WADE
Thanksgiving has come and gone and I'm still here. I have a lot to be thankful for even though I'm not in my forever home yet. I'm out of that shelter and I'm safe and warm and well fed in my foster home but I really want a home of my own. How about in time for Christmas? I can help you wrap presents, I can help decorate the tree and I can snuggle in front of the fire place with you.
Please ask about me?
Love,
Wade

Notes from Home
Wade (aka Wadie, Mr. Clean, the Puffball) is a love bug. Probably the sweetest thing he does is lie on my chest and put his front legs around my neck -- and then lift his chin up for scratchies. : )
In the 6 months he’s been part of the family, he’s become a very FLUFFY kitty. His tail is now a PLUME! With all that fluff, he gets thoroughly brushed every day.
Wade and Molly have become best buddies. They tear around the house -- up and down the stairs -- and roll and tumble on the floor. Once in a while things get a little too rambunctious for Molly’s liking, and she screeches -- and five minutes later they're back at it again. : )
Wadie still keeps up his running commentary on everything and nothing. I’ve gotten used to his constant asides. : )
I’m so glad Foster Mom Kathy Marcheselli rescued him from the animal shelter! She showered him with TLC, and I hope she can come visit her fuzzy little sweetie pie some day. THANK YOU, KATHY!!!!!

Notes from Home
Molly is so integrated into our family that I can't imagine life without her! That little speckled thing has me at her beck and call, and that's okay. : )
Molly's coat has darkened quite a bit, and her tortie markings are distinctive. She also has a small tan streak on her forehead that's very sweet. Also, I can’t help but laugh at the way she squeaks instead of meowing.
She and Wade are best buddies. They tear around the house -- up and down the stairs -- and roll and tumble on the floor. Once in a while things get a little too rambunctious for her liking, and she screeches -- and five minutes later they're back at it again. : )
Foster Mom Shirley nursed Molly to health and gave her lots of TLC. THANK YOU, SHIRLEY!!!!!!

DYNASTY
A quieter, softer gentle soul, I'm looking for a close relationship with a single or couple (a woofer is okay too) who wants a fairly easy going relationship with a very nice Siamese cat! Not sure what more you can ask for. I'm initially the tiniest bit shy but bet you'll hardly notice, and I have superb habits. I've been here long enough that there's no secret worries about my health (though I do prefer a dry kibble aimed at sensitive stomachs). Someone is missing the boat on me!

Notes from Home
Dynasty (with a new name of "Dusty") has been "home" for one month today! She gets more and more comfortable every day, and is now sitting on laps, getting chin scratches, lying in the sun in the bay window, even sleeping on a corner of the bed! She seems to tolerate, and even play with, her "brother" (Casey was already living here when she arrived). We kept her in her room for a couple of weeks, then limited exposure to Casey, and finally both have run of the house. There's some chasing every now and then, and a very infrequent hiss - but we've already seen some nose-touching and even a single lick on the head.
Dusty's been to the vet, who pronounced her well and good - a little overweight (we're working on that), and, as expected, a dental cleaning will be due in the future.
All in all, we have two super cats. We are so happy with Dusty, the newest addition to our family. She greets us at the door every time we come home, and follows us around quite a bit. What a pleasure!

MUFFY
Yo, yo, yo! Muffy's in the HOUSE! I'm living large as an inside kitty! You see, I didn't have it so good before I got into rescue. I was found living in a drainage ditch, scrounging for food. I made friends with a nice lady who got me into a shelter and now, at Siamese Rescue at foster mom and dad's!
I love people and will follow you around. I'm not a pest though, just curious! I like to bird watch and hang out with the dogs and sometimes even with the other cats. I just don't like being petted unexpectedly, so no little kids, please!
I've got perfect habits, love everyone, and am eager to be part of a family again!

