brother irritates them when he wants to play Cat Chase. Conversely, he goes berserk when a neighborhood male cat looks in the window at him - very aggressive, defending his household.
Grayson is very high-strung and nervous, seldom sleeps and is always on edge. He is afraid of anything that makes noise, including plastic wrap, garbage bags and tin foil. I feed him endlessly and he never gains an ounce. He is just now getting to the point where he will come out when a stranger is in the house but is still very wary. Most of my friends have never even seen him, much less been able to touch him. I don't know what happened to him in his earlier life but it terrified him. I think he finally understands that he is safe.
Did I mention that I absolutely LOVE this cat??

SOCKS NKA MOXIE
Wow! What a change for me! From the shelter with a hard surface and on toys, to a cushie bed and lots of toys. I'm a happy kitty, love to play, love to snuggle, love to eat, .........did I mention love to play??????
I feel so good now that I'm clean and free of those pesky fleas, I am a good girl and always use my liltter box, and let meowmy give me a pedicure without complaint.
Wouldn't you like a little girl like me in your life?

Notes from Home
Moxie is the perfect addition to our little family. Her name definitely suits her -- she's still a wild child, but a lovebug, too. She loves the morning shower routine, when Moses the Maine Coon pokes his head in to get wet and she tries to play with his tail...sometimes pushing him into the tub! My little lynxpoint loves the bathtub, too, jumping in whenever I head to the bathroom!
She's also a talker, but not in the true meezer mowl like Minou, my sealpoint who passed last summer. Moxie could have been named "Squeak" like the character in The Color Purple. I thought it would change as she got older, but at 11 months now, I have a feeling she'll always be squeaky! She replies to me with a squeak, and with Moses also talking in a sweet meow, we have a lovely trio going.
At her two-week check-up, Dr. Jack gave Moxie the "all clear," and Mox was very well behaved...the pipe cleaners I brought really kept her preoccupied. We cleaned her ears up a bit, and she's healthy as can be, with a bunny-soft coat that is now beginning to darken. Good news: no sneezing after the first two months at home.
Moxie is super smart as we all know Siamese are. I'm especially thrilled that she understands what "no" means, and has learned not to scratch or play with things in the house that aren't just for her. Her human vocabulary is expanding...night-night, stinky food, water, treat, and crunchies are her favorite words.
Moxie ADORES her older brother, Moses. Their first meeting was thankfully uneventful, and ever since it's been mostly smooth sailing. There's an occasional growl from Mo, but Mox starts most of the melee...she can really wrestle! They run like horses up and down my long hallway, sliding into the kitchen and leaving the rugs in a heap!
Moxie LOVES her toys and catnip. She carries or drags them around in her mouth, just like Minou did. Sometimes I find most of her toys in a big pile, and others I find them all over the house.
I was hoping she'd sleep in the bed with me and Mo, and sure enough, she does. When she isn't curled up between my knees at night, she's usually in her sherpa bed next to my pillow, quietly purring. Once in a while, I'm awakened to an "exfoliation" treatment on my hands...she's quite the clean machine!
Moxie's litterbox habits are very good, and she seems to pee an awful lot...more than any cat I've seen. Last week, she hopped into the box to pee while Moses was already in it -- patient fellow that he is, he stayed in the box with her, side by side! She loves her kitty water fountain, and gets lots of water.
Mox loves her morning canned food, and licks the bowl clean. I've weaned her off canned kitten food in the past couple of weeks, and the mixed dry food of adult and some kitten kibble will be switched to all adult by end of May. (Jeanne- she still chases kibble across the kitchen floor!)
Moxie takes a little time to warm up to new people, but not in a dysfunctional way. She checks people out, darts off, and comes back over and over again. After a couple of visits, she's fine. I'm glad that she's attached to me, though she's also an independent little girl, unlike my male kitties have been.
So, it's a love story. My happy healthy little girl is having fun and becoming quite a love to boot. Thank you for all you do for Siamese kitties. I shudder to think what would have happened to her if you hadn't taken her in.

MILEY
Love me, hold me, pet me, snuggle with me, talk to me, kisses please! I am the sweetest little tortie cat you will ever find--no tortitude here. I think I may even be a lap cat. I am SO affectionate and I will do anything to win your heart.

Notes from Home
6/4/10 I can't believe it's been a full year since geting Miley. Seems like she's been here forever. Miley is doing wonderfully. She's had two vet visits the past couple weeks (they don't like to give rabies and distemper shots together in case of reaction) and both vets were impressed with how pretty and calm she is (though she's a bit of a wiggler). She is in great health and weighs a little over 9 pounds. The only thing is that she's a typical Siamese and needs to have her teeth cleaned, which I'm having taken care of mid-June.
She's such a sweet girl and not an ounce of "tortitude." She and Rocco get along extremely well and spend a lot of time hanging out and playing together. She loves to be brushed and can lay there forever, just purring away. She also loves to drink water out of the faucet and will move Rocco out of the way to get in there! Couldn't ask for a better cat - she's a doll! Thanks again for everything!
6/14/10 Miley had her dental cleaning on Friday and ended up having three teeth removed (two absesses and one loose tooth). The vet said she was a very good girl throughout the procedure and recovery. The vet said her problems are genetic (those dratted Siamese teeth) and to keep her on the dental program of Oxy-Fresh and Maxi-Guard that I've been doing. The other suggestion was to try and brush her teeth, but it's hard enough to swipe the Maxi-Guard on her gums with my finger so I don't think she'd go for a toothbrush!