Notes from Home
Muffy is doing GREAT in her new home. We have kept her name the same as that is all we called her before we were able to bring her home. It has been 2 weeks and she has decided she likes everyone. You know you are in her good graces when she falls down in front of you and shows her belly. She isn't much of a lap cat UNTIL you are working on the computer...like now, she is sitting on my lap purring up a storm. When I took Muffy to see her Vet, there was a party of cat and dog lovers who wanted to see my newest child. They all held her and Muffy said her hello's by head butting them. I think I saved Muffy as much as she saved me. Muffy will be celebrating her 2nd birthday on 04/01/2010 so I will have some updated pictures of her. Until then,
06/21/2010-Hi, it's me Muffy. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am loving being an inside kitty. I'm the queen of this household. I explore, sniff and follow. I still love showing my bellwee to my meowmy, and I think she actually likes seeing it. It's almost a communication mechanism between her and I. When I hear my meowmy's voice, my head just drops to the floor and before you know it, I have done a forward roll and my paws are pointing to the ceiling! I just love my meowmy and she loves me....her shadow. My meowmy is no only fluent in sarcasm (whatever that may be), but she speaks excellent meezer. I give her an A++.

Typical sealpoint applehead male who loves everybody particularly children - he solicited attention from my 4yr old grandchildren. Vocal and affectionate - will carry on a conversation with you. Is integrated here with other cats - mostly peaceful coexistance but won't be a 'buddy' cat for another.
Super healthy.
Just an absolutely WONDERFUL cat !!

Notes from Home
Mikey has been renamed Geezer. He has adapted very well into our home. Within hours of being here, he was snuggled on the couch and has found that the couch & the bed are his favorite places. He is very loving to everyone in our home and is a great companion. He loves to talk, purr and demands attention.... He is a great addition to our family!
10/4/09 - Geezer had his first vet visit on Wednesday and they said he is in good health. He now has figured out that if his people don't communicate on his feedings, he can try and get an extra meal out of someone. We now keep a checklist near his food. He loves spending time on the screened in porch. More updates to come!
10/22/09 - Geezer is just a pleasure to have in our home. His favorite things to do are sleep, eat & talk... He is becoming more playful and cuddly... Again, we couldn't be happier with our new family member!
11/19/09 - Geezer still doing great!
12/9/09 - Geezer is getting more & more comfortable everyday. He has pretty much put us on a schedule. After he eats, he demands to have someone lay on the floor with him and pet him and then he's off for a nap. He has taught the dog that he is okay with her existence as long as she stays 3 feet from him at all times. Luckily, she's an older dog and sleeps most of the day.
3/19/2010 - Geezer knows this is his forever home! Lucy passed away last month and he now has taken over the entire house! He begins his day the moment the first human wakes up and he demands breakfast. After breakfast he goes through the house to make sure everyone knows his presence with his great meezer voice! He spends his days sleeping in the bay window or out on the sun porch.
6/19/10 - Geez went for his yearly vet visit yesterday and received a great report card. Dr. M said he's doing great. He's gain a pound since he arrived. He now weighs 14.7 lbs. He now is in the habit of waking up someone around 4:30am to start HIS day. He wants to be fed, then hugged and pet and then let out onto the sun porch for the day.

IMABLUE
I'm really not blue at all - after a bout with a long drawn out cold, I am now better and out with all the other cats (couldn't care less about ages and sexes, I blend in anywhere) and am solely in search of a loving lap. I have zero bad habits - I'm not a big scratcher, I'm fine in the litterbox, I'm fine with my food, and while I had a hard time getting over my cold simply because I was so very sad at having to be caged for so long and at having lost my home, I am now 100% affectionate kissy lap loving purring machine cat.

Notes from Home
Wylie is the most people-centric Siamese I've ever owned. She absolutely loves people - she runs to the door when someone arrives, to see who it is and to check them out. She isn't afraid of anyone or anything, even the vacuum or hairdryer. Otherwise, she is the Queen Diva of the household and doesn't want to socialize with the other kitties (her subjects).
Wylie is very playful for an older girl and is very energetic. She also has a tremendous appetite for such a petite girlie and I have to keep her from bullying the others away from their food bowls. She wakes me up every morning at dawn (yes, including weekends) by licking my face until I get up and feed her. Siri was not kidding when she told me that Wylie "eats like a pig". She has a remarkable personality and I feel very lucky to have found her.