GLEN ISLE
A big old loving lug of a cat, I wind around your legs, chat with you and am quite outgoing and friendly. I've had a lot of different homes in just a few years through no fault of my own, and I'm looking for one where I can settle down, into a routine, into some love, into a lap! I'm a bigger friendly goofy guy, and I don't bring a whole lot of baggage, so it won't take me that long to unpack and move right into your heart and home! (dog inexperienced)

It's been exactly two weeks today and Glen Isle -- now Kodi -- has intergrated amazingly well. He's such a mellow boy and sleeps with us now. His new sister (11 yr old Lilly) stills hisses at him occasionally when she remembers that she's supposed to be mad at him, but they actually sniffed nose to nose yesterday. Am sending a photo of him at one of his favorite spots. A huge Thank You to everyone who had a hand in bringing Kodi into our family!!!

Notes from Home
We're nearing our 2 year anniversary of adopting Kasper (now Franklin), and we feel fortunate every day to have such a wonderful pet in our lives! When we adopted him, Franklin was very shy. The SRC found him after he was abandoned at a barn. He had started warming up to his foster parents, but the move with us to Cleveland seemed to set him back, and he spent a lot of time hiding under the bed. We spent a lot of time talking to him and offering treats, and little by little, he adjusted and became a very happy animal. We have since moved to Boston--another transition--but Franklin has handled it well. He enjoys getting to know our new friends here, and his new veterinarian admires his gentle temperament. I highly recommend the SRC to anyone looking to adopt a cat.

KOKO
No idea what I did to have my life so rudely interrupted, but with a tender touch and a little kissing, I'm purring away soon.... Quiet loving home, I need a lot of reassurance and lots of forehead kissing please..... I need to have my teeth done, my blood checked, and then I will be ready to go, so if you'd like a younger senior who is very snuggly, and you're thinking mid to end April, maybe I'm your guy!

Notes from Home
Koko has arrived at his new home. He was very well behaved on the ride home, and carried on a conversation for part of the ride. He is in "his" room for now and I have been in and out several times visiting with him. Opal got a look at him but doesn't seem to be too concerned...yet. He has used his ltter box, ate some dry food and drank some of his water. I think he will adapt very quickly. He is such a love bug, bumping into my face and crawling into my lap. I tried to get some pictures but he won't sit still long enough to get a good one. I'll try again soon.
Koko is doing great! hH is a little skittish when I approach him, but if I stop and wait for him to come to me, everything is fine. He is very affectionate, and loves to sit in my lap and bump my face. He has been introduced to Opal and they are getting along fine. No hissing, scratching or fighting has been seen. They are not sleeping buddies, yet, but I think they could be by the time fall and winter come back. Koko's appetite is good, he eats about a half to three quarters of a cup of dry KD every day, and both he and Opal like the wet KD (that's good for Opal, too). He uses the litter box and hasn't had any accidents. He does vomit every once in a while, but this is a common trait with Siamese, so I'm not too worried about it. He sees the vet on Monday, and I will post another update after that. He is so sweet, I just can't believe someone would give him away. He'll be here furever!
6/9/10
Koko has settled in very well. He and Opal are getting along, touching noses and running through the house. He doesn't like his pills and always runs away right after I give it to him, but tends to forgive quickly. Then he's back in my lap looking for attention and affection.

LACY
This is me pretending to be coy or shy. I'm neither coy, nor shy! I love people and have one of the loudest purr engines ever!
My best buddy in this whole entire world is Alex. He's a Bengal, but because we are best buddies, he gets to come with me! For once in my life I'm the leader, not the follower!! I am braver than he is sometimes, and sometimes he's braver than me. We make quite the pair!
I love laps and to purr. I like toys and have good litter box habits. I used to eat too much, so I'm on a diet. I'm making slow but steady progress. I am OK with dogs, if they don't chase me. I really hate being chased!!
If you are interested in us, you'll need to click on "Ask About Me" on each of us individually. We must go together!

Notes from Home
Lacy likes mom the best. She brings down her new feather toy every night as soon as the kids go to bed to mom. You can here her drag it down the stairs making such a racket with the handle. It cracks my husband and me up. She still does not like the children, but visits the baby's room during the nighttime routine to talk and rub on me while I am feeding the baby. She hisses at the children still, but has never done anything to harm them. She runs away very quickly for such a big girl. We call her the groundhog because of her size and that she is so low to the ground. She prefers me and my husband and that is fine because she is safe in my room until they slip into bed or out. She is very chatty and affectionate. She will come around as the children get older, but for now they just ignore her and she stays away from them.

I'm Alex. I love Siamese as much as you do and I really appreciate Siamese Rescue! I am here because my best friend is Lacy and she's a Siamese. Lacy and I go as a team.
I'm a lot like a Siamese - I adore people, am smart as a whip, am into everything, and I can really jump! I love a feather toy, cat nip, and laps. I'm good with my litter box and am ok with cats and dogs.

Notes from Home
Sorry it has taken us so long to update Alex and Lacy's status lately. Everyone that visits falls in love with the stoic Alex. He has developed a routine of visiting the main floor when children are napping or at school and then again at night when they are in bed. I love laundry baskets and to give kisses while he stands on your back. Kevin, the oldest of the children, calls Alex his best friend. Alex was the baby's third word!!! She calls all cats Alex in place for the word cat. He is also gets into mischief by dumping water over or running away with parts of kids' toys. LOL