SOPHIE
Hi there! My name is Sophie and foster Meowm says I am a sweetie. I had kittens weaned from me May 12th so my spa treatment felt so good, that I purred the whole time. Sure is good to get some attention again. I have shown meowm that I am a real lady by using my litter pan . I also love to sit on her lap and let her brush me while I purr to tell her "please don't stop, it feels sooooo good! Meowm says I am could be a "tortie flame" because my points have orange in them but the rest of me is so creamy.
I got a great report from the vet on May 16th. She said that though I'm a little thin, I'm healthy! I should be ready to go to a forever home by the 2nd week of June. Meowmy says I have to wait till my milk dries up before the nice doctor can give me my "education".
Check out my pictures and maybe you'll decide that I am that special kitty you're looking for! I sure would love a forever home all of my own. I don't think I'd mind other cats, a nice dog or even children, as long as they wouldn't hurt me.
Update: 5/23. Well I met the dog and head butted her! She liked me too and gave me a sloppy dog kiss. Hump!! Had to give myself a bath!
I've been moved up to a nice sunny room all of my own now, and am enjoying just laying in the sunbeam. The only thing that could be better than this is a home all of my own with sun shinning into every room. Is that yours? If you want a no-issue, cutie like me, please tell foster meowmy.
Purrin for ya,
Sophie

Notes from Home
6/17/10: It's hard to believe it's been 4 years since I adopted Evie. Time sure does fly! Evie is as healthy as can be and continues to be one of the loves of my life! She and Sneakers spend their time playing, grooming one another, and watching the birds who are nesting on the fire escape right outside our window. I really can't imagine life without them! I'm going to upload a picture of Evie in her new bed. Boy, does she love that thing. I originally only bought one bed, foolishly thinking that Sneakers wouldn't want one of his own. As you can see from the picture, I was very wrong! I had to go back to the pet store to buy him his own the very next day!
Happy Anniversary to Evie and me! We've had another great year together. She really is one of the best cats I've ever had. She curls up on my chest every evening, purring nonstop, keeping me company while I read a book. She and my other cat, Sneakers, are the best of friends and love playing, eating, sleeping, and bird watching. We just moved to a new apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, right across the street from Central Park, so the birds are plentiful! There's nothing cuter than watching Evie 'chatter' at the birds sitting on the fire escape.
Evie had her check up last month so she's UTD on her vaccinations. She's maintained her weight at a healthy 10 lbs, but the vet said again that we don't want her gaining any more. She and Sneakers eat Wellness indoor cat food and are quite active, but she's still as round as round can be!
I'm currently fostering a dog from the NYCACC and Evie just LOVES her. Then again, Evie loves everyone (and everyone loves Evie)!
I'm uploading a picture of Evie hiding out in the closet. My coat had fallen off the hangar and she thought it made a great bed!
Thank you again for everything!

Notes from Home
Grayson is such a sweetheart. He absolutely loves me, likes to be held, and will crawl all over my shoulders when I'm trying to sit at the desk. He also loves the other cats; he desperately wants to cuddle with them but they will have none of it, possibly because he also little-brother irritates them when he wants to play Cat Chase. Conversely, he goes berserk when a neighborhood male cat looks in the window at him - very aggressive, defending his household.
Grayson is very high-strung and nervous, seldom sleeps and is always on edge. He is afraid of anything that makes noise, including plastic wrap, garbage bags and tin foil. I feed him endlessly and he never gains an ounce. He is just now getting to the point where he will come out when a stranger is in the house but is still very wary. Most of my friends have never even seen him, much less been able to touch him. I don't know what happened to him in his earlier life but it terrified him. I think he finally understands that he is safe.
Did I mention that I absolutely LOVE this cat??

Notes from Home
Moxie is the perfect addition to our little family. Her name definitely suits her -- she's still a wild child, but a lovebug, too. She loves the morning shower routine, when Moses the Maine Coon pokes his head in to get wet and she tries to play with his tail...sometimes pushing him into the tub! My little lynxpoint loves the bathtub, too, jumping in whenever I head to the bathroom!
She's also a talker, but not in the true meezer mowl like Minou, my sealpoint who passed last summer. Moxie could have been named "Squeak" like the character in The Color Purple. I thought it would change as she got older, but at 11 months now, I have a feeling she'll always be squeaky! She replies to me with a squeak, and with Moses also talking in a sweet meow, we have a lovely trio going.
At her two-week check-up, Dr. Jack gave Moxie the "all clear," and Mox was very well behaved...the pipe cleaners I brought really kept her preoccupied. We cleaned her ears up a bit, and she's healthy as can be, with a bunny-soft coat that is now beginning to darken. Good news: no sneezing after the first two months at home.
Moxie is super smart as we all know Siamese are. I'm especially thrilled that she understands what "no" means, and has learned not to scratch or play with things in the house that aren't just for her. Her human vocabulary is expanding...night-night, stinky food, water, treat, and crunchies are her favorite words.
Moxie ADORES her older brother, Moses. Their first meeting was thankfully uneventful, and ever since it's been mostly smooth sailing. There's an occasional growl from Mo, but Mox starts most of the melee...she can really wrestle! They run like horses up and down my long hallway, sliding into the kitchen and leaving the rugs in a heap!
Moxie LOVES her toys and catnip. She carries or drags them around in her mouth, just like Minou did. Sometimes I find most of her toys in a big pile, and others I find them all over the house.
I was hoping she'd sleep in the bed with me and Mo, and sure enough, she does. When she isn't curled up between my knees at night, she's usually in her sherpa bed next to my pillow, quietly purring. Once in a while, I'm awakened to an "exfoliation" treatment on my hands...she's quite the clean machine!
Moxie's litterbox habits are very good, and she seems to pee an awful lot...more than any cat I've seen. Last week, she hopped into the box to pee while Moses was already in it -- patient fellow that he is, he stayed in the box with her, side by side! She loves her kitty water fountain, and gets lots of water.
Mox loves her morning canned food, and licks the bowl clean. I've weaned her off canned kitten food in the past couple of weeks, and the mixed dry food of adult and some kitten kibble will be switched to all adult by end of May. (Jeanne- she still chases kibble across the kitchen floor!)
Moxie takes a little time to warm up to new people, but not in a dysfunctional way. She checks people out, darts off, and comes back over and over again. After a couple of visits, she's fine. I'm glad that she's attached to me, though she's also an independent little girl, unlike my male kitties have been.
So, it's a love story. My happy healthy little girl is having fun and becoming quite a love to boot. Thank you for all you do for Siamese kitties. I shudder to think what would have happened to her if you hadn't taken her in.

Notes from Home
6/4/10 I can't believe it's been a full year since geting Miley. Seems like she's been here forever. Miley is doing wonderfully. She's had two vet visits the past couple weeks (they don't like to give rabies and distemper shots together in case of reaction) and both vets were impressed with how pretty and calm she is (though she's a bit of a wiggler). She is in great health and weighs a little over 9 pounds. The only thing is that she's a typical Siamese and needs to have her teeth cleaned, which I'm having taken care of mid-June.
She's such a sweet girl and not an ounce of "tortitude." She and Rocco get along extremely well and spend a lot of time hanging out and playing together. She loves to be brushed and can lay there forever, just purring away. She also loves to drink water out of the faucet and will move Rocco out of the way to get in there! Couldn't ask for a better cat - she's a doll! Thanks again for everything!
6/14/10 Miley had her dental cleaning on Friday and ended up having three teeth removed (two absesses and one loose tooth). The vet said she was a very good girl throughout the procedure and recovery. The vet said her problems are genetic (those dratted Siamese teeth) and to keep her on the dental program of Oxy-Fresh and Maxi-Guard that I've been doing. The other suggestion was to try and brush her teeth, but it's hard enough to swipe the Maxi-Guard on her gums with my finger so I don't think she'd go for a toothbrush!
